The ONE & ONLY TRUE God

"Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?" Psalm 94:16.

Satan's last big effort to deceive even the very elect - if it were possible is described in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbB_ylJ2RH8

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
1 Cor 8:6 “But to us there is but ONE GOD the Father.”
Job 32:8 "But it is the spirit in a person, the breath of the Almighty, that gives them understanding." = this comes to us through Jesus the one and ONLY Son of GOD. John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments; His praise endures forever.

"The Holy Spirit is called both the Comforter and the Spirit of truth, because there is comfort and hope in the truth. A falsehood cannot give genuine peace; but through the truth we become partakers of the peace that passeth understanding." GOSPEL WORKERS 1892, PAGE 310

We must have an experimental knowledge of the way of holiness. Knowledge is a power when united with true piety.

Proverbs 9:10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."

Psalm 119:98 "Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.

Job 28:28 "And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding."

Proverbs 9:8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

Proverbs 9:7 He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.

Proverbs 9:9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

How many beings are we to worship?

Zechariah 6:13 "Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them BOTH."

"Christ the Word, the Only Begotten of God, was one with the eternal Father,--one in nature, in character, and in purpose,--the only being in all the universe that could enter into all the counsels and purposes of God." (GC 493)

2 John 1:9 "He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath BOTH the Father and the Son."

John 15:24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.

"The Father and the Son ALONE are to be exalted." YI July 7, 1898, par. 2, Sons and Daughters of God, p. 58.5

1 Cor 8:5-6 plainly says there is ONE God, the Father. "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him."

"It may be objected, If the Father and the Son are two distinct beings, do you not, in worshipping the Son and calling him God, break the first commandment of the decalogue? "No; it is the Father's will 'That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father.' We cannot break the commandment and dishonor God by obeying him. The Fathers says of the Son, 'Let all the angels of God worship him.' Should angels refuse to worship the Son, they would rebel against the Father. Children inherit the name of their Father. The Son of God 'hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than' the angels. That name is the name of his Father. The Father says to the Son, 'Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever.' Heb.1. The Son is called 'The mighty God.' Isa. 9:6. And when he comes again to earth his waiting people will exclaim, 'This is our God.' Isa. 25:9.

It is the will of the Father that we should thus honor the Son. In doing so we render supreme honor to the Father. If we dishonor the Son, we dishonor the Father; for he requires us to honor his son. "But though the Son is called God yet there is a 'God and Father of our lord Jesus Christ' 1Pet. 1:3. Though the Father says to the Son, 'Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever,' yet, that throne is given him of his Father; and because he loved righteousness and hated iniquity, he further says, 'Therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee.' Heb. 1:9. 'God hath made that same Jesus both Lord and Christ.' Acts. 2:36. The Son is 'the everlasting Father,' not of himself, nor of his Father, but of his children. His language is, 'I and the children which God hath given me.' Heb. 2:13." Review and Herald, June 1, 1869. http://www.intheheavens.org/SDA-Pioneers-on-the-Trinity.html

JESUS = JE = JEHOVAH S=SAVES = US = us   my NAME is IN Him. God's Name is Jehovah and His NAME is IN HIS SON. Jesus means JEHOVAH saves = See John 3:16 For God (Jehovah) so loved the word that HE GAVE His only Son

Titus 3:4-7 (KJV) "But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared , Not by works of righteousness which we have done , but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing [and reconciling] of the Holy Ghost (God's Spirit sent to us through Jesus Spirit); Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life."

"The history of Judas is given as a representation of the history of some who will be in the church till the close of this earth's history. There are more than one Judas among the professed followers of Christ....They have been given light, but they have refused to walk in it, and the light has become darkness to them. That which they once loved and upheld, they now hate and tear down. Filled with rage, they treat as poison what once was light and joy to them." Review and Herald, vol 4, p 208.

"There are many today who feel indignant and aggrieved that any voice should be raised presenting ideas that differ from their own in regard to points of religious belief. Have they not long advocated their ideas as truth? So the priests and rabbis reasoned...They have no right to meddle with the fundamental principles of our faith....
     "And then these leaders, in the blindness of their minds, give full sway to what is supposed to be righteous indignation against the ones who have set aside their cherished fables. They act like men who have lost their reason...They will not open their eyes to discern the fact that they have misinterpreted and misapplied the Scriptures, and have built up false theories, calling them fundamental doctrines of the faith." Testimonies to Ministers, p 69-70.

"The devil may lock arms with the sinner, and say, `Better let things go as they are. If you confess, your dignity will be hurt, your influence lost.' Thus he has gained the victory over and over again." Special Testimonies, Series B#7, p 2

Light (Jesus) Piercing the darkness in your life !

  "Are you filled with sorrow today? Fasten your eyes on the Sun of Righteousness.
Do not try to adjust all the difficulties, but turn your face to the light, to the throne of God. What will you see there?--The rainbow of the covenant, the living promise of God. Beneath it is the mercy seat, and whosoever avails himself of the provisions of mercy that have been made, and appropriates the merits (worthiness) of the life and death of Christhas in the rainbow of the covenant a blessed assurance of acceptance with the Father as long as the throne of God endures.

     Faith is what you need. Do not let faith waver. Fight the good fight of faith, and lay hold on eternal life. It will be a severe fight, but fight it at any cost; for the promises of God are yea and amen in Christ Jesus. Put your hand in the hand of Christ. There are difficulties to be overcome, but angels that excel in strength will cooperate with the people of God. Face Zion, press your way to the city of solemnities. A glorious crown, a robe woven in the loom of heaven, awaits the overcomer. Though Satan would cast his hellish shadow athwart your pathway, and seek to hide the mystic ladder from your view that stretches from earth to the throne of God, on which ascend and descend the angels who are ministering spirits to those who shall be heirs of Salvation (deliverance, freedom, rescue, healing and restoration), yet press your way upward, plant your feet on one round after another, and advance to the throne of the Infinite."

- Signs of the Times, May 2nd, 1895
Ellen White

Bear in mind that the time will never come when the shadow of Satan will not be cast athwart our pathway to obstruct our faith and eclipse the light coming from the Sun of Righteousness. Our faith must not staggerbut cleave through that shadow. We have an experience that is not to be buried in the darkness of doubt. Our faith is not in feeling, but in Truth (Thy Word is Truth ! - John 17:17). None of us need flatter ourselves that while the world is progressing in wickedness we shall have no difficulties.

It is these very difficulties that bring us to the audience chamber of the Most High, to seek counsel of the One who is infinite in wisdomHe loves to have us seek Him; He loves to have us trust Him and believe His Word. If we had no perplexities, no trials, we would become self-sufficient and lifted up in ourselves. The true saints will be purified, and made white, and tried.”

     "O what great privileges belong to those who are believers and doers of the words of Christ! It is a knowledge of Christ as the sin-bearer, as the propitiation (atonement) for our iniquitiesthat enables us to live a life of holinessThis knowledge is the safeguard for the happiness of the human family.

Leviticus is about how everyday human beings can live in close proximity to a holy God. Are you living upon the PER MISSIVES OR THE PROMISES OF GOD TODAY?

"In grains, fruits, vegetables, and nuts are to be found ALL the food elements that we need." Counsels on Diet and Foods, p. 92.2

THE PLEDGE
      “I solemnly promise, before God, to abstain from tobacco, spirituous liquors, snuff, tea, coffee, flesh-meats, butter, spices, rich cake, mince pies, a large amount of salt, and animal fat of all kinds, baking powder, soda or saleratus in any form, and cheese, and from all exciting articles of food, and to abstain from eating between meals, and to do all I can to induce others to do likewise.”

"Grains, fruits, nuts, and vegetables constitute the diet chosen for us by our Creator. These foods, prepared in as simple and natural a manner as possible,  are the most healthful and nourishing. They impart a strength, a power of endurance, and a vigor of intellect, that are not afforded by a more complex and stimulating diet. [The Ministry of Healing, p. 296.1 (1905)]

"The indulgence of appetite affects them in all the relations of life. It is seen in their family, in their church, in the prayer meeting, and in the conduct of their childrenIt has been the curse of their lives. You cannot make them understand the truths for these last days." —Counsels on Health, p. 152.

Leviticus 11:44-45

11:44  For I [am] the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I [am] holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

11:45  For I [am] the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I [am] holy.

God wanted nothing less than holiness from His people.  He is a holy God, and he demanded nothing less from His people Israel.  This seems like an impossibly tall order to fill, doesn’t it?

It is ironic that this passage occurs at the end of one of the most ridiculed chapters in the Bible!  Leviticus 11 is the chapter that deals with the dietary laws that God gave to Israel.  Whenever someone wants to make the point that the Bible is an unreasonable or ridiculous book, they invariably go to Leviticus 11 and point out that God prohibits the eating of shellfish and other such things.

But here God explains His reasons for specifying what His people could and couldn’t eat.  God wanted His people to be clean right down to the food they ate.  God created all animals, and He knows what purpose He created each one for.  He did not want his people eating carnivores or scavengers, and He took the time to show His people how to tell which animals were okay for them to eat, and which were not.

To much of the rest of the world, this looks like foolishness.  For God’s people, though, this was part of keeping yourself clean enough to live in close proximity to a holy God.

In Leviticus 19, God again announced that He wanted His people to be holy.

Leviticus 19:1-2.

19:1  And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

19:2  Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God [am] holy.

God goes on to explain that part of living a holy life is dealing with the people around you in a godly way.

Leviticus 19:11-14.

19:11  Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.

19:12  And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I [am] the LORD.

19:13  Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob[him]: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

19:14  Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I [am] the LORD.

Stealing, cheating and lying are all contrary to living a holy lifestyle.  Notice that no distinction is made between what one does personally, or in business, or in government.  Cheating or robbing your neighbor, or even delaying the payment of an employee or someone who has done work for you, are also identified as examples of unholy living.

Cursing a deaf man or tripping a blind man may seem like practical jokes, albeit cruel ones, to some; but God identifies these also as examples of ungodly living.  Even if a person has no way of knowing you have wronged them, doing wrong to them is still ungodly.

Being holy also includes staying away from occult or spiritual activities forbidden by God.

Leviticus 20:6-8.

20:6  And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

20:7  Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I[am] the LORD your God.

 20:8  And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I [am] the LORD which sanctify you.

Today such things as séances, horoscopes and psychic readings are regarded by many as harmless entertainment.  But God sees these activities as going to another god for counsel or help.  He considers this “whoring” (verse 6), the equivalent of a married person going to someone outside their marriage for sex.  Neither doing business with other gods nor engaging in spiritual activities forbidden by God has any place in a holy life.

Leviticus 20:22-26.

20:22  Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out.

20:23  And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

20:24  But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I [am] the LORD your God, which have separated you from [other] people.

20:25  Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.

20:26  And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD [am] holy, and have severed you from [other] people, that ye should be mine.

God’s people were not to be like everybody else.  They were not to act like the people around them, to worship like them, or even to eat like them.  They were set apart by and for God; they were to live their lives God’s way.

Deuteronomy 7:1-3.

7:1  When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

7:2  And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, [and] utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them:

7:3  Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

God commanded the Israelites to utterly destroy the Canaanite nations that dwelled in the land that He gave them.  This seems cruel and evil to us.  It looks like genocide, and we are tempted to sit in judgement of God because of it.

But God was explaining a deadly reality to Israel.  One critical thing that will bring their nation into judgment by God and cause Him to destroy it is the worship of other gods.  And the number one way this sin will enter their nation is by way of the survivors of the people of the land who are allowed to live among them and teach them their ways; the very things that caused God to destroy them.  God’s people will have to choose between the lives of the Canaanites and their own lives.

In the end, the Israelites failed to destroy the people of Canaan, and ended up worshipping their gods.  This led, centuries later, to the almost complete destruction of the nation by God in judgment. If we fail to get all the idols out of our life today, we will ultimately be destroyed as well today in the end. Anything that takes our mind off of God and His Son, causes us to break any of the Ten Commandments is a idol today. Choose ye this day whom ye will serve by obeying the traditions of men or the commandments of God?

God made it clear to Israel that He did not choose them because of any merit on their part.

Deuteronomy 7:6-11.

7:6  For thou [art] an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that [are] upon the face of the earth.

7:7  The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye [were]the fewest of all people:

7:8  But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

7:9  Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he [is] God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

7:10  And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

7:11  Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.

The key to living a holy life is obedience to God’s word.  God promised Israel that if they did what He told them to do, He would reward them richly.

Deuteronomy 28:1-2.

28:1  And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe [and]to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

28:2  And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

It’s sobering to see the high and holy standard which God called Israel to live by.  But Israel is not alone in being called to be holy.  God has called out HIS PEOPLE from among both the Jews and the Gentiles, or non-Jews, a people for Himself.  And, as with the Jews, God expects for His people to be like the holy God who called them.

I Peter 1:13-16.

1:13  Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

1:14  As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

1:15  But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

1:16  Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

We’ve seen what holy living looked like for Israel.  But what does it look like for us Spiritual Israel today? (not Israel the country today)

Romans 12:1-2.

12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.

12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We are told in Romans 12 that God wants two things from His people.  He wants us to live holy loves outwardly, where people can see; and He wants us to live holy lives in our hearts and minds, where nobody knows what’s going on but ourselves and God.  It is as we are transformed on the inside by the renewing of our minds that we live holy lives outwardly.

As with the Jews, holy living in the Church (God living in us = the church = not four walls of any denomination) involves not only our relationship with God, but with other men and women as well.

Romans 12:9-13.

12:9  [Let] love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

12:10  [Be] kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

12:11  Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

12:12  Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

12:13  Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

In short, God wants us to walk in love one toward another.

Romans 13:8-9.

13:8  Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

13:9  For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if [there be] any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

For Israel, holy living was necessary because God’s dwelling place was in their midst.  For the Church, holy living is necessary because we, as the body of Christ, serve as the temple of God.

I Corinthians 3:16-17.

3:16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that]the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

3:17  If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are.

Holiness was always part of God’s plan for His people.  Even before God made the heavens and the earth, He chose us and called us to be holy.

Ephesians 1:3-4.

1:3  Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly[places] in Christ:

1:4  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

II Timothy 1:8-9.

1:8  Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

1:9  Who hath saved us, and called [us] with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

God sent His son Jesus Christ to walk perfectly before Him and die in our place on the cross not just to obtain eternal life for us – which he did! – but also to present us to God as holy in His sight.

Colossians 1:19-22.

1:19  For it pleased [the Father] that in him should lawfulness dwell;

1:20  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, [I say],whether [they be] things in earth, or things in heaven.

1:21  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in[your] mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

1:22  In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

We are set apart by God for His purposes.  We are to live our lives in obedience to Him, as men and women who are holy to Him.  We don’t do this by trying to live our lives in accordance with a bunch of rules and regulations.  Instead, we start with the inside, with our minds, and bring them into subjection to Christ.  Then we work our way out.

Colossians 3:1-2.

3:1  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

3:2  Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Your “affections” are your thoughts.  We begin by setting our minds, our thoughts, on things above, on the things that pertain to God and Christ, not on things of the earth.  God didn’t want Israel living like everybody else.  He doesn’t want us, who are HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE, thinking like everybody else!

One key thing we need to come to understand is our identification with Christ, our union with him, in his death on the cross, and in his righteous walk. As a man thinketh so is he. Thoughts become words, words become actions, actions become character, and character becomes destiny.

Colossians 3:3-4.

3:3  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

3:4  When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

When Christ died on the cross in our place, we are counted as having died with him in BAPTISM -DYING TO SELF, SELFISH MOTIVES.  Baptism is an outward sign of what is happening inwardly. Whoever we used to be before we were saved has been legally put to death in the person of Jesus Christ by immersion into the watery grave of baptism and rising anew in the risen life of Christ.  And the life of perfect obedience that Christ lived is counted as our obedience to God.  God has made us righteous in Christ, even though by our own works we were unrighteous. WE CLAIM CHRIST'S VERY OWN PERFECT SIN-FREE EXAMPLE LIFE AS OUR VERY OWN PRIZE for us to use as our very own.

However, our old self is still very much alive.  Our old thoughts, our old attitudes, our old habits are still trying to run our life.  What are we to do about this? Dye daily to self by spending time reading the Bible and praying in the early morning hours - gaining power and wisdom for the coming day - just as Jesus did in his example for us when he was here visibly. He is here now with us invisibly by His own Spirit - God sends us His own Spirit through His Son, so they BOTH make their abode in those who invite them into their hearts/mind morning by morning. It is like the manna that had to be gathered each day or it would spoil, except for Friday morning a double portion needed to be gathered to prepare for the Sabbath. So it is for us spiritually...we need to gather the rays of light from Christ each day so we can share it with others for each new day.

Colossians 3:5-9.

3:5  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

3:6  For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

3:7  In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

3:8  But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

3:9  Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

We are to put to death those elements of our old self that are trying to live through us.  They died legally with Christ.  Now we are to treat them like they are dead. If we ask Christ, (though we are unworthy and have sinned) to forgive us and cleanse us with his own blood, Christ's righteousness (character=thoughts and feelings) will cover us, will cover our past sins and ENABLE us to live SIN-FREE just as Jesus did.

God wants us to put off our old self, with it’s sinful ways, and put on a new self.

Colossians 3:10-11.

3:10  And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

3:11  Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond [nor] free: but Christ [is] all, and in all.

What is this new self, or “new man,” that we are to put on?

When we received Christ as our Lord, we receive the spirit of God.  It is this spirit of God in us that makes us sons of God.

Romans 8:14-17.

8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

The “new birth” is not just a figure of speech.  We who are Christ’s have something in us that wasn’t there before.  The spirit of God is now an integral part of us. It is His SEED, His spiritual sin-free seed that is planted in us = and that IS JESUS CHRIST!! And it is that spirit (Christ own Life) in us that addresses God as “Abba,” or “Daddy.”

Now that we have the spirit of God, in us through Christ, we have, in effect, two wills.  Our old self is as much a rebel against God as it always was.  The spirit of God in us, on the other hand, always wants to do our Father’s will.  The result is a civil war inside ourselves.

Galatians 5:16-18.

5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Our flesh, or our old self, earnestly desires one thing, while the spirit of God in us, or our new self, earnestly desires something entirely different.  The two are in conflict with each other, trying to keep us from consistently walking righteously on the one hand, and keeping us from consistently sinning – and keeping us from enjoying our sin! – on the other hand.

The solution to this dilemma is to walk in the spirit:  to deliberately choose to walk in accordance with the spirit God has given us.  This is walking in newness of life.

Colossians 3:12-17.

3:12  Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

3:13  Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also [do] ye.

3:14  And above all these things [put on] charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

3:15  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

3:16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

3:17  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

For the Christian, walking in the spirit is the how of holy living.

When you walk in the spirit, you are walking in accordance with God’s written word, for the spirit and God’s word are in full agreement..  Walking in the spirit is walking in obedience to God’s word.

When you walk in the spirit, you are walking in love, for the spirit is in full harmony with the love of God.  Walking (living life, making life's daily little and big choices) in the spirit is walking in love.

When you walk in the spirit, you are walking in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ, for the spirit we have received is the spirit of Christ, and the spirit is in full agreement with Christ.  Walking in the spirit is walking in obedience to Christ.

When you walk in the spirit, you are walking within the will of God, for everything that is of the spirit is within the will of God.  Walking in the spirit is walking within the will of God.

When you walk in the spirit over time, your life gives evidence of the fruit of the spirit:

Galatians 5:22-23.

5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

5:23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

The fruit of the spirit are godly characteristics that develop in you as you walk by the spirit in obedience to God’s word.  They are Christ-like character made evident in your life.  They are the outward evidence of inward holy living. (HOLY THOUGHTS, cry out to Jesus to save you, say JESUS save me, whenever you have a evil thought and HE WILL SAVE you. Keep saying JESUS SAVE ME, when you have a bad thought and it WILL go away. Be persistent to resist evil and Satan will FLEE from you in the name of Jesus!)

Galatians 5:24-26.

5:24  And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

5:25  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

5:26  Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Satan knows that without this knowledge we should be thrown into confusion and divested of our strength. Our faith in God would be gone, and we should be left a prey to every artifice of the enemy. He has laid subtle plans by which to destroy man. It is his purpose to cast his hellish shadow, like the pall of death, between God and man, in order that he may hide Jesus from our view, so that he may cause us to forget the ministry of love and mercy, cut us off from further knowledge of God's great love and power to usward, and intercept every ray of light from heaven . . . !"

- RH, June 25, 1895

  You must put your foot right on the Wordand say, I believeI will believe; I will press to the mark of the prize, and everything that hinders me shall be swept away; I will not allow anything to interpose between my soul and God.

No, the dark shadow of Satan will come right across our pathway if we let our faith sink into it. But we must do as the eagle does when he is in the cloud and bewildered in the fog. He does not go one way and another as though distracted,but presses upward through the cloud, until he comes into the light above. And so we should press upward beyond the hellish shadow of Satan, when he tries to eclipse the rays of light that come from God.

Now, we want the life of Christ in our hearts to make us one, and there will be united action. We must press to the mark of the prize of the high calling which is in Christ Jesus our Lord; and what we need is that living, active faith that takes God at His word. We must have it, and God will let us have it if we will.

We must not be discouraged. We want to get rid of unbelief; we do not want to talk it, or act it, or think it, but press forward to the mark of the prize of the high calling that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. I feel anxious, because I know that the time has come when God's people should put on their beautiful garments. "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee." It is the word of infinite power that He wants you to eat and drink. He wants you to eat His flesh and drink His blood, and then the power of God will be in your midst. Then the voice will be touched with a peculiar power.”

ref:  John 4:6-14, 6:32-40, 6:47-58, 6:63 & Psalm 34:7-8             - 1 SAT p.309

  "After His baptism, Christ knelt on the banks of Jordan and offered prayer to His Father, And as He prayed, the heavens were opened, and the glory of God, like a dove of burnished gold, rested upon Him, while from the highest heaven there came the Voice, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" [Matthew 3:17].

Christ's prayer was offered for us, and it cleaves through every shadow that Satan casts between us and God. In our behalf the Saviour laid hold of the power of Omnipotence, and as we pray to Godwe may know that Christ's prayer has ascended before, and that God has heard and answered it

    With all our sins and weaknesses we are not cast aside as worthless. "He hath
made us accepted in the Beloved." The glory that rested upon Christ is a pledge of the love of God for us. It tells of the power of prayer--how the human voice may reach the ear of God, and our petitions find acceptance in the courts of heaven. The light that fell from the open portals upon the head of our Saviour, will fall upon us as we pray for help to resist temptation. The Voice that spoke to Jesus says to every believing soul, "This is My beloved child, in whom I am well pleased."

If we believe in God,  (Our faith is the confident expectation of our hope in Him.)  we are armed with the righteousness of Christ; we have taken hold of his strength. The promise is, “Let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me, and he shall make peace with me.” We want to talk with our Saviour as though he were right by our side. We should have our minds stayed upon him. We should hold communion with him while we walk by the way, and while our hands are engaged in labor. If you will do this, you will not dishonor your Redeemer by talking to every one about your darkness and unworthiness. Go, tell it to Jesus; and he will lift up for you a standard against the enemy, and will cause the light (character=thoughts and feelings of God) of joy and gladness  to come into your hearts (minds).Historical Sketches of the Foreign Missions of the Seventh-day Adventists, p. 132.5

God desires that we believe in Him, that we trust in Him and His promises. His perfect love has cast out fear. All of our faith will be placed in His hands for the purpose of progressing His kingdom and His will and to stand as evidence of His victory. Our faith is the confident expectation of our hope in Him. He expects that in all things we seek His purpose and His will and give all our worries to Him. He protects us and cares for us.

There is one God the Father, His only-begotten Son, and the divine Spirit that proceeds from the Father to the Son, and from the Son to every believer. THIS IS YOUR BIRTHRIGHT, your INHERITANCE! To be partakers of the Divine nature of God through His Son!

The Fullness of the Blessing !

     “That ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Ephesians 3:14-19

     Do we really believe the Bible?
 Do we really believe that we may attain to the knowledge (knowing) of God that is presented before us in this text? Do we believe every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God? Do we believe the Words that have been spoken by prophets and apostles, by Jesus Christ, Who is the Author of all Light and Blessing, and in Whom dwelleth all richness and fullness? Do we really believe in Godand in His Son ?

     There are many who have a merely nominal faith, but this faith will not save you. Many believe in Christ because somebody else does, because the minister has told them this or that; but if you rest your faith only on the minister’s word, you will be lost. You must not do as did the foolish virgins, who, when the cry came, “Behold, the bridegroom cometh,” found no oil in their vessels. When they discovered their lack, they sought those who were wise, and applied to them for oil for their dying lights; but it was too late to supply them.

The wise had only enough for their own use, and they told the foolish virgins they must go and buy oil for themselves. We all must buy oil for ourselves. We must not be content with a mere profession. We are to take a stand for the Truth (the Word of God=Jesus) by profession, and the principles of Truth must become a part of our life.

There are many
 who know nothing of the new birth. They do not know that the Truth will test them, and make manifest whether they really are in the Truth or not. We should see to it that we are not deceived. We should know that we are really rooted and grounded in the Truth.

     "I the LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) search the heart, and I try the reins (kidneys, mind, the seat of the will), even to give every man
according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings . . . !"   Jeremiah 17:10

     "For many will say unto Me in that dayLord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils?
and in Thy name done many wonderful works? . . . . And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you (intimately - John 17:17-21 & I John 2:3-5).
Depart from Me, ye that work iniquity
 . . . !"   Matthew 7:21-29

The LORD wants us to have the fullness of His Blessing, that we may not be on the side of the questioner and the doubter, but have spiritual discernment, and be able to know the Voice of the True Shepherd from the voice of a stranger. We must have an individual experience !

Do not flatter yourselves that because you have made a high profession, you are the light of the world. The question is, “Are you the Light of the world, or are you the darkness of the world ?”

Light = the revealing of the glory and character of Almighty God !

For God , Who commanded (spoke aloud) the Light (truth=character of God) to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts (minds), to give the light (revealing) of the knowledge (knowing) of the glory (character=thoughts and feelings) of God in the Face of Jesus Christ . . . !” II Corinthians 4:6 & ref: Exodus 33:13-34:7

  All heaven has its expectation of you to whom the precious Light has been intrusted. The Light has shone upon you in clear, bright rays from the throne of the Living God.

     "For the earnest expectation of the creature (all creation) waiteth for the manifestation of the sons (children begotten) of God . . . !" Romans 8:18-21

The question of most vital importance to each one is, “Is it well with my soul ?”
It is not well with any one unless he has met and responded to the Light that Heaven has permitted to shine upon his mind. The Light of Truth (God’s Word) is more precious than anything besides; it is more precious than gold and silver. The most magnificent palaces are nothing in comparison to the Truth, andthis Light is to test us and to make manifest of what spirit we are !

- Review & Herald, October 1, 1889

"Was the human nature of the Son of Mary changed into the divine nature of the Son of God? No; the two natures were mysteriously blended (just as OUR human nature can be blended with the divine nature/character of God) in one person--the man Christ Jesus....When Christ was crucified, it was His human nature that died. Deity did not sink and die; that would have been impossible." (Lift Him Up, page 76, paragraph 2.)

"The Son of God was next in authority to the great Lawgiver. He knew that His life alone could be sufficient to ransom fallen man." --Spirit of Prophecy, vol. 2, page 9, also in Lift Him Up, page 24

"Christ alone was able to represent the Deity. He who had been in the presence of the Father from the beginning, He who was the express image of the invisible God, was alone sufficient to accomplish this work. No verbal description could reveal God to the world. Through a life of purity, a life of perfect trust and submission to the will of God, a life of humiliation such as even the highest seraph in heaven would have shrunk from, God Himself must be revealed to humanity. In order to do this, our Saviour clothed His divinity with humanity. He employed the human faculties, for only by adopting these could He be comprehended by humanity. Only humanity could reach humanity. He lived out the character of God through the human body which God had prepared for Him. He blessed the world by living out in human flesh the life of God, thus showing that He had the power to unite humanity to divinity." (Selected Messages, Book 1, page 264, paragraph 2.)

Ellen White: Before Christ came in the likeness of men, he existed in the express image of his Father.” (Ellen White, Youth’s Instructor, December 20, 1900, par. 4

Great emphasis was placed on the two natures of man by the first Christians.   At Genesis 2:7, the Wycliffe Commentary writes: “Man's body was fashioned from the dust of the ground, while his spirit came from the very ‘breath’ of God. He is literally a creature of two worlds; both earth and heaven can claim him”

"Christ had two natures, the nature of a man and the nature of God. In him divinity and humanity were combined.... He exhibited a perfect humanity, combined with deity; and by preserving each nature distinct, he has given to the world a representation of the character of God and the character of a perfect man. He shows us what God is, and what man may become--godlike in character." (The General Conference Bulletin, 10-01-1899, paragraph 20.)

"Character is power. The silent witness of a true, unselfish, godly life carries an almost irresistible influence. By revealing in our own life the character of Christ we co-operate with Him in the work of saving souls. It is only by revealing in our life His character that we can co-operate with Him. And the wider the sphere of our influence, the more good we may do. When those who profess to serve God follow Christ's example, practicing the principles of the law in their daily life; when every act bears witness that they love God supremely and their neighbor as themselves, then will the church have power to move the world." {COL 340.2}

(Philippians 2:5). Adorning the Doctrine of Christ—To adorn the doctrine of Christ our Saviour, we must have the same mind which was in Christ. Our likes and dislikes, our desire to favor self to the disadvantage of others must be overcome. Let the peace of God rule in your hearts. Christ must be in us a living, working power (Manuscript 39, 1896).

Paul and Nero Face to Face—Paul and Nero face to face!—the countenance of the monarch bearing the shameful record of the passions that raged within; the countenance of the prisoner telling the story of a heart at peace with God and man. The result of opposite systems of education stood that day contrasted—a life of unbounded self-indulgence and a life of entire self-sacrifice. Here were the representatives of two theories of life—all-absorbing selfishness, which counts nothing too valuable to be sacrificed for momentary gratification, and self-denying endurance, ready to give up life itself, if need be, for the good of others (The Youth’s Instructor, July 3, 1902).

(Colossians 1:152:9Colossians 3:10; see EGW comment on John 1:14Acts 1:1117:28Ephesians 1:20, 21Hebrews 2:14-18). The Personality of God—He [Christ] represented God not as an essence that pervaded nature, but as a God who has a personality. Christ was the express image (copy) of His Father’s person; and He came to our world to restore in man God’s moral image, in order that man, although fallen, might through obedience to God’s commandments become enstamped with the divine image and character—adorned with the beauty of divine loveliness (Manuscript 24, 1891).

“It was a difficult task for the Prince of life to carry out the plan which He had undertaken for the salvation of man, in clothing His divinity with humanity. He had received honor in the heavenly courts, and was familiar with absolute power. It was as difficult for Him to keep the level of humanity as for men to rise above the low level of their depraved natures and be partakers of the divine nature.”

"'This is My commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you' This is a wonderful statement. In our lives we are to exemplify the love of Christ. Then, like Him, we shall labor most earnestly for the salvation of sinners. He desires that we shall abide in Him, that He may work through us in keeping before the world such a representation of the infinite love of God as He Himself gave. Through our lives the respondent may receive an assurance that it is possible to be partakers of the divine nature, and by taking hold of this divinity win the victory that all must win who shall enter in through the gates into the city.... He who was one with the Father laid aside His royal robe and kingly crown, and in coming to this world clothed His divinity with humanity. Had He come in all His glory, escorted by myriads of angels, no man could have endured the sight. But He took upon Himself humanity, that He might perfect in His own life a humanity that we can lay hold of and be united with divinity. The divine nature is to be imparted to every true seeker after Jesus Christ. Divinity must be united with humanity. Thus humanity may be partakers of the divine nature, that men may be able to escape the corruption that is in the world through lust." (Sermons and Talks, page 294, paragraph 1.)

We can become divine! We may become/made Holy or - godlike - in character by Jesus - if we surrender our choices to God each moment of everyday:

"Jesus saw in this ruler just the help He needed if the young man would become a colaborer with Him in the work of salvation. If he would place himself under Christ's guidance, he would be a power for good. In a marked degree the ruler could have represented Christ; for he possessed qualifications, which, if he were united with the Saviour, would enable him to become a divine force among men. Christ, seeing into his character, loved him. Love for Christ was awakening in the ruler's heart; for love begets love. Jesus longed to see him a co-worker with Him. He longed to make him like Himself, a mirror in which the likeness of God would be reflected. He longed to develop the excellence of his character, and sanctify it to the Master's use. If the ruler had then given himself to Christ, he would have grown in the atmosphere of His presence. If he had made this choice, how different would have been his future!" (The Desire of Ages, page 519, paragraph 3.)(Note: the rich young ruler possessed qualifications which would enable him to become a divine force!)

"Christ's true followers will represent Him in character. They will turn aside from worldly policy, and every day will train themselves for service in God's cause. In active service they find peace and hope, efficiency and power. They breathe the atmosphere of heaven, the only atmosphere in which the soul can truly live. By obedience they are made partakers of the divine nature. The doing of the living principles of God's law makes them one with Christ; and because He lives, they will live also. At the last day He will raise them as a part of himself. He declares, 'As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.' 'This is the will of Him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.' Christ became one with us in order that we might become one with Him in divinity." (Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, 06-18-1901, paragraph 7.) (Note: "one with Him in divinity"! )

What Jesus is coming to take "the bride or His people" back to heaven with Him?

God is again sending His victorious Son, the Lamb of God, back to earth (his feet will NOT touch the ground) to pick up His FAITHFUL, people who worship God alone in Spirit  AND in truth.

His Spirit filled people are filled with the Spirit of God sent through His Son Christ =both their Spirits combined, into our minds - the Shekinah Glory - glory and power = character = the thoughts and feelings of God sent into our minds to transform us into His image/likeness/copy of His ways and desires.

The Shekinah Glory Enters the Tabernacle: The combined Spirits of God and His Son enter into His Tabernacle, our bodies, our minds are made Holy, transformed = His law, which is His thoughts and feelings are written on our hearts or sealed into our foreheads, our mind.

                     presence and power (Character) of God.”  (See Luke 1:35; Acts 1:8) (ST=Sign of the Times)

Rev. 22:6  "The angel said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true.  The Lord, the God of the
          spirits of the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place."

"Jesus Is Coming"
Rev.22:7  "Behold, I am coming soon!  Blessed is he who keeps the words o the prophecy in this book."
Rev. 22: 8  "I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I
             fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me."

Rev. 22:9  "But he said to me, "Do not do it!  I am a fellow servant with you and with our brothers
             the prophets and of all who keep the words of this book.  Worship God!"

Rev. 22:10.. "Then he told me, "Do not seal  up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the
time is near."

Rev. 22:11  "Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to do wrong;
           let him who is vile continue to be vile;  let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who
           is holy;
and let him who is holy continue to be holy."

Rev. 22:12  (Jesus says) "Behold, I am coming soon!  My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone
           according to what he has done."

Rev. 22:13  "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End."
Rev. 22:14 "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may
              go through the gates into the city."

Rev. 22:15  "Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the
            idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood."

Rev. 22:16  "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches.  I am
             the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."

Rev. 22:17  "The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!"
               Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the
               water of life."

          (... is the free gift of God through Christ; and the persons encouraged to partake of it are
          "whosoever will"; that is, his true church - the people who love God and keep his commandments)

Rev. 22:18  "I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to
                 them,  God will add to him the plagues described in this book."

Rev. 22:19  "And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him
                 his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book."

Rev. 22:20.  "He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon."
                    Amen. Come, Lord Jesus."

Rev. 22: 21  "The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen."

Following the rule of Isaiah 28:9-10 to allow Scripture to interpret Scripture, do not all these texts (and there are many more) make it very evident that there is but ONE God (the Father) and not a trinity (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost)? Will we insist and persist in exalting church tradition over the Bible, the pure Word of God? See Mark 7:9) “There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.” Psalm 81:9

The following is the Statement of faith that was published in 1874, this statement was not changed until 1931, sixteen years after the death of Ellen White.

"1. That there is one God, a personal, spiritual Being, the Creator of all things, omnipotent, omniscient, and eternal; infinite in wisdom, holiness, justice, goodness, truth, and mercy; unchangeable, and everywhere present by His representative, the Holy Spirit. Psalm 139:7.

2. That there is one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Eternal Father, the One by whom God created all things, and by whom they do consist...."

Where Christ is even among the humble few, this is Christ's church, for the presence of the High and Holy One who inhabiteth eternity can alone constitute a church.

LDE 180   “The church may appear as about to fall, but it does not fall.  It remains, while

Rev. 18:4  And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

(Emphasis Supplied) E. G. White quotes taken from EGW CD-ROM

"The God of heaven saw it fit to establish the Advent movement on a solid foundation of truth. This foundation included a correct understanding of who He is. The Advent band was not left to wander through the multiplied delusions of the spiritualizers. From the earliest visions God assured His children of the reality of His being. “I have often seen the lovely Jesus, that He is a person. I asked Him if His Father was a person and had a form like Himself. Said Jesus, “I am in the express image of My Father’s person.” I have often seen that the spiritual view took away all the glory of heaven […]” {E.G. White, Early Writings, p. 77}
The warning has come: Nothing is to be allowed to come in that will disturb the foundation of the faith upon which we have been building ever since the message came in 1842, 1843, and 1844. I was in this message, and ever since I have been standing before the world, true to the light that God has given us. We do not propose to take our feet off the platform on which they were placed as day by day we sought the Lord with earnest prayer, seeking for lightDo you think that I could give up the light that God has given me? It is to be as the Rock of Ages. (GCB April 6th1903)

I believe the "third" agency of the "Godhead" is simply ("God is a Spirit."=John 4:24) the PRESENCE and POWER of GOD HIMSELF sent to us through His Son. Christ is our ONLY MEDIATOR (1 Timothy 2:5, John 14:6) not ANOTHER Spirit (2 Corinthians 11:4) which we have been warned against called "God the Holy Spirit". God sends Himself to us through His Son and His Son passes or gives God to us in the measure or amount we are willing to surrender to God through Jesus. "To those that ask Him, Jesus imparts (gives us) the Holy Spirit"! (Selected Messages Book 1, p. 394.3) It is BOTH God and His Son who come to make their "abode" or "home" in our minds/vessels. John 14:23 "and we will come to him and make our home with him." "In giving us His Spirit, God gives us Himself, making Himself a fountain of divine influences, to give health and life to the world." –{Testimonies for the Church Volume 7, Page 273}

God sends Himself into Christ - Christ sends Himself into us - We become partakers of their Divine Spirit/nature - We share Christ with others - we believe in God through Christ - we ask all in the name of Christ. This is our birthright and anything else is stealing our birthright to Heaven.

"The indulgence of appetite affects them in all the relations of life. It is seen in their family, in their church, in the prayer meeting, and in the conduct of their childrenIt has been the curse of their lives. You cannot make them understandthe truths for these last days." —Counsels on Health, p. 152.

To secure the indulgence of appetite, Esau sacrificed his birthright. Afterward he saw his folly; but "when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected; for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears." Hebrews 12:17.

Jesus suffered and sweated blood for us! Surely we can ask Him to help us overcome our appetites! HE will help us if we but ask Him too! He died to help us, surely we can TRUST & OBEY HIM! God has a special diet, for special people in a special time. Click here to download this booklet by Gene Brown here.

Should WE sacrifice OUR birthright (given to us by Jesus and His Father) to ETERNAL LIFE and our Heavenly mansions by indulgence of appetite? Being justified by FAITH, we are members of God’s family—a fact we must never forget. The devil wants us to forfeit our birthright by indulging our cravings for unholy foods - do NOT let him steal your eternal life just by chewing and swallowing some "food or drink" that inhibits our mind and puts diseases into our bodies! God wants us well and Holy! He wants us to perform miracles for others to prove Him true - to point us to His wondrous gift of Himself to us and for us! Do YOU want to perform signs and wonders, healing miracles as a representative of GOD through His Son Jesus Christ? Start by asking Jesus to help you eat right! He will open your eyes!

"This is where many stumble; they waver between denial of appetite (lust of the flesh) and its indulgence, and finally are overcome by the enemy and yield the truth."—Testimonies, vol. 4, p. 31.

I claim Jer 33:3 nearly everyday. It is the most amazing verse and has transformed how I think and feel about everything in the past 2 years.

Here is a few texts that I have put together about who the true God is from the Bible and some SOP:
The TRUE God

It's very simple to know who the God-head is:

GOD is the HEAD of Christ, Christ is the head of Man, Man is the head of woman.

"But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ." 1 Corinthians 11:3

"And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's."
1 Corinthians 3:23

So there you have it - God IS the HEAD of Christ - the God=Head. God the Father is the ONLY IMMORTAL being (meaning cannot die)

After this great plan of Salvation is completed - Christ will give his authority that was given to Him back to his father and God:

Who is Jesus?

Matthew 11:27 "All things have been handed over to me by My Father..."

“It was a difficult task for the Prince of life to carry out the plan which He had undertaken for the salvation of man, in clothing His divinity with humanity. He had received honor in the heavenly courts, and was familiar with absolute power. It was as difficult for Him tokeep the level of humanity as for men to rise above the low level of their depraved natures and be partakers of the divine nature.”
S.D.A. Bible Commentary Vol. 7, p. 930.1RH April 1, 1875, par. 2

After the plan of Salvation is completed, Jesus will give the Authority God gave Him BACK to His Father and His God...so will we give the Authority Jesus gave us back to Jesus:

"And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all." 1 Corinthians 15:28 (KJV)

1 Corinthians 15:24 "Then the end will come, when he (Jesus) hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he (Jesus) has destroyed all dominion, authority and power." King James Version (KJV) "Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power." Amplified Bible (AMP) "After that comes the end (the completion), when He (Jesus) delivers over the kingdom to God the Father after rendering inoperative a

God speaking to His Son in Heb 1:9 said:

Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore Godeven thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

1 Corinthians 3:23 and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

Ephesians 1:22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,

Galatians 3:29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

"Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live." 1 Corinthians 8:6

Ephesians 4:6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,

Hebrews 1:2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.

Note: Prior to being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, Jesus was born in heaven. He was twice born, once in Heaven and once on earth. He truly is the ONLY Son of His immortal eternal Father, GOD. He has been MADE equal by his Father, with his Father. GOD says when Jesus says or does something he has authority from His Father GOD; listen to Him as you would me; I back him all the way. When Christ speaks it is as though his Father is speaking.  Hebrews 1:3 says “by inheritance has he obtained a name”. Like the son will inherit his Father’s name. So is Christ able to speak on behalf of the only true GOD the Father [John 17:3-5]. “He has declared his Father’s name” [John 17:26].

John 16:27 "For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God."

"As Christ was twice born, once in eternity, the only begotten of the Father, and again here in the flesh, thus uniting the divine with the human in that second birth, so we, who have been born once already in the flesh, are to have the second birth, being born again of the Spirit, in order that our experience may be the same, the human and the divine being joined in a life union." W.W. PRESCOTT Review and Herald, April 14, 1896 p. 232.

"He was born of the Holy Ghost. In other words, Jesus Christ was born again. He came from heaven, GOD's first- born, to the earth, and was born again, But all in Christ's work goes by opposites for us: he, the sinless one, was made to be sin, in order that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. He, the living one, the prince and author of life, died that we might live. He whose goings forth have been from the days of eternity, the first-born of GOD, was born again, in order that we might be born again."

"If Jesus Christ had never been born again, could you and I have ever been born again? No. But he was born again, from the world of righteousness into the world of sin; that we might be born again, from the world of sin into the world of righteousness. He was born again, and was made partaker of the human nature, that we might be born again, and so made partakers of the divine nature. He was born again, unto earth, unto sin, and unto man, that we might be born again unto heaven, unto righteousness, and unto God." Review and Herald, Aug. 1, 1899 (Lessons on Faith p. 154.)

People who don't believe this (that Jesus was twice born - John 16:27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.) - this is the ANTI-Christ doctrine - they do not remain in the doctrine of Christ, but believe in ANOTHER Jesus (2 Corinthians 11:3-4):

"He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath BOTH the Father and the Son." 2 John 1:9

2 John 1:9 Amplified Bible (AMP) "Anyone who runs on ahead [of God] and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ [who is not content with what He taught] does not have God; but he who continues to live in the doctrine (teaching) of Christ [does have God], he has
both the Father and the Son."

2 Corinthians 11:3-4

King James Version (KJV)

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear (beware of) with him.

Yes, that is a very good quote. I have studied it in great detail. Here is a very in depth short paper on this very topic: http://www.keepandshare.com/doc/2742678/25488663-theos-5-struggle-over-spirit-5-pdf-april-12-2011-10-19-pm-1-7-meg?da=y

She also says exactly what the "Holy Spirit" is:

"The DIVINE SPIRIT that the world’s Redeemer promised to send IS the PRESENCE andPOWER OF God."  ST November 23, 1891, par. 1

Who is God?

"God is the head of Christ." 1 Corinthians 11:3 - Therefore God the Father is the Godhead. His Divinity dwells in Christ.

Thus the plan of salvation can be summed up in two scripture passages.

The first is 2 Cor. 5:19

". . .God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself."

The second Col. 1:27

" ... Christ in you the hope of glory."

John 16:27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. John 14:20

John 10:38 But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."

John 14:10 Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.
John 14:11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves.
John 16:23 In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.
John 16:26 In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf.

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." John 15:7

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. John 15:4

"But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." 1 Corinthians 8:6

"A knowledge of God is the foundation of all true education and of all true service." (Ellen White, Testimonies for the Church, vol. 8, pages 292, 293)

We have been given considerable counsel on this important topic. We are told that “silence is golden” in the area of discussing the “nature” of the Spirit, of what it is.

“It is not essential for us to be able to define  just  what  the  Holy  Spirit  is. Christ tells
us that the Spirit is the Comforter, ‘the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth  from  the  Father.’”
Acts  of the   Apostles,   p.   51   1911;   letter   to Brother Chapman June 11, 1891; Manu-
script Release volume 14, No. 1107

“The nature of the Holy Spirit is a mystery. Men cannot explain it, because the  Lord  has  not
revealed  it  to  them.…Regarding such mysteries, which are too deep   for   human   understanding, silence is golden.” Acts of the Apostles, p. 52

But we must know Who the Holy Spirit is. Our eternal destiny depends on who we worship. A case of mistaken identity here will be lethal. Will we worship the Lamb or unknowingly the Lamb-like Beast?

Scripture clearly reveals the Spirit of God in personal terms with traits and attributes that are
distinctly personal. The Spirit is said to

Know the things of God (1Cor 2:11)
Search our hearts (1Cor 2:10)
Speak to us (Acts 1:16;8:29;Rev 2:7)
Teach us (Luke 12:12;John 14:26)
Direct us (Acts 8:29;11:12;16:6;10:20)
Guide (John 16:13)
Hear (John 16:13)
Help (Rom 8:26)
Wash, Justify, Sanctify (1Cor 6:11)
Groan and intercede for us (Rom 8:26)
Witness to us (Acts 20:23;Heb 10:15)
Reprove, convict (John 16:8)
Intercede (Rom 8:26)
Be grieved (Eph 4:30)
Be blasphemed (Mark 3:29)

The Bible also reveals a human spirit as having the same attributes.

If you'd like to study this topic, you can download a printer friendly short paper it from one of my download sites:

Christ IMPARTS or GIVES us the Spirit (God IS a Spirit and He is Holy)

John 4:24 "God is spirit"

Remember Friend,
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and WE will come unto him, and make OUR abode with him. (Notice it's the Father and the Son who makes their home INSIDE US? Not three, onlytwo beings live inside us by their Spirit.)

Romans 8:9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

The disciples had a hard time understanding the "Holy" Spirit also, as do many today. The disciples did not believe the "Holy" Spirit was anyone other than  Christ. (God IN Christ reconciling the world back to Himself!) God is Spirit and He IS Holy!)

"The Saviour has given the promise of His presence to all who labor in the spirit of true service. "All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth," He says; "go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." As you present the Word to your hearers, claim this promise of Christ's presenceThere is no day, no hour of the day, when He will not be near you by His Holy SpiritHe is in every meeting that is held in His name. His promise is given for as long as time shall last." AUCR, December 30, 1907 par. 3

"Christ gave his followers a positive promise that after his ascension he would send them his Spirit. "Go ye therefore," he said, "and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father [a personal God], and of the Son [a personal Prince and Saviour], and of the Holy Ghost [sent from heaven to represent Christ]: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world."" RH, October 26, 1897 par. 9

Note from the two quotes above that it is Christ who is with us by His own "Holy" Spirit. This truth is also confirmed from "The Desire of Ages":

While Jesus ministers in the sanctuary above, He is still by His Spirit the minister of the church on earth. He is withdrawn from the eye of sense, but His parting promise is fulfilled, "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Matt. 28:20. While He delegates His power to inferior ministers, His energizing presence is still with His church. DA 166

When Jesus ascended saying I will send the comforter to you...

2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord (Jesus) is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.  John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." More about this here:  https://sites.google.com/site/theendtimewarning/the-trinity-on-trial

1 Corinthians 8:6 (KJV) "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him."

John 17:23  I in them, and you in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them, as you have loved me.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (Notice it's the Father and the Son who makes their home INSIDE US? Not three, only two beings live inside us by their Spirit.)   Romans 8:9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:23 and ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.  1 Corinthians 11:3 Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

Answer; The Holy Spirit is certainly a living person. It is the person of Christ, His very life with His church. Jesus lives inside consecrated commandment keeping bodies. It is Jesus INVISIBLE, walking UNSEEN beside us and INSIDE us, helping us to be SIN-FREE!

While Jesus ministers in the sanctuary above, He is still by His Spirit the minister of the church on earth. He is withdrawn from the eye of sense, but His parting promise is fulfilled, "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Matt. 28:20. While He delegates His power to inferior ministers, His energizing presence is still with His church.  {DA 166.2}

This is why Jesus could promise;

I will come to you.

I will never leave you nor forsake you.

I am with you always even unto the end of the world.

Where two or three are gathered in my name there am I in the midst of them.

Please tell me is Jesus with you now in the body (physically), or is He with you by His Holy Spirit?

If you still want to make the Holy Spirit someone else, then someone else is with you not Jesus?

Look at who inspiration says is the true comforter;

“Christ gives them the breath of His own Spirit, the life of His own life.” MH 159

If you disbelieve the SOP, how do you answer Jn 20:22

John 20:22  And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

The Word of God here gives us a practical illustration of the impartation of the Spirit; which is the life of Christ, it is His very own breath.

It is a part of Him, Jesus, not someone else, how can anyone not see the practical implication of this inspired text?

The rejection of this evidence shows a deeper problem than lack of discernment, because the evidence is far too clear, even young children get this.

Eph 4:4  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

Question; who is the 3rd living person of the heavenly trio?

While Jesus ministers in the sanctuary above, He is still by His Spirit the minister of the church on earth. He is withdrawn from the eye of sense, but His parting promise is fulfilled, "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Matt. 28:20. While He delegates His power to inferior ministers, His energizing presence is still with His church.  {DA 166.2}

Authority on Earth. For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. (Mark 13: 34)

"Cumbered with humanity, Christ could not be in every place personally; therefore it was altogether for their advantage that He should leave them, go to His father, and send them Holy Spirit to be His successor on earth. The Holy Spirit is Himself divested of the personality of humanity and independent thereof. He would represent Himself as present in all places by His Holy Spirit, as the Omnipresent. "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall (although unseen by you), [THIS PHRASE WAS ADDED BY ELLEN WHITE.] teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you" [John 14:26]. "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will come not unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you" [John 16:7].  {14MR 23.3}

The prophet of the Lord states clearly that the Holy Spirit is Christ Himself.

They have one God and one Saviour; and one Spirit--the Spirit of Christ--is to bring unity into their ranks.  {9T 189.3}

The impartation of the Spirit is the impartation of the life of Christ.  {DA 805.3}

With his Spirit Christ sends a reconciling influence and a power that takes away sin.  {RH, May 19, 1904 par. 1}

"And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their sight. Luke 24:31". Vanished from their SIGHT! He now has become invisible to us as the "third personality" of the Godhead as their (God and Jesus) "Holy" Spirit, the comforter. Jesus is walking right beside us today as He did with the disciples, only INVISIBLE.   The truth is that God dwells within us by His Spirit and that the Spirit of God is in the Lord Jesus Christ. This is about as plain as it gets (at least to me!) about the Holy Spirit/Divine Influences that Christ IMPARTS to us when we ask Him for it:

"The DIVINE SPIRIT that the world’s Redeemer promised to send IS the PRESENCE andPOWER of God."
ST November 23, 1891, par. 1

"In giving us His Spirit, God gives us Himself, making Himself a fountain of divine influences, to give health and life to the world." –{Testimonies for the Church Volume 7, Page 273}

Remember, GOD the Father, is a Spirit. John 4:24 "God is spirit"

The divine influences that come in answer to the prayer of faith will accomplish in the soul of the suppliant all for which he pleads." The Acts of the Apostles, p. 564.1

The Holy Spirit is given to us in the amount of our desire for IT =Presence & Power of God: "The measure of the Holy Spirit we receive will be proportioned to the measure of our desire and the faith exercised for itand the use we shall make of the light and knowledge (perfecting testing messages) that shall be given to us." --{RH May 5, 1896, Last Day Events, p. 188.5}

"A knowledge of God is the foundation of all true education and of all true service." (Ellen White, Testimonies for the Church, vol. 8, pages 292, 293)

King James Version (KJV)

19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. (The presence of the Lord is his character (his thoughts and feelings) What is your character? "The thoughts and feelings combined make up the moral character." Messages to Young People, p. 92.1

His presence if manifested by us is shown forth by our character - our thoughts and our feelings toward others.

  2. A person or thing that exists or is present in a place but is not seen: "the monks became aware of a strange presence".

And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you.

In 1904, Ellen White wrote, “Be not deceived, many will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. We have now before us the alpha of this danger. The omega will be of a most startling nature.” Selected Messages Book 1, p. 197.4.

In his second letter the apostle Peter sets forth the divine plan for developing Christian character. He writes: God “has granted to us His precious and very great promises, that through these you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of passion, and become partakers of the divine nature.”

“Make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.”

The apostle presents before the believers the ladder of Christian progress. Every step represents advancement in the knowledge of God. We are saved by climbing round after round to the height of Christ’s ideal for us. God desires to see men and women reaching the highest standard; and when by faith they lay hold of Christ, when they claim His promises as their own, when they seek for the Holy Spirit, they will be made complete in Him.

Having received the faith of the gospel, the believer is to add to his character virtue, and thus prepare the mind for the knowledge of God. This knowledge is the foundation of all true service and the only real safeguard against temptation. This alone can make one like Godin character. No good gift is withheld from him who sincerely desires the righteousness of God. From Trials to Triumph, p. 278.4

"Unless we are daily advancing in the exemplification of the active Christian virtues (
 love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, m
eekness, temperance)
, we shall not recognize the manifestations of the Holy Spirit ("The Lord (Jesus) is that Spirit." 2 Cor 3:17) in the latter rain (perfecting testing messages). It may be falling on hearts all around us, but we shall not discern or receive it." (TM 507) Now isn't that a scary thought that we shall not discern or receive it??? UNLESS we are repenting of our sins and changing our everyday "little" choices into right ones.

Who is the comforter? Who is it that our Lord God sends to help us? Read this plain testimony of who it is that really helps us when "the times of refreshing or "latter rain" shall come from the presence of God the Father!!!

"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; and he shall send Jesus." Acts 3:19, 20. 20 The work will be similar to that of the Day of Pentecost." (GC 611-612) Very plain isn't it? God shall send Jesus to help us! "The outpouring of the Spirit in the days of the apostles was the beginning of the early, or former, rain, and glorious was the result. To the end of time the presence of the Spirit is to abide with the true church."--AA 54, 55 (1911).

Without the Spirit of God a knowledge of His word is of no avail. The theory of truth, unaccompanied by the Holy Spirit, cannot quicken the soul or sanctify the heart. One may be familiar with the commands and promises of the Bible; but unless the Spirit of God sets the truth home, the character will not be transformedWithout the enlightenment of the Spirit, men will not be able to distinguish truth from error, and they will fall under the masterful temptations of Satan. {COL 408.3}

Pentecost: The visible Jesus ascended to Heaven and then returned by His own Divine invisible omnipresent (able to be everywhere all the time) Spirit. Jesus did not send someone else to us, but came Himself to comfort and be with us during our trials and time of need.

This is about as plain as it gets (at least to me!) about the Holy Spirit/Divine Influences that Christ IMPARTS to us when we ask Him for it:

W.W. Prescott and Waggoner- I do understand that they LEFT the truth - but they did HAVE the truth in 1888. So we have to pray for clear discernment so we will not be led astray. What year did they fall away from the truth? And, what did they teach that was wrong? God will guide us when we earnestly seek His Wisdom (Jesus).

The Truth About God

In an attempt to study a subject like this one there are two basic facts we need to bear in mind. The first is  that the Bible, the Holy Scriptures, are the words of God, and are referred to more specifically as, "The written word." The second fact is that Jesus is also called "The Word" (John. 1:1,2,14) and He is referred to more specifically as "The Living Word."

With these two basic facts in mind. Let us look at the deeper aspects of what God has revealed to us about Himself in His own inspired word (2 Tim. 3:16).

In Mark 12:28 the Bible tells of a scribe who came to Jesus with a question. His question was simply this: "Which is the greatest commandment of all?" Jesus responded to his question by quoting Deuteronomy 6:4. In verse 29 Jesus answered him this way:

‘The first of all the commandments is, hear O Israel the Lord our God is one Lord."

Having heard this answer, the scribe said to Jesus,

"Well Master Thou hast said the truth, for there is one God and there is none other but He."

(Mark 12:32)

Jesus said of His Heavenly Father that He was ‘ONE’ singular, and the scribe said He was absolutely correct.

In His last prayer recorded by John in the 17th chapter of the book of John, Jesus made the same declaration, listen to what He said in verse 3:- "And this is Life eternal that they might know Thee the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent." Jesus did not refer to Himself as God, did He? Jesus called HIS Heavenly Father the ONLY true God, didn’t He? And Jesus made a distinction between Himself and the only true God, didn’t He? Sure He did!

In Matt 19:16,17 there was a rich young ruler who wanted to know what to do to get eternal life so he came to Jesus and he did not call Him by His earthly name. Let’s see how he greeted Jesus, and how Jesus responded. "And behold one came and said unto him, Good Master..." What did he call Jesus? Sure! "GOOD MASTER." And what was Jesus’ response? He (Jesus) said unto him, "why callest Thou me good? There is none good but One that is God!"

This question may really sound strange but let’s answer it anyway. If a couple means two how many does ONE mean? You are probably thinking how strange that question is. One is one, and it cannot be anymore. Right?

Some time ago back in the Old Testament the children of Israel were held as slaves in Egypt for about four hundred years. They were living right in the heart of pagan sun worship, and this corrupted their true concept of God. After delivering them from the Egyptian bondage God had to deal with one of the most insidious falsehoods ever fostered on mankind. So from the top of Mount Sinai He thundered down this command in Loud and clear tones. "Thou shalt have no other Gods before ME." What was the very Last word in that statement! Sure it is "ME" – singular. Read it carefully and make sure it does not say "US" plural.

It is a known fact that the Egyptians were pagan sun worshippers and under the leadership of Nimrod the grandson of Noah they built a city called Babylon (Babel). Nimrod got the people to love him and eventually to worship him as god. His wife Semiramis and her son Tammuz were also worshipped. They were worshipped together as the ‘Heavenly Trio.’ So God had an important message for His people. As they stood at the foot of the mount He told them they had one God and one God only.

Before his death. Moses gathered all the people together and like a father speaking to his children, Moses told them that there was only one way that they could have a long, happy and prosperous life. In Deuteronomy 6:4,5 he says this,

"Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord, and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul and with all thy might."

Moses wanted the people to understand that our heavenly Father is to get the major portion of our love and affections in order that we may be happy and prosperous. Thus a full understanding of who God is, is very important. Remember the scribe in Mark 12? When Jesus heard his testimony about God, He said to him "Thou art not far from the Kingdom of God." (vs 34) – Likewise in His last prayer in John 17:3, the Lord tells us that eternal life hangs upon our concept of God and our acceptance of Him. In other words it is more than a matter of simply losing your life, here and now. It is a matter of either living eternally or not ever existing again,

Paul understood the truth of scripture that there is only one God, so in writing to the Corinthians, he said this:

"But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things and we in Him, and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by Him"

(1 Cor. 8:6)

In his letter to Timothy Paul says this:

"Now unto the King eternal , immortal invisible, the only wise God, be glory and honour forever and ever amen."

(1 Tim 1:17) He also stated in 1 Tim. 2:5:-

"For them is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

In writing to the Christians at Ephesus Paul told them the same truth about the Father. In Ephesians 4:4–6 he says this:

"There is one body and one spirit even as you are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, ONE GOD and Father of all who is above all and through all and in you all."

Do you know why we have been looking at these Biblical statements? In order for you to grasp the tremendous significance of this widely accepted falsehood, that there are three Gods in one and one God in three. Can you see that it is a concrete fact that our heavenly Father is the foremost being in the entire universe? He is the one supreme Being and from Him comes all life and force. The Bible tells us that God the Father is the only true God... period!

What about Jesus, Who is He?

Let us see the answer God has already given us in one New Testament statement. You will find it in Matt. 3:16,17.

"And Jesus when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water and lo the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon Him and a voice from heaven saying this is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased."

Who did God say Jesus was! Sure, His Son, right? God’s word has a lot to say about Christ’s true relationship to God. Probably one of the most familiar and most quoted verses in the Bible is John 3:16. Before you start to quote it look at it again and particularly one crucial phrase we usually skim over:

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only BEGOTTEN SON. . ." In the original language from which the Bible was translated, the word translated as only begotten also means "only offspring" or "only."

Thus Jesus was the only offspring or seed of God! In the 5th Chapter of John. Jesus says this of Himself in vs. 36:

"1 have greater witness than that of John (the baptist) for the works which the Father has given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me that the Father hath sent me."

He made the same claim He made in vs. 30, which is, "the Father hath sent me."

In the 14th chapter of John. Jesus spake of His departure from this world and His return again. Look at what He says in vs 28:

"ye have heard how I said to you, l go away and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I go unto the Father: For My Father is greater than I."

Add to that what He said in John 14:10:

"I speak not of Myself; but the Father that dwelleth in me. He doeth the work."

Did you grasp those amazing claims Jesus just made? He said that He spoke only the things His heavenly Father taught Him. Another time He said He could do nothing of Himself. But the most amazing thing He said was that the Father was dwelling in Him while He was here on earth!

GOD’S SPIRIT WAS IN HIM!!!

In the divine program and government of God there is an unmistakable chain of command. Unquestionably, God our heavenly Father reigns supreme, and our Lord Jesus Christ stands next to Him. Jesus said, "For my Father is greater than I."

There are two superimportant passages we must Examine before we go any further, because they show clearly when Jesus was brought forth and when He was crowned as equal to God. The first passage is found in the New Testament in Heb. 1:1-5. See if you can picture this overwhelming scene.

"God who at sundry (various) times and in divers (different) manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, By whom also He made the worlds (Look at this next statement); who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person (He looked just like His Father), and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they (God gave His Son an inheritance isn’t that great! Lets see What that inheritance was). For unto which of the angels said He at any time, thou art my son, this DAY have I BEGOTTEN thee?"

Just think beloved that there was a certain specific day when God brought forth His Son .... Way, way back (even though it is impossible to think back that far into the past) God brought forth His Son! There was a time when Christ was not in existence! Way back at sometime far beyond our comprehension and imagination Christ Jesus issued forth from God the Father. Amazing isn’t it,

Continuing with the questions. This question was asked in vs. 6.

"And again I will be to Him a Father and He shall be to Me a Son. And again when he bringeth in the FIRST BEGOTTEN into the world He saith and let all the angels of God worship Him."

At a specific point in time, God the Father brought His Son Christ Jesus right beside Him and told all the angels that now Christ was to be worshipped like Himself. This is proclaiming Christ as Divine and worthy of praise and adoration. Therefore there was a point and time when Christ was set up as equal divinity. Vs. 8 makes this clear: "But unto His Son He saith Thy throne 0 God is forever and ever." It will last forever. Isn’t it amazing how we read something in scripture that was always there and when the truth of it reaches you, it seems new?

There is an astonishing Old Testament passage that is almost a perfect parallel to what we just read in Heb. 1, only this passage goes on to tell us when these thing happened to Christ Jesus. That passage is found in Prov. 8:22-30. Here is what it says,

"The Lord (God the Father) possessed me in the beginning of His way before His works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was"

When did the Father set His Son before the angels of heaven and all the unfallen Universe and tell them that He was now to be worshipped like He Himself was? Sure! Before the earth was created. Let’s continue and we will see this clearly.

"When there was no depths (of the sea) I was brought forth: when there was no fountains (rivers and lakes) abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, was I brought forth."

That is quite clear isn’t it? It was before the creation of the earth. As we read on it becomes more evident that it was before planet earth and our solar system were created.

"While as yet He had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest parts of the dust of the world, when He prepared the heavens (surrounding our planet) I was there. When He set a compass upon the face of the deep, when he established the clouds above, when He strengthened the fountains of the deep; when He gave to the sea His decree, that the waters should not pass His commandment; when We appointed the foundations of the earth: then I was by Him, (watch this) as one brought up with Him and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him." (Prov. 8:22-31)

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ declares that He existed before He came to this earth. We know that, because He said so several times in the New Testament. But in this passage He takes us back to the time He was BEGOTTEN. Look again at what He said:

"Then I was by Him as one brought up with Him and I was daily His delight rejoicing always before Him."

God’s word establishes the fact that there is only one supreme being. One God over and above all. It clearly tells us that God brought forth a Son and He came into being through His Father’s omnipotent miraculous powers. Therefore the Son has not been in existence as long as His Father, because naturally the Father is always older than His Son.

THE MISSING THIRD PERSON

To come to a full understanding of this tremendous truth, that God is inspiring humans to re-discover in these closing days of time, Let’s look first at a strange and puzzling revelation. In Matt 25:31 Jesus says:

"When the Son of man shall come in all His glory and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory."

Add to that text Rev 3:21 which says,

"To Him that overcometh will 1 grant to sit with Me in My throne even as I also overcame and am set down with My Father in His throne"

So far you have seen that God has a throne and His Son has a throne. NO ONE ELSE!!

There are two reminders of this fact in the last book of the Bible, Revelation. In chapter 21:22, 23 we read:

"And 1 saw no temple therein for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb (Jesus Christ) are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun neither of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God did lighten it and the Lamb is the light thereof."

There was no temple, sun or moon, because God and His Son were there! Of course you will realize that the term Lamb is a symbolic term for Jesus who was slain as a lamb for you and me. OK! In Rev. 22:1,3 John says:

"And he showed me a pure river of water of life clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. And there shall be no more curse; but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it."

This is so strange at first because there is nowhere in the entire Bible that tells of any one else having a throne in heaven but God and His Son!! Then it is even more strange when you cannot find any dignitaries on the new earth except God, His Son, the faithful angels and the redeemed. There is someone missing, Isn’t there? I mean if the doctrine of the Trinity is correct, then there must be another throne for the third God or even if He doesn’t have a throne He should even be mentioned as being in heaven or on the new earth!!

According to the scripture Satan has always wanted to be leader in heaven and in all the universe. God quoted Lucifer’s evil ambitions in Isaiah 14:14, "1 will be Like the Most High."And one of the most dangerous blasphemous Lies ever to be fostered on the unsuspecting people of planet earth is the one designed to place Satan in that position where he fulfills his obsessions to be like God! Let me explain: When the Roman Catholic church made real compromises with the pagan Romans, in order to get them to become Christians they allowed those sun worshippers to became members and still cling to their beliefs. Gradually the church changed many of its own beliefs and modified them so the pagan worshippers would be more comfortable. One of the most drastic alterations of true Christianity was the acceptance of the pagan concept of three Gods in one and one God in three persons. The sun worshippers had Nimrod, Semiramis and Tammuz, as a pagan Trinity, so it was easy for them to accept, God the Father, God the Son, and (Watch this) God the Holy Spirit!!! Satan had a trinity and now the Catholic Church has a trinity which she has established in every denomination and religious body.

Nowhere in scripture will you find it even hinting that there are three separate distinct Gods. The Bible does not suggest that there were three individuals involved in the creation of the world! John 1:10 and Heb. 1:2 and many other passages makes it clear that there were two and just two: God the Father and Jesus Christ His Son.

If that sounds really wayout, then let’s consider the facts. The book is St. John and the place is chapter 14. May I say this is one of the most reassuring statements Jesus made to us before He left earth to go back to heaven. In this passage Jesus said some things that the vast majority of Christians have missed for centuries! John 14:16 reads this way,

"And I will pray the Father and He will give you another Comforter that He may abide with you forever."

Who did Jesus say will live with us forever? Was it the Comforter, or was it Christ, the Comforter, lets see the answer. Vs. 17.

"Even the Spirit of Truth: whom the world cannot receive because it seeth Him not neither knoweth Him. But ye know him, for (or because) He dwelleth with you (present) and shall be in you (future)."

Wait a minute! Did you see that friend? Who did the disciples know then? Pentecost had not yet come. Who was dwelling with them? Wasn’t it Jesus? Sure it was! Now if that is not clear enough, look at verse 18: "I will not leave you comfortless. I will come to you." Man that’s strong!!! Now you see, don’t you? Jesus said He would be the Comforter. Thus the Comforter would simply be the INVISIBLE CHRIST that would be in them.

The reason why the Bible speaks of Jesus and the Holy Ghost as one, and the same, is because they are really the same. Here is further proof. In Hebrews 3:7-11, you will find the same author talking about the Holy Ghost leading the children of Israel through the wilderness. Yet you know that it was Jesus Christ. Paul goes on to quote Jesus and contributes it to the Holy Spirit. In Romans 8:9 Paul brings out a stunning truth. Here it is:

"But ye art not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the SPIRIT OF GOD dwell in you. Now if any man have not the SPIRIT OF CHRIST he is none of His."

God’s word said that the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ are the same.

Because of this fact an amazing explanation explodes before us. The reason why we find the term "Holy Spirit" is simply because God and Christ Jesus are Holy. It is their Spirit, so you have the term "Holy Spirit". Remember John 20:22? Jesus came to His disciples and did something. Let us see what He did:

"And when He (Jesus) had said this. He breathed on them (the disciples) and said receive ye the Holy Ghost."

They did receive Christ’s Spirit, didn’t they! David asked the Lord a question and went on to answer. In Psalm 139:7-10 you’ll find this recorded:

"Whither shall I go from Thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from Thy presence?"

David said the Lord’s Spirit is the same as His presence.

"If I ascend up into heaven thou art there; If I make my bed in hell behold thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there shall Thy hand lead me and thy right hand shall hold me."

Therefore the Spirit of God is His real, tangible, personal presence.

In Jeremiah 23:23,24 God says He can be right here with us in a personal way and be in heaven, all at the same time.

"Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? Saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? Saith the Lord."

Therefore, God can pour out His Spirit on any believer anywhere in the entire universe. His Spirit guides, impresses and convicts human beings just as strongly as if He were present physically and visibly.

All through the scriptures we read of the Spirit of God and of the Spirit of Christ. If the Holy Spirit was a real tangible God as the Father and His Son, why do we not read of the Spirit of the Spirit? Think about that!!!

Therefore the disciples could not realize the presence of the Holy Spirit as long as Jesus was with them. But when He went away, the Spirit came. This made Jesus present with everyone everywhere. Jesus could now be with one individual in one city, and with another believer in another city in another country all at the same time. Let me put it another way. Christ Jesus is our personal Saviour. Where ever we may be He will go with us. He is also the Comforter He promised to send to us from the Father. Only it is another form of Himself.

Satan through the Catholic Church has sold to the world a counterfeit sanctuary service; a counterfeit salvation and a counterfeit holy day of rest and worship. DON’T LET HIM SELL YOU A COUNTERFEIT COMFORTER !!! And don’t sell yourself out to him through the false doctrine of the TRINITY.

THE GODHEAD

By now you probably have seen enough Bible facts to have a solid foundation of faith, and you probably have also come to the realization that there is absolutely no such doctrine as the "TRINITY" in the Bible. So then you are now ready to discover the truth about a widely used term "THE GODHEAD." In the entire Bible you’ll find this word mentioned just three times. Let’s look at all three briefly.

The first is Acts 17:29.

"For as much then as we are the offspring of God we ought not to think that the GODHEAD is like unto gold, or silver, or stone graven by art and man’s device."

The second is Romans 1:20.

"For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made even His eternal power and GODHEAD."

The third is Col. 2:9.

"For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the GODHEAD bodily."

Now please answer this question. Were those passages talking about three Gods in one and one God in three? Before you answer, examine this fact: In each one of those passages where the word GODHEAD is found, it comes from the Greek root word THEOS. And THEOS simply means Divinity, Divine, Divine Nature, or Deity. From this word THEOS, we get the word theology which means the study of Divinity. When you examine those three verses you find that they are all talking about God, the Father, the Supreme Deity. And the plain simple truth is that the Father is the GODHEAD. That’s what Paul says in 1 Cor. 11:3.

"But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ and the head of the woman is the man, and (Watch this) the HEAD OF CHRIST IS GOD."

Therefore God the Father is the Godhead.

Beloved you are faced with a decision of eternal consequences. Will you obey the word of God or the word of man? Surely you will accept the word of God and reject this false satan-inspired, man-made Trinity doctrine. WONT YOU?

Authority of the Son

AUTHORITY

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon him…. the likeness of a man.”
Philippians 2:5.6. (This text is clearer if changed to the positive. “Jesus…. knew it was His right to be equal with God and not something He needed to take by force.”)

“The Son was the brightness of the Father’s glory, and the express image of His person. He possessed divine excellence and greatness. He was equal with God. It pleased the Father that in him all fullness should dwell. He “though it not robbery to be equal with God”. Yet He “made Himself of no reputation, and… was made in the likeness of men’.”
Review & Herald. Dec 31. 1872.

The prophet says Christ is “equal with God, infinite and omnipotent.”
Manuscript 101. 1897. Manuscript Release Vol 12. p395.

AUTHORITY GIVEN

“God is the Father of Christ; Christ is the Son of God. To Christ has been given an exalted position. He has been made equal with the Father. All the counsels of God are opened to His Son.”
 8 Testimonies p268. (1904).

“The Son of God was next in authority to the great Lawgiver…. He was of as much more value than man as his noble, spotless character, and exalted office as commander of all the heavenly host were above the work of man. He was in the express image of His Father, not in features alone, but in perfection of character.”
Review & Herald. Dec 17. 1872.

LUCIFER’S JEALOUSY

“Little by little Lucifer came to indulge the desire for self-exaltation…. Though all his glory was from God, this mighty angel came to regard it as pertaining to himself. Not content with his position…. He ventured to covet homage due alone to the Creator…. And coveting the glory with which the infinite Father had invested His Son, this prince of angels aspired to power that was the prerogative of Christ alone…

The King of the universe summoned the heavenly hosts before Him, that in their presence He might set forth the true position of His Son…. The Son of God shared the Father’s throne, and the glory of the eternal, self-existent One encircled both… Before the assembled inhabitants of heaven the King declared that…. The Son of God had wrought the Father’s will…. And to Him, as well as to God, their homage and allegiance were due….

The angels joyfully acknowledged the supremacy of Christ, and prostrating themselves before Him poured out their love and adoration. Lucifer bowed with them, but…. The high honors conferred upon Lucifer were not appreciated as God’s special gift… angels delighted to execute his commands… Yet the Son of God was exalted above him, as one in power and authority with the Father. He shared the Father’s counsels, while Lucifer did not thus enter into the purposes of God.

‘Why?’ questioned this mighty angel, ‘should Christ have the supremacy? Why is he honored above Lucifer?’….

The exaltation of the Son of God as equal with the Father was represented as an injustice to Lucifer, who, it was claimed, was also entitled to reverence and honor…. But now even the liberty which they had enjoyed was at an end; for an absolute ruler had been appointed them, and to His authority all must pay homage.

There had been no change in the position or authority of Christ. Lucifer’s envy and misrepresentation and his claims to equality with Christ had made necessary a statement of the true position of the Son of God; but this had been the same from the beginning…

While there was no open outbreak, division of feeling imperceptibly grew up among the angels… There were some who looked with favor upon Lucifer’s insinuations… they were dissatisfied with His (God’s) purpose in exalting Christ. These stood ready to second Lucifer’s demand for equal authority with the Son of God… But angels who were loyal and true maintained the wisdom and justice of the divine decree and endeavored to reconcile this disaffected being to the will of God.”

Give Him Glory

BE NOT DECEIVED

In 1904, Ellen White wrote, “Be not deceived, many will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. We have now before us the alpha of this danger. The omega will be of a most startling nature”
Selected Messages Book 1, p. 197.4

We understanding clearly the alpha of deadly heresies, but what about the omega? Many have put forward different ideas because the prophet did not seem to identify it. But perhaps the following words are actually the key that unlocks the mystery surrounding this heresy. The prophet said it would be “of a most startling nature”, and she “trembled for our people”.
Selected Messages Book 1, p. 203.2. The message continues,

“We need to study the words that Christ uttered in the prayer that He offered just before His trial and crucifixion. “These words spake Jesus, and lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said, ‘Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son that thy Son also may glorify thee: as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. I have glorified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world; thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.”
 (John 17:1-6.
Selected Messages Book 1, p. 197.5.

Why did the prophet link both the alpha and the omega to this prayer of Jesus? Was it because the alpha was the beginning of deadly heresies that would culminate in the omega, both failing to give glory to the Father and the Son?

We would do well to follow the counsel of the prophet and study Jesus’ prayer with all diligence. The warning has been given.

Because Ellen White spoke of the omega making its presence felt “in a little while”
 (
 Selected Messages Book 1, p. 203.2), we understand that it must have arisen some time after the alpha. Seeing this was stated in 1904, we assume it was to take place in those early years. This being so, many of us have believed it has been and gone, and no danger to those living in the 21st century.

This is what Satan wants us to think.

When Sister White met the alpha, it was brought to nothing, however, “the omega…. will be received by those who are not willing to heed the warning God has given

 Selected Messages Book 1, p. 200.1.

If men and women accepted the omega during the early 1900s, there is no doubt they would have passed it on, otherwise there is no need for the prophet to tremble.

And it is also clear that the omega must have had something to do with the platform of truth upon which the Advent movement stood, or it would not be so serious.

When Sister White saw Dr Kellogg
(implied) in vision “directing this man and that man to loosen the timbers supporting this platform, she said it was a foundation “built by the Master Worker”, relating to the “past experience of the people of God”. 1 Selected Messages p204.

It is important the vision concerning Dr Kellogg be connected with the “enemy of souls seeking to bring about a great reformation among Seventh-day Adventists”
(1 SM 204), for this is explaining exactly what the doctor was attempting to do with the alpha of deadly heresy. He was not successful in re-forming the church, but with the omega it will be different. It would, in actual fact, take place.

Below is a summary of the reformation that will take place under the omega.

1. The doctrines of the church will be changed, forming as new religion and a completely new organisation.

2. The beliefs of the pioneers will be accounted as error.

3. New books will be written containing the new doctrines.

4. Nothing will stop this new movement, except the tempest of God at the end, when it will be swept away to destruction.
(Summarised from 1 SM 204.5)

If Dr Kellogg had been successful in the alpha of apostasy, this is what he would have achieved.

However, after the crushing of the alpha, the devil sowed seeds that sprung into life, gradually bringing about the re-formation he had attempted earlier. He worked so subtlely few noticed. No wonder the prophet trembled for our people.

The fact that the alpha-omega controversy is “over the presence and personality of God”
(1 SM 203), tells us that the new foundation has a different teaching on this subject than the original foundation.

Is this true? Has there been a change?

In the book ‘Issues’ , this change is discussed and the statement made regarding the difference, “In addition to the missing preamble, the 1931 statement differs most dramatically from the 1872 statement in that it is fully Trinitarian. The 1980 statement is like the 1931 statement in that it is fully Trinitarian.”
‘Issues’ p46.

In the same book the question is asked, “Are modern defenders of so-called historic Adventism really prepared to return to a non-Trinitarian position?”
‘Issues’ p39.

Every one of us must answer that question, for without doubt, it is the crux of the issue. There has been a change, and this fact is confirmed by many. The deadliness of the omega is that those who are now Trinitarian do not want to go back to the platform of the pioneers. These brethren have their reasons – we must progress; we have matured; we now have truth.

But the prophet’s word continues to sound forth: “As a people we are to stand firm on the platform of eternal truth that has withstood test and trial. We are to hold to the sure pillars of our faith. The principles of truth that God has revealed to us are our only true foundation. They have made us what we are. The lapse of time has not lessened their value.”
1 Selected Messages p201.

The decision we must make remains the same – upon which foundation will you stand? One is the Word of God; the other the sand.

Here is a site I really like - and it helped me to see somewhat of the issue at hand: The TRUTH about God:

Here is a question you might like to check out:

CAN YOU TELL THE DIFFERENCE?

We are told that men and women who are trained to recognize counterfeit notes must study the genuine so that when they see a counterfeit, they can spot it immediately.

Likewise, if we study the Scriptures prayerfully, and with an honest love of the truth, we will not be deceived by error. God has promised to lead us, by His Spirit, into a knowledge of truth.
 John 16:13.

Unfortunately, even in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, we have been taught a tradition from childhood, and instead of knowing God’s Word on this subject, we hold to the teaching of men as the genuine article.

What is one of those traditions? It is the teaching of the Trinity.

History reveals that the Trinity came originally from paganism. It was modified by the Papacy over a period of three centuries and passed on to Protestantism. In the beginning, our pioneers rejected the Trinity, but with the inroads of apostasy, we accepted the Papal falsehood. However, more recently we have moved from Catholic tradition to paganism, but in some circles, there are moves back to the Catholic view. Today Adventists believe in three co-equal gods.

CAN YOU TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS...?

GOD

THE FATHER

GOD

THE SON

GOD

THE HOLY

GHOST

.... AND THIS?

GOD

THE FATHER

THE ONLY

BEGOTTEN

SON OF GOD

Is Jesus God?

THE NATURE OF GOD

Son of God, why is He called God throughout the Old Testament, and occasionally in the New?

The reason is because He is God.

Please do not misunderstand. God the Father is the only true God, but Christ -- the Son --inherited the nature of His Father. That nature is a GOD nature. It is not a human nature. It is not an angel nature; it is a divine nature.

The Greek word ‘theos’ means ‘a deity, the Supreme Deity’.
(Strong’s 2316) When referring to the Father as the ‘Supreme Deity’, it is used as a proper noun.

Ellen White calls the Father, “The Supreme Ruler of the universe.”
Review & Herald. Sep 11. 1894.“He is the Source of all being, and the fountain of all law.” The Great Controversy p479. (1888)

The word ‘theos’ can also refer to Christ, for He too is called ‘God’. It was the Father who said of His Son, “Thy throne O God, is for ever and ever…”
 Hebrews 1:8. However, the Father is not calling the Son another Supreme Being, but He is acknowledging His divinity.

Christ was “made so much better than the angels, and hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.”
 Hebrews 1:4. The Son is so much better than the angels because He is begotten, and the angels are created. (Hebrews 1 is not referring to Christ’s Sonship as a human being, but as the divine Son of God. However, Hebrews 2 does refer to Christ after He has veiled His divinity with humanity, and at that time He was made “a little lower than the angels”. Hebrews 2:9)

“God is the Father of Christ; Christ is the Son of God.”
8 Testimonies p268.

When Christ was begotten in eternity, He was given equality with His Father. As a Son, He did not have equality as a natural right; it was conferred upon Him. Christ was “given an exalted position…. made equal with the Father. All the counsels of God are opened to His Son.”
8 Testimonies p268. In the work of creation, Christ was made “an associate” of the Father. Patriarchs & Prophets p33.34.

“The Father wrought by His Son in the creation of all heavenly beings. ‘By Him were all things created… whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers, all things were created by Him, and for Him.’
Colossians 1:16.” Patriarchs & Prophets p34.35. Hebrews 1:1.2. 1 Selected Messages p249.

“Our great Exemplar was exalted to be equal with God. He was high commander in heaven. All the holy angels delighted to bow before Him.”
2 Testimonies p426. He was Michael, the adored “Commander of all the heavenly host.” 1 Selected Messages p243. 4 Testimonies p219.

(It was this authority that Lucifer desired to usurp, and after he made his purposes known throughout the realms of the heavenly kingdom, it was necessary for the Father to declare publicly “that none but Christ, the only begotten of God, could fully enter into His purposes, and to Him it was committed to execute the mighty counsels of His will. Patriarchs & Prophets p36. God made it clear before the assembled host that “special honour” had been conferred upon the Son and that it “was ordained by Himself that Christ, His Son, should be equal with Himself….” 1 Spirit of Prophecy p17.

This was not a new revelation, but it needed to be stated clearly in the presence of Lucifer and those who were leaning his way.

“The Son of God had wrought the Father’s will in the creation of all the hosts of heaven; and to Him, as well as to God, their homage and allegiance were due. Christ was still to exercise divine power in the creation of the earth and its inhabitants. But in all this He would not seek power or exaltation for Himself contrary to God’s plan, but would exalt the Father’s glory and execute His purposes of beneficence and love”. Ibid p36. “Lucifer desired the place occupied by Christ, having it in his mind, that if he gained this position, to make an effort to take the place of God”. Manuscript 37. May 1. 1903. Upward Look p135.)

As the Son “was next in authority to the great Lawgiver”, it followed that He would be sent on behalf of His Father to this earth.
Review & Herald. Dec 17. 1872. 2 Spirit of Prophecy p9. Patriarchs & Prophets p35.36.

Thus Christ is the divine link between humanity and the Father, “for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
1 Timothy 2:5.

John tells us, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without him was not any thing made that was made…. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us(and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father’), full of grace and truth.” John 1:1.2.3.14.

This text is not saying Jesus is the Supreme Deity as many believe, but that He was with Him in the beginning.

To distinguish between the Father and Son in this text, it will help to see one as a proper noun and the other as an adjective. Thus John 1:1 makes clear that Jesus Christ is Deity, albeit the Son of the Supreme Deity.

The verse could read: ‘In the beginning was Christ, and Christ was with the Supreme Deity, and Christ was divine.’ Or, ‘In the beginning was Christ, and Christ was with the Supreme divine Being, and Christ was also a divine Being.’

When we behold the Son, we see “the glory as of the only begotten of the Father”.
John 1:14. We do not see another supreme Deity in Christ, but we certainly see a divine Being, One who is the “express image” of His Father. Hebrews 1:3.

Sadly, the “world did not see divinity in the humble Man of Nazareth. The only-begotten Son of the infinite God was in the world, and men knew Him not in His true character.”
1 Selected Messages p296.

In understanding the nature of both the Father and the Son, it is wrong to make the assumption that there are two Gods. Our charge against Jehovah’s Witnesses is completely false, for they do not believe in two Gods. They have a true understanding that there is one God the Father, but their mistake is in believing the Son was not "DIVINE". Being "created" is just another sense of being brought into existence. Jesus was "created", "begotten", "brought forth", "born", differently than the angels, or mankind. Eve was brought into existence and made from Adam's rib. Consider this - perhaps God spoke Christ into existence? His Word? Brought forth out of his bosom by his breath to speak him into existence? Christ IS the "word" of God, the Bible says so. Rev 19:13 - "
his name is the Word of God". Christ was the beginning of the creation of God - after Christ was brought into being, his origins Micah 5:2 NIV:

Inline image 1

Sadly, this error gives them “another Jesus” who is not divine, and being a created being, He cannot save.
2 Corinthians 11:4. We must encourage them to see the divinity of Jesus, as this is our salvation.

In our discussion about God, we must use Bible language which says, “there is but one God the Father…. and Jesus Christ whom He has sent.”
1 Corinthians 8:6.

Add not to His words, lest “he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.”
Proverbs 30:6.

Here is an example of the "breath" of God breathed into EVE (a vessel for God to dwell in who became a vessel for Satan through sin and was redeemed) who was formed from a rib of Adam who was formed from the dust of the ground.

Exactly as to "how" Christ came into being before this world was created has not been revealed.... it has been revealed that Christ was the beginning of the creation of God, that he was begotten, brought forth, born, that he INHERITED by birth the Holy Divine "nature" of His Father. Christ IS the WORD of GOD the Father. It fits...Christ is the spoken WORD of God, a word comes out of our bosom, our breath, diaphragm.. Breathing From Deep Down in Your Diaphragm - in your bosom ... and causing your abdomen to expand as your lungs fill with air. How do you sing (or speak) from your diaphragm? breathing "from my belly" or bosom.

I need to get in the habit of speaking from my diaphragm instead of using my throat, because I tend to get a lot of pressure when I talk
to long. I've read articles on it but I don't understand what they mean by "pushing the air into the stomach". I have trouble with it. Breathe in and put your hand on your stomach. As you speak, try and use all that pressure. Your stomach should feel tight- you are controlling the amount of breath you breathe out, so don't suffocate yourself. while flexing your stomach muscles. breath in through your nose and breath out through your mouth. when you get use to this idea continue to step two. when you need to talk using your diaphragm do the same thing but this time while you are breathing out talk at the same time. this helps singers and speakers to sing/speak a phrase without taking a breath or help them sing/speak louder

Open your mouth, drop your shoulders, thrust out your belly. Inhale without your Nose. Open your mouth. AHHWUUU. ..PSSSS : Inhale openly. Exhale with control. Try again. No chest, all belly. Lower. Stand up. No really , Stand Up. Throw your belly out. Push it.

Try again. It is not easy. Put your hands on your chest, and press down...........AHHWUUU...... Use your belly. Ouch. huh? That is your Diaphragm.

Something to study about Christ.....

CHRIST REJECTED

At the trial of Christ, the “elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council saying, “Art thou the Christ? Tell us. And he said unto them, “If I tell you, ye will not believe. And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go. Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.”

Then said they all, ‘Art thou then the Son of God?’

And he said unto them, ‘Ye say that I am’.
Luke 22:66-71.

The Jews understood and believed that the Son of God would redeem Israel, for they knew Isaiah had prophesied the birth of “a child” whose name was “the mighty God…. the Prince of Peace”.
Isaiah 9:6. They knew Solomon had asked, “Who hath ascended up into heaven or descended? …. Who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth?

What is His name, and what is His son’s name, if thou canst tell?”
Proverbs 30:4. They well remembered the visit of the wise men to worship the babe in Bethlehem, the one whom they called “the King of the Jews”. Matthew 2:1-10.

But the religious leaders refused to acknowledge Jesus to be that divine Son of God. Unrepentant, they condemned Him to death.

Here is a lesson for us.

National Israel believed the Son of God was to come as the Redeemer of Israel, but when He did come, they crucified Him. They believed He was the prophesied Messiah, but pride kept them from acknowledging the truth.

“The Pharisees to whom Jesus spoke this warning
(to declare the work of God’s Spirit on the heart as being Satan) did not themselves believe the charge they brought against Him. There was not one of those dignitaries but had felt drawn toward the Saviour. They had heard the Spirit’s voice in their own hearts declaring Him to be the Anointed of Israel…. But after their rejection of Him it would be too humiliating to receive Him as the Messiah.

Having set their feet in the path of unbelief, they were too proud to confess their error.”
The Desire of Ages p322.

In 1888, at the General Conference session of Minneapolis, Brethren Waggoner and Jones presented the truth about the divinity of the Son of God. In his presentation of Christ and His righteousness, Elder Waggoner repeated the well-accepted understanding that Jesus “proceeded forth and came from God, but it was so far back in the ages of eternity as to be far beyond the grasp of the mind of man”.
Christ and His Righteousness p16.

This doctrine had been made clear during the time of intense study between 1844 and 1848 when the fundamental principles of our denomination were established. These pillars are “based on unquestionable authority”, and those “who try to bring in theories that remove the pillars of our faith… concerning the personality of God or of Christ are working as blind men.”
1 Selected Messages p207.208. Manuscript Release 760 p9.10.

At Minneapolis, no one queried the eternal Sonship of Christ, for all believed He was born in eternity, however, they did not accept the Catholic understanding that He was ‘eternally begotten’, and without beginning. All the pioneers believed it was the literal Son of God who came to this earth to redeem man.

(In 1931, Brother Leroy Froom wrote to Elder Hampton Cottrell regarding the pioneer view of the ‘Trinity-Godhead’. In reply Brother Cottrell wrote, “From my personal knowledge the doctrine of the ‘Trinity-Godhead’ was not taught by Seventh-day Adventists during the early days of my ministry.” Letter of H.H. Cottrell to LeRoy Froom, Sept 16. 1931. Brother Cottrell lived as an Adventist between 1852 and 1940. Those who are willing to read the writings of the pioneers, in their original form [prior to the deleting of this belief from their books under the direction of Brother Froom], will clearly see that Brother Cottrell spoke the truth)

Unlike the Jewish leaders, the leadership of the Advent Movement, as well as through the early years of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, believed and accepted that Jesus was the only begotten Son of the living God.

The apostle Peter under influence of the Spirit of God had said, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God”.
Matthew 16:16. Jesus used these words to show that this is the central doctrine of Christianity. Matthew 16:16. It “is the foundation of the believer’s faith. It is that which Christ Himself has declared to be eternal life.” The Desire of Ages p412. 1 John 5:4.5.12.13.20.

This is still the capstone of Christianity.

However, at Minneapolis, the leadership refused to come under the Lordship of the Son of God. Brother Waggoner and Jones plead with them to accept the personal presence of Christ in their lives. In his message, Brother Waggoner emphasised the divinity of Christ to show His right to have authority over us.

Brother Jones made the personal presence of Christ perfectly clear. “The only possible way in which anybody in this world can know the righteousness of God, can receive the righteousness of God…. is by having the mind of Christ itself….

Where do we get that mind?

(Congregation: ‘In Christ”) … ‘Well, can I have the mind of Christ without the rest of Him? No, I cannot. Therefore as I cannot have the mind of Christ without the rest of Him, it follows that I must have the personal presence of Christ Himself.” General Conference Bulletin of 1893. Sermons by A.T.Jones p82.

The question we need to ask is: How can I have the personal presence of Christ?

Obviously we cannot have Him in the flesh, for He is physically unable to be with every person, but we can have Him in the Spirit. That does not mean another God-Being called the Holy Spirit, but the personal presence of Christ in Spirit.

This is the holy Spirit; holy because our Saviour is holy.
(Compare 1 Peter 1:10.11 and 2 Peter 1:20.21)

Notice the prophet’s words, “Cumbered with humanity, Christ could not be in every place personally. Therefore it was for their interest that He should go to the Father, and send the Spirit to be His successor on earth. No one could then have any advantage because of his location or his personal contact with Christ. By the Spirit the Saviour would be accessible to all. In this sense He would be nearer to them than if He had not ascended on high.”
The Desire of Ages p669.

You will remember that Christ had promised to return to His disciples after His ascension. He said, “I will not leave you comfortless
(or as orphans); I will come to you.” John 14:17.18. This is not speaking of His glorious second Advent, for Judas (not Iscariot) asked why He would not manifest Himself to the world. Christ was speaking about His coming in Spirit, for He said, “I will be in you”. John 14:17.21.22.

After quoting the above verses Sister White said, “This refers to the omnipresence of the Spirit of Christ, called the Comforter.”
Manuscript Release Vol 14. p179. “The Holy Spirit is the Comforter; as the personal presence of Christ to the soul”. The Home Missionary. Nov 1. 1893.

Please read carefully and prayerfully consider the following quotation and think carefully about its implication: “In Christ is our only hope. God has daily victories for His people to gain… by His heavenly gifts the Lord has made ample provision for His people. An earthly parent can not give his child a sanctified character. He can not transfer his character to his child. God alone can transform us.

Christ breathed on His disciples, and said, ‘Receive ye the Holy Ghost’. This is the great gift of heaven. Christ imparted to them through the Spirit His own sanctification. He imbued them with His power, that they might win souls to the gospel. Henceforth Christ would live through their faculties, and speak through their words. They were privileged to know that hereafter He and they were to be one. They must cherish His principles and be controlled by His Spirit. They were no longer to follow their own way, to speak their own words. The words they spoke were to proceed from a sanctified heart, and fall from sanctified lips. No longer were they to live their own selfish life;

Christ was to live in them… He would give to them the glory that He had with the Father, that He and they might be one in God.”
Sons and Daughters of God p294.

This doctrine – that the Spirit is Christ “Himself, divested of the personality of humanity and independent thereof” -- was also believed by the pioneers, but at Minneapolis, they refused to surrender to Him.
Manuscript Release Vol 14. p23. The Desire of Ages p669. (This does not mean Christ does not have personality when in Spirit as some have suggested, but that He is free of the encumbrances of it)

The dew drops of the latter rain
 (the promised Spirit) had begun to fall in the powerful messages of Brethren Jones and Waggoner, but when met with icy resistance, they were withdrawn.

Today the Seventh-day Adventist Church does not believe Christ is the Son of God; instead they teach that He is an eternal God-Being, the second Person of a triune Godhead. Unfortunately, they charge our pioneers with error, believing them to be immature in their theology. However, in doing this, they must not only include Ellen White, but the Spirit of prophecy, for she spoke under inspiration.

In 1904 the prophet wrote, “I have been hoping that there would be a thorough reformation, and that the principles for which we fought in the early days, and which were brought out in the power of the Holy Spirit, would be maintained…

What influence is it that would lead men at this stage of our history to work in an underhand, powerful way to tear down the foundation of our faith – the foundation that was laid at the beginning of our work by prayerful study of the Word and by revelation?…

Messages of every order and kind have been urged upon Seventh-day Adventists, to take the place of the truth which, point by point, has been sought out by prayerful study, and testified to by the miracle-working power of the Lord. But the waymarks which have made us what we are, are to be preserved and they will be preserved, as God has signified through His Word and the testimony of His Spirit….”
1 Selected Messages p206-208.

In rejecting Christ as the Son of God, and Christ in Spirit, the leadership of our denomination are following in the footsteps of the Pharisees and Saduccees, whose rejection of Christ lost them His righteousness, justification, sanctification, and eternal life.

Three and half years after the crucifixion, Stephen testified against the Jewish leaders, “Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost, as your fathers did, so do ye…” and Stephen, “being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God….. then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, and cast him out of the city, and stoned him….”
Acts 7:51.55-58.

By this act, Christ had in effect been put to death again, for it was He who imbued the martyr with power to witness for His Saviour.

Dear Reader, you must think about this subject. It may be a controversial issue, but it is in principle exactly the same as the Jewish nation faced – the acceptance or rejection of Christ.

The Bible is clear: “And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in Him, and he in God, and God in him…. Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God and every one that loveth Him that begat loveth Him also that is begotten of Him…. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world; and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”
1 John 4:14.15. 5:1.4.5.

If we refuse to believe that Christ is literally the Son of God, begotten of the Father in the days of eternity, we do not believe He is a Son at all. Take heed, for this is the very condemnation the Lord places upon the Papacy:

“Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father….. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God; and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come….

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself; he that believeth not God hath made Him a liar; because he believeth not that record that God gave of His Son, and this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and He that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”
1 John 2:22.23. 4:3. 5:10-12.

If we want to avoid the final mark of the beast, not only must we worship on the true Sabbath and refuse to honour the day instigated by the Papal power, but we must worship the true God. To have “another Jesus”, “another Spirit”, and “another gospel” is to be lost.
2 Corinthians 11:4. Galatians 1:8.9.

We can rejoice that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, and that it is Christ Himself in Spirit who is convicting us of sin, comforting us, and leading us to the promised land. This has been the work assigned to Him from the beginning.

At this very moment, the Saviour is knocking upon the door of your heart saying, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
Revelation 3:20.

Do you want to sup with the Saviour? Why not invite Him in right now?

“How essential that we have the enlightenment of the Spirit of God; for thus only can we see the glory of Christ, and by beholding become changed from character to character in and through faith in Christ. He has grace and pardon for every soul. As by faith we look to Jesus, our faith pierces the shadow, and we adore God for His wondrous love in giving us Jesus the Comforter.”
Sons & Daughters p124.

“Those who have Jesus abiding in the heart by faith, have actually received the Holy Spirit.”
 The Upward Look p19.

Will you kneel before Jesus and by faith touch the nail prints in His hands, acknowledging Him to be the divine Son of God?

And will you heed His gentle voice and proclaim with fellow believers:

“My Lord and my God".

"To those that ask Him, Jesus imparts the Holy Spirit"! Selected Messages Book Book 1, Page 395
ASK HIM TO IMPART THE HOLY SPIRIT!!!! WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?

"The Lord would have His people sound in the faith—not ignorant of the great salvation so abundantly provided for them. They are NOT to look forward,thinking that at some future time a great work is to be done for them; for the work is NOW complete. The believer is NOT called upon to make his peace with God; he never has nor ever can do thisHe is to accept Christ as his peace, for with Christ is God and peace. Christ made an end of sin, bearing its heavy curse in His own body on the tree, and He hath taken away the curse from all those who believe in Him as a personal Saviour. He makes an end of the controlling power of sin in the heart, and the life and character of the believer testify to the genuine character of the grace of Christ. To those that ask HimJesus imparts the Holy Spirit; for it is necessary that every believer should be delivered from pollution, as well as from the curse and condemnation of the law. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, the sanctification of the truth, the believer becomes fitted for the courts of heaven; for Christ works within us, and His righteousness is upon us.Without this no soul will be entitled to heaven. We would not enjoy heaven unless qualified for its holy atmosphere by the influence of the Spirit and the righteousness of Christ." Selected Messages Book 1, p. 394.3

"The message will be carried not so much by argument as by the deep conviction of the Spirit of God.The arguments have been presented. The seed has been sown, and now it will spring up and bear fruit. The publications distributed by missionary workers have exerted their influence, yet many whose minds were impressed have been prevented from fully comprehending the truth or from yielding obedience. Now the rays of light penetrate everywhere, the truth is seen in its clearness, and the honest children of God sever the bands which have held them. Family connections, church relations, are powerless to stay them now. Truth is more precious than all besides. Notwithstanding the agencies combined against the truth, a large number take their stand upon the Lord's side."--GC 612 (1911).

Carry on all your work on strictly religious principles. Let your earnest inquiry be: What can I do to please the Master?” Visit places where the believers need encouragement and help. At every step ask: Is this the way of the Lord? Am I, in spirit, in word, in action, in harmony with His will?” If you labor for God with an eye single to His glory, your work will bear the divine mold, and you will be carrying out the Lord’s purposes.
In your study of the word of God, penetrate deeper and still deeper beneath the surface. Lay hold by faith on divine power and sound the depths of inspiration. Bring into your ministry the power of God, remembering that the Lord is behind you. Let His love shine through all you do and say. Let the truth, the precious, simple truth of the word of God, shine out in full brightness. Humble self before God. Christ will be your efficiency. He has appointed you as rulers over His household, to give meat in due season. Christ’s laborers are very near His heart of love. He desires to perfect His household through the perfection of His ministers.

"Oh, that our people could realize what advantages would be theirs if they would look constantly to Jesus.... He is our Alpha and our Omega. Pressing close to Him, and holding communion with Him, we become like Him. Through the transforming power of the Spirit of Christ, we are changed in heart and life."—(Australasian) Union Conference Record, February 1, 1904.--

“The Track of TRUTH lies close beside the track of ERROR, and Both Tracks may seem to-be-ONE! to MINDS which are NOT-WORKED by the Holy Spirit and which, therefore, are not QUICK! To discern the DIFFERENCE between TRUTH and Error! SM 1:202,121,282. T8:267,290. TM 229,407. MM 142. RH A2:310. T2:387.

I am guessing that you are meaning that those who do not believe in "God the Holy Spirit" the third person of the trinity or the third person of modern SDA tritheistic version of the triple "godHEAD" are following the track of ERROR? Jesus thundered His Father's Law from Mt. Sinai "Thou Shalt Have NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME" not US. By worshiping 3 gods, this breaks the first commandment, also the second and third. This is the same as worshiping Nimrod, Semaris and Tammuz - just named in Biblical sounding names today to deceive IF IT WERE POSSIBLE even the very elect: "God the Father", "God the Son" and "God the Holy Spirit". The Bible plainly teaches there is ONE GOD, and His Son whom God made equal with Him - after he brought his Son into existence prior to this world being created and prior to anything else being created by Jesus. We are to worship and honor God & His Son until all things in this great plan of salvation are complete - then Jesus gives back his authority that was GIVEN him and he is subject unto the Father so that all may be in God.

"He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath BOTH the Father and the Son." 2 John 1:9 Notice it says "BOTH" not three. It is BY THEIR SPIRIT that we become partakers of their Divine Nature. If someone said oh, Mark has a holy spirit or Mark has a evil spirit, that is not talking about someone else but yourself. Same with God. Only God can be omnipresent - everywhere all at once - it's his power and divine influence he sends us through our only mediator and intercessor and advocate Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God. God is the only being who is eternal - else Jesus could not have completely died for us. If he is ETERNAL as is His Father - then he could not have "completely" and truly "died" for us and been raised from the dead. THIS is one of the many errors of believing in a three person Godhead that is co-eternal.

I believe there definitely is a HOLY "SPIRIT" - just not "ANOTHER SPIRIT" called "God the Holy Spirit". Rather it is shown to be a divine influence from them both, the medium which represents their presence and by which they have knowledge and power through all the universe, when not personally present.

2 Corinthians 11:4
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

Jesus imparts or IMPUTS the Holy Spirit to us! This is how we become PARTAKERS OF THEIR (GOD & HIS SON's) DIVINE NATURE! See more here: https://sites.google.com/site/theendtimewarning/jesus-born-of-god-not-created

Our sins were laid on Christ, punished in Christ, put away by Christ, in order that his righteousness might be imputed to uswho walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Although sin was charged to his account on our behalf, yet he remained perfectly sinless.ST May 30, 1895, par. 6S.D.A. Bible Commentary Vol. 7A, p. 472.3

"If we are following Christ, His merits, imputed to us, come up before the Father as sweet odor. And the graces of our Saviour's character, implanted in our hearts, will shed around us a precious fragrance. The spirit of love, meekness, and forbearance pervading our life will have power to soften and subdue hard hearts and win to Christ bitter opposers of the faith." {5T 174.1}

"To those that ASK HimJesus imparts (To grant a share of; bestow) the Holy Spirit (God" shall send Jesus." Acts 3:19-20)." Selected Messages Book 1, p. 394.3

"A line of truth extending from that time (1844) to the time when we shall enter the city of God, was made plain to me, and I gave to others the instruction that the Lord had given me."  (S M bk 1, pg 206-208).

He can overcome by the power of the Word. If we desire to know and to do God’s will, His promises are ours: “You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” “If any man’s will is to do His will, he shall know whether the teaching is from God.” John 8:32; 7:17, RSV. Through faith in these promises every man may be delivered from the snares of error and the control of sin.

Question: Do you think the third being of the "trinity of gods" is another mediator besides Jesus the Son of GOD the Father? (another "God the Holy Spirit"?)

Jesus Christ, our only Mediator, Intercessor and Advocate (1 John 2:1)

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, John 14:16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever-- Acts 3:20 and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you--even Jesus. Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 44:22 I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you." Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, Acts 3:20 and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you--even JesusHe must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.

Jesus remains physically in Heaven - but is with us by his spirit - just as much as a person walking right beside us. This is his omnipresence - Christ gave up something for ever - his ability, his own ability to be omnipresent - but now Acts 3:21 he comes to us through the Father's own eternal omnipresent spirit (remember God IS a Spirit and He is Holy)

“How the Holy Ghost can be the third person and not be a person at all is difficult for me to see” (Letter, Kellogg to G. I Butler , October 28th 1903 ). more here: http://www.elijah144.com/thirdpersonofthegodh.htm

"But respecting this Spirit, the Bible uses expressions which cannot be harmonized with the idea that it is a person like the Father and the Son. Rather it is shown to be a divine influence from them both, the medium which represents their presence and by which they have knowledge and power through all the universe, when not personally present." Uriah Smith, “In the Question Chair,” Review and Herald, LXVII (October 28, 1890), 664.

Hebrews 7:25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

1 John 2:1

King James Version (KJV)

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Acts 7:52 Was there ever a prophet your fathers did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him--

Romans 5:10 For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

THREE LIVING PERSONALITIES

The quote is in the middle of the page.  Ms.  White crossed out the [s] on "persons" and instead wrote the word "personalities".  This was written to John Harvey Kellogg who had become confused with Ms. Whites use of the word "person".  This was a rebuke to him.  In a quote below you will see that Kelloggs trinitarian view and misunderstanding was out of harmony with the church and Ms. Whites writings.

In a letter that Dr. John Harvey Kellogg wrote to G. I Butler on Oct 28th 1903 concerning ‘The Living Temple’ he wrote.

"As far as I can fathom, the difficulty which is found in the Living Temple, the whole thing may be simmered down to this question: is the Holy Ghost a person. You say no. I had supposed the Bible said this for the reason that the personal pronoun he is used in speaking of the Holy Ghost. Sister White uses the pronoun he and has said in as many words that the Holy Ghost is the third person of the Godhead. How the Holy Ghost can be the third person and not be a person at all is difficult for me to see".

To Butler the non-trinitarian who did not believe Ms. White meant third individual as Kellogg had come to believe she wrote in regard to Butler in regards to Kellogg's Trinitarian misunderstanding.

There are some, who upon accepting erroneous theories, strive to establish them by collecting from my writings statements of truth, which they use, separated from their proper connection and perverted by association with error. Letter 136, April 27, 1906, to Brethren Butler, Daniels, and Irwin. (Ellen White, 1906, This Day with God, page 126)

URIAH SMITH: Mr. Smith was strongly anti-trinitarian. The 1899 edition “Thoughts on the Book of Daniel and the Revelation” by Uriah Smith states: “Others, however, and more properly we think, take the word to mean "agent" or "efficient cause," which is one of the definitions of the word, understanding that Christ is the agent through whom God has created all things, but that he himself came into existence in a different manner, as he is called "the only begotten" of the Father. It would seem utterly inappropriate to apply this expression to any being created in the ordinary sense of the term.”

"The God of heaven saw it fit to establish the Advent movement on a solid foundation of truth. This foundation included a correct understanding of who He is. The Advent band was not left to wander through the multiplied delusions of the spiritualizers. From the earliest visions God assured His children of the reality of His being. “I have often seen the lovely Jesus, that He is a person. I asked Him if His Father was a person and had a form like Himself. Said Jesus, “I am in the express image of My Father’s person.” I have often seen that the spiritual view took away all the glory of heaven […]” {E.G. White, Early Writings, p. 77}

George Knight, Andrews University Seminary professor made the following statement in Ministry, the official Seventh-day Adventist journal for ministers: "Most of the founders of Seventh-day Adventism would not be able to join the church today if they had to subscribe to the denomination’s Fundamental Beliefs. More specifically, most would not be able to agree to belief number 2, which deals with the doctrine of the trinity." - Ministry, October 1993, p. 10.

- Signs of the Times, June 4, 1874

The SDA church has replaced their foundational teachings of the person of Jesus Christ and the Godhead with a tritheistic version of the Roman Catholic doctrine of the Trinity.

2. Trinity: http://www.adventist.org/beliefs/fundamental/index.html
There is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a unity of three co-eternal Persons. God is immortal, all-powerful, all-knowing, above all, and ever present. He is infinite and beyond human comprehension, yet known through His self-revelation. He is forever worthy of worship, adoration, and service by the whole creation.

“How the Holy Ghost can be the third person and not be a person at all is difficult for me to see” (Letter, Kellogg to G. I Butler , October 28th 1903 ).

This is a false and misleading idea that is pushed on the laity or "professed Adventists" who are not going to God Himself and studying to be approved, a workman that need not be ashamed, studying as a Berean, to see if these things are so. ANYONE who understands the doctrine of the trinity would see literally hundreds if not thousands of statements in her writings that would prove blasphemous over and over again to a trinitarians way of thinking. Instead, Ellen White states that many will, just as Dr. Kellogg tried to do, take her statements and try to twist them into their way of thinking, claiming that she changed or agreed with their way of thinking. Nothing makes the devil more happy than to see this being done in today's modern SDA church.

Ship Drifting at Sea Without Chart or Compass: "The facts concerning the real condition of the professed people of God, speak more loudly than their profession, and make it evident that some power has cut the cable that anchored them to the Eternal Rock, and that they are drifting away to sea, without chart or compass." E.G. White, Selected Messages, vol. 2, p. 128, (Review and Herald, Vol. 2, p. 231). (Also see Fundamentals of Christian Education, p. 348).

"It is through obedience to the truth that we are to be sanctified" and unified. "It should be our constant aim to reach this state of unity;  but to do this we are not to sacrifice one principle of truth." Ellen G. White, The Signs of the Times, May 12, 1881. (emphasis supplied).
Ellen White names some of the men who laid the foundation for the SDA church. She explains how the Spirit of the Lord would show her the truth of scripture passages, which she shared with her co-laborers. Included in this "truth" was the understanding of Christ and his mission, according to Ellen White these truths would extend through out time. In the following quotes we clearly see that Ellen saw the churches doctrine concerning the Godhead a pillar of faith.

    “Those who seek to remove the old landmarks are not holding fast; they are not remembering how they have received and heard. Those who try to bring in theories that would remove the pillars of our faith concerning the sanctuary or concerning the personality of God or of Christ, are working as blind men. They are seeking to bring in uncertainties and to set the people of God adrift without an anchor.”{MR760 9.5}

    “I entreat every one to be clear and firm regarding the certain truths that we have heard and received and advocated. The statements of God's Word are plain.
 Plant your feet firmly on the platform of eternal truth. Reject every phase of error, even though it be covered with a semblance of reality, which denies the personality of God and of Christ.” {RH, August 31, 1905 par. 11}

THE DOGMA OF THE TRINITY or
  • The Trinity is the term employed to signify the central doctrine of the Christian religion -- the truth that in the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, these Three Persons being truly distinct one from another. Thus, in the words of the Athanasian Creed: "the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods but one God."

(James White, January 24, 1846, The Day Star) "The way spiritualizers have disposed of or denied the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ is first using the old unscriptural Trinitarian creed."

BIBLE: Jude 1:4  For there are certain men crept in unawareswho were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ellen White writing about ENOCH: He [Enoch] also saw the corrupt state of the world when Christ should appear the second time--that there would be a boastful, presumptuous, self-willed generationdenying the only God and the Lord Jesus Christ, trampling upon the law, and despising the atonement. He saw the righteous crowned with glory and honor, and the wicked banished from the presence of the Lord, and destroyed by fire. http://www.whiteestate.org/books/pp/pp6.html

"As world church president, Neal Wilson was responsible for... the adoption of a revised statement of  the church’s “Fundamental Beliefs”  by delegates to the denomination’s world session in 1980,...  WORLD CHURCH LEADER: Pastor Neal C. Wilson, a former president of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and the father of current G.C. president Pastor Ted N.C. Wilson, passed to his rest on December 14, 2010 at an assisted living facility in Dayton, Maryland. He was 90 years old."

“Those who seek to remove the old landmarks are not holding fast; they are not remembering how they have received and heard. Those who try to bring in theories that would remove the pillars of our faith concerning the sanctuary or concerning the personality of God or of Christ, are working as blind men. They are seeking to bring in uncertainties and to set the people of God adrift without an anchor.{MR760 9.5} The law is indeed our anchor, but Jesus is the wind in our sails.

The “mystery of iniquity” began to work in the church in Paul’s day. It finally crowded out the simplicity of the gospel, and corrupted the doctrine of Christ, and the church went into the wilderness. Martin Luther, and other reformers, arose in the strength of God, and with the Word and Spirit, made mighty strides in the Reformation. The greatest fault we can find in the Reformation is, the Reformers stopped reforming. Had they gone on, and onward, till they had left the last vestige of Papacy behind, such as natural immortality, sprinkling, the trinity, and Sunday-keeping, the church would now be free from her unscriptural errors.(James White, February 7, 1856, Review & Herald, vol. 7, no. 19, page 148, par. 26)

"But to hold the doctrine of the trinity is not so much an evidence of evil intention as of intoxication from that wine of which all the nations have drunk. The fact that this was one of the leading doctrines, if not the very chief, upon which the bishop of Rome was exalted to the popedom, does not say much in its favor. This should cause men to investigate it for themselves; " R. F. Cottrell, Review &Herald, July 6, 1869, 'The Trinity'

“The mystery of the Trinity is the central doctrine of the catholic church.  Upon it are based all the teachings of the church”[Handbook for Todays Catholic Page 11

Rev 17:5  “And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT.”

Now I ask dear reader, has the foundation that was laid by men like James White, Elder Edsen, Uriah Smith, Joseph Bates, and Ellen White herself changed? What did the pioneers of the SDA Church believe, and what does the church teach today about the Godhead?

JOSEPH BATES: Respecting the trinity, I concluded that it was impossible for me to believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, was also the Almighty God, the Father, one and the same being. I said to my father, "If you can convince me that we are one in this sense, that you are my father, and I your son, and also that I am my father, and you my son, then I can believe in the trinity."… In a few days I was immersed and joined the Christian Church.---Joseph Bates, The Autobiography of Elder Joseph Bates(Battle Creek, Mich.: Steam Press of the Seventh-day Adventist Publishing Association, 1868).

URIAH SMITH
: Mr. Smith was strongly anti-trinity.

The Southern Publishing Association in the 1944 revision excluded the anti-trititarian view from this work. The statement now reads:
“Others, however, and more properly we think, take the word, arche, to mean the "agent" or "efficient cause," which is one of the definitions of the word, understanding that Christ is the agent through whom God has created all things.” (*Note: there were almost another dozen changes preformed to this book to remove any anti-Trinitarian statements. This is the process that has been performed on all the writings of the pioneers; in order to make them appear pro-trinitarian. The following quote shows exactly what Uriah Smith believed about the Godhead.)

But respecting this Spirit, the Bible uses expressions which cannot be harmonized with the idea that it is a person like the Father and the Son. Rather it is shown to be a divine influence from them both, the medium which represents their presence and by which they have knowledge and power through all the universe, when not personally present. Uriah Smith, “In the Question Chair,” Review and Herald, LXVII (October 28, 1890), 664.

JAMES WHITE: James White, prior to becoming an Adventist, was an ordained minister of the Christian Connection, which held an anti-trinitarian doctrine. He clearly shows here that he held to the semi-arian belief by denying both the Trinity and the Unitarian doctrines.  "The inexplicable Trinity that makes the Godhead three in one and one in three is bad enough; but that ultra Unitarianism that makes Christ inferior to the Father is worse. Did God say to an inferior, ‘let us make man in our image?’ " - James White, Review and Herald, November 29, 1877

James White was editor of the Review and Herald in 1861. In November of that year, he published J. N. Loughborough’s answer to the question,
"what serious objection is there to the doctrine of the trinity?"Loughborough replied: There are many objections which we might urge, but on account of our limited space we shall reduce them to the following: 1. It is contrary to common sense. 2. It is contrary to Scripture. 3. It’s origin is Pagan and fabulous. Review and Herald, XVIII (November 5, 1861), 184

D.M. CANRIGHT:
 Christ came into existence first of all things…My grounds for this proposition are John i:1,2; Col. i, 17; Prov. viii, 22, 30. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. the same was in the beginning with God." Here, the existence of the Word, or Christ, is placed as far back as language can place it, even in the beginning with the great God. D. M. Canright, "Jesus Christ the Son of God," Review and Herald, III (June 18, 1867),

J.H.WAGGONER:
 Surely, we say right, that the doctrine of a trinity degrades the atonement, by bringing this sacrifice, the blood of our purchase, down to the standard of socinianism." J. H. Waggoner, The Atonement (Oakland, Cal.: Pacific Press, 1884), p. 174.

"
 ....the great mistake of Trinitarians, in arguing this subject, is this: they make no distinction between a denial of a trinity and a denial of the divinity of Christ. They see only the two extremes, between which the truth lies; and take every expression referring to the pre-existence of Christ as evidence of a trinity. The Scriptures abundantly teach the preexistence of Christ and his divinity; but they are entirely silent in regard to a trinity."- J. H. Waggoner, Review and Herald, November 10, 1863

And what of Ellen White? As Kellogg took bits and pieces of her work to make it look like she supported his doctrine, those who have brought the current SDA version of the trinity (Which is in truth "Tritheisms") have done the same.  How can one ever believe Ellen was a Trinitarian, when history so clearly declares that her husband and all the pioneers of the SDA Church were semi-arian? She was married to her husband for 35 years and never once did she rebuke him for his belief. Never once did she ever teach against the semi-arian doctrine. In fact, she never used the term trinity, and she taught decidedly against it.

“The great Creator assembled the heavenly host, that He might in the presence of all the angels confer special honor upon His Son.... The Father then made known that it was ordained by Himself that Christ His Son, should be equal with Himself; so that wherever was the presence of His Son, it was as His own presence. The word of the Son was to be obeyed as readily as the word of the Father. His Son He hadinvested with authority to command the heavenly host." - E.G. White, the Story of Redemption, p.13.

"Christ Jesus was not the Lord God Almighty.... Deity did not sink under the agonizing torture of Calvary, yet it is nonetheless true that "God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." {LHU 235.3}

Will the SDA church admit that there has been a change in the fundamental doctrine concerning the Godhead?

“Adventist beliefs have changed over the years under the impact of "present truth." Most startling  is the teaching regarding Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord. Many of the pioneers, including James White, J. N. Andrews, Uriah Smith, and J. H. Waggoner, held to an Arian or semi-Arian view—that is, the Son at some point in time before the Creation of our world was generated by the Father….Likewise, the Trinitarian understanding of God, now part of our fundamental beliefs, was not generally held by the early Adventists. Even today a few do not subscribe to it”. (Adventist Review, January 6, 1994, pp. 10, 11)

George Knight, Andrews University Seminary professor made the following statement in Ministry, the official Seventh-day Adventist journal for ministers:
 "Most of the founders of Seventh-day Adventism would not be able to join the church today if they had to subscribe to the denomination’s Fundamental Beliefs. More specifically, most would not be able to agree to belief number 2, which deals with the doctrine of the trinity." - Ministry, October 1993, p. 10.

2. Trinity: http://www.adventist.org/beliefs/fundamental/index.html
"There is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a unity of (ERROR:) three co-eternal Persons. God is immortal, all-powerful, all-knowing, above all, and ever present. He is infinite and beyond human comprehension, yet known through His self-revelation. He is forever worthy of worship, adoration, and service by the whole creation."

“How the Holy Ghost can be the third person and not be a person at all is difficult for me to see”. (Letter, Kellogg to G. I Butler , October 28th 1903 ).

THE CONCLUSION!

The only truthful conclusion is such:

#1. Ellen White was for the first fifty years (1844-1895) decidedly non-Trinitarian, especially with her clear statements that Christ is not the Lord God Almighty. Thus, if the trinity is true, then Ellen White was a false prophet.

#2. If the pioneers were Arians, then there is no link between the Modern Church and the one that came out of the great disappointment (1844) and this is readily admitted by the Conference. Thus if the trinity is true then the SDA church is not the remnant, and if the trinity is not truth, then the SDA Church of today is Babylon by their own standards.

OH Dear reader, will you not escape from the vat of confusion? Will you not learn to trust in the Word, and the Word alone?

Our Lord not does change nor did He change the Message please note the following quotes:

         Those who stand as teachers and leaders in our institutions are to be sound in the faith and in the principles of the third angel's message. God wants His people to know that we have the message as He gave it to us in 1843 and 1844. We knew then what the message meant, and we call upon our people today to obey the word, "Bind up the law among My disciples." In this world there are but two classes,--the obedient and the disobedient. To which class do we belong? (GCB April 1st 1903)

       We have, as had John, a message to bear of the things which we have seen and heard. God is not giving us a new messageWe are to proclaim the message that in 1843 and 1844 brought us out of the other churches. We need the Holy Spirit to kindle in our hearts the zeal and earnestness that were then seen among God's people. I thank the Lord that there are still living a few who can remember those days, and who know whereof they speak.(RH Jan 19th 1905)

       The truths that we received in 1841, '42, '43, and '44 are now to be studied and proclaimed. The messages of the first, second, and third angels will in the future be proclaimed with a loud voice. They will be given with earnest determination and in the power of the Spirit.(15MR Ltr 75 1905)

        All the messages given from 1840-1844 are to be made forcible NOWfor there are many people who have lost their bearingsThe messages are to go to all the churches.  {21MR 437.1}(LTR 54 1906)

       God bids us give our time and strength to the work of preaching to the people the messages that stirred men and women in 1843 and 1844.  {MR760 30.1}(July 4th 1907)

You might be surprised to learn, as I was, that Ellen White and the other pioneers of SDA church could not even join the new changed religion of today's SDA church:

Famous author and Andrews University seminary professor George Night boldly admits this fact in the following statement found in MINISTRY magazine, Oct/1993 p. 10. "Most of the founders of Seventh-day Adventism would not be able to join the church today if they had to subscribe to the denomination's Fundamental Beliefs.” "More specifically, most would not be able to agree to belief number 2, which deals with the doctrine of the Trinity. For Joseph Bates the Trinity was an unscriptural doctrine, for James White it was that 'old Trinitarian absurdity,' and for M.E. Cornell it was a fruit of the great apostasy, along with such false doctrines as Sunday keeping and the immortality of the soul." - Ministry, October 1993, p. 10.

I ran across this and a whole lot more I had read this morning about Marion Davis and Fannie Bolton who was working for Sr. White and it is under The Whole Story about Fannie Bolton or the Fannie Bolton Story and all the letters back & forth to and from Sr. White and some others. It tells that they were doing changes to Sr. Whites writings and two years before what I sent to you about it she was warned of her and felt conviction that she sould not work for her but somehow she let her keep on and it was described as Miriam and Aaron in the time of Moses and Satan in heaven trying to get the angels to agree with him etc against Christ.

Sr. White said she was a traitor and was jealous of Sr. White she had to let her go.-- but the damage had been done, leavening the people so as not to have confidence in the writings (to the new people) anyway. They are the ones that someone from Tennessee said changed Sr. Whites writings-- the places about 3rd person of the Godhead. I know you are busy but thought I'd send that much of it so you can see that she had these enemies who was trying to destroy her and her writings; and God was very displeased with those two (Marion Davis and Fannie Bolton).

King with Sister Bolton.  {MR926 41.2}
     Letter 102, 1895, entire letter. (To Marian Davis, October 29, 1895.)--I write you a short letter to tell you some things that I must open before you. While in Cooranbong, I had a presentation of Fannie talking to different ones, exactly in the same strain as that we had to deal with two years ago. At three different times I was brought into a room where all seemed dark as a cellar. I could not see the faces of those present, but heard her voice. She was in a most excited manner saying the very same things she said in Melbourne, stating that her talent was not acknowledged, that she brought her very being and life into the work, and
                                                                           42
yet she was set aside as a nonentity, while Sister White got all the credit of the matter published. She was so very earnest and enthused that her statements would be taken as truth by any one who did not know what my writings were before she had any connection with me and my work.  {MR926 41.3}
     Again the matter was presented to me as I have told you and her in the matter that came up at Melbourne. She claimed to put her words in my manuscript, and these were called "beautiful words," but, said Fannie Bolton, they were her own words. Then she talked fluently, saying that she had left everything and had given her life to be engaged in my work. Many statements after this order were presented in most earnest fluency and all seemed to receive her words as truth.  {MR926 42.1}
     Again, after I returned to Granville from Cooranbong, matters were presented before me, and warnings were given that a trial was before me. I was instructed that among those connected with me, there was working an undercurrent of deceptive influences and that unless there was a cleansing away of all such influences, great harm would result to the cause of truth. I told you, Marian, that I was deeply burdened. I knew that Fannie's interest was not in the work. I had no harmony with her. I have felt, when I put writings in her hand to be copied, that there was some power between her and me, and the impression was "Withhold, withhold." I could not interpret my impressions nor the figures presented to me to teach me.  {MR926 42.2}
     It was her own proposition to come to Armadale, Melbourne, and she made the conditions herself. I asked her if it was safe for her to attend the camp meeting, for if she should be urged to take the children's meetings, she would be inclined to do this, and then she would be of no use to me, for she would have to give her whole time to that work. She said, "I could not take the children's meetings. It is too hard for me. It just takes every bit of power in me. I shall want to attend some meetings in the evenings, occasionally in the day time, but I will be ready to help you in your work."  {MR926 42.3}
     But as soon as we were on the ground, it was not easy to get persons to take the children's division, and now comes in the great urging for Fannie to engage in this work. I said, "No, it must not be. I have work for Fannie." But she greatly desired to attend children's meetings, and to instruct them. I had two articles to be prepared for the mail, and Fannie read Wednesday and Thursday. Fourteen pages were prepared for the mail, and nothing more has been done by her during this meeting.  {MR926 42.4}
     After I had received the warnings I have mentioned, I asked Sara if Fannie had said anything to her in regard to me and my work and her work in connection with me. She evaded the question and said that Fannie wanted to take the children's meetings, if I would give my consent. I said, "Is this all, Sara?" She answered, "No, and I do not want to tell you what she said." I replied, "I believe it is my duty to know, for I am warned that Fannie is my adversary, and that she will misrepresent facts regarding her service in the work which will place me in a wrong light before the people."  {MR926 42.5}
     She then told me the tenor of the conversation that she had with her. She referred to the notice in the paper, the Echo that Professor Prescott had compiled a book on Christian Education, and here his name appears, and, she said, "Myself and poor little Marian are unnoticed, set down out of sight." She talked very strongly, making statements of the magnitude of the work she had done, and mourned because, although her talent was
                                                                           43
depended upon to prepare copy for the printer, her help was not acknowledged. She said, "You read the notice, Sara." She then raised her hand, pounded it on the paper on the table, and said with vehemence, "It is a lie! a lie! a lie!"  {MR926 42.6}
     I sent for Brother Prescott, and told him I was sure that Fannie was working most decidedly in the same lines that she had worked in America, pouring into other minds her version of things regarding her talents brought into the work there, because of which I had released her then from my services
. I told him of the painful experience I had passed through in Melbourne at the Brighton camp meeting two years ago, similar to what I passed through in California at one time, that had nearly cost me my life. "Now," I said, "She is taking the work up just where she left it two years ago."  {MR926 43.1}
     I said, "What is your opinion of this spirit, and this talk that is leavening the camp?" "O," said he, "I knew all this just as you have told it, in America. She came to my wife and me and laid it all open before us again in Cooranbong." Then he told how he met the matter.  {MR926 43.2}
     Afterward I sent for Sister Prescott and talked with her. She had told Fannie that all this was the work of Satan to control her mind, that he, through her, could cut the heart of Sister White. After this I called both Brother and Sister Prescott together and consulted as to what should be done.  {MR926 43.3}
     Monday, I spoke with Fannie after meeting and she was very desirous that I would consent for her to take the children's meeting.  {MR926 43.4}
     I said, "Fannie, do not engage in any kind of work for others on this ground but yourself, until your heart is changed and you have a new heart, a new mind. If anyone on this ground needs to search as with a lighted candle his own heart, it is you. I do not ask you to do another stroke of work for me on this ground or ever hereafter. I remove all objections as far as my work in connection with you is concerned." She went to bed sick, and was sick all last night.  {MR926 43.5}
     I have endeavored to find out other parties with whom she had talked. From one of our ministering brethren, I learned that while at the school she opened her grievances to Brother and Sister Malcolm, who were then new in the truth. She presented the matter to them in such a way that they thought injustice had been done to Fannie and Marian. They knew nothing of me and my work, and Fannie represented that she and Marian had brought all the talent and sharpness into my books, yet you were both ignored and set aside, and all the credit came to me.  {MR926 43.6}
     She had underscored some words in a book, "Christian Education," "beautiful words," she called them, and said that she had put in those words, they were hers. If this were the truth, I ask, Who told her to put in her words in my writings? She has, if her own statement is correct, been unfaithful to me.  {MR926 43.7}
     Sister Prescott however says that, in the providence of God that very article came to them (Brother and Sister Prescott) uncopied and in my own handwriting, and that these very words were in that letter. So Fannie's statement regarding these words is proved to be untrue.  {MR926 43.8}
     Monday, Fannie asked if I could pray with her. I told her, "Yes." But when I came home, I was too feeble. I could not talk with her or pray with her. I shall not talk with her again if I can help it. She can talk fluently, has no lack of words, can talk six words to my one. She must no longer have the slightest connection with me. If I had only carried out my convictions two years ago, I should have done my duty.
                                                                           44
 {MR926 43.9}
     I write you this, that you may know that I will not take so much as a shoe string from her wonderful talent. She may now exercise that talent as she chooses, and swell into the large place she thinks she could occupy. I have not a particle of confidence in her present position as a Christian. She has proved herself a traitor. If you had not tried so hard to keep her with me, through your sympathy, I should have severed all connection with her before this. How much harm she has done me and may do me in the future God alone knows.  {MR926 44.1}
     If after this meeting Fannie shall come to Granville, you must not put one line of anything I have written into her hands, or read a line to her of the Life of Christ. I would not have any [advice] from her. I am disconnected from Fannie because God requires it, and my own heart requires it. I am sorry for Fannie, but nevertheless it is truth. If God will help me then, I will praise His holy name.  {MR926 44.2}
     I want no further deceptions. I am sure that the Lord is holding me up and strengthening me. I felt this morning that the Lord had taken this matter out of my hands, and others must now handle it. Fannie now feels, as the matter has come out, about as she felt at Melbourne two years ago, but her repentance then was short-lived.  {MR926 44.3}
     She now tells others she feels very badly and wants me to forgive. This I can do, but can never connect her with me again.  {MR926 44.4}
     She becomes at times as verily possessed by demons as were human beings in the days of Christ. And when these paroxysms are upon her, many think she is inspired of God. She is fluent, her words come thick and fast, and she is under the control of demons. Then she claims that she has done the very things in my service I have told her in no case to do, that she has substituted her words for my words. This is bad enough. But when she takes the position that she has made my books, my articles and is responsible for the beautiful language, it is evident that Satan can through her do me any amount of harm. She can do more to implant doubts and sow seeds of evil than any person I know. She is a dangerous helper to me. She shall never have a chance again of mingling Fannie Bolton's wonderful talent with my work.  {MR926 44.5}
     She had nothing to do with my work until after the meeting at Minneapolis, yet the Lord had kept and helped me up to that time. After she went to Ann Arbor she did a little for me. She asked for some articles of mine to take with her to Ann Arbor, saying she loved the work. But I now think that she wished to use the pretext that she was employed by me in order to gain the confidence of others because I trusted her as my agent to prepare copy for my books.  {MR926 44.6}
     I see my folly now. I have not, since she came with me to Australia, had real peace and happiness with her. I have felt no peace, comfort and companionship with her.

The Ministry of Angels

     "And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha."      2 Kings 6:17.

     How few contemplate the unseen agencies. Men are acting their part either for God or for Satan, the Prince of Light, or the prince of darkness. All heaven is intensely interested in human beings who seem to be so full of activity, and yet have no thought for the unseen. Their thoughts are not on the Word of God and its instruction.

     If they would appropriate the Word of God, they would be astonished that there are agencies, good and evil, observing every word and deed. They are in every assembly for business transactions, in councils, and in meetings for the worship of God. There are more listeners in these public assemblies than can be seen with the natural sight, and every man has his work to do. Those unseen agencies are co-laborers with God or with Satan, and they work more mightily and more constantly than do men.

     Sometimes the heavenly intelligences draw aside the curtain that hides the unseen world, that we may have our minds withdrawn from the hurry and rush, and consider that there are witnesses to all we do and say when we [are] engaged in business, or when we think ourselves alone. The Lord would have our perceptions keen to understand that these mighty ones who visit our world have borne an active part in all the work which we have called our own.

     These heavenly beings are ministering angels (Hebrews 1:14) and they frequently disguise themselves in the form of human beings. As strangers they converse with those who are engaged in the work of God. In lonely places they have been the companions of the traveler in peril. In tempest-tossed ships angels in human form have spoken words of encouragement to allay fear and inspire hope in the hour of danger, and the passengers have thought that it was one of their number to whom they had never before spoken.

     Many, under different circumstances, have listened to the voices of the inhabitants of other worlds. They have come to act a part in this life. They have spoken in assemblies, and opened before assemblies human histories, and have done works which it was impossible for human agencies to do. Time and again have they been the generals of armies. They have been sent forth to cleanse away pestilence. They have eaten at the humble board of families. Often they have appeared as weary travelers in need of shelter for the night. We need to understand better than we do the work of these angel visitants.

"Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness...weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning."  Psalm 30:4,5

He is able to save to the Uttermost !

And this Man, because He continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore He is able also to save (deliver, rescue, set free,
heal and make whole) them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them
.” Hebrews 7:24-25

“. . . And He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon His throne; and He shall be a Priest upon
His throne: and the Counsel of Peace (Shalom) shall be between Them both

!”       Zechariah 6:13

Every provision has been made for our infirmities, every encouragement offered us to come to Christ.

Christ offered up His broken body to purchase back God’s heritage, to give man another trial. . . . By His spotless Life, His obedience, His death on the cross of Calvary, Christ interceded for the lost race. And now, not as a mere Petitioner does the Captain of our Salvationintercede for us, but as a Conqueror claiming His victory !

For we are more than conquerors through Him that loves us !” “And greater is He that is in you, than he that is in this world . . . !” Romans 8:37 & I John 4:4

His offering is complete, and as our Intercessor He executes His self-appointed work, holding before God the censer containing His own spotless merits (worthiness) and the prayers, confessions, and thanksgiving of His people. Perfumed with the fragrance of His righteousness, these ascend to God as a sweet savor. The offering is wholly acceptable, and pardon covers all transgression.

Christ has pledged Himself to be our substitute and surety, and He neglects no one. He Who could not see human beings exposed to eternal ruin without pouring out His soul unto death in their behalf, will look with pity and compassion upon every soul who realizes that he cannot save himself.

He will look upon no trembling suppliant without raising him up. He Who through His Own atonement provided for man an infinite fund of moral power, will not fail to employ this power in our behalf. We may take our sins and sorrows to His feet; for He loves us. His every look and Word invites our confidence. He will shape and mold our characters according to His Own will.

In the whole satanic force there is not power to overcome one soul who in simple trust casts himself on Christ. “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength.” Isaiah 40:29. - Our Father Cares p.77
