The NAME: Seventh Day Adventist

In Sept., 1852, Ellen White had a vision that prompted an article that was published in late 1853, in which she said, “The Lord has shown that gospel order has been too much feared and neglected. Formality should be shunned; but, in so doing, order should not be neglected. . . . Men whose lives are not holy and who are unqualified to teach the present truth enter the field without being acknowledged by the church or the brethren generally, and confusion and disunion are the result. . . . These self-sent messengers are a curse to the cause. . . . I saw that this door at which the enemy comes in to perplex and trouble the flock can be shut. I inquired of the angel how it could be closed. He said, ‘The church must flee to God’s Word and become established upon gospel order, which has been overlooked and neglected.’ This is indispensably necessary in order to bring the church into the unity of the faith.”—Early Writings, pp. 97-100; “As our numbers increased, it was evident that without some form of organization there would be great confusion, and the work would not be carried forward successfully. To provide for the support of the ministry, for carrying the work in new fields, for protecting both the churches and the ministry from unworthy members, for holding church property, for the publication of the truth through the press, and for many other objects, organization was indispensable.”—Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel Workers, p. 26; see Testimonies, vol. 1, pp. 210-216.

16. Throughout the meetings Ellen White stayed in the background, but as soon as the name was chosen she sent out the following endorsement: “No name which we can take will be appropriate but that which accords with our profession and expresses our faith and marks us a peculiar people. The name Seventh-day Adventist is a standing rebuke to the Protestant world. . . . The name Seventh-day Adventist carries the true features of our faith in front, and will convict the inquiring mind. Like an arrow from the Lord’s quiver, it will wound the transgressors of God’s law, and will lead to repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.”—Testimonies, vol. 1, pp. 223, 224. Another name considered was “The Church of God.”—See Damsteegt, Foundations, pp. 254, 255.

John 14:6 "Jesus answered, "I am THE WAY and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through ME." John 6:63 "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: THE WORDS that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."

" 'The words that I speak are spirit and life' John 6:63. Christ is not here referring to His doctrine, but to His person, the divinity of His character.” 1 Selected Messages p. 249

Psalm 77:13 KJV - "Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?" Hebrews 10:5 "a body hast thou prepared me." 1 Corinthians 6:15-20 KJV "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" John 14:20 "At that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you."  2 Corinthians 6:16 "...for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people." 1 Corinthians 6:13 "the body... is... for the Lord; and the Lord for the body." John 14:23 "Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Romans 8:9 "You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ." 1 Corinthians 3:16 "Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in your midst?" God's Spirit dwells inside us through Christ! Ezekiel 37:27 "My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people." Philippians 2:5 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:" Romans 15:3 "For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: "The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me."" Matthew 11:29 "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Genesis 12:3 "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."

Go to God ALWAYS, on all occasions, in all circumstances of darkness - doubt, fear, trouble, trial, conflict, temptation. Husbands, are you tempted? Wives, are you? Parents, are you? Children, are you? Go to God; flee to your closets, run. Fall on your faces; plead the promises, the merits of Christ; his atonement, sacrifice, righteousness, salvation and sanctification. “Resist the Devil and he will flee from you.” In all domestic arrangements, in family trials and duties, in church trials and duties - go to God, lay the case before him in humble faith; tell Him all your heart, pour out your soul.

Husbands, have you a petulant, impatient, troublesome, fault-finding wife, whose tongue is a trip hammer, or perpetual motion, a continual dropping on a very rainy day; whose tongue, though a little member, no man can tame? Is it so? Are you daily in the very midst of this flame? What now? Where now? To God? Certainly, by all means. Run for your life. - Golden Rule.

There is to be no compromise with those who are worshiping an idol sabbath. We are not to spend our time in controversy with those who know the Truth, and upon whom the light of Truth has been shining, when they turn away their ear from the Truth to turn to fables. I was told that men will employ every policy to make less prominent the difference between the faith of Seventh-day Adventists and those who observe the first day of the week. In this controversy the whole world will be engaged, and the time is short. This is no time to haul down our colors.

"Many claim that a position of trust in the church gives them authority to dictate what other men shall believe and what they shall do. This claim God does not sanctionThe Desire of Ages, p. 414.3.

PREDICTION:
"A company was presented before me under the name of Seventh-day Adventists, who were advising that the banner or sign which makes us a distinctive people should not be held out so strikingly; for they claimed it was not the best policy in securing success to our institutions. This distinctive banner is to be borne through the world to the close of probation"  Selected Messages Book 2, p. 385.2 (Ellen G. White).

"The wide diversity of belief in the Protestant churches is regarded by many as decisive proof that no effort to secure a forced uniformity can ever be made. But there has been for years, in churches of the Protestant faith, a strong and growing sentiment in favor of a union based upon common points of doctrine. To secure such a union, the discussion of subjects upon which all were not agreed--however important they might be from a Bible standpoint--must necessarily be waived" {GC88 444.1}.

FULFILLMENT OF PREDICTION:
What about Religious Liberty being the God-given right to study, stand by, and proclaim only His truth, and to expose error?
"Included in such discussions have been related theological concepts such as the nature of Christ, the nature of man, the nature of sin, perfection, and the question as to whether it is possible for a Christian to live a sinless life.  In our judgment these complex theological and biblical issues need not be settled in detail in order to rejoice in the gracious provision of salvation through faith in Christ...We are requesting that we refrain from involving ourselves in public presentations of the fine points and the controversial aspects of the theology of righteousness by faith....
"We should all seek to diminish the flood of cassettes, brochures, books, and miscellaneous documents...This ended the discussion because the voice of the highest authority had spoken." AR May 24, 1979, p 4-5.

"It is our responsibility to study the Scriptures for ourselves, to ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to submit our understandings to those in the church who are able to judge our findings, and then to abide by the decisions of the church..." Adult Sabbath School Quarterly, Lesson 13, March 28, 1987, p 92.

"Leadership will lead in love and understanding, and followership will support the church leadership unfailingly, even though necessarily critical of some decisions of leadership." AR October 25, 1979, p 14.

"...the position of the majority group of sane leadership which is determined to put the brakes on any members who seek to hold views divergent from that of the responsible leadership of the denomination." Eternity magazine, September, 1957, quoting the stated positions of SDA church leaders; article titled "Are Seventh Day Adventist Christians?"

In describing the remnant people of God, John says, "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus" (Revelation 14:12). This is the law and the gospel. The world and the churches are uniting in harmony in transgressing the law of God, in tearing away God's memorial, and in exalting a sabbath that bears the signature of the man of sin. But the Sabbath of the Lord thy God is to be a sign to show the difference between the obedient and the disobedient. I saw some reaching out their hands to remove the banner, and to obscure its significance. . . .  {2SM 385.2}   ref: Exodus 31:17 & Hebrews 4:1-10

Zion the bride of Christ, equals the New Jerusalem equals Philadelphia equals the heavenly church triumphant, equals the 144,000 equals the Remnant equals the True Reformers, equals the church triumphant that is translated without seeing death.

First we will identify the player Zion from Scripture. Isaiah 62 gives a vivid description of Zion, that she is the "Bethulah," strictly pure virgin of verse 5, and receives a New Name, verse 2, making her the New Jerusalem, the "Mother" Bride of Jesus Christ. In the family of God schema, the Mother has sons and daughters, the ten-virgins, that are concubines, and not strictly pure virgins, as is Bethula, the Hebrew term for virgin in verse 5. Let us take a look at these verses:

"For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, [a torchlight COL, 405-6] and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a NEW NAME, which the mouth of the Lord shall name. Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; [she is now] neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate [it is now]; but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the Lord delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married. For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee. I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence. And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth....
Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones [the cherished errors and false doctrines]; lift up a standard for the people [the law of God]. Behold, the Lord hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. And they shall call them, The holy [chosen] people, the redeemed of the Lord: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken." Isaiah 62.

"Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God,and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is New Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my NEW NAME." Rev. 3:12.
"Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth." Rev. 3:10.

It is Zion who gets the NEW NAME, which is THE NEW JERUSALEM, and is identified as Philadelphia. She is "kept" or preserved and protected from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth, and this is none other than the Great Time of Jacob's trouble. Only the bride of Christ, the 144,000 go the complete distance through this time to be translated without seeing death.

Zion as The Firstfruits, Firstborn – the 144,000

"And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's [New] name written in their foreheads....
And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women [fallen churches by ecumenical involvement]; for they are [strictly pureBethulah] virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, beingthe FIRSTFRUITS [FIRSTBORN HEB. 12:22, 23] unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guild: for they are without fault before the throne of God." Rev. 14:1, 3-5.

"Nearest the throne are those who were once zealous in the cause of Satan, but who, plucked as brands from the burning, have followed their Saviour with deep, intense devotion. Next are those who perfected Christian character in the midst of falsehood and infidelity, those who honored the law of God when the Christian world declared it void, and the millions, of all ages, who were martyred for their faith [144,000 and their spiritual children and concubines and their children]. And beyond is the 'great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues." E.G. White, The Great Controversy, 665, 1911 edition.

Revelation 7:17 "For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; 'he (Christ) will lead them to springs of living water.' 'And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.'"

Revelation 21:9 "Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb." The 144,000 are the wife of the Lamb. The Spirit (Christ) and the Bride (144,000) say "COME" to the 5 wise virgins, who are the people of God, the guests, who join the wedding party procession! Matthew 25:6 "And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him." Christ and His Bride say COME OUT OF ALL CHURCHES and FOLLOW CHRIST ALONE. Come out of all churches into the ark of Christ's body! Be covered with the righteousness (truth) of Christ. Christ is our PRIZE! Take hold of Him today! Touch the hem of His garments and be healed of sin!

Revelation 21:2
I saw the Holy City (144,000), the new Jerusalem (144,000), coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride (144,000) beautifully dressed for her husband (Christ).

New Jerusalem - “I saw that while Jesus was in the Most Holy Place He would be married to the New Jerusalem; and after His work should be accomplished in the holiest, He would descend to the earth in kingly power, and take to Himself the precious ones who had patiently waited His return.”—Early Writings, 251:1.

Did you know YOU can JOIN the City of the LORD, Zion of the Holy One of Israel TODAY? It is spiritual joining --- to the MIND of Christ, to become His Body....only the elite force of God's people become part of the 144,000 - those who practice the truths given to SDA's in '41, '42, '43 and 1844. These are like the "Navy Seals" or "Green Berets" or "special forces" FOR God's work...those who are DEDICATED like Daniel, Moses, Noah, Caleb and Joshua, Queen Esther, Ruth, Job, Priests of the Sanctuary... today we are to be priests of the Heavenly Sanctuary, preserving the attributes/character of Christ in a wicked world, priests of the 1843 and 1850 charts given to our pioneers - these two charts are the WINGS described in Rev 12:14, Deuteronomy 32:11. These two charts also represent the two breasts given to feed God's people during the time of trouble to prepare them to stand in the sight of a Holy God without a mediator.

Isaiah 40:31
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings (the two charts, the 1843 and 1850 charts - NOT the 1863 chart) like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 60:14
The children of your oppressors will come bowing before you; all who despise you will bow down at your feet and will call you the City of the LORD, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

The prophet Isaiah saw the end-time saints as a wedding party. He saw them going forth with lamps shining brightly, even in the midst of thick darkness. Everyone is to hear the last call to the marriage supper of the Lamb. . . . These words are for us! Matthew 25:7 "Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps.

Isaiah 60:1-5: “Arise, shine; for thy light (living reality experiencing Jesus helping you in your life trials obeying testing perfecting messages=latter rain) is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:1. TO THOSE WHO GO OUT TO MEET THE BRIDEGROOM IS THIS MESSAGE GIVEN."  Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 420.3

Jeremiah 6:16 "Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein."

The last and eighth church is called "THE WAY" the church triumphant, Zion, the church of the firstborn, Philadelphia, Remnant. The Way, follows Christ alone. Wherever HE GOES. "THE WAY" JOINS the wedding party procession that is already in progress. The Bride (144,000) AND the GUESTS (wise virgins) join THE WAY. The Guests ARE NOT the Bride. The Guests, are the 5 wise virgins, the people of God, who obey the voice of the Bridegroom and His Bride.

The Spirit (Christ
Ephesians 2:18and His Bride say "COME" Matthew 25:6 "And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him."; break the church cords that bind them and stand separated from apostasy. They have home churches and small groups like jets of light streaming all over the world. Like the apostles were called "THE WAY". THE WAY follows Christ wherever he goes: Revelation 14:4 "These are those who did not defile themselves with women (churches), for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes". See Acts 24:14 "But this I confess unto thee, that after the Way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:"

Those who followed Christ after His resurrection were called "THE WAY"! The first 12 apostles beliefs were called "THE WAY"! The last 144,000 apostles are also called "THE WAY"! Tons of Bible verses talk about "THE WAY"! THE WAY IS JESUS! THE WAY IS RIGHTEOUSNESS BY FAITH (faith is hope = hope is positive expection = expectation that God will fulfill His pledged precious promises in the Bible for us to claim as our very own to become Holy=in agreement with God, claim Jude 1:24 = to overcome and ENDURE while suffering persecution for Christ's sake) IN THE LIVING WAY! JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD!

Acts 9:2
and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem.

Acts 19:9
But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned
the Way. So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.

Acts 19:23
About that time there arose a great disturbance about the Way.

Acts 22:4
I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison,

Acts 24:14
However, I admit that I worship the God of our ancestors as a follower of the Way, which they call a sect. I believe everything that is in accordance with the Law and that is written in the Prophets,

KJV ACTS 24:14 "But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:"

New Living Translation ACTS 24:14 "But I admit that I follow the Way, which they call a cult. I worship the God of our ancestors, and I firmly believe the Jewish law and everything written in the prophets.

Acts 28:22
But we want to hear what your views are, for we know that people everywhere are talking against this sect."

Acts 24:22
Then Felix, who was well acquainted with the Way, adjourned the proceedings. "When Lysias the commander comes," he said, "I will decide your case."

Hebrews 9:8
The Holy Spirit was showing by this that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still functioning.

Hebrews 10:20
by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body,

1 John 5:20
We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are
in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

1 Peter 3:16
keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

1 Peter 4:14
If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

1 Peter 4:16
However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

It is time for all of God’s true followers to no longer sheepishly remain dumb and silent when our Lord is being betrayed!

“Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.” Isaiah 58:1.

It is time to no longer fellowship with an apostate church believing that God will miraculously remove away all the evil.

“I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.  I have hated the congregation of evildoers; and will not sit with the wicked.” Psalms 26:4-5.

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?  And what concord hath Christ with Belial?...Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing...” 2 Corinthians 6:14-15, 17.

It is time no longer to remain a member in an apostate church believing that your membership in a once chosen but now corrupt church will save you from destruction.

A good tree cannot being forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." Matthew 7:16-20.

"Not by its name, but by its fruit , is the value of a tree determined. If the fruit is worthless, the name cannot save the tree from destruction. If their life and character were not in harmony with God’s law, they were not His people." Desire of Ages, p 106-107.

"I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts...And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord God shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name." Isaiah 65:2, 15.

Although some united churches still have their own name, they now exchange clergy and for all intent and purposes have put aside any doctrinal differences. The pastor serves as a goodwill ambassador in there is no emphasis on important doctrines. The result is that we now see a change in the view of the authority of the Bible. Now practices unheard of in the church are now accepted. Now all church doctrine takes its cue from the secular world. See appeal of modern SDA church to UNIFY:  http://www.adventist.org/beliefs/other-documents/statements-on-un.html

We listened to this excellent report by Br. Raphael Perez today, he is the Pastor of the little Eternal Gospel church in Florida that the GC took to court over their trade-marked name, but it was also because he was preaching the real Three Angels Messages.  It is in two parts.

The Vision of Ezekiel 8-9
The people in Ezekiel's vision also broke the first four commandments by idolatry before the wrath of God was sent on those without the mark of God.
Idol One God. They worshipped an idol
Idol Carved Images. They prayed to images of idols, beasts and creeping things carved on the temple walls.
Idol Name of God. They cried for Tammuz, (today named Mystery Trinity of 3 gods- see Rev 17:5) the god who was resurrected and died after each harvest.
Idol Sabbath. They worshipped the sun.

BABYLON NIMROD LED A REBELLION AGAINST JEHOVAH GOD

There was abomination in the house of God because the priests broke the commandments and changed the worship of God. This apostasy occurred while the people were captives in Babylon. At the end of time, while we are living in Babylon the Great a similar apostasy occurs. The church and state create a new covenant when they change the law of God and force the whole world to worship the dragon through these laws. They also change the first four commandments.
ChristTammuz
Maker of the SunSun god
Promised SeedVegetation god
Crucified and resurrectedDeath and rebirth
This pattern also validates our claim that the breaking of the fourth commandment involves sun worship, or in our case, a change from the Sabbath to worship on Sunday, a day dedicated to the Sun. What is also remarkable is that God described each abomination as being worse than the former. So the apostasy is complete when Sun worship occurs.

An Earlier Abomination. Tammuz was the god of the sun, vegetation, death and rebirth. He rose from the dead every spring. He appears to be usurping the role of Christ. The name of Christ is the name that we should call upon to be saved. Not Tammuz (today mystery trinity of gods), a prototype of the Antichrist.

Some statements you might find of interest. You seem to believe that the denominational name Seventh-day Adventists has virtue to bring us into favor with God. That is contrary to the rest of the weight of evidence:

"We ARE NOT saved as a sect; no denominational name has any virtue to bring us into favor with God. We are saved individually as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ." E.G. White, Review and Herald Articles, vol. 2, p. 464.

Adventism is a SECT.

The people were beginning to express doubt because the prophecy took a long time to be fulfilled.
Son of man, what is this proverb you people have concerning the land of Israel saying "The days are long and every vision fails"?.
For I the Lord will speak and whatever word I speak will be performed. It will no longer be delayed, for in your days, O rebellious house, I will speak the word and perform it, declares the Lord God.
(Ezekiel 12: 22,25)
and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things in it, and the earth and the things in it, and the sea and the things in it, that there will be delay no longer, but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then the mystery of God is finished, as He preached to His servants the prophets. (Revelation 10: 6-7)

In the last days the mockers will essentially claim that the delay was from the beginning of creation.
Know this first of all that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation". (2 Peter 3: 3-4)

"The Lord would teach man the lesson though united in church capacity, he is not saved until the seal of God is placed upon him." E.G. White Comments, SDA Bible Commentary, vol. 7, p. 969.

"In every nation whosoever believes with all his heart in the Lord Jesus is accepted of God. Here, truly, is the church, out[side] of which no one can be saved." The Great Controversy,  p. 181.

"God has a church.  It is not the great cathedral, neither is it the national establishmentneither is it the various denominations; it is the people who love God and keep His commandments.  'Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them' [Matt. 18:20].  Where Christ is even among the humble few, this is Christ's church, for the presence of the High and Holy One who inhabiteth eternity can alone constitute a church." The Upward Look, 315.

The Saints an Obscure People Little Known to the Catholics

The Birth of the Remnant Church 1844-1894 = two groups. Wise or foolish virgins who either buy of Jesus oil for their lamps and gold and get the eyesalve or don't. One group goes with the bridegroom, the other is left out and is the Synagogue of Satan and is brought down to hell. True Adventists obey their Shepard's voice in Rev 18:4 the 2nd Angels message by "Coming out of ALL churches, My people." --Jesus Christ

Draw nigh and buy that which you have lost—the gold of love and faith, and the white raiment which is the righteousness of Christ.

Jesus invites us to buy of him:

·         buy; “be zealous and repent”.  We must buy; “be zealous and repent” of our lukewarm state. We must be awake to see our wrongs, and to search up our sins, and to zealously repent of them.

·         The gold he bids us buy of him is the gold of character. "it is character alone that god values."  the knowledge of god alone that can make us like god in character: “a knowledge of god is the foundation of all true education and of all true service. It is the only real safeguard against temptation.”  Through the knowledge of god and of his son, jesus christ, are given to the believer “all things that pertain unto life and godliness.” The gold that Jesus would have us buy of Him is gold tried in the fire; it is the gold of faith and love, that has no defiling substance mingled with it.

·         The eye salve is obtained by earnest seeking of the lord. We are to come to god confessing our sins and humbling our hearts before him. The eye salve is the true spiritual discernment that is so wanting among us, for spiritual things must be spiritually discerned {the Review and Herald, April 1, 1890}. The “eyesalve,” studying the Word of God, makes the conscience smart under its application; for it convicts of sin. He would anoint the blind eyes, that they may discover the holy character of God in His law, and understand the love of Christ, which is indeed gold tried in the fire. The eye is the sensitive conscience, the inner light, of the mind. Upon its correct view of things the spiritual healthfulness of the whole soul and being depends.

·         The white raiment is the righteousness of christ, the wedding garment which christ alone can give. The white raiment is the righteousness of Christ that may be wrought into the character. Purity of heart, purity of motive, will characterize everyone who is washing his robe, and making it white in the blood of the Lamb.

1909 -- “If ever there was a people who needed to pray most earnestly to god, if ever there was a people who needed to strip themselves of everything that is offensive to him, it is this people who profess to keep the commandments of god and to have the faith of jesus."  —{gcb june 6, 1909, par. 6}

“having received the faith of the gospel, ... The believer is to add to his character virtue, and thus cleanse the heart and prepare the mind for the reception of the knowledge of god. This knowledge is the foundation of all true education and of all true service. It is the only real safeguard against temptation; and it is this alone that can make one like god in character. Through the knowledge of god and of his son, jesus christ, are given to the believer “all things that pertain unto life and godliness.” No good gift is withheld from him who sincerely desires to obtain the righteousness of god.” —{Reflecting christ, page 314}

“What is the shame of this nakedness and poverty? It is the shame of clothing ourselves with self-righteousness, and of separating ourselves from God, when He has made ample provision for all to receive His blessing. Says Christ, By renouncing your own self-sufficiency, giving up all things, however dear to you, you may buy the gold, the raiment, and the eyesalve that you may see. We cannot purchase anything from God. It is only by grace, the free gift of God in Christ, that we are saved. Then what is it to buy the eternal treasure?—It is simply to give back to Jesus his own, to receive him into the heart by faith. It is cooperation with God; it is bearing the yoke with Christ; it is lifting his burdens. For our sakes he became poor, that we through his poverty might be made rich. The Lord Jesus laid aside his royal crown, he left his high command, he clothed his divinity with humanity, in order that through humanity he might uplift the human race.”  —{S.D.A. Bible Commentary Vol. 7, p. 965.2 }

Did you get that? “What is the shame of this nakedness and poverty? “…of separating ourselves from God!” If we as a “professed” Adventist have rashly denied the BRIGHT light set up behind us {our historical SDA foundational doctrines} by rejecting the one and only true God, “professed” Adventists today are shamefully naked! Without God and His power! "Why is there so dim a perception of the true spiritual condition of the church?  Has not blindness fallen upon the watchmen standing on the walls of Zion?...Who can truthfully say, 'Our gold is tried in the fire; our garments are unspotted by the world'?  I saw our Instructor pointing to the garments of so-called righteousness.  Stripping them off, He laid bare the defilement beneath.  Then He {Christ} said to me: 'Can you not see how they have pretentiously covered up their defilement and rottenness of character?  'How is the faithful city become an harlot!  My Father's house is made a house of merchandise, A PLACE WHENCE THE DIVINE PRESENCE AND GLORY HAVE DEPARTED!'"  —{Testimonies, vol 8, p 248-250, April 21, 1903}

"Behold the Bridegroom cometh. Jesus turned from them with a frown. They had slighted and rejected him. Those who received the message were wrapped in a cloud of glory. They waited and watched and prayed to know the will of God. They greatly feared to offend him. I saw Satan and his angels seeking to shut this divine light from the people of God; but as long as the waiting ones cherished the light, and kept their eyes raised from earth to Jesus, Satan could have no power to deprive them of this precious light. The message given from heaven enraged Satan and his angels, and those who professed to love Jesus, but despised his coming, scorned and derided the faithful, trusting ones. But an angel marked every insult, every slight, every abuse they received from their professed brethren. Very many raised their voices to cry, Behold the Bridegroom cometh, and left their brethren who did not love the appearing of Jesus, and who would not suffer them to dwell upon his second coming. I saw Jesus turn his face from those who rejected and despised his coming, and then he bade angels lead his people out from among the unclean, lest they should be defiled. Those obedient to the messages stood out free and united. A holy and excellent light shone upon them. They renounced the world, tore their affections from it, and sacrificed their earthly interests. They gave up their earthly treasure, and their anxious gaze was directed to heaven, expecting to see their loved Deliverer. A sacred, holy joy beamed upon their countenances, and told of the peace and joy which reigned within. Jesus bade his angels go and strengthen them, for the hour of their trial drew on. I saw that these waiting ones were not yet tried as they must be. They were not free from errors. And I saw the mercy and goodness of God in sending a warning to the people of earth, and REPEATED MESSAGES to bring them up to a point of time, to lead them to a diligent search of themselves, that they might divest themselves of errors which have been handed down from the heathen and papists. Through these messages God has been BRINGING OUT his people where he can work for them in greater power, and where they can keep ALL His commandments." —{Spiritual Gifts, Volume 1, Page 157}

“The eye salve is the true spiritual discernment that is so wanting among us, for spiritual things must be spiritually discerned.”
{The Review and Herald, April 1, 1890}.

Warning for those who think or say these words: “God is blessing me, so I must be doing all right. I have all, or most of the truth I need. I keep the Sabbath every week and help people.” Don’t think for a second that you are safe until you are standing in the City of God. If you think that you are pretty safe, you need to study more than anyone else. Talents are the material things and abilities God gives you, to work for Him. Don’t take it for granted it’s because you are righteous: Isaiah 45:5 "I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:" Psalm 18:32 "It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect." It is character alone that God values. In the greatness of their ignorance, in the poverty of their spirit, they feel that they have attained unto the measure of the full stature of men and women in Christ, when they are mere babes in understanding.

Says Christ, By renouncing your own self-sufficiency, giving up all things, however dear to you, you may buy the gold, the raiment, and the eyesalve that you may see.

The great Hebrew Prophet Isaiah wrote: "thou shalt be called by a new name which the mouth of the Lord shall name." (Isaiah 62) (2:6)

And again Isaiah warned: "ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord God shall slay thee and call his servants by another name." (Isaiah 65) (2:7)

Jesus promised: "Him that overcometh... I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. " (Revelation 3:12) (2:9)

Jesus repeats this same promise of a "new name" two other times in this same book. For example Revelation 19:11 reads: "I saw Heaven being opened. And, behold! A white horse, and He sitting on it having been called Faithful and True. And He judges and wars in righteousness. 12 And His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head many diadems, having a name that had been written, which no one knows except Himself; 13 and having been clothed in a garment which had been dipped in blood. And His name is called The Word of God." (2:10) Jesus Christ.... Ye are Christ's and Christ is God's!

Could it be that those who are making the Exodus from all churches, like the Exodus from Egypt, do not have a "denominational name" but only His name, Ye are CHRIST'S "which no one knows except Himself", no one knows who is regenerated by the Holy Spirit, just by looking at them, except Jesus Himself. If we are worshiping in home churches scattered throughout the world, Ellen White does say something in her first vision that she could not find the Advent people in the world...when a voice said, "Look again, and look a little higher." She could not find God's people in the modern SDA church? Is it because they were God's people in home churches with a name "which no one knows " save Himself? My sheep know/listen/obey to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27.

This is a very interesting site. Check it out about the NEW NAME. http://doubleportioninheritance.blogspot.com/2011/05/mark-of-yhwh-or-mark-of-beast.html

The organization of the Reformed Church under Jesus Christ, consisted of home churches dotting the hills and valleys of Judea and elsewhere. This is His plan for His last remnant church. These home churches are furnished with leaders appointed by God, and they are following His lead. They are not perfect, and they have wheat and tares dwelling together, but the valid among them will not permit membership to open sinners who refuse to reform. These little home churches become obscure to the rest of the church who would expose them to the Catholics when things get really hot:

"I saw the nominal church and nominal Adventists, like Judas, would betray us to the Catholics to obtain their influence to come against the truth. The saints then will be an obscure [hidden] people, little known to the Catholics; but the churches and nominal Adventists who know of our faith and customs (for they hate us on account of the Sabbath, for they could not refute it) will betray the saints and report them to the Catholics as those who disregard the institutions of the people; that is, that they keep the Sabbath and disregard Sunday.

Then the Catholics bid the Protestants to go forward, and issue a decree that all who will not observe the first day of the week, instead of the seventh day, shall be slain. And the Catholics, whose numbers are large, will stand by the Protestants. The Catholics will give their power to the image of the beast. And the Protestants will work as their mother worked before them to destroy the saints. But before their decree bring or bear fruit, the saints will be delivered by the Voice of God. Then I saw that Jesus' work in the sanctuary will soon be finished. And after His work there is finished, He will come to the door of the first apartment, and confess the sins of Israel upon the head of the Scape Goat. Then He will put on the garments of vengeance. Then the plagues will come upon the wicked, and they do not come till Jesus puts on that garment, and takes Hs place upon the great white cloud. Then while the plagues are falling, the Scape Goat is being led away. He makes a mighty struggle to escape, but he is held fast by the hand that leads him. If he should effect his escape, Israel would lose their lives. I saw that it would take time to lead away the Scape Goat into the land of forgetfulness after the sins were put on his head.

The great white cloud I saw was not the holy place, but entirely separate from the holy and most holy place, entirely separate from the sanctuary.

Then the angel repeated these words, and said, 'This is the time spoken of in Isaiah. He saw that there was not man, and wondered that there was no intercessor. He had no mediator between God and man, and these plagues could be withheld no longer, for Jesus had ceased to plead for Israel, and they were covered with the covering of the Almighty God, and they could live in the sight of a holy God, and those who were not covered, the plagues fell upon them, for they had nothing to shelter or protect them from the wrath of God." E.G. White, Dorchester, Maine, October 23, 1850, Spalding--Magan's Unpublished Mss. Testimonies, pp. 1, 2.

Remain in the imposter organization, and you will not be obscure to the Catholics when the time comes! This is a crucial warning. You have been warned.

The third of Jesus' "new name" prophecies is from Revelation 2:17: "The one who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one overcoming (people still working on overcoming sin, washing our robes in the blood of the lamb, striving to be like Jesus, giving up all, forsaking all for Jesus Christ? obeying without delay, buying gold, putting on eyesalve etc.), I will give him to eat from the hidden manna. And I will give to him a white stone, and on the stone a new name having been written, which no one knows except the one receiving it." (2:12)

"As the Lord bade faithful Noah before the flood, Come thou, and all thy house, into the ark, he will, previous to the time of trouble, say to his faithful saints, who have been preparing for translation (buying gold and putting on eyesalve=studying Bible/SOP, striving to be like Jesus, love, faith, prayer and studying the Bible), “Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers (rooms/homes), and shut thy doors about thee. Hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth, also, shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.” Spiritual Gifts, Volume 4a, p. 149.1

"I seemed to be surrounded with light, and to be rising higher and higher from the earth. I turned to look for the advent people in the world, but could not find them, when a voice said to me, "Look again, and look a little higher." At this, I raised my eyes, and saw a straight and narrow path, cast up high above the world. On this path the advent people were traveling to the city which was at the farther end of the path. They had a bright light set up behind them at the beginning of the path (historical Adventist doctrines), which an angel told me was the "midnight cry." [See Matthew 25:6.] This light shone all along the path, and gave light for their feet, so that they might not stumble."

According to this passage, the Son of Man will come with a new name "which no one knows except Himself" and he will come wearing a red robe.

There is a big discussion amongst those who have left the Seventh Day Adventist Church as to what they should call themselves. Many believe they MUST call themselves Seventh Day Adventists, others don't know what to call themselves. I think this verse from Isaiah sheds some much needed light on the subject:

"I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts...And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord God shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name." Isaiah 65:2, 15.

And...."We are not saved as a sect; no denominational name has any virtue to bring us into favor with God. We are saved individually as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ." -RH 02/10/1891.

Friends, sadly, the NAME - Seventh Day Adventists does not mean TODAY what it meant 100 years ago. There are many words that no longer mean what they used to....think about it - the word "GAY" - it used to describe someone who was HAPPY....today, it commonly describes a HOMOSEXUAL. The meaning of man words change over time. So today, the name "Seventh Day Adventists" no longer means what it used to mean.

"For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written." Romans 2:24. Truly, the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of Seventh Day Adventists. Abortions are preformed in SDA hospitals.http://www.thenarrowwayministries.org/DownloadFile.asp?FileName=Abortion.pdf

The world is proclaiming the inconsistencies -http://onfaith.washingtonpost.com/onfaith/undergod/2011/01/adventists_and_abortion.html

We are called to be loyal to the TRUTH, not to a CHURCH....sadly, history has taught the same story over and over again...that Churches eventually leave the Truth....when that happens, God's people need to stay with the Truth and not with the Church.

Churches like businesses, change ownerships all the time...yet they keep the same name. That is what has happened with the SDA Church. It has become a business, and has been sold to "new owners"...all  the while still being called by the same name.

So friend, are you going to remain loyal to the Truth, or to a church that blasphemes the name of God? They are pagan god worshipers, they are the Synagogue of Satan! They are worse than a plain Satan worshiping church. I don't want to be connected with THAT?

I am beginning to say when asked what church I belong to, that "I cannot find a church in today's world that keeps all ten commandments of God. I am Christ's, I belong to the firstborn church in Heaven. We have home church and Jesus is our Shepard, our Pastor, the builder of this church our bodies that keep the commandments of God."

I am of SDA historical belief for sure. I would say I am an historical Adventist, but people have bad connotations of that name today. If God wants me to say it, I will, but I have to make so many explanations when I do...like, no I don't believe in the Modern SDA church, I cannot be a member because they have left the foundational historical doctrines, I am a historical SDA... I don't know. I am studying about it and praying about it too.

Did you know, that there is talk of changing the SDA church name also...not just signage changes, but name changes? I'll get the email and forward it to you.... my Mother sent it to me, the email orginated in France, I believe.

Thank you for your email.  Yes, I can confirm that the move for changing our God’s given name of Seventh Day Adventist is about to change for Catholic Apostolic Church, following a conversation that I had last Sunday with one of an influential and genuine Seventh day Adventist brothers from France. Apparently there will be other changes: the Lord’s Supper for instance, will be called, the Eucharist,  while the Sabbath school will be called: the Catechism.   As you can see all these new names are from Catholic derivation. It is believed also from  Adventist official sources, that  a meeting will be held shortly on this issue with Pentecostal, Evangelical, and Adventist representatives in America in a top secret location, as the Adventist leaders do not want the church members to know anything about such a move until things are done and settled. This is what I was told.  While the devil is seeking actively to destroy our churches, let us never forget that our Lord is in control of every situation and the devil will not prevail. God bless.

Dear Brother Bodinate, Have you been able to find out any more regarding the actions of the President of the South of France Conference.  It would be interesting to learn that what we have heard is 100% correct. So much is going on right now, more information seems to be coming in all the time.  One thing is sure that time is very fast running out.  The enemy is certainly steeling a march on so very many, too many are sleeping Rom. 13:11-12. subjectcopy of e-mail I sent to you about name changing in France

   Hi -----,

This e-mail we got for a lady was about France SDA Church getting named changed to Catholic Apostolic Church. I shared the e-mail with a friend 83 years old and she showed it to her pastor in a very small SDA Church today and he said,
"So it is out" (the news in the e-mail about the secret meeting going to take place in a secret place with the Evangelicals, Pentacostals and the SDA leader or leaders and do not want the members to know about it until it is said and done) then she ask him "What about that emblem or trademark on our church sign" ? He took 2 steps backward and He said, "It is Pagan".  But I can live with that!.  (when I heard that, I thought he wants a paycheck-- so he can live with that Pagan sign on the church yard.  I thought Well, maybe he is Catholic? We have known him for at least nearly 30 years. This lady that showed him the e-mail about the name change is 83 years old and called me and told me about what he said today.  He has the church service early and leaves as quickly as possible & goes to his next church. she said. He did not act like he wanted to talk anymore about what she was asking about. After the church service was over, she shared the e-mail with all the rest of the members who would read it. which is only a handful of members.   She wants me to let her know about any new information in regards to this.   She sounded like she might quit going to the church because of the false doctrines they are teaching and the church being Pagan.  At 83 she is quite energetic about knowing and keeping the truth. She said, she thinks he knows more about that secret meeting than he wanted to let on. --

She also said to him, "Do you think that will happen here?" about the name changing etc. He said, "OH NO, that will never happen here, Not as long as he is there."  Will see what happens next.

God bless and have a wonderful day.

I sent her the colored picture page of Rooted in Paganism and the info about it. She thought that was really
something. + more info I sent to her about the Holy Spirit and also info on The Truth about God etc.

In the following quotation, see how plain the Lord portrays the two parties spoken of in Rev. 12:17 . The seed of the woman- the Laodicean Church, Adventists--and the remnant of them that have left them.

"God has given me this message to bear to those who are out of line: 'Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces. Take counsel together, and it shall come to naught; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us. For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying, Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.'
In these last days, there are arising strange fallacies and man-made theories which God declares shall be broken in pieces...Men occupying high positions of trust have revealed this unlawful desire for gain; they have practiced extortion and robbery [eg. Davenport affair], and have gratified the evil passions of their hearts, until our cities [and churches] are corrupted through their wickedness....
In this representation of the prophet [Isaiah 8:9-12 quoted above] we see that Satan is at work not only with worldlings, who have not the fear and love of God before them, but also with those who profess faith in Christ. Here are plainly represented two distinct parties, formed from a company that was once united [one united as Philadelphia--then comprised of Omega New Movement Apostates--Selected Messages, vol. 1, 204-205]. E.G. White, Review and Herald, July 18, 1907, pr. 2.

God has given the above warning to the SDA Church. The two distinct parties formed from one that was once united. The "once united" party was Adventism in its Philadelphia era, circa 1844-1852. The Philadelphia was formed into two parties: the Adventist Laodicean Church--later turned cold omega apostate, and the faithful escaped (separated) Remnant. Every professing SDA will belong to one of these parties , and you have to get out of the Church to belong to the Remnant. The Remnant will not organize another church, because the final church is taken to the wilderness by God, and is never formally organized:

"And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out. And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face. Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord God. And I will cause you to pas under the rod [God's law], and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant [the law]. And I will purge out from among you the rebels [apostates, open sinners], and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the Lord...I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen." Ezekiel 20:34-35, 41.

"I saw that God has Honest children among the nominal Adventists and the fallen churches, and BEFORE the plagues shall be poured out, ministers and people will be called OUT from these churches and will gladly received the truth. Satan knows this; and before the Loud Cry of the Third Angel is given, he raises an excitement in these religious bodies, that those who have rejected the Truth may THINK that God is with them. ....But the light will shine , and all who are honest will LEAVE the fallen churches , and take there stand with the "REMNANT!" EW 261 "ARE WE HOPING TO SEE THE WHOLE CHURCH REVIVED? THAT TIME WILL NEVER COME." E.G. White, Review and Herald, March 23, 1887.

"I saw the nominal church and nominal Adventists, like Judas, would betray us to the Catholics to obtain their influence to come against the truth. The saints then will be an obscure people, little known to the Catholics; but the churches and nominal Adventists who know of our faith and customs (for they hated us on account of the Sabbath, for they could not refute it) will betray the saints and report them to the Catholics as those who disregard the institutions of the people; that is, that they keep the Sabbath and disregard Sunday." E.G. White, Spalding--Magan Unpublished Testimonies, p. 1.

The above statement presents an extremely important reason for leaving the precincts of the New Movement SDA Church before the National Sunday Law, for by leaving, the saints become "an obscure people, little known to the Catholics..." and "...the nominal Adventists..." who would betray them. This would also include Jesuit infiltrators of the SDA Church! Remember, Jesus Himself was "gathering out" of the apostate Jewish church, those who would take the gospel to the world, from at least AD 27, 40 years before the surrounding of Jerusalem by the Roman legions, in AD 66, and three and one-half years before the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70, which Ellen White parallels with the time of the National Sunday Law, as follows:

"As the siege of Jerusalem by the Roman armies (in the autumn of AD 66, SDA Bible Commentary, vol. 5, p. 74) was the signal for flight to the Judean Christians, so the assumption of power on the part of our nation in the decree enforcing the papal sabbath will be a warning to us. It will then be time to leave the large cities, preparatory to leaving the smaller ones for retired homes in secluded places among the mountains." E.G. White, Testimonies, vol. 5, 464-5.

Many SDAs believe that they should not leave the apostate SDA church until the National Sunday Law ensues, but that is not according to Jesus' example. He left and "gathered out" of the apostate Jewish church (Desire of Ages 232), 40 years before the parallel to the National Sunday Law, and 43 years before the Temple and Jerusalem were destroyed by the Romans.

It is interesting to note that one of Early Writings, ( p. 299), definitions of "nominal Adventists" is: "...those who reject present truth."
It is also interesting to note that on at least one SDA Internet chat group, the moderator and the members of the group are more kind and tolerant of a past SDA who has apostatized to the Catholic Church, than they are to SDA reformers! A warning to the wise: BEWARE! We have been instructed that we should become OBSCURE to Catholics and nominal Adventists. A word to the wise will be sufficient.
THE ISSUE OF THE NAME quotes

2) "Ye shall know them by their fruits....every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.  A good tree cannot being forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.  Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." Your Name Will Not Save You
By John Grosboll

Are you concerned about your personal salvation? Where will your personal destiny be? Jesus said that if we deny Him before men then He will deny us in heaven; but if we confess Him before men then He will confess us in heaven. (See Matthew 10.) Sometimes this confession has a big price but, salvation is either worth everything or it is not worth anything.

Standing Firm

"Even life itself should not be purchased with the price of falsehood. By a word or a nod the martyrs might have denied the truth and saved their lives. By consenting to cast a single grain of incense upon the idol altar they might have been saved from the rack, the scaffold, or the cross. But they refused to be false in word or deed, though life was the boon they would receive by so doing. Imprisonment, torture, and death, with a clear conscience, were welcomed by them, rather than deliverance on condition of deception, falsehood, and apostasy. By fidelity and faith in Christ they earned spotless robes and jeweled crowns. Their lives were ennobled and elevated in the sight of God because they stood firmly for the truth under the most aggravated circumstances." Testimonies, vol. 4, 336.

While we are never to deny the truth, we must not put our trust in anything external such as profession of faith or being a professed Christian. We will let the Prophet speak for us. The following statements bear this out. (Emphasis is supplied)

"We are not saved as a sect; no denominational name has any virtue to bring us into favor with God. We are saved individually as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. And ‘by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.’ We may have our names recorded on the books of the most spiritual of the churches, and yet we may not belong to Christ, and our names may not be written on the Lamb’s Book of Life. Christ said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.’ If we could reach heaven through our own merits and efforts, then Christ need not have come to the world, to endure suffering, reproach, and shame, to be subjected to humiliation, mockery, insult, and death. He made an infinite sacrifice, because it was the only way whereby man could be saved. Those who believe in Christ will reveal it in their life and character. By beholding Christ they will be changed into His image, and Christ will be represented to the world by His followers. If we are branches of the True Vine, precious clusters of rich fruit will appear in the life as the natural result. Practical faith in Christ will result in the doing of His words; the believer in Jesus will work the works of God. ‘We are laborers together with God.’ ‘Without Me,’ says Christ, ‘ye can do nothing.’ In and through the grace of Christ we can do all things." Review and Herald, February 10, 1891.

Profession Does Not Save

The question in the judgment will not be primarily the name, because in this world many of God’s followers have been stigmatized as children of the devil. The question will not be the name, but the fruit of the life.

"’And now also,’ said the prophet, ‘the ax is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.’ Not by its name, but by its fruit, is the value of a tree determined. If the fruit is worthless, the name cannot save the tree from destruction. John declared to the Jews that their standing before God was to be decided by their character and life. Profession was worthless. If their life and character were not in harmony with God’s law, they were not His people." Desire of Ages, 107.

"It is not profession, pharisaism, that God values, but moral worth. A Christian character unspotted by avarice, and possessing the grace of humility, is more precious in the sight of God than fine gold, even than the golden wedge of Ophir. Lazarus, though in so mean a condition, possessed true worth, and God regarded him of such value that He lifted him from his despised and suffering condition to exaltation and honor, while the wealthy, ease-loving man, who was devoid of the grace of Christ, was plunged into misery and woe unutterable. All the wealth of the rich man was unable to draw upon him the favor of God; for his character was worthless. And so Christ desires His followers to estimate character. They are not, like the Pharisees, to value men by their worldly possessions; for a man may possess both riches and worldly honor, and yet be worthless in the sight of God. The poor man, despised by his fellows, and loathsome to the sight, was of value with God because he possessed moral soundness; and these elements fitted him for the society of the holy angels, to be an heir of God and joint heir with Christ." Review and Herald, December 19, 1899.

"Those who follow in the light need have no anxiety lest that in the outpouring of the latter rain they will not be baptized with the Holy Spirit. If we would receive the light of the glorious angel that shall lighten the earth with his glory, let us see to it that our hearts are cleansed, emptied of self, and turned toward heaven, that they may be ready for the latter rain. Let us be obtaining a fitting up to join in the proclamation of the angel who shall lighten the earth with his glory. Let us be co-laborers with Christ. Now is the time for us to let self die, to crucify the flesh, with the affections and lusts, to deny the cravings of appetite and passion. The minds of many are channels for impure thoughts. They do not have a realizing sense of the offensive character of sin. I call upon you to clear the King’s highway. Weighty responsibilities are resting upon you; for you are to represent the character of your Lord to the world. Faith without works is dead. There must be corresponding works, or the faith is worthless, a mere pretension, an empty profession. You are to manifest your faith by a life of integrity, making it evident that Christ is abiding in the heart, and that you are able to show forth what is the hope of His calling." Signs of the Times, August 1, 1892.

"Your profession of Christianity is true if you follow Christ; worthless if you do not follow Him." Manuscript Releases, vol. 16,49.

The Name that Will Save

"The name of Jesus is all powerful. It is accepted of the Father, always. No other name will He honor. It is through faith in His name that we are saved. We are complete in Him. Jesus will not sanction sectarianism or a legal religion, which is so prevalent even among those who claim to believe present truth. Christ and His righteousness is our only hope. Christ is our only hope, and He is everything to us. Self must die. Jesus must be to us all and in all. Let self be put out of sight. Let Jesus abide in our hearts by faith, and we will be strong in His strength." 1888 Materials, 453.

Sectarianism is the idea that a person must belong to a certain religious organization or sect to be saved. It is forbidden and not allowed by Christ. (See Mark 9:38-41.)

"Only through faith in Christ’s name can the sinner be saved....Faith in Christ is not the work of nature, but the work of God on human minds, wrought in the very soul by the Holy Spirit, who reveals Christ, as Christ revealed the Father. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. With its justifying, sanctifying power, it is above what men call science. It is the science of eternal realities. Human science is often deceptive and misleading, but this heavenly science never misleads. It is so simple that a child may understand it, and yet the most learned men cannot explain it. It is unexplainable and immeasurable, beyond all human expression." In His Presence, 51.

"Families must be divided, in order that all who call upon the name of the Lord may be saved. All who refuse His infinite love, will find Christianity a sword, a disturber of their peace. The light of Christ will cut away the darkness that covers their evil doings; and their corruption, their fraud, their cruelty will be exposed. Christianity unmasks the hypocrisies of Satan, and it is this unmasking of his designs that stirs his bitter hatred against Christ and His followers." Bible Echo and Signs of the Times, March 26, 1894;Review and Herald, July 24, 1894.

"The test of discipleship is not brought to bear as closely as it should be upon those who present themselves for baptism. It should be understood whether those who profess to be converted are simply taking the name of Seventh-day Adventist, or whether they are taking their stand on the Lord’s side, to come out of the world and be separate and touch not the unclean thing. When they give evidence that they fully understand their position, they are to be accepted. But when they show that they are following the customs and fashions and sentiments of the world, they are to be faithfully dealt with. If they feel no burden to change their course of action, they should not be accepted as members of the church. The Lord wants those who compose His church to be true, faithful stewards of the grace of Christ." Manuscript Releases, vol. 5, 329.

Our Banner, Which We are Not to Cast Down

"God has placed in our hands a banner on which is inscribed the words ‘The commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.’ ‘Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ,’ he declares. At all times and in all places we are to hold the banner firmly aloft. God’s denominated people are to take a firm stand under the banner of truth." Manuscript Releases, vol. 4, 246.

"As the fourth commandment and those who observe it are ignored and despised, the faithful feel that it is the time not to hide their faith but to exalt the law of Jehovah by unfurling the banner on which is inscribedthe message of the Third Angel, the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.Maranatha, 239.

"Our work now is to enlighten the world, in the place of bearing a peace-and-safety message. A bannerhas been placed in our hands, upon which is inscribed, ‘Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.’ This is a distinct, separating message—a message that is to give no uncertain sound. It is to lead the people away from the broken cisterns that contain no water, to the fountain of living waters." Letter 60, 1898. Counsels to Writers and Editors, 102, 103.

"Stand firmly for God’s truth. Exalt before the people the banner bearing the inscription, ‘Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus’ (Rev. 14:12)" Selected Messages, vol. 2, 226.

"This distinctive banner, described in the words, ‘Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus,’ is to be borne through the world to the close of probation." Testimonies, vol. 6, 144.

"Let the world go into spiritualism, into theosophy, into pantheism, if they choose. We are to have nothing to do with this deceptive branch of Satan’s work. The pleasing sentiments of pantheism will lead many souls into forbidden paths. God forbids His servants to leave their fields of labor to enter into a discussion of these sentiments. The last testimony published, opens to our people the danger of these theories, and the testimonies published in the future will urge still more strongly the necessity of lifting up and carrying high the banner on which are inscribed the words, ‘The commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.’ God’s people are to let no one take this banner from their hands. I am instructed that false theories will be presented, and that some in the medical missionary work, who have been wavering, will yield up the faith, and give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils." Special Testimonies, Series B.

Magnify the Law

"The Third Angel’s Message, embracing the messages of the First and Second Angels, is the message for this time. We are to raise aloft the banner on which is inscribed, ‘The commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.’ The world is soon to meet the great Lawgiver over His broken law. This is not the time to put out of sight the great issues before us. God calls upon His people to magnify the law and make it honorable." Counsels on Health, 357.

"The passing of the time in 1844 was a period of great events, opening to our astonished eyes the cleansing of the sanctuary transpiring in heaven, and having decided relation to God’s people upon the earth, [also] the First and Second Angels’ Messages and the Third, unfurling the banner on which was inscribed, ‘The commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.’ One of the landmarks under this message was the temple of God, seen by His truth-loving people in heaven, and the ark containing the law of God. The light of the Sabbath of the fourth commandment flashed its strong rays in the pathway of the transgressors of God’s law. The non-immortality of the wicked is an old landmark. I can call to mind nothing more that can come under the head of the old landmarks. All this cry about changing the old landmarks is all imaginary." Counsels to Writers and Editors, 30, 31.

"I call upon my brethren who are appointed to educate, to change their course of action. It is a mistake for you to link your interests with any political party, to cast your vote with them or for them. Those who stand as educators, as ministers, as laborers together with God in any line, have no battles to fight in the political world. Their citizenship is in heaven. The Lord calls upon them to stand as separate and peculiar people. He would have no schisms in the body of believers. His people are to possess the elements of reconciliation. Is it their work to make enemies in the political world? No, no. They are to stand as subjects of Christ’s kingdom, bearing the banner on which is inscribed, ‘The commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.’ They are to carry the burden of a special work, a special message. We have a personal responsibility, and this is to be revealed before the heavenly universe, before angels, and before men. God does not call upon us to enlarge our influence by mingling with society, by linking up with men on political questions, but by standing as individual parts of His great whole, with Christ as our head. Christ is our Prince, and as His subjects we are to do the work appointed us by God." Fundamentals of Christian Education, 478, 479.

"Pretenders will arise with theories that have no foundation in the word of God. We are to hold aloft the banner bearing the inscription, ‘The commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.’ We are to hold the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end. Let no one attempt to dilute truth with a mixture of sophistry. Let no one attempt to tear down the foundation of our faith, or to spoil the pattern by bringing into the web threads of human devising. Not one thread of pantheism is to be drawn into the web. Sensuality, ruinous to soul and body, is always the result of drawing these threads into the web." Letter 249, 1903. Medical Ministry, 97, 98.

Bear God’s Sign Before the World

"Every medical institution established by Seventh-day Adventists is to bear God’s sign before the world prominently, without disguising the facts in any way. We are to voice the message of the Third Angel flying in the midst of heaven with the everlasting gospel to proclaim to the world. We are to bear aloft the banneron which is inscribed, ‘The Commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.’" Medical Ministry, 164.

"In the name of God lift your banner for truth and righteousness—‘the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.’" My Life Today, 315.

"In the name of the Lord we are to go forward, unfurling His banner, advocating His word. When the authorities command us not to do this work, when they forbid us to proclaim the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, then it will be necessary for us to say as did the apostles: ‘Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.’ Acts 4:19, 20." Testimonies, vol. 6, 395.

"Christ is our example. The determination of antichrist to carry out the rebellion he began in heaven will continue to work in the children of disobedience. Their envy and hatred against those who obey the fourth commandment will wax more and more bitter. But the people of God are not to hide their banner. They are not to ignore the commandments of God and, in order to have an easy time, go with the multitude to do evil." Testimonies, vol. 9, 230.

"We are to raise the banner on which is inscribed, ‘The commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.’This is the great issue. Let it not be put out of sight. We must strive to arouse church members and those who make no profession, to see and obey the claims of the law of heaven. We are to magnify this law and make it honorable. We are to arouse those who are sunk in spiritual slumber." Letter 138, December 12, 1910. This Day with God, 355.

"I am sure Satan with his hellish agencies, is striving his best to dishearten and discourage; but we must not be discouraged, neither must we fail. We must suffer loss and be spoken against; and have false witness borne against us, and take it patiently for Christ’s sake. One thing is sure, God is true. We may lean heavily upon Him, and we shall not become confused amid the babble of voices. We must put the armor on, and keep it on. Then what? Fight manfully the battles of the Lord, and having done all, stand ready for another conflict. We must keep in harmony, taking the whole armor of God. We must have increased faith and move forward, carrying this banner of truth—the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. We must not think that we are the generals, but that we are under the mighty General of armies. Oh, let us pray as never before. Let us believe with heart and soul the words of John, ‘Behold, the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world.’ It is a poor time, when in the fierce conflict, to show one particle of cowardice. We have a General who never lost a battle. Have faith in God and we shall gain the victory." Bible Training School, March 1, 1909.

"This is the work now to be done on earth. Those who are living in transgression of the holy law of God will not find the truth palatable. When it is made plain that Sunday is a spurious Sabbath, founded in the power of the man of sin, they will say in language too plain to be misunderstood, ‘We want not a knowledge of thy ways, O Lord.’ Others will say as did Pharaoh, ‘Who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice?’ But in the face of all opposition we must hold aloft the banner of the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. It takes both of these to make up the burden of the message to be given to the world." Review and Herald, February 7, 1893.

"Those who make light of the Third Angel’s Message do so because they know little of Daniel or the Revelation. They have not read these prophecies with a determination to find out the meaning by prayer, by study, and by fasting. If they had the experience of Daniel or of John, they would know that the Third Angel’s Message will go forth unto perfect victory. Those who proclaim that message because they see and believe it, will understand that very much is comprehended by it. The Third Angel is represented as flying through the heavens with a banner on which is inscribed, ‘The commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.’ All who will gather warmth from the coldness of others, courage from their defections, and loyalty from their treason, will triumph with the Third Angel’s Message." Review and Herald, June 8, 1897.

A Chosen Generation

"’Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him Who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.’ The time when God is especially dishonored by those who make void His law is the time when every loyal subject should unfurl the banner inscribed ‘The commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.’ Signs of the Times, June 12, 1893.

"But though the attitude of the churches is discouraging, yet there is no need of being disheartened; for God has a people who will preserve their fidelity to His truth, who will make the Bible, and the Bible alone, their rule of faith and doctrine; who will elevate the standard, and hold aloft the banner on which is inscribed, ‘The commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.’ They will value a pure gospel, and make the Bible the foundation of their faith and doctrine." Signs of the Times, February 19, 1894.

"Pray on, church of God, pray on; for the General of the heavenly army, with angels that excel in strength, is with His people on the field of battle. In the hour of peril, be steadfast. The adversary of souls is determined to oppose all who plant their feet on the platform of eternal truth, who would uplift the banneron which is inscribed, ‘The commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.’ They are the objects of Satan’s deadly hatred. But rest assured that Christ fights with His army. He Himself leads His followers, and He will renew the strength of every faithful soldier." Signs of the Times, September 15, 1898.

"Who will now understand these things that I write? There are men who have known the truth, who have feasted upon the truth, who are now divided between infidel sentiments. There is only a step between them and the precipice of eternal ruin. The Lord is coming; but those who venture to resist the light that God gave in rich measure at Minneapolis, who have not humbled their hearts before God, will follow on in the path of resistance, saying, ‘Who is the Lord that I should obey His voice?’ The banner all will bear who voice the message of the Third Angel, is being covered with another color that virtually kills it. This is being done. Will our people now hold fast to the truth? ‘Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.’ This is our standard. Hold it aloft; for it is truth."Special Testimony, Series A, 26.

Banner to be Borne until the Close of Probation

"A company was presented before me under the name of Seventh-day Adventists, who were advising that the banner or sign which makes us a distinctive people should not be held out so strikingly; for they claimed it was not the best policy in securing success to our institutions. This distinctive banner is to be borne through the world to the close of probation. In describing the remnant people of God, John says, ‘Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.’ [Revelation 14:12.] This is the law and the gospel. The world and the churches are uniting in harmony in transgressing the law of God, in tearing away God’s memorial, and in exalting a sabbath that bears the signature of the man of sin. But the Sabbath of the Lord thy God is to be a sign to show the difference between the obedient and the disobedient. I saw some reaching out their hands to remove the banner, and to obscure its significance." Manuscript Releases, vol. 13, 69.

"While we inscribe on our banner the words, ‘The commandments of God and the faith of Jesus,’ we must not forget to cleanse the heart, that it may be a fit dwellingplace for the Holy Spirit. By your words and your works, show that you love God supremely and your neighbor as yourself. The members of Christ’s flock are the objects of His constant favor. In holy love to their Saviour and to one another, they are to be hid with Christ in God. Discord and strife testify that the union with Christ is imperfect. God desires us to be bound heart to heart by His Spirit. He will save those who are imbued with His grace, for in dealing with one another they reveal His love and tenderness. They deal generously with one another." Ibid., 223.

"Your voice is working against the success and triumph of the truth in these last days. Our God has a message for His people represented by an angel flying through heaven proclaiming the last message to a fallen world. What is the angel proclaiming? The commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. This represents that God’s messengers are to hold this banner high, and with no feeble voice proclaim to a perishing world the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus." Manuscript Releases, vol. 4, 432.

"To every soul will come the searching test, Shall I obey God rather than men? The decisive hour is even now at hand. Satan is putting forth his utmost efforts in the rage of a last despairing struggle against Christ and His followers. False teachers are employing every device possible to stimulate the hardened sinner in his rebellious daring, to confirm the questioning, the doubting, the unbelieving, and, by misrepresentation and falsehood, to deceive, if it were possible, the very elect. Who are prepared to stand firmly under the banner on which is inscribed, ‘The commandments of God and the faith of Jesus’? Signs of the Times, November 8, 1899.

"At last the victory was gained. The army following the banner with the inscription, ‘The commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus,’ was gloriously triumphant. Testimonies, vol. 8, 41.

Christ’s followers must be found spending their time, effort, and money on spreading the Three Angels’ Messages, not in the courts of the land fighting for a name of a church which they have chosen to separate from. Brethren, let us be about our work for God in spreading His truth, and not be sidetracked by Satan into spending our time, effort, and money in trying to cling to an idol. (the NAME) There is no valid Biblical reason why God would desire any of His separated people to defend their right and waste precious time and money to call themselves "Seventh-day Adventist." I would like  ask those that believe it is time to leave the SDA church, and at the same time feel we must "keep the name"Seventh-day Adventist to respond to the following Scripture and SOP facts.

  • "I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts...And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord God shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name." Isaiah 65:2, 15

"God calls upon this church to make a change. They had a name to live, but their works were destitute of the love of Jesus. Oh, how many have fallen because they trusted in their profession for salvation! How many are lost by their effort to keep up a name! If one has the reputation of being a successful evangelist, a gifted preacher, a man of prayer, a man of faith, a man of special devotion, there is positive danger that he will make shipwreck of faith when tried by the little tests that God suffers to come. Often his great effort will be to maintain his reputation." -7BC: p. 958

"Not by its name, but by its fruit, is the value of a tree determined. If the fruit is worthless, the name cannot save the tree from destruction." DA p.107

"We are not saved as a sectno denominational name has any virtue to bring us into favor with God. We are saved individually as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ."  -RH 02/10/1891

Truth is, Scripture does address such a problem as this. If you feel you must claim the SDA name think about what you're really doing. Are you climing the name simply because you want the NAME? Or is it because you embrace the SDA theology of old? Prayerfully the latter is your reason. Now see this...

  • Romans 2:29, "But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God."

I too embrace original SDA theology as truth and as I look into my heart I see that I am an "SDA" inwardly as the Christian is of Israel inwardly. But because of that which Rome has openly done to this church, I must stand with truth and proclaim I am a Seventh-day Remnant outwardly.

"A virtuous woman represents a pure church, a vile woman an apostate church. Babylon is said to be a harlot;" 4sp p.232

The fruits of the SDA church speak volumes unto it being BABYLON.

Who can truthfully say: "Our gold is tried in the fire; our garments are unspotted by the world"? I saw our Instructor pointing to the garments of so-called righteousness. Stripping them off, He laid bare the defilement beneath. Then He said to me: "Can you not see how they have pretentiously covered up their defilement and rottenness of character? 'How is the faithful city become an harlot! My Father's house is made a house of merchandise, a place whence the divine presence and glory have departed! For this cause there is weakness, and strength is lacking." 8T 250.2

 QUESTION:

As a Seventh-day Adventist, do you evangelize Catholics? Difficult isn't it? I know it is, I have been doing it over 21 years now. They insist on staying in the church even though they have documented evidence that proves they are in apostasy They admit they know their leaders are in sin and open apostasy, yet they stay in that church. Do you share these verses with the Catholic the Lord has placed in your path?

  •  Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
  • 2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
  • 2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
  • Revelation 18:1-5, "And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.  And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.  For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.  And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.  For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities."

If you evangelize Catholics you already realize they have a mindset that is strange. They know their leaders are in sin, yet they allow them to lead them no matter what. So my question to you dear Seventh-day Adventist is...

Why do YOU stay in the Seventh-day Adventist church?

This is what was on my mind when  I  woke up at 3:09 this morning 4/4/2012. I had to get up to write this down!: The Exodus from Churches correlates to the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. The plague of frogs correlates to the 3 unclean Spirits sent forth by Satan of the Trinity and is duplicated by all the churches, like the magicians duplicated the plague of frogs, so all churches have duplicated the false doctrines of Paganism. The trinity is adopted by all churches today. Rev 18:4 says Come of HER/Egypt/ALL CHURCHES so that we are not partakers of her plagues. The Ten Commandments are to be placed upon the door posts of our minds to save us, like the lambs blood on the door posts in Egypt. We are the firstborn of God, like the firstborn of Egypt were saved by the blood on the doorposts.  We are to CLEANSE the CAMP. Preparing for Jesus to come. Getting rid of sin in the camp. Striving to be like Jesus. Preparing for the great time of trouble that GOD will keep His people safe through. God has sent the message of Manna through Ellen White, leave out all the flesh pots of Egypt. Stop clamoring for meat. Eating dead carcasses  of animals is not safe and is not fit as food for the table of God's people today. Eat God's manna of fruiits, nuts, grains, vegetables prepared as simply as possible, as near to their natural state as able. We are to have home churches and home schools, cooking schools where ever we are.

To invite people out of the worldly churches to a wedding feast. Prepare a wedding table feast of fruits, nuts, grains, healthy whole wheat breads, and vegetables. Have vegetables there to juice for the people that you invite to your feast prepared whereever you can have people come from the highways and byways. Put a ad in local papers inviting people to come to a sample wedding feast prepared especially to show them how to put on the wedding garment that only Jesus can give them. Righteousness by faith! Striving to conform to the image of Christ. Putting on the eyesalve which means studying the Bible the Word of God which is ALIVE and can save us if we only look to Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God, our Daddy who loves us and is reconciling us to Himself through His Son sent to die for our sins to save us. God hates sin, but LOVES the sinner and is not willing that ANY should perish!

Come to the wedding feast put on by the wise virgins in their own locality who are getting the oil or Holy Spirit in their lamps by studying, sharing the light of their own lamps by striving to be like Jesus. We must get EVERYTHING out of our lives that would take our minds off of Jesus, even for a second. TV, games, worthless chatter and joking around, meat eating, anything that is related to meat products, butter, cow milk, cheese, remove all pagan Egyptian  things from our lives, that teaches us false doctrines or causes us to worship idols. Anything that takes the mind off of Jesus is a idol, including church denomination or demonations. Cleanse the camp, cleanse the people of God! All churches today are FILLED with false doctrines or unclean spirits sent by Satan to deceive us beginning with the 3 unclean spirits of the trinity. The three unclean spirits are the trinity of gods sent to intercept the three angels message. OUR TASK is to help the three angels send their messages, which are:

1st Angel: Worship God ONLY for the hour of His judgement is come.
2nd Angel: Come out of ALL churches, My people, so that you are not partakers of her plagues.
3rd Angel: Obey ALL of God's Ten Commandments.

We are to be baptized INTO CHRIST JESUS. Follow Acts 2 from here on out. The Bible, Writings of Ellen White point to the Bible and Jesus, helping us to understand the Bible more clearly. Wash your robes means to strive to be like Jesus. Believe that He is helping you. Come to Jesus just as you are! Cast yourself upon Him and BELIEVE that He can keep you from falling/sinning and present you FAULTLESS before the throne of His/our Father and GOD!  "And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all." 1 Corinthians 15:28 (KJV)

The Omega of Apostasy, Separation, and an Eighth Church

Most professing Seventh-day Adventists are disposed to believing that if any group of true Seventh-day Adventists should split away from the SDA church, that this would constitute an eighth church and on and on etc. This is a most ludicrous belief and could not be farther from the truth. The seven churches of Revelation 2 and 3 represent seven different eras of the church and not seven different literal and singular churches respective of those seven different eras.

Sardis had Many Churches From Which Members Came out of to Form the Philadelphian Church

Consider the myriad number of churches comprising the Sardis era of the church circa 1844! Which one was Sardis? The truth of the matter was that all of them were Sardis. Did Ellen White say as much? Indeed:

"The names of the seven churches are symbolic of the church in different periods of the Christian Era. The number indicates completeness, and is symbolic of the fact that the messages [plural] extend to the end of time, while the symbols used reveal the condition of the church [collectively and generally] at different periods in the history of the world." E.G. White, The Acts of the Apostles,585.

Ellen White Said we Are Not Saved as a Sect or a Denomination

"We are not saved as a sect; no denominational name has any virtue to bring us into favor with God. We are saved individually as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. "And 'by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.' We may have our names recorded on th4e books of the most spiritual of the churches, and yet we may not belong to Christ, and our names may not be written on the Lamb's book of life." E.G. White, Review and Herald, vol. 2, 464.

If we are not saved as a sect and/or denominaiton, but as individuals, what significance would there be to any of the organized churches except to facilitate the gospel of truth to the world?
The above statement says that the number seven indicates completeness. We find that number as applied to seven women or seven churches in Isaiah 4:1-4. The correct interpretation of this passage is that the term seven women refers to all formally organzed churches at the end-time. Isaiah, chapters 1 thru four, are end-time in context. At the end-time, all formally organized churches will be doing their own thing; "eating their own bread," thank you!; their own doctrines, commandments, traditions, personal opinions etc., as opposed to the commandments of God. The "wearing of their own apparel," refers to their own code of what constitutes righteousness; their own robes of self-righteousness, instead of obedience to the commands of God. For example, they believe the Doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which God especially hates. That doctrine teaches that once has to only believe; only give lip service and prove nothing by works of faith. It teaches dead faith that is without works which prove valid faith. Works do not save, but as Ellen White said, works prove who is in a saved condition. Works of righteousness (obedience) are a self test to know whether or not we love God and the brethren, 1 John 5:2-5.

Ellen White Says That God Will Continue to Work on the Principle of Taking His Kingdom, His Church Away From Any People if they are Unfaithful to the Work of the Lord

"The Lord Jesus will always have a chosen people to serve Him. When the Jewish people rejected Chist, the Prince of life. He took from them the kingdom of God and gave it unto the Gentiles. God will continue to work on this principle with every branch of His work. When a church proves unfaithful to the work of the Lord, whatever their position may be, however high and sacred their calling, the Lord can no longer work with them. Others are then chosen to bear important responsibilities. But, if these in turn do not purify their lives from every wrong action, if they do not establish pure and holy principles in all their borders, then the Lord will grievously afflict and humble them and, unless they repent, will remove them from their place and make them a reproach.
God is not 'worshipped with men's hands, as tough he needed any thing' (Acts 17:25). E. G. White, The Upward Look, 131.

It is evident from the above statement that the professing SDA church could cease to be used of God, and be superceded by another group of separated faithful folk, without constituting an eighth church! God would not and could not "continue to work on the principle," if any potentiality along that line would constitute a church that should not exist according to Scripture! The same connotation is elicited by the following statements:

"We must as a people arouse and cleanse the camp of Israel. Licentiousness, unlawful intimacy, and unholy practices are coming in among us in a large degree...We are in danger of becoming a sister to fallen Babylon, of allowing our churches to become corrupted and filled with every foul spirit, a cage for every unclean and hateful bird, and will we be clear unless we make decided movements to cure the existing evil? E. G. White, Manuscript Releases No. 449, pp. 17, 18.

"If we turn from the testimony of God's word, and accept false doctrines [Calvinism] because our fathers taught them, we fall under the condemnation pronounced upon Babylon; we are drinking of the wine of her abominations." E. G White, The 1884 Great Controversy entitledSpirit of Prophecy, Vol. 4, 347, not to be confused with Testimonies,Vol. 4. "The Bible Prophets Wrote for Our Time.--Never are we absent from the mind of God. God is our joy and our salvation. Each of the ancient prophets spoke less for their own tme than fo ours, so that their prophesying is in force for us. 'Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come' (! Cor. 10:11). 'Not unto themselves, but unto us they didminister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels dessire to look into' (1 Peter 1:12).'" E.G. White, Selected Messages, vol. 3, p. 338.

All Bible commentarians agree that Isaiah chapters 1-4 are end-time in context. Years ago, I prayed literally in my closet to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, for a proper understanding of Isaiah 4:1-4, with special emphasis on verse 1, as follows:

"And in that day SEVEN WOMEN shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach." Isa. 4:1.

I remained on my knees in my closet until I received an answer, and the answer I received was as follows:

1. "In that day" refers to the end-time.
2. "Seven Women" is indicative first of God's perfect all-inclusive number seven, which refers directly to all formally organized churches at the end of time.
3. "Women" is a term applied to the church many times in Scripture. So in taking the admonition of "a little here and a little there..." line upon line and precept upon precept...," along with the weight of evidence formula which directs us to interpret ALL THE EVIDENCE so than nothing contradicts, the Lord showed me the correct interpretation of women, as meaning "all formally organized churches."
4. The one man the churches take hold of is Jesus Christ. They want to be called by his name, "Christian" to take away their reproach.
5. What is their reproach? They are all eating their own bread, their own interpretation of doctrines and commandments of men, in lieu of God's clear directives in such areas. They are all "wearing their own apparel..." or their own garments of self-righteousness based on keeping some of the commandments and some of the doctrines, while omitting the weightier of these matters.
6. Conclusion: For these reasons, there will be a calling out of all formally organized churches. No denominational name has any power to bring us into favor with God. We are saved as individuals before Christ Jesus:

"We are not saved as a sect (eg. Catholic or SDA); no denominational name has ANY VIRTUE to bring us into favor with God. We are saved individually as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ." E.G. White, Review and Herald, Vol. 2, p. 464.

"God has a church. It is not the great cathedral, neither is it the national establishment, neither is it the various denominations; it is the people of God who love God and keep His commandments. 'Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them' (Matt. 18:20). Where Christ is even among the humble few, this is Christ's church, for the presence of the High and Holy One who in inhabititeth eternity can alone constitute a church. Where two or three are present who love and obey the commandments of God, Jesus there presides, let it be in the desolate place of the earth, in the wilderness, in the city enclosed in prison walls." E.G. White, The Upward Look, 315.

The express purpose for church organization was to forward the gospel commission. To whatever degree a church betrays that commission, it renders its organization as worthless! God can then take 1 to put 10,000 to flight! He then takes the reins into His own hands, and who can say that the people he personally leads are not "organized?" Who dares to say such? I do not! God used 12 disciples and the seventy to take the gospel to the then known world, and He can take a literal 144,000 Generals, and lead His army of Joel 2, to victory. He can raise people from their graves at the end-time to take the gospel to the world, as He did at the time of His resurrection. For any denomination or organized church to assume or presume that God needs them, is the heighth of utopian self-righteousness and folly! The Catholic and SDA churches have made that great mistake, as to all formally organized churches.

"The Lord Jesus will always have a chosen people to serve Him. When the Jewish people rejected Christ, the Prince of life. But, if these in turn do not purify their lives from every wrong action, if they do not establish pure and holy principles in all their borders, then the Lord will grievously afflict and humble them and, unless they repent, will remove them from their place and make them a reproach.God is not 'worshipped with men's hands, as tough he needed any thing' (Acts 17:25). E. G. White, The Upward Look, 131.

The Catholic as well as the SDA church both believe that they are totally indispensable to the finishing of God's work on earth, and both are alike totally wrong!

Additional Corroboration From Clarence Settle

The Issue

ON ISAIAH 4: 3

There are some today, in positions of influence, who are using Isaiah 4:3 as a justification for remaining within the apostate SDA structure rather than separating from it. Is that what that verse is really telling us? Let us look at it. "And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem." Isaiah 4: 3.

It must be admitted that at first look it does seem to support the belief that one must remain in Jerusalem rather than separating, but does it truly state that? Before we examine this verse more closely, let us not forget that God never contradicts Himself, and that it is a principle of good hermeneutics that you never use a difficult text to explain a simple one, but always use the simple one to explain the difficult one.

Let us now look at the previous verse (verse 2) which seems to directly contradict the implied meaning of verse 3. This last day prophecy states: "in that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of lsrael." Isaiah 4:2. A look at the meaning of the word "escaped" in Strong's Concordance (6413) defines it as "escaped portion, remnant" This same word is used in certain other verses such as Ezra 9: 15, Nehemiah 1: 2, and Isaiah 37: 32 which we shall now look at, in fact, we shall look at verses 31 and 32 to get a clearer picture. "And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward: For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the Lord of hosts shall do this." Isaiah 37: 31. 32. These verses (Isaiah 4: 2; 37: 31, 32) are certainly in agreement that a separation from the apostasy is called for and necessary, in these last days, for those who are to be counted among the remnant. So let us go back again to Isaiah 4: 3.

A look at the word "remaineth" in Strong's (3498) defines that word as "a remnant residue." On the other hand let us look at another verse that uses the very same word "remaineth" but which has a totally different meaning. In Jeremiah 38: 2 we read:

"Thus saith the Lord, He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by pestilence..."

In this instance the word "remaineth" means "to dwell, inhabit, to remain, to tarry." (Strong's 3427). So here we see that Isaiah 4: 3 is erroneously being used to mean "dwell. inhabit, remain, tarry" when it does not mean that at all! What it does refer to is the remnant, God's true church who are separated from the apostasy; those who are "written among the living" and not part of the ALL of 5T: 211 ("men, maidens, and little children") who will be slain because they refuse to separate. In addition, the word "left" in "left in,Zion," also refers to "remnant" (Strong's 7604).

This verse (Isaiah 4:3) is used by the SOP in 4 places, GC: 485, PK 592, 5T: 476, and GC: 37. We will look at the latter for it is here where it is best illustrated. But first let us determine the setting in which this verse is used by going to page 26 which reads: "When the idolatrous standards of the Romans should be set up in the holy ground, which extended some furlongs outside the city walls, then the followers of Christ were to find safety in flight. When the warning sign should be seen, then those who would escape must make no delay. . . They must not hesitate a moment, lest they be involved in the general destruction." GC: 26. "Not one Christian perished in the destruction of Jerusalem. Christ had given His disciples warning, and all who believed His words watched for the promised sign... The promised sign had been given to the waiting Christians, and now an opportunity was offered all who would, to obey the Saviour's warning. Events were overruled that neither Jews nor Romans should hinder the flight of the Christians.. .Without delay they fled to a place of safety–the city of Pella, in the land of Perea, beyond Jordan." Ibid.: 30, 31. And finally we read: "The Saviour's prophecy concerning the visitation of judgments upon Jerusalem is to have another fulfillment, of which that terrible desolation was but a faint shadow. In the fate of the chosen city we may behold the doom of a world that has rejected God's mercy and trampled upon His law...But in that day, as in the time of Jerusalem's destruction, God's people will be delivered, everyone that shall be written among the living. Isaiah 4: 3." Ibid.: 7.

The question we must ask is, did those Christians remain in Jerusalem until the last moment, until the Romans began actually destroying the city. No, of course not! History records that they heeded the words of Christ and fled 3 1/2 years before the city was finally attacked. They would have been annihilated with all the other disobedient Jews had they not separated from that apostate SDA structure at that time. They would not have been "written among the living." But looking at another reference where this verse is used, we read: "These are they that stand upon Mount Zion with the Lamb, having the Father's name written in their foreheads. They sing the new song before the throne, that song which no man can learn save the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. `These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the first fruits unto Cod and the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.' Now is reached the complete fulfillment of those words of the Angel; `Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy follows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at for, behold, I will bring forth My servant the Branch.' Christ is revealed as the Redeemer and Deliverer of His people. Now indeed are the remnant `men wondered at,' as the tears and humiliation of their pilgrimage give place to joy and honor in the presence of God and the Lamb. `!n that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shaft be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel. And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even everyone that is written among the living in Jerusalem." 5T: 475-6.

No, God does not contradict Himself. These verses apply to the 144,000 who follow the Lamb. They are virgins, not defiled by association with an apostate harlot church, which, though many continue the forms of religion, is totally bereft of God's presence (5T: 210; 8T: 250). They have separated, not from the faith, but from all sin and apostasy, wherever it may be found. When they witness to their Catholic or Baptist or Pentecostal neighbors, they give the true 3 Angel's message, not the false one that says, come out of your apostasy and into my apostasy; leave your whore and join with my harlot!"

"I saw that God has honest children among the nominal Adventists and the fallen churches, and before the plagues shall be poured out, ministers and people will be called out from these churches and will gladly receive the truth. Satan knows this and before the loud cry of the third angel is given, he raises an excitement in these religious bodies, that those who have rejected the truth may think that God is with them. He hopes to deceive the honest and lead them to think that God is still working for the churches. But the light will shine, and all who are honest will leave the fallen churches, and take their stand with the remnant" Early Writings: 261.

THE BATTLE OVER THE NAME "Seventh-day Adventist"

Part 3: Ownership of the Name

The second major objection to calling ourselves by a different name other than "Seventh-day Adventist" is because many have been taught that the name "Seventh-day Adventist" was not given to an organization or denomination, but was only given to individual believers who must identify themselves by this literal name to the end.

This article was written not to cast down, or to needlessly cause any embarrassment or pain to, anyone who chooses to call themselves "Seventh-day Adventist" and thereby be identified with that church. But to show all those who have completely disconnected themselves from this church that there is no command from God, nor is there any directive from the Spirit of Prophecy, that they must continue to cling to and identify themselves by the name "Seventh-day Adventist".

Do you today, as an individual believer who is connected with the SDA church, have the right to call yourself "Seventh-day Adventist"? Yes. Do you have the right to call yourself "Seventh-day Adventist" even though you have no membership in, or connection to, the SDA church? I see no reason why you cannot do so if you wish yourself to be viewed as being connected with that corrupt church.

But while it is one thing to say you have the freedom to call yourself "Seventh-day Adventist", it is a completely different matter to declare that it is a command of God that you must call yourself "Seventh-day Adventist"--especially if you have no connection or membership in that apostate church! But this is exactly the position many are taking.

When one searches through the Bible or the Spirit of Prophecy for such a statement clearly upholding this belief, not a single inspired reference can be found! As there is no clear inspired backing for this belief, let us turn our attention as to how the name "Seventh-day Adventist" came to be chosen and to whom it was given.

When you examine the history surrounding this name, you will discover that before the year 1860, the Advent people were not generally identified by any one particular name. It was not until there was a need for property and assets to be legally held by a church denomination (instead of having it owned by private individuals of the church), that the issue of a name came to the forefront and discussion ensued. In this way the name "Seventh-day Adventist" was finally chosen to represent a legally recognized and registered Corporation. It not only represented single individuals who believe the Advent truth, but also all who had chosen to join with this church denomination by organizing their home churches under this name.

To help in understanding this more clearly, let's consider the following from J.N. Andrews about this issue of the "Seventh-day Adventist" name, from a perspective of before, during, and after its discussion and adoption:

"As the message advanced, and the number of laborers constantly increased, the Lord in his providence, as we have seen, led us to an effective Bible plan for the sustenance of the ministry. With the increase in numbers came a demand for, and increase in, facilities for printing and publishing the truth, and a corresponding accumulation of property at the Review and Herald Office. That branch of the work started in July, 1849, by Elder James White, printing the first number of a paper, The Present Truth, with money earned mowing grass, had grown until now there were several thousand invested in the business. It became needful for some one to take the responsibility of this in the initiative. As the business had grown under Elder White's judicious management, the plant and good-will of the business was legally his. But he did not wish it so understood. He called it 'the property of the church.' In this position was an illustration of the principle expressed in the text at the head of this chapter, 'All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient.' He desired to place the matter in the hands of the church, but the church was not in a condition to legally hold property. This brought us, as a people, to a point where we again recognized that something was 'wanting.' To make a move by virtue of which the church could receive and lawfully hold its real estate and other property, was a third step in the matter of order.

"In the Review and Herald of Feb. 23, 1860, Elder James White, in an article on this subject said: 'We hope, however, that the time is not far distant when this people will be in that position necessary to be able to get church property insured, hold their meeting-houses in a proper manner, that those persons making wills, and desiring to do so, can appropriate a portion to the publishing department... We call on preachers and leading brethren to give the matter their attention. If any object to our suggestions, will they please write out a plan on which we as a people can act.'

"In the Review of March 8, 1860, under the head of 'Legal Organization,' the writer made the following statement in response to Elder White's request: 'What I understand is necessary to remedy all the defects in this matter, is to organize in such a manner that we can hold church property legally. Then the property could be held in the name of the church.' Money could be borrowed in the same way, and no one individual would have to take a burden upon himself which he ought not to bear...

"From Sept. 28 to Oct. 1, 1860, there was a general meeting of our people from Michigan and adjoining States, held in Battle Creek. At this time there was a full and free discussion, and a careful consideration of the subject of legal organization for the purpose of holding the office of publication and other church property, meeting-houses, etc. As the result of these deliberations it was voted unanimously to legally organize a publishing association, and a committee of five was elected by those assembled, that such a corporation might be formed as soon as practicable.

"As soon as a move should be made to organize, a name would need to be taken for the corporation. This, therefore, led to a consideration of the name by which we should be known. Some were in favor of the name 'Church of God.' This was objected to on the ground that it gave none of distinctive features of our faith, while the name 'Seventh-day Adventist' would not only set forth our faith in the near coming of Christ, but would also show that we are observers of the seventh-day Sabbath. When this matter was put to vote, only one person voted against the name 'Seventh-day Adventist,' and he shortly after decided in favor of it.

"The Seventh-day Adventist Publishing Association was organized May 3, 1861. This was the first of the various legal organizations formed by this people. The formation of such corporation was point number three in establishing, in God's opening providence, the 'order and system' of managing the work of the third angel's message. All can now see the necessity for such corporations, and may wonder that it was not always seen by us. But let none lose the practical lesson contained in this case. While we should most earnestly seek the Lord for divine guidance, we must remember that as he works in us as his instruments, we too have a work to do. We are not to expect him to do what he has left for us to do and what he 'works in us to do.'...

"The summer of 1861 was not only important because of the 'Civil War' in the United States, but many important moves were being considered in connection with the cause of truth. So important were the times that a second general gathering of our people that year was held in October. On the sixth day of the month the Michigan Conference was organized by the election of a chairman, a secretary, and executive committee of three. By vote the conference recommended that the churches organize, adopting the following as a church covenant: 'We, the undersigned, hereby associate ourselves together as a church, taking the name Seventh-day Adventists, covenanting to keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus Christ.' A committee was appointed to prepare an address formulating plans for organizing churches. This address appeared in the Review of Oct. 15, 1861." J.N. Andrews, "The Church, It's Organization, Order and Discipline", p 109-113, 124.

At the end of this study there are several more excerpts from articles dealing with this very issue of the name "Seventh-day Adventist" in the corporate setting.

As was pointed out, before a home church of individual Advent believers could be considered "Seventh-day Adventist" they all had to agree to organize their home church into one body of believers, taking the name "Seventh-day Adventist" as their church name, and adopting a covenant agreement. So the name "Seventh-day Adventist" was chosen to represent the name of a legal organization and State recognized and registered Corporation, as well as to represent the corporate body of believers who had chosen to join themselves in worshiping together as part of this organized denomination. Thus the belief that the name "Seventh-day Adventist" was not given to a organization or denomination is not according to the history surrounding this name. History is clear that this name was not given to represent individual believers outside of the SDA church denomination, but was chosen to represent both the organization as well as the individuals who had united themselves with it.

Ellen White recognized the above history of what had taken place regarding the name "Seventh-day Adventist", and she states in the following testimony:

"As our numbers increased it was evident that without some form of organization there would be great confusion, and the work would not be carried forward successfully. To provide for the support of the ministry, for carrying the work in new fields, for protecting both the churches and the ministry from unworthy members, for holding church property, for the publication of the truth through the press, and for many other objects, organization was indispensable." Testimonies to Ministers, p 26.

Hence the belief that the name "Seventh-day Adventist" was not given to an organization or denomination but only to individual Advent believers, is found not to be backed up by either inspiration or history. It is clear from history that the name was given to an organization, as well as to the people who chose to unite themselves in church capacity with this denomination. It was not given to those individual believers who were outside of the denomination--even if they chose to keep the same Advent faith!

So who is correct in this issue? The extremists over this name, or what history has revealed? Does the name "Seventh-day Adventist" belong only to individual believers, or does it also belong to the organized structure of Adventism, including all its institutions, etc.? Let us allow God to answer this question:

"The banner of the third angel has inscribed upon it, 'The commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.' Our institutions have taken a name [SDA] which sets forth the character of our faith, and of this name we are never to be ashamed. I have been shown that this name means much, and in adopting it we have followed the light given us from heaven. Let us hear what the Lord saith, [Ex. 31:12-13, 17, quoted]." Manuscript Releases, vol 13, p 68.

What did inspiration declare? Inspiration clearly stated that the name "Seventh-day Adventist" does indeed belong to the institutions of the church, and hence to the SDA corporate structure. Thus no one can advocate in truth that the apostate SDA denomination cannot use, or be identified by, the name "Seventh-day Adventist", believing that only the true and faithful believers have the right to use this name.

What many are doing is making the issue of the "Seventh-day Adventist" name into an extreme position which is unfounded by either the Bible or the Spirit of Prophecy! Many have made this name "Seventh-day Adventist" into an idol that they would be willing to go to jail for, or even to die for, believing that they will lose salvation if they give up this name. In doing this they have made this name issue into a test of salvation, when neither God nor the Spirit of Prophecy has ever endorsed it as such! Dear ones, let us get our eyes off from being fixed upon a literal name, and look to the fact that it is character which God is concerned with in regards to our salvation.

"We are not saved as a sect; no denominational name has any virtue to bring us into favor with God. We are saved individually as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ." Review and Herald, February 10, 1891.

All of God's followers are saved individually as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, PERIOD! "No denominational name has any virtue to bring us into favor with God". One of the meanings of virtue is: "the practice of moral duties." So, in other words, if we did, or if we did not, practice or perform the supposed duty of identifying ourselves as "Seventh-day Adventist", IT WOULD NOT MATTER WITH GOD, because "no denominational name"--which would include SDA--"has any virtue" with God in regard to our salvation. Why is this?

"Not by its name, but by its fruit, is the value of a tree determined. If the fruit is worthless, the name cannot save the tree from destruction. John declared to the Jews that their standing before God was to be decided by their character and life. Profession was worthless. If their life and character were not in harmony with God's law, they were not His people." Desire of Ages, p 107.

Our salvation is to be decided solely upon whether our life and character has been in harmony with God's law or not! Thus our salvation is not to be decided upon what literal church name we call, or do not identify, ourselves by! That is why the Remnant of Revelation 12:17 and 14:12 are identified in Scripture by their character. "Here are they"... that are called "Seventh-day Adventist"? NO! But here are they "which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ", "and the faith of Jesus."

To those who have chosen to completely separate themselves from having any connection with the apostate and corrupt SDA church, and who may still believe that it is God's will that they must identify themselves as "Seventh-day Adventist", I urge you to take the Great Controversy, and carefully pay attention to each word of the last 7 chapters. These chapters clearly reveal everything regarding God's people through all the final conflict; through the time of the loud cry, the Sunday law, the death decree and all other events which take place in the closing scenes before Christ comes again. During all this period of time, never once will you find sister White identifying God's true people by the literal name of "Seventh-day Adventist", or by any other literal church name for that matter. But you will find her clearly identifying God's true people by their faith, their actions, and their character. It is our character which identifies ourselves as God's chosen followers, and not by what literal church name we may call ourselves by!

With this in mind, we are "Israelites"; we are "Christians"; we are "Protestants"; we are "Seventh_day Adventists", not because we are commanded today to literally call ourselves by these names, but because we show and manifest the truths connected with these once chosen churches and Movements of the past through our character. We believe in God as our Creator, who established the plan of Redemption and symbolized it through the Sanctuary services; we believe in Jesus Christ as our Messiah and High Priest; we believe in righteousness by faith and that the Catholic church is anti-Christian as well as the whore of Babylon; and we believe in keeping all of God's commandments, following the testimony of Jesus (the Spirit of Prophecy), and exemplifying the faith of Jesus in our lives! Thus it is by our character that we are shown to be true spiritual Israelites, Christians, Protestants, and Seventh-day Adventists, and not because we are commanded to call ourselves by these literal names.

Did you know that Paul was a true Adventist? (see Spirit of Prophecy, vol 3, p 389). Did he ever literally claim that he was a "Seventh-day Adventist"? No, but he lived the life and preached the truth which showed and made him a true Adventist. The same with Enoch (see Signs of the Times, October 12, 1904). He never claimed to be a "Seventh-day Adventist", but his life and teaching proved beyond a doubt that he was a true Adventist. And you could say the same about all of God's true people, including Jesus Christ Himself! They all were true Seventh-day Adventists, even though they never literally identified themselves such but called themselves by a different church name. It is exactly the same with us today! Therefore it should be clear that there is no basis in truth for anyone to believe that all who have completely separated themselves from the fallen SDA church cannot adopt a different church name, such as "Seventh-day Remnant". There is no basis in truth for believing that if they did so they would be disobeying God.

I sincerely hope and earnestly pray that all can understand that the foundational support given for the belief that the name "Seventh-day Adventist" was only given to individual Advent believers and was not given to the SDA corporate denomination is not in agreement with the weight of evidence provided by a "Thus saith the Lord". Nor is it in agreement with history.

As promised before, here are those additional excerpts:

"James faced financial problems as the business agent of the publishing house--a concern that had no more in the way of organization than a publishing committee. Steps had been taken in 1855 to transfer the business from the shoulders of James to the church, but the church was without name or organization and, from a business standpoint, was illusive. This left White to carry full business, financial, and administrative responsibility personally." Ellen G. White Biography: The Early Years, Volume 1, 1827-1862, p 410.

"Cautiously the conference moved into this highly sensitive area. Brother Poole feared that to adopt a general name would hurt them as a people. J. B. Frisbie was opposed to a sectarian name but saw the need for some uniformity of the terms by which the body of Sabbathkeepers would be known. Moses Hull thought that the churches in various places might be known as "the church worshiping on the seventh day in such and such places." James White stated that he did not see how they could get along without some name, and they could not hold property without a name. The law was specific on that point." Ibid, p 422.

"Without church organization... the rather loose-knit church was growing more and more unwieldy. Ministers and laymen who had met in Battle Creek in late September, 1860, in response to an invitation signed by four leading brethren and couched in the form of an announcement, set about to form a legal organization to hold the assets and manage the affairs of the publishing work. Out of the meeting came plans for a publishing association--but it could not organize legally until the legislature of the State of Michigan had formulated laws under which they could incorporate. Organizing the publishing work called for the choice of the name Seventh-day Adventists." Ibid, p 445.

"I (brother Bracket) now move that we adopt a name, as we must have a name if we are to organize so as to hold property legally....

"[M.E. Cornell stated] The commandments of God and the faith of Jesus is a distinguishing feature between us and the other denominations... It looks to me too that the gifts of the church are lost sight of, and are not held in so important a light as they should be, if we give way to so much fear of our becoming Babylon merely by adopting a name. There is confusion in the names already chosen; and if something is not done here, churches will go on choosing different names still. A general name will bring us into unity and not confusion." Review and Herald, October 23, 1860.

"Dear Bro. White: The church here [Green Bush Michigan] met May 22, 1861, and organized. They were unanimous in taking the name, Seventh-day Adventists. The subject of organization seems so plain, and the step so very necessary, that we do not see how any of God's people can have any objection to it whatever. We are few in number, but we feel the necessity of striving to overcome all our besetting sins, and to do our whole duty in the fear of the Lord. We have adopted the plan of systematic benevolence as laid down in the Good Samaritan, No. 5, and it works well. H.L. RICHMOND, Clerk." Ibid, Sept 24, 1861.

"Bro. A. S. Hutchins writes from South Troy, Vt.: "I am truly thankful that we have the light set before us in so clear and consistent a manner as in the Address of the Battle Creek conference. If the caution be used that should be in receiving members to church fellowship, God will be glorified, I doubt not in the least, in our covenanting to keep his commandments and the faith of Jesus. In the cause of our divine Master we are called to labor with men of clean hands and pure hearts. Let us not then be unequally yoked together, but perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

"Some weeks since the Sabbath-keeping brethren in Irasburgh and Charleston met for organization. All present were agreed in associating ourselves together as a church, taking the name of Seventh-day Adventists, covenanting to keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. In this step my mind is greatly relieved, as the church will be freed from some of its clogs, either by humble confessions and hearty repentance from some who have professed to be with us, or by their leaving the church free from their influence. May the Lord help us not to be of those who draw back unto perdition, but of them that believe to the saving of the soul." Ibid, December 24, 1861.

"Resolved, That this conference [Michigan] recommend the following church covenant: We, the undersigned, hereby associate ourselves together as a church, taking the name Seventh-day Adventists, covenanting to keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus Christ. Seconded by Brother Hull. Adopted." Ibid, October 8, 1861.

"At the weekend conference held in Battle Creek in connection with the annual meeting of the Seventh-day Adventist Publishing Association in October, 1861, those who attended hammered out the basis on which local churches could be organized. They proceeded to organize the Battle Creek church and then the Michigan State Conference. Then the following action was taken:

"Resolved, That the first session of the Michigan State Conference of Seventh-day Adventists be held at Monterey, Michigan, October 5-8, 1862." Ibid, Oct. 8, 1861.

"Appendix

"Page 210, organization--up to the year 1860 there had been no legal or church organization among the Sabbathkeeping Adventists. They had not even adopted a name. They spoke of themselves as the 'Scattered Flock,' the 'Little Remnant,' or some variation of such expressions. Now Elder White had announced through the Review that he must refuse to continue to assume personal responsibility for money lent to the Review and Herald office. He further expressed the hope that the time might soon come when 'this people will be in that position necessary to be able to get church property insured, hold their meeting houses in a proper manner, that those persons making their wills, and wishing to do so, can appropriate a portion to the publishing department.' He called upon his brethren to make suggestions as to how this desire might be effected so that 'we as a people' might act to secure the above advantages.

"Among the first responses to this request was one from the Brother B referred to in this connection, in which he expressed his conviction that it would be wrong to incorporate as a religious body according to law...

"After much discussion the misgivings regarding the propriety of legally organizing the publishing office were largely overcome, and at a conference held in September, 1860, the Advent Review Publishing Association was formed. A few months later the name was changed to the Seventh-day Adventist Publishing Association. Even after this step there still remained with some a reluctance to enter into church organization, and the subject continued to be discussed. However, with the large majority favoring organization, the movement proceeded, first by the organization of churches, then of state conferences, and, finally in 1863, of the General Conference." Testimonies for the Church, Volume One, p 715.

"The Seventh-day Adventist church was organized in 1863 with 3,500 members, half a dozen local conferences, about thirty ministerial laborers, and a General Conference committee of three." Last Day Events, p 50.

"The 'cause' in those days centered largely upon the publishing plant, its staff, and its products. To give the organization that was formed to handle it a name, a term was devised--'Seventh-day

Adventists.' When church organization was finally attained, the Review plant was all the office the church leaders had. This was to be so for another forty years." Ellen G. White Biography: The Early Elmshaven Years, Volume 5, 1900-1905, p 226.

"Bro. J. N. Andrews has been laboring with the church in Brookfield [New York] for a few weeks past, setting before them the subject of organization in its true light. All were convinced of its importance, and entered into it in earnest by laboring faithfully with each other to correct the erring, to reprove faults and remove stumbling-blocks. The church then organized, taking the name, Seventh-day Adventists, and adopting the covenant recommended in the Review. Bro. Henry Main was chosen elder, and Bro. Ira Abbey, deacon. The church now numbers twenty-four members. Six others made application, but for various reasons their names were postponed till our next meeting for action. The systematic benevolence plan was then cheerfully entered into, by which we shall raise about $100 annually." Review and Herald, March 13, 1863.

"Q. --How do you organize your churches and raise funds for your work?

"A. --Our organization is very simple. A body of believers associate together, taking the name of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of (whatever locality they may be in,) and adopt a covenant 'to keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.' They have no creed but the Bible. Elders, deacons, and clerks are the officers employed. A local organization to hold church property is formed the same as in other denominations, according to the laws of the various states. Next to the churches come the state conferences, embracing all the churches in a state, or other district; next is the General Conference, embracing all the state conferences. This is the highest body, and its decisions, although only advisory, are generally cheerfully complied with by all the members of the organization. Tract and missionary societies, and Sabbath schools throughout our denomination, are organized on the same lines, the headquarters of the first being the 'International Tract and Missionary Society,' at Battle Creek, Mich; that of the second being 'The International Sabbath School Association,' at Oakland, Cal." Uriah Smith, "Seventh-day Adventists and Their Work", p 10.

"In our church organization, the General Conference, composed of delegates from the different State Conferences, is our highest authority. This Conference chooses annually, besides the usual officers, a committee of three who have the oversight of the work throughout the entire field.

"Next to this are our several State Conferences, composed of the ministers and delegates from all the churches, in their respective States. These Conferences also have a committee of three to take the oversight of the work in their several States during the Conference year.

"Next to these stand individual churches, associated together under the following simple covenant: 'We, the undersigned, hereby associate ourselves together as a church, taking the name Seventh-day Adventists, covenanting to keep the commandments of God, and faith of Jesus.' The officers of the church are local elders, deacons, and clerk." James White, Life Incidents, p 300.

Has Rome taken the SDA church?

Before sharing I would like to add that since this Newsletter is directed to our Seventh day Adventist (SDA) brethren I will be quoting quite a bit from the writings of Ellen G. White. For those of you that don’t know who this woman is, I strongly suggest stopping by my “Who is Ellen G. White” page on the website for a quick summary of facts that may surprise you.

Christian greetings in these last days of life on earth. Lately I have realized many like minded brethren have been asking the question,”is the Seventh day Adventist (SDA) church a Christian church, or is it Babylon like all the rest?” Since I am known by some to expose antichrist and his fruits wherever he rears his ugly head, this may be why some have thought to ask me to comment. I usually avoid exposing in detail other denominations simply because all of them spin off of Rome anyway. I usually concentrate on the mother of harlots so that when her fruits are put in the light of day, others outside her walls can see her rotted doctrines within their own church walls. However, the SDA church is a unique case. They were never actually “spun off” from Rome. Instead they allowed Rome to take them over.

Something as important as the SDA church being infiltrated, taken over, re-organized, and finally destroyed by Rome has to be a prophetic event. Seeing how our Lord has guided us ever step of the way throughout history, I am one to believe He would'nt drop the ball at such an time as this? I am sure Satan would hope to think so. Or at least get us to think that way.

What I am about to share can be backed by the Word of God completely, so I would ask those that may not agree with me to at least study this out before ignoring me. Some of you may be offended simply because you have always been taught by SDA preachers that you are to stay with the church no matter how bad the apostasy gets. In fact, most SDA's are taught Ellen White stated that the SDA church should never be called Babylon and all SDA's should stand firm in the church. Sadly, when you put her words back in context, and especially when you look into the Word of God, a book they agree she would never contradict, you see they are being lead astray.

Were you aware the same methods were used by the Jewish leaders thousands of years ago when probation closed on the Synagogues? Were you also aware this is what the Vatican leaders said when Luther stepped out and pointed the people back to Christ? And were you also aware this is what the Protestant leaders said when their brethren stepped out to form the SDA church so long ago? Sadly, and prophetically “on time” I might add, this is exactly what the SDA leaders are saying right now as the believers are stepping out to “...follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. " –Revelation 14:4

Jesus said the gates of Hell would never prevail against His church. (Matthew 16:18) Problem is most people look at "church" as a building, or a "name" when in fact it's nothing more then the people in it. In fact the name itself has nothing to do with the salvation of souls. (the NAME) There is no valid Biblical reason why God would desire any of His separated people to defend their right and waste precious time and money to call themselves "Seventh-day Adventist." I would like  ask those that believe it is time to leave the SDA church, and at the same time feel we must "keep the name" Seventh-day Adventist, to respond to the following Scripture and SOP facts.

All throughout the history of the people of God we see one repetitive and blessed characteristic. It has been noted quite graphically through time that it is not just a characteristic, however, but more of a necessity. Of course I speak of the heart prodding need to "come out of her my people" to better follow the Lord wherever He may lead.

If we investigate the way the Father led His people out of Babylon in the past three historic movements of His church, we will become better able to discern the will of the Holy Spirit in the fourth and final movement of God’s church.

"I wish to emphasize the fact, that the churches to which John was told to send the instruction given him represent all the churches in our world, and that this revelation to him is to be studied and believed and preached by the Seventh_day Adventist Church today. Christ came personally to John to tell him ‘the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter.’ (Rev. 1:11) And He said unto him, ‘What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches.’ (Rev. 1:19) The light was not to be hidden under a bushel.

"In the revelation that Christ gave are linked together in a chain of truth the important messages of warning that are to be given to the world before Christ’s second coming. The last message of mercy is to be proclaimed where it has never yet been heard. The workers are to labor with such self_denial, such self_sacrifice, that the message will be borne to those who have not heard it." 1MR 372.

The message to the seven churches is, without question, to be proclaimed throughout the ages. Today, being in the time of the last church, we are called to embrace all the messages due to the urgency of the times we live in. It is common knowledge that the devil knows he has but a short time, so he is, in fact, going about the world devouring anyone he can. Never before in the history of the church have we seen such an orchestrated attack on God’s people. Every lesson the enemy has learned in studying the weaknesses of God’s people over the last 6000 years is now being used against us. We are about to experience a time of trouble like no other. Of this much we are sure.

The seven prophetic periods spoken of in Revelation chapters two and three indicate what it would take for the Holy Spirit to hone the characters of those "called out ones" into that perfection that was prophesied. This remnant glorifies the Father like no other body of believers can. This is that peculiar people, the "remnant of her seed," (Revelation 12:17) that receive the seal of the Living God. This is why so many strange laws are being lobbied and passed today. We are a major threat to Satan and he knows it!

The movements of God’s people during the time of the seven churches are, of course, those called out of Babylon to "follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth." (Revelation 14:4) These movements have been realized by faithful students of the Scriptures to be the children of God doing as His perfect will would have them do. Their movements are seen as yet another way to prove Christ Lord and His Truth supreme. For without His hand involved, they would never take a single step in the first place. Where there is no step, there is no movement.

"From age to age Christ had delivered His treasures to the church, and from one generation to another His faithful servants have improved the talents lent them. The gifts that eighteen hundred years ago He placed in the hands of His chosen ministers, the twelve apostles, have descended to His workers in this age. Yet how few of us realize our high privileges, and our true position as ministers of His grace." -5MR 358

Our day is to be no exception. The Lord plainly stated "I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." (Matthew 28:20) He is with us! We mustn’t put a blind eye, or a cold shoulder to the calling we feel pulling at our very souls. To do so would be a lie to our hearts. Following the Lamb wherever He goes means just that!

"The world is preparing for the last great conflict, nation rising against nation. The vast majority of human beings are taking their stand against God. But in every age the Lord Jesus has had His witnesses—a remnant who trusted in the Word of God. And today, in every place, there are those who hold communion with God. A vital undercurrent of influence is leading them to the light, and when the question comes to them, ‘Who is on the Lord’s side?’ they will take their position for Him. Their characters have been moulded after the divine similitude, because they have read and practised the teachings of His Word." -ST 11/23/04.

Before the seven churches came to be, salvation was of the Jews, in fact, this was the church of God. The Jewish people were called to proclaim the Gospel of Truth to all the people of Earth. However, as history proves they did the exact opposite. With that in mind, the Lord had to step in and do something wonderful. He had to call a people that would do the work! Directly after the Lord saw the Jewish nation refused to do His work, He called upon others. In Revelation we see the Lord instructing these churches. In History we see four movements of these churches He has personally directed.

"God has a church upon the earth, who are His chosen people, who keep His commandments. He is leading, not stray offshoots, not one here and one there, but a people." FLB 282

The Lord has always had a church on earth. The past movements of His Christian church are evidence of the fruit that speaks boldly of the virgin hearts His remnant children have had throughout the ages. Only "whatsoever saith the Lord" can tug at the heart strings of His people. Even when those around them seek after the flesh, their only recourse is to go wherever the Lamb leads. Even if this means to forsake family and friends, the remnant must walk with the Lord and do as they are created to do. The elect can do nothing else.

"In the rejection of the ways of God for the ways of men, the downfall of Israel began. Thus also it continued, until the Jewish people became a prey to the very nations whose practices they had chosen to follow.

"As a nation the children of Israel failed of receiving the benefits that God desired to give them. They did not appreciate His purpose or co_operate in its execution. But though individuals and peoples may thus separate themselves from Him, His purpose for those who trust Him is unchanged. ‘Whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever.’ (Eccl. 3:14)

"While there are different degrees of development and different manifestations of His power to meet the wants of men in the different ages, God’s work in all time is the same. The Teacher is the same. God’s character and His plan are the same. With Him ‘is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.’ (James 1:17)

"The experiences of Israel were recorded for our instruction. ‘All these things happened unto them forensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.’ (1 Cor. 10:11) With us, as with Israel of old, success in education depends on fidelity in carrying out the Creator’s plan. Adherence to the principles of God’s word will bring as great blessings to us as it would have brought to the Hebrew people." ED 50

The loving advice our Lord gives to the Laodicean church plainly speaks of nothing short of true repentance for those trapped in this blindness of mind. No different than the Jewish leaders of Christ’s day, we see the prideful leaders of the Adventist church today rejecting blunt counsel so clearly laid out in the Words of our Lord. Over the years the Lord has sent many of His faithful children to warn those He cares for. But all the warnings have been ignored by most. Even when undeniable facts have been brought before their eyes, they have turned away choosing to ignore rather then act. Probation has most certainly closed on this church, just as probation closed on the Jews as a nation so long ago and the Protestant churches in 1844. Like then it has closed on the church itself and not on the dear people within it.

When the 490 year prophecy was fulfilled, the Lord called a people out of error and started the Christian movement with those called out ones. Paul actually went into those prophetically closed churches to bring them out. Today, the Lord is doing the very same thing. His children will only go withersoever the Lamb leadeth, and as we are all aware, He would never lead them to embrace open apostasy. To believe He would, is to go directly against His written Word.

If your church leaders are using Ellen White to stay IN apostasy, how do they explain these verses that clearly say to come OUT of apostasy?

"The vision that Christ presented to John, presenting the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, is to be definitely proclaimed to all nations, people, and tongues. The churches, represented by Babylon, are represented as having fallen from their spiritual state to become a persecuting power against those who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. To John this persecuting power is represented as having horns like a lamb, but as speaking like a dragon."  TM 117; EV 197

"If the church of God becomes lukewarm, it does not stand in favour with God any more than do the churches that are represented as having fallen and become the habitation of devils and the hold of every foul spirit and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird." 19MR 176

"The world must not be introduced into the church. And married to the church, forming a bond of unity. Through this means the church will become indeed corrupt and as stated in Revelation, a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.." TM 265

The state of the Seventh_day Adventist church today is most assuredly BabylonEvery aspect of apostasy and spurious dogma have been embraced by her leaders, and they have done so for decades. A close examination of the following text will lead one to see that this was indeed a prophesied state for this church. The "woman" has now become complacent, and at the same time, the remnant of her seed stands strong.

  • "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have thetestimony of Jesus Christ." Revelation 12:17

It is plainly prophesied that the dragon will concentrate his attack and make war on the remnant of her seed, and not the seed itself. Originally the seed of the woman, the main church, held to the law and understood prophecy well enough to anger the dragon. But eventually she allowed his anger to wear her down which in turn caused her to bow to him. It is the remnant of her seed that now causes him to go to war, for they will never bow. The Seventh day Remnant is most assuredly to be those that will overcome.

"Although the law of God will be almost universally made void in the world, there will be a remnant of the righteous that will be obedient to God’s requirements. The wrath of the dragon will be directed against the loyal servants of Heaven. Says the prophet, ‘The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.’ (Rev. 12:17) We can see from this scripture that it is not the true church of God that makes war with those who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. It is the people who make void the law, who place themselves on the side of the dragon, and persecute those who vindicate God’s precepts."-ST 04/22/89

The dragon went to make war with the remnant of her seed.

THE FAITHFUL

THE PERSECUTORS

  1. Christians
  2. Protestants
  3. Adventists
  4. Remnant
  1. Jews
  2. Catholics
  3. Protestants
  4. Adventists
  1. Christians persecuted by Jews. (Jewish church leaders sought out Christians for imprisonment and death)
  2. Protestants persecuted by the Papacy. (Hundreds of millions of Christians killed as heretics by Papal Rome)
  3. Adventists persecuted by Protestants. (Protestants ridiculed, and scoffed Adventists during the Great Disappointment)
  4. Remnant persecuted by Adventists. (Remnant taken to court, as well as ridiculed, scoffed, and unlawfully disfellowshipped by SDA church)

Even today, those of us that share truth out of genuine concern for those falling into apostasy have seen all sorts of evil attributed to our loving acts. I am no stranger to these attacks as many of you know. Sister White declared this so perfectly when she said…

"Ahab regarded Elijah as his enemy because the prophet was faithful to rebuke the king’s secret iniquities. So today the servant of Christ, the reprover of sin, meets with scorn and rebuffs." -3SP 12; DA 589

As we know by studying prophecy, Rome’s ecumenical movement we see so prevalent in today’s world, will eventually gather all of the churches of the world back into her court to encamp against the faithful remnant Revelation 12:17 speaks of. We see this in the movements of the Papacy via the one world church, and we see the Protestant Christian Coalition acting in concert with Rome to the same end right here in the United States. Soon the day will come when we will see what all the Christians of old saw during times of great persecution. All those that hate truth will surround the globally hated children of the remnant.

It is time to approach our dear brothers and sisters in the Lord to try and share with them the urgency of our day before it is too late for them. Sad thing is, this is not an easy row to hoe. Satan has already convinced many of them with the same method of confusion he has used in the past. Many are now embracing the idea that the Seventh day Adventist church will go through to the end regardless of the fact that there is so much evidence stacked against it exposing it as a sister to fallen Babylon. Truth is plain here. If they embrace the lies, how can they be for the Truth? Yet, some will allow open sin to flourish for what they see as the "greater good." This confusion alone should be all that is needed to realize that this is yet another sign proclaiming that the Lord’s hand is indeed involved in this final Seventh day Remnant movement.

SEPARATION CALLED HERESY

  1. The Jewish church proclaimed separation heresy.
  2. The early Christian church which became the Catholics also proclaimed heresy of those that separated from it.
  3. The Protestant church to this day, while never completely separated from Rome, claims to be the only way to heaven.
  4. And now the Seventh day Adventist church echoes the same proclamation that it is better to stay with the sinking ship, than to leave it.

Looking to the Word one can see the believers faithfully following their Lord to do the work He called them to do. At first we had the Jewish church that had been chosen by the Father to proclaim His Truth to the World. But error was introduced and they were eventually found unworthy of everlasting life and unable to proclaim truth. So the Lord’s people came out from among them to labor for the Lord and start the Christian movement. Next we see the church was again infiltrated by error when Roman Catholicism allowed the mixture of Paganism with Christianity to flourish. Again the Lord’s people came out of error laboring in the Protestant Reformation. Sadly, once again error was embraced, and the voice of our Lord was heard by His faithful Adventist people to come out of Babylon to labor for Him in the ninth hour. Of course, history recorded this as the Seventh day Advent movement. Finally, today in the eleventh hour, we see the Seventh day Adventist church is now boldly embracing error as truth. So the Lord is once again proclaiming to His faithful Remnant to come out from among them and do the work that is so urgent for our day.

Can you see the prophetic certainty of these events? Is this not illustrated perfectly in the parable of the workers in the vineyard told by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself? Is this not an amazing prophetic fulfillment in our lifetime?

"For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive." –Matthew 20:1-7

Early in the morning = Jewish nation

3rd hour = Christians
6th hour = Protestants
9th hour = Adventists
11th hour = Seventh-day Remnant

The truth is, the true believers separated themselves from the Synagogue of the Jewish nation after they realized the Lord was no longer among such apostasy. They also stepped away from the Paganism of Roman Catholicism when it became apparent. They even stepped out of Protestant error as well and became Seventh day Adventists. And now we see the faithful Remnant once again going in the only true direction a child of God can go. The Seventh day Adventist church has asked Jesus Christ to leave and we the Remnant can do nothing less then follow the Lamb! What shocks me is the Seventh day Adventist people have been known to understand prophecy. Yet this one prophecy of Matthew 20:1-7, that’s confirmed in Revelation 12:17 is totally missed by them. The dragon is no longer angry at that woman! (SDA church) because he has her now! This is why he is making was with the Remnant of her seed (SDR church) instead!

We can only be led by the Lamb of God. We are not to be defiled by these women, which are in fact the apostate churches that Revelation 14:4 speaks of. The Lord’s elect cannot be deceived. We must follow wherever He leads! We do so only because we are His sheep and we most assuredly hear His voice. When the leaders of the church openly embrace error and refuse every warning to repent, the remnant can stand no longer with them. (Titus 3:10) Especially after so much truth has been given her and so much has been done to try and make known to them the apostasy they not only embrace, but encourage.

Of those who boast of their light and yet fail to walk in it Christ says, "But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment than for you. And thou, Capernaum [Seventh-day Adventists, who have had great light], which art exalted unto heaven [in point of privilege], shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works which have been done in thee had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day."--RH Aug. 1, 1893. [THE BRACKETED COMMENTS ARE BY ELLEN WHITE.] The church is in the Laodicean state. The presence of God is not in her midst.--1NL 99 (1898).  {LDE 49.1,2}

Are we not a people who understand both biblical and prophetic jurisprudence? Are we not moved deep within to seek refuge where we can worship in truth as our hearts so deeply desire? The elect cannot stand with error, no more than Satan can stand in truth. It is literally and totally impossible. Not even loved ones can convince us to ignore our Lord!

Keep in mind. His children truly hear His voice. They are definitely coming out. This is not something anyone needs to be convinced of anymore. A mass exodus is being realized around the world. For those of us with global ministries, this truth is repeated daily before our eyes by people from all walks of life. People both inside and outside the church are seeing this clearly.

Those for or against separation agree, there is another movement being seen today! That much is clear. As I said earlier, the Lord’s hand is apparent here. For without His hand involved, God’s followers would never take a single step out of the fallen church. Where there is no step, there is no movement. And there is most assuredly a movement of God’s people this very day.

A few years ago I made a public inquiry regarding "a mass exodus" out of the Seventh day Adventist church. I wanted to know if anyone else was seeing it. In a comparatively short time, I received a most astonishing response from emails, phone calls, and letters from all around the world expressing an agreement on this fact, as well as seeking counsel on what to do next. In fact I am still, to this day, getting emails on this every week! People from all over the world are seeking those they can trust to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth with. They are hungry for the truth we share. They tell me time and time again it is not being proclaimed from the SDA pulpits anymore. Strangely enough, some dear SDA people were completely shocked when they discovered basic SDA doctrines they never knew about! They never knew because their pastors stopped teaching them. That fact alone caused them to leave that church. No longer are the sheep being fed in these churches. They have left, for there is no place for them in these churches any longer. It is obvious the Lord’s voice is being heard. His children are responding to His call to "come out of her my people."

NOTE 1: Many believe that Philadelphia ended in 1844, but that door which was opened to Philadelphia was the door of the Most Holy Place in Heaven (see 4SOP 268_269). Thus the Philadelphian experience extends past October 22, 1844 until Christ’s work of ministration is ended.

NOTE 2: Christ has left the Adventist movement as well as the SDA church (8T 250) because of apostasy just as He did the Jewish church. (Genesis 49:10, Matthew 21:4323:12 _ 24:2; 27:50,51). The Holy Spirit pulls at the hearts of His children to come out of the fallen churches to embrace Him and His truth. (Revelation 3:15_17; 16:9,11; 18:1_5)

1. Their claim that "their movement is symbolized by that other angel of Revelation 18." How does this square up against the word of Inspiration? We read: "The third angel's message is swelling into a loud cry..." 1888 Materials: pg.959; and again: The time of test is just upon us, for the loud cry of the third angel has already begun in the revelation of the righteousness of Christ, the sin-pardoning Redeemer. This is the beginning of the light of the angel whose glory shall fill the whole earth." Ibid.1073.

I believe that we are in this "swelling" period right now, the "beginning of the light of the angel whose glory shall fill the whole earth." My conviction that this is so is enforced by the following statement which I believe is being fulfilled RIGHT NOW! "I saw that God has honest children among the nominal Adventists and the fallen churches, and before the plagues shall be poured out, ministers and people will be called out from these churches and will gladly receive the truth. Satan knows this; and before the loud cry of the third angel is given, he raises an excitement in these religious bodies, that those who have rejected the truth may think that God is with them. He hopes to deceive the honest and lead them to think that God is still working for the churches. But the light will shine, and all who are honest will leave the fallen churches, and take their stand with the remnant." EW 261. Doesn't this exactly describe your experience and mine and the experience of thousands around this globe, and doesn't this statement strengthen and encourage us as we see its fulfillment happening all around us?

But let us read on: "Under the proclamation of the third angel, great power is to come to the church. This is represented in the description given by John in Revelation 18: "And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lighted with his glory" (verse 1). This is the last call to Babylon --the fallen churches. It is the loud cry to be given at the closing up of the last message of mercy to a fallen world." MS 93, 1903, p. 10.

And again: "The last great conflict is before us; but help is to come to all who love God and obey his law, and the earth, the whole earth, is to be lighted with the glory of God. "Another angel" is to come down from heaven. This angel represents the giving of the loud cry, which is to come from those who are preparing to cry mightily, with a strong voice, " Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird." RH 04/19/06.

So this angel of Revelation 18 represents the giving of the loud cry (IT DOES NOT REPRESENT A CHURCH OR AN ORGANIZATION), but let us look at another VERY IMPORTANT aspect of the loud cry, which also tells us when it will be manifested. We read: "I heard those clothed with the armor speak forth the truth in great power. It had effect. I saw those who had been bound; some wives had been bound by their husbands, and some children had been bound by their parents. The honest who had been held or prevented from hearing the truth, now eagerly laid hold of the truth spoken. All fear of their relatives was gone. The truth alone was exalted to them. It was dearer and more precious than life. They had been hungering and thirsting for truth. I asked what had made this great change. An angel answered, "It is the latter rain. The refreshing from the presence of the Lord. The loud cry of the Third Angel." 1RH 12/31/57.

And again: "As the members of the body of Christ approach the period of their last conflict, "the time of Jacob's trouble," they will grow up into Christ, and will partake largely of his Spirit. As the third message swells to a loud cry, and as great power and glory attends the closing work, the faithful people of God will partake of that glory. It is the latter rain which revives and strengthens them to pass through the time of trouble. Their faces will shine with the glory of that light which attends the third angel." 1RH 05/27/62

So if these people maintain that "their movement is symbolized by that other angel of Revelation 18" then they are saying that the latter rain began in 1914 when that church was founded, are they not? But we read: "Not one of us will ever receive the seal of God while our characters have one spot or stain upon them. It is left with us to remedy the defects in our characters, to cleanse the soul temple of every defilement. Then the latter rain will fall upon us as the early rain fell upon the disciples on the Day of Pentecost." 5T 214.

"When the third angel's message closes, mercy no longer pleads for the guilty inhabitants of the earth. The people of God have accomplished their work. They have received "the latter rain," "the refreshing from the presence of the Lord," and they are prepared for the trying hour before them. Angels are hastening to and fro in heaven. An angel returning from the earth announces that his work is done; the final test has been brought upon the world, and all who have proved themselves loyal to the divine precepts have received "the seal of the living God." Then Jesus ceases His intercession in the sanctuary above. He lifts His hands and with a loud voice says, "It is done;" and all the angelic host lay off their crowns as He makes the solemn announcement: "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still." Revelation 22:11. Every case has been decided for life or death. Christ has made the atonement for His people and blotted out their sins. The number of His subjects is made up; "the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven," is about to be given to the heirs of salvation, and Jesus is to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords." GC 613.

The way I understand the chain of these events is that if the Reform SDA church claims to be "the angel of Revelation 18, then the sealing began, as did the latter rain began to fall way back in 1914. But the problem that presents itself is where then does that statement from EW 261 [par.4, pg.1] fit in if the people are called out "before the loud cry of the third angel is given"? In fact to strengthen this argument we read: "The first, second, and third angels' messages are to be repeated. The call is to be given to the church: " Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. . . . Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities." 6RH 10/31/99.

Again we read: "Many who heard the first and second angels' messages thought they would live to see Christ coming in the clouds of heaven. Had all who claimed to believe the truth acted their part as wise virgins, the message would ere this have been proclaimed to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. But five were wise and five were foolish. The truth should have been proclaimed by the ten virgins, but only five had made the provision essential to join that company who walked in the light that had come to them. The third angel's message was needed. This proclamation was to be made. Many who went forth to meet the Bridegroom under the messages of the first and second angels, refused the third angel's message, the last testing message to be given to the world. A similar work will be accomplished when that other angel, represented in Revelation 18, gives his message. The first, second, and third angels' messages will need to be repeated. The call will be given to the church, "Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins." " Babylon , the great, is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. . . . Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues: for her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities" [[Rev. 18:2-5].

Now when were the 3 angel's messages repeated prior to 1914?, for it is only after the 2nd time they are given that the angel of Revelation 18 is manifested! And when was the call given to "the church" to come out of Babylon ? Yes, during the late 1800's a Mr. Stanton did give a message proclaiming the SDA church as Babylon and calling the people out of her, but the Lord's messenger stood stoutly against that call stating that it was a false message. At that time the SDA church was still holding fast to the principles of truth, but today, the only thing the present SDA church is standing against is those who dare to expose her filthiness and harlotry! Is it not evident that the 3 angels messages need to be repeated at this time to the SDA church, that those who will not partake of the plagues will separate from all Babylonian practices and associations? No, their claim to symbolize that movement does not fit in at all.

2. You state that "Some of them assert that the self-supporting ministries are going into the track of independency." Let us look at that in the light of Inspiration. They are probably referring to this statement: "I know that the Lord loves His church. It is not to be disorganized, or broken up into independent atoms. There is not the least consistency in this. There is not the least evidence that such a thing will be. Those who shall heed this false message, and try to leaven others will be deceived, and prepared to receive advance delusions, and they will come to naught." MS 1: 304.

But the question that needs to be answered is "independent" of what--the organized church? Let us see. "God is leading a people out from the world upon the exalted platform of eternal truth--the commandments of God and faith of Jesus. He will discipline and fit up his people. They will not be at variance, one believing one thing, and another having faith and views entirely opposite, each moving independently of the body. Through the diversity of the gifts of governments he has placed in the church, they will all come to the unity of the faith. If one man takes his views of Bible truth without regard for the opinions of his brethren, and justifies his course, alleging that he has a right to his own peculiar views, and then presses them upon others, how can he be fulfilling the prayer of Christ? and if another, and still another, arises, asserting his right to believe and talk what he pleases without reference to the faith of the body, where will be the harmony that Christ prayed might exist with his brethren that existed between him and his Father? Test. 24: 164.

So it is not being independent that displeases God, it is being independent of "the exalted platform of eternal truth--the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, the unity of the faith, the faith of the body." In fact, contrary to what you have been told we read:

"As we do this work, we must learn to rely upon what God can do for the saving of souls. Generally too much dependence is placed upon human ability, and too little faith is shown in him whose grace is sufficient to supply all our deficiencies. We are inclined to think that unless an organized company of workers is sent to a field, the efforts put forth will be useless. We feel as if we must belong to some organization if we would accomplish good. But John the Baptist did not work on this plan. His mission was to prepare the way for the Messiah by his God-given message; and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, he did the work appointed him without calling to his aid priest or rabbi." 5RH 03/29/98

And again: "He [Satan] works to restrict religious liberty, and to bring into the religious world a species of slavery. Organizations, institutions, unless kept by the power of God, will work under Satan's dictation to bring men under the control of men: and fraud and guile will bear the semblance of zeal for truth, and for the advancement of the kingdom of God . Whatever in our practice is not as open as the day, belongs to the methods of the prince of evil. His methods are practiced even among Seventh Day Adventists, who claim to have advanced truth." 1888 Mat.pg.1433.

In fact, look at these startling statements: "Independent men of earnest endeavor are needed, not men as impressible as putty. Those who want a work all made ready to their hand, where they have a fixed amount to do and a fixed salary, and where they will prove an exact fit without trouble of adaptation or training, are not the men God calls to do a work in his cause. A man who cannot adapt his abilities, to fill almost any place if necessity requires, is not the man for this time. Men whom God will connect with his work are not to be fibreless and limp, without muscle or moral force of character." T25:50 And again: "Individual independence and individual power is what is now needed. Individual character need not be sacrificed, but modulated, refined, elevated." Ibid.

So this sentiment that working independently is working contrary to God is only because the god they now worship is not God the Creator but the temple, the structure which they have erected, not God, as we shall see.

Yes, the Reform SDA church does have much truth. That cannot be denied. In fact, in contrast to the corporate SDA church their doctrines are much purer, but let us look at "the rest of the story." Their belief, sentiment, teaching, etc., that unless you belong to their church you cannot be saved is not Biblical in the slightest bit. We read: "Cyprian (d. about 258) is considered the founder of the Roman Catholic hierarchy. He advocated the theory that there is but one true church, and that outside of it there is no access to salvation." 4BC: 835.

So this is a totally papal concept which no true Christian should be expressing or even entertaining. For "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12. "We are not saved as a sect; no denominational name has any virtue to bring us into favor with God. We are saved individually as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. And "by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God." We may have our names recorded on the books of the most spiritual of the churches, and yet we may not belong to Christ, and our names may not be written on the Lamb's book of life. Christ said, "I am the way." 4RH 01/10/91

In closing, let me present the most significant reason why it is impossible for the Reform SDA church to be God's true remnant church. But first I must quote from their publication, which has a direct bearing on this issue. We read: "The apostasy in Laodicea is not to be erroneously attributed to its system of church organization. This feature of the SDA cause was by its pioneers a hard-won victory which contributed greatly to the early triumphs of the church. Today, in the church's present state of open apostasy, it is this system of organization that is the only remaining strength by which it continues to function." Reformation Herald, July--September 1991, pg.10.

Of course the author of this statement would like it to be true, and may even believe with all of his heart that it is true, because the organization of the Reform SDA church is an exact mirror image of the apostate, corporate, SDA church--it too has a General Conference, Divisions, Unions, and so on. It is no wonder that he is defending that organizational system. But that statement is absolutely false, as we shall see, for it IS its system of organization that led the SDA church to the fall into apostasy

In 1903, the leadership of the SDA church were involved in General Conference Proceedings. At this time a Minority Committee [David Paulson, E.J. Waggoner, and P.T. Magan] gave a report, part of which stated: "The minority report expresses in a word the feelings which actuated the minority in making the report, because we believe that the constitution proposed by the majority of the committee appears to us to be so subversive of the principles of organization given to us at the General Conference of 1897 and 1901. Those principles were given to us by the Spirit of God. In my judgment, and in the judgement of the minority of the committee, this constitution is absolutely subversive of those principles. Further: The proposed new constitution reverses the reformatory steps that were taken, and the principles that were given, and which were adopted as the principles of reorganization, at the General Conferences of 1897, and 1901, and which were incorporated in the constitution of 1901.--any man who has ever read 'Neander's History of the Christian Church,' Mosheim's or any of the other of the great historians--any man who has ever read those histories can come to no other conclusion but that the principles which are to be brought in through this proposed constitution, and in the way in which they are brought in, are the same principles, and introduced in precisely the same way, as they were hundreds of years ago when the Papacy was made." General Conference Bulletin, 35th Session, April 10, 1903.

Exactly 11 days later, in direct response to these treacherous actions by the leadership that led to the forming of the present organizational structure of the denomination, Ellen White was compelled to write these words: "In the balances of the sanctuary the Seventh-day Adventist church is to be weighed. She will be judged by the privileges and advantages that she has had. If her spiritual experience does not correspond to the advantages that Christ, at infinite cost, has bestowed on her, if the blessings conferred have not qualified her to do the work entrusted to her, on her will be pronounced the sentence: "Found wanting." By the light bestowed, the opportunities given, will she be judged… The heavenly Teacher inquired: "What stronger delusion can beguile the mind than the pretense that you are building on the right foundation and that God accepts your works, when in reality you are working out many things according to worldly policy and are sinning against Jehovah? Oh, it is a great deception, a fascinating delusion, that takes possession of minds when men who have once known the truth, mistake the form of godliness for the spirit and power thereof; when they suppose that they are rich and increased with goods and in need of nothing, while in reality they are in need of everything."... 'How is the faithful city become an harlot!' My Father's house is made a house of merchandise, a place whence the divine presence and glory have departed! For this cause there is weakness, and strength is lacking." 8T 247-250.

It was the very action of introducing the papal hierarchal system, the exact same system adopted by the Reform SDA church, and which governs it to this day, that compelled God to not only call it an HARLOT, but to remove His divine presence and glory from it! Where is the evidence that, as that committee reported, a papacy was forming? We read the following from official publications and leading scholars of the SDA church:

"Structure. At the local conference level the Seventh-day Adventist Church has a representative form of government. Above that level the polity of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is hierarchical: authority flows downward and members in local congregations have virtually no voice. Above that level, the Seventh-day Adventist Church is a closed, self-operating, and self-perpetuating system similar to the Roman Catholic Church, in which those in authority are not responsible to lower echelons. Above the local conference level, those in authority are not elected by, representative of, or administratively accountable to, local congregations or the membership at large." Raymond F. Cottrell Spectrum, March 1984 pg.42. (Associate Editor: SDA Bible Commentary)

And again: "There is ANOTHER universal and TRULY CATHOLIC ORGANIZATION, the SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH ." Neal Wilson, Adventist Review 3/5/1981.

FIVE TIMES then president of the General Conference, Neal Wilson referred to some of his vice-presidents as "CARDINALS," at the New Orleans General Conference. Adventist Review 7/3/1985.

So, as stated before, but which cannot be emphasized too much, the hierarchal system of organization which the Reformed SDA church practices and defends is directly contrary to the principles given by God and which led the SDA denomination to be labeled a harlot, devoid of His presence and glory. How then can the Reformed SDA church continue to claim that it is, or ever was, God's true remnant church???

Brother D, I hope that this answers satisfactorily your questions regarding the Reform SDA church, and what our attitude should be regarding any man-led denomination. In closing may I invite you to read with me: "And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by Thy name, to take away our reproach." Isaiah 4:1. Now let us compare that verse with this one: "These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth. There were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb." Revelation 14:4

Now we either belong to one group or the other. Which group, brother D, would you say the Reformed SDA church belongs to? Can it be a harlot and a virgin at the same time? Can it proclaim that none can be saved outside of it--none can find salvation in any other name, and yet claim to follow Christ also?

May God abundantly bless, and keep you as you contend earnestly for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Yours in the Blessed Hope,
Your brother in Christ,
Clarence A. Settle

Are You A Church Member of the firstborn church in Heaven, ZION or SION?

(CHURCH=YOUR FLESHY BODY WHERE ONLY THE PRESENCE OF GOD CAN CONSTITUTE A CHURCH)
Judas was chosen as one of Christ's disciples. Christ did not reject him because he was not perfect. Judas had the power to heal the sick and to cure diseases, but the lesson to be taught every one that is a church member is that having their names registered on the church books will never make them Christians. It is doing the Word that makes us sons and daughters of God. Manuscript Releases Volume Twenty-one, 369
Every member of the church who is united to Christ has sacred responsibilities resting upon him, and is bound by all the holy motives which the gospel recognizes as pure and sacred, to regard the salvation of souls as the highest interest entrusted to mortals, and thus become a co-laborer with God to rescue souls from the snare of Satan, and so influence, and educate, and train these souls that they shall be built up in truth and righteousness; for God will require this work of every individual who has accepted salvation.
The devoted church-member should accomplish much by 1.) holy living; 2.) by a painstaking discharge of every duty; 3.) by fervent prayer; 4.) by faithful warnings, especially by affectionate intercourse for the help and instruction of these souls for whom Christ has given His life, who are committed to the charge of the church, which charge they cannot neglect without imperiling their own souls and being disloyal to our crucified Redeemer. Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, May, 31, 1887
"Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light." This is a time when every member of the church should be waiting, and watching, and working. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we should be alive unto God; and every man, woman, and child who has a knowledge of the truth, should be able to discern the signs of the times. The weakness and inefficiency of the church must pass away. Creative power from above must impart life to the human agents whom God would use, that they may be able to cooperate with divine intelligences. The church to whom God has imparted His endowment of heavenly truth, must not remain dead in trespasses and sins. An Appeal to Our Churches in Behalf of Home Missionary Work, 21
Through trials and persecution, the glory—character—of God is revealed in His chosen ones. The church of God, hated and persecuted by the world, are educated and disciplined in the school of Christ. They walk in narrow paths on earth; they are purified in the furnace of affliction. They follow Christ through sore conflicts; they endure self-denial and experience bitter disappointments; but their painful experience teaches them the guilt and woe of sin, and they look upon it with abhorrence. Being partakers of Christ's sufferings, they are destined to be partakers of His glory. Thoughts From the Mount of Blessing, 31
When Christ ascended, He left the church and all its interests as a sacred trust to His followers. And the work of the church is not to be left to the minister alone, or to a few leading men. Every member should feel that he has entered into a solemn covenant with the Lord to work for the best interests of His cause at all times and under all circumstances. Each should have some part to act, some burden to bear. If all church-members felt an individual responsibility, greater advancement would be made in spiritual things. The solemn burden of responsibility resting upon them would lead them to seek God often for strength and grace. Gospel Worker, 1915, 200
God calls upon every church-member to enter His service. Truth that is not lived, that is not imparted to others, loses its life-giving power, its healing virtue. Every one must learn to work, and to stand in his lot and place as a burden-bearer. Every addition to the church should be one more agency for the carrying on of the great plan of redemption. The entire church, acting as one, blending in perfect union, is to be a living, active, missionary agency, moved and controlled by the Holy Spirit. Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, April 29, 1909
Not all the members of the church are cultivating personal piety; therefore they do not understand their personal responsibility. They do not realize that it is their privilege and duty to reach the high standard of Christian perfection. God is not well pleased when all the burden-bearing is done by a few members of the church, whose physical and spiritual powers are taxed to the utmost of their ability in their effort to counteract the influence of the worldly minded, halting, doubting ones. If those so lacking in piety and earnestness would seek to learn the lessons contained in God's Word, and would feel it their duty to practice these lessons, there would be more power in the church. Every member would seek to improve his talents. The light would not be hidden under a bushel, but placed on a candlestick, and its clear, steady rays would shine forth to dispel the darkness. Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, May 17,1906
Vigilant men are wanted in every church. Every member should be awake and active, feeling that he is responsible for the prosperity of the church. The reason there is so much dissension in the churches is because they do so little for God. Satan gives them a work to do for him in finding fault, murmuring, and talking discouragement. Second Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, March 14, 1878
Christ and the world are not in partnership. The apostle says, "Know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." Conformity to the world will never be the means of converting the world to Christ. Christians must be entirely consecrated to God, if the church is to be efficient in its influence for good upon unbelievers.
The slightest diversion from Christ is so much influence, power, and efficiency given to the enemy. The church was called into existence to counteract the influence of Satan; but as member after member of the church allows his ability and power to be diverted, one in one line and another in another line, connections are formed with the world, and the enemy of all righteousness triumphs. Almost imperceptibly the world's standard, the world's maxims and customs, are introduced into the church; and as these find room, the objectionable maxims and customs more boldly appear, and leaven the influence of the church; and Satan's devices are successful, just as he has designed they should be. In this way there is brought into the church a mixed company, a divided service.
Many profess to love God, yet they are serving mammon, and bowing at worldly shrines. The world is brought into the church, but not through repentance, contrition, and conversion, but because church-members become wedded to the world; and this unholy union is the explanation of the weakness and inefficiency of the church. It is made manifest when church-members follow the maxims of the world, that spiritual discernment is gone. Where this union is preserved, contention, criticism, faultfinding, strife, and decided hatred one of another comes in among those who should be servants of Jesus Christ. Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, August 23,1892
The Holy Spirit leaves no member of the church to develop a character that is without comeliness. He claims for every man and woman the privilege of becoming a child of light, an influence for righteousness, an example of a Christlike life. This is God's way of helping the church. Satan is working in every way to thwart the purpose of God, and God desires that His professing people shall make no mistakes, but that every move may be a right move. The Head of the church on earth requires the members of the church to surrender their will to the will of God, in willing obedience. God has united the agencies of the church on earth with the church in heaven. Australasian Union Conference Record, October 7, 1907
A bare assent to the truth is not Bible religion. Men do not become Christians merely by having their names written in the church-books. This belief is proving fatal to thousands upon thousands. It does not displease Satan to have any number of names upon the church-books while the heart is not brought into unity with Christ: he can work through those who have the form of godliness without the spirit and power. There are many professed Christians whose hearts are incased in a self-righteous armor that the arrow of the Lord, barbed and true-aimed by angel hands, would fail to pierce. Man must seek God for himself; then the Holy Spirit will take the precious truth, far above the price of rubies, as it falls from the lips of Jesus, and convey it, a living power, to the obedient heart. The Youth's Instructor, October 27, 1898
Christians in deed and in truth will have the spirit of Christ, they will naturally develop the mind and spirit which dwelt in Christ. They will consecrate the solemn import of the words of Christ, "He that will come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me, and so shall he be My disciple." It is a solemn statement that I make to the church, that not one in twenty whose names are registered upon the church books are prepared to close their earthly history, and would be as verily without God and without hope in the world as the common sinner. They are professedly serving God, but they are more earnestly serving mammon.
This half-and-half work is a constant denying of Christ, rather than a confessing of Christ. So many have brought into the church their own unsubdued spirit, unrefined; their spiritual taste is perverted by their own immoral, debasing, corruptions, symbolizing the world in spirit, in heart, in purpose, confirming themselves in lustful practices, and are full of deception through and through in their professed Christian life. Living as sinners, claiming to be Christians. Those who claim to be Christians and will confess Christ should come out from among them and touch not the unclean thing, and be separate. General Conference Daily Bulletin, February 4, 1893
Through all ages and in every nation those that believe that Jesus can and will save them personally from sin, are the elect and chosen of God; they are his peculiar treasure. They obey His call, and come out of the world and separate themselves from every unclean thought and unholy practice. Review and Herald, August 1, 1893
We are not saved as a sect; no denominational name has any virtue to bring us into favor with God. We are saved individually as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. "And by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God." We may have our names recorded on the books of the most spiritual of the churches, and yet we may not belong to Christ, and our names may not be written on the Lamb's book of life. Review and Herald, August 4, 1891
Every one whose name is on the church books should clearly understand what union with the church means. 1.) It means that you have pledged yourself to serve God. 2.) It means that you have fully surrendered self to Him, in order that Christ may reign where self once reigned. 3.) It means that you have given up the selfish ideas and plans that you cherished for so long, and have yielded your mind to the mind of Christ. 4.) It means that your fixed purpose is to be one with God, one with His people; that you will exercise self-denial and self-sacrifice to advance the interests of His kingdom; 5.) that you will strive to overcome everything that hinders growth in grace. Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, June 23, 1903
Will the churches (FLESHY BODIES) heed the Laodicean message? Will they repent, or will they, notwithstanding that the most solemn message of truth—the third angel's message—is being proclaimed to the world, go on in sin? This is the last message of mercy, the last warning to a fallen world. If the church of God becomes lukewarm, it does not stand in favor with God any more than do the churches that are represented as having fallen and become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Those who have had opportunities to hear and receive the truth and who have united with the Seventh-day Adventist church, calling themselves the commandment-keeping people of God, and yet possess no more vitality and consecration to God than do the nominal churches, will receive of the plagues of God just as verily as the churches who oppose the law of God. Only those that are sanctified through the truth will compose the royal family in the heavenly mansions Christ has gone to prepare for those that love Him and keep His commandments.

… All who claim to be Sabbath-keeping Adventists, and yet continue in sin, are liars in God's sight. Their sinful course is counterworking the work of God. They are leading others into sin. The word comes from God to every member of our churches, "And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." Manuscript Releases Volume Nineteen, 176

We are decided, whole-hearted Christians, or none at all. None will enter heaven without making a sacrifice. Those who are willing to make any and every sacrifice for eternal life will have it. And it will be worth suffering for, worth crucifying self for, and sacrificing every idol for. The far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory outweighs every earthly treasure, and eclipses every earthly attraction. Review and Herald, December 12, 1882

Should Membership be Cancelled When Leaving the Apostate New Movement SDA Church?

Dear Reader,

What follows is a letter to me regarding our duty when resigning membership in the new movement Seventy-day Adventist church and my response. It is hoped that this will provide insights into some of the important reasons why we should indeed removed membership from the church roster.

Subject: [DefendEGW] Re: Corporate Responsibility for Apostasy

Dear brother Ron,

My wife and I were baptized in a local SDA church from our country ( Romania ).Reading and studying the Bible and the mails received from this group especially this mail regarding corporate responsibility, we realized the actual apostasy of the church. So we ceased to attend the Sabbath services in the church, and instead we read the Bible at home and pray.

Our questions are: should we ask the church to erase our names from the role books to be in accordance with God's will?

Aren't we already separated through the fact that we don't attend their services? Are you still a member of the church?

Please answer because we really need to know what to do especially in the times that we are living.

May God Bless us all in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior.

Sincerely your brother and sister __________ and__________

My response:

Dear __________ and ___________,

Thank you for your questions. They are most important in light of the responses I provide below. If you still have questions after reading this response, please feel free to ask. Ron

You asked: "Our questions are: should we ask the church to erase our names from the role books to be in accordance with God's will?

Aren't we already separated through the fact that we don't attend their services? Are you still a member of the church?"

1. Yes, you should remove your names from any association, council, girding and confederacy that is not in accord with the will of God, and the new movement SDA church has removed God (1SM 205), so you should remove your membership in that omega of apostasy Synagogue of Satan. Jesus called the apostate Jewish church the Synagogue of Satan. Were I to ask you if it was okay to join the Synagogue of Satan and have my name on the books there, I don’t think you or God would approve. Right? There are other important reasons for removing your name which I will enumerate in this document. "Christ speaks of the church over which Satan presides as the synagogue of Satan. Its members are the children of disobedience. They are those who choose to sin, who labor to make void the holy law of God. It is Satan's work to mingle evil with good, and to remove the distinction between good and evil. Christ would have a church that labors to separate the evil from the good, whose members will not willingly tolerate wrong-doing, but will expel it form the heart and life." E.G White, Review and Herald Articles, Vol. 4, 243, cf. Signs of the Times, March 1, 1910.

2. No you are not separated by merely not attending. Your name on the books adds to the membership rating of the new movement. But it gets far more serious than that. Ellen White said that we should become obscure (quote furnished below). Having your names on the books would not comply with that instruction.

3. When the financial crunch comes upon the world, all SDA members could be held corporately responsible for any debt of their respective churches and/or the General Conference. Vance Ferrell has warned of this as well.In a church organized as a hierarchy, as the SDA church is, the members can be held corporately responsible for any debt in case of a financial failure. Get your names removed as soon as possible. Banks are already beginning to fail in the U.S.A.

4. “All those who join with an organization that is under corporation status accept the debt of that organization, and become subject to that debt of another. I do not need to tell you what scripture tells us about this debt. Borrowing money, for expansion, from the ungodly bankers, is not a biblical principle and, as such, cannot be blessed by God.” This quote is taken from this link: http://www.ecclesia.org/truth/501-church.html

5. It is imperative that you request a letter stating that your membership has been removed because some churches will leave your name on the books in hopes your decision is only temporary.

6. Yes, I removed my name from the church roster in 1986.

7. When you leave, you should give a testimony as to why you leave. Write a letter and give it to all the members of your church if possible. This is a powerful witness as the following statement attests:

"Even though you may not be able to speak a word to those who are working on wrong principles, leave them. Your withdrawal and silence may do more than words. Nehemiah refused to associate with those who were untrue to principle, and he would not permit his workmen to associate with them The love and fear of God were his safeguard-Dare to be a Daniel, Dare to stand alone. Thus as did Moses, you will endure the seeing of Him who is invisible. But a cowardly and silent reserve before evil associates, while you listen to their devices makes you one with them Come out from among them and be separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." Review & Herald Vol. 4, p. 42.

"If God has any new light to communicate, He will let His chosen and beloved understand it, without their going to have their minds enlightened by hearing those who are in darkness and error. {EW 124.2}

“I was shown the necessity of those who believe that we are having the last message of mercy, being separate from those who are daily imbibing new errors. I saw that neither young nor old should attend their meetings; for it is wrong to thus encourage them while they teach error that is a deadly poison to the soul and teach for doctrines the commandments of men. The influence of such gatherings is not good. If God has delivered us from such darkness and error, we should stand fast in the liberty wherewith He has set us free and rejoice in the truth. God is displeased with us when we go to listen to error, without being obliged to go; for unless He sends us to those meetings where error is forced home to the people by the power of the will, He will not keep us. The angels cease their watchful care over us, and we are left to the buffetings of the enemy, to be darkened and weakened by him and the power of his evil angels; and the light around us becomes contaminated with the darkness. {EW 124.3}

I saw that we have no time to throw away in listening to fables. Our minds should not be thus diverted, but should be occupied with the present truth,..." EW p. 125.

The Apostate Church Says:

"Regardless of the pretext, or how righteous the cause may appear, separation from the visible remnant [the SDA church] is apostasy from the body of Christ."Messenger, October, 1994, p 2.

Yet this Catholic teaching is so firmly entrenched in their minds that even after they have discovered that the SDA church is in apostasy, and have decided to physically leave the corrupt SDA church, some still retain their names on the corporate membership roll. They still retain a foot in the door of the church, still holding on to "Mother's" apron string, still touching or remaining connected with the corrupt church just in case the corporate church, with all its listed members, does indeed make it to heaven in the end!

But is this position acceptable in God's sight? Does your name on the membership rolls of an apostate church of Babylon , who has rejected the light from heaven, mean anything?

"My [Ellen White's] brother continued to fail rapidly. If he felt a cloud shutting Jesus from him, he would not rest until it was dispelled, and bright hope again cheered him. To all who visited him, he conversed upon the goodness of God, and would often lift his emaciated finger, pointing upwards, while a heavenly light rested upon his countenance, and say, ‘My treasure is laid up on high.’ It was a wonder to all that his life of suffering was thus protracted. He had a hemorrhage of the lungs, and was thought to be dying. Then an unfulfilled duty presented itself to him. He had again connected himself with the Methodist church. He was expelled in 1843 with the other members of the family, on account of his faith. He said he could not die in peace until his name was taken from the church-book, and requested father to go immediately and have it taken off.

"In the morning father visited the minister, stating my brother's request. He said that he would visit him, and then if it was still his wish to be considered no longer a member of their church, his request should be granted. Just before the minister arrived my brother had a second hemorrhage, and whispered his fears that he should not live to do this duty. The minister visited him, and he immediately expressed his desire, and told him he could not die in peace until his name was taken from the church-book; that he should not have united with them again if he had been standing in the light....Soon after this my brother fell asleep in Jesus, in full hope of having a part in the first resurrection." Spiritual Gifts, vol 2, p 163-164.

There is nothing written in the Bible or the Spirit of Prophecy that is not for our edification. So this testimony has significance for us today! Removing our names from the membership rolls of a church which has apostatized from God, rejected and changed the truths of the three angels' messages into falsehood, and has become Babylon fallen, is called "an unfulfilled DUTY." And this duty was carried out before Ellen White's brother had "full hope of having a part in the first resurrection"! Hence, there is a duty to leave any church which has rejected the three angels' messages. And especially is this the case with the Seventh-day Adventist church. What other church has had, and has rejected, greater light than the SDA church? It is true that we are not saved by being members of a church, but we can be lost by remaining members in a Babylonian one! A statement by Robert Sessler.

False Revivals - “I saw that God has honest children among the nominal Adventists and the fallen churches, and before the plagues shall be poured out, ministers and people will be called out from these churches and will gladly receive the truth. Satan knows this; and before the loud cry of the third angel is given, he raises an excitement in these religious bodies, that those who have rejected the truth may think that God is with them. He hopes to deceive the honest and lead them to think that God is still working for the churches. But the light will shine, and all who are honest will leave the fallen churches, and take their stand with the remnant.” {EW 261.1}

1. Many might think this quote applies to the past only (1848), but we have several questions:
2. Are we still living in a time “before the plagues are poured out?” If so, then could this statement still be just as valid as the day it was written? We believe that it is.
3. Others might say this quote only refers to other churches. But remember there is a distinction drawn between the nominal Adventists and the fallen churches. Remember that even some Seventh-Day Adventist churches and pastors will apostatize near the end.
4. Yet others say this was written for “Adventists” that were not keeping the Sabbath at that time. Are there any Seventh-Day Adventists today who are failing to keep the Sabbath from being trampled underfoot? We would submit there are many baptized Seventh-Day Adventists who have the same problem today.
5. Here is another question: Do we have any nominal Adventists today?
6. “Nominal” Definition 3a - “existing or being something in name or form only” –Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary
7. Sounds like lukewarm churches doesn’t it?

Sister White says the Remnant will LEAVE the GC SDA... In the Appendix of Early Writings,p. 299, we find the following definition of nominal Adventists:

"Nominal Adventists.--"Those who united in sounding the first and second angels' messages but who rejected the third angel's message with its Sabbath truth, but nonetheless continued to espouse the Advent hope, are referred to by Mrs. White as the 'nominal Adventists.' or those who 'reject the present truth' (p. 69), also 'different parties of professed Advent believers (page 124)...those who 'reject the present truth.." Early Writings, p. 299, Appendix.

The New Movement omega of Apostasy SDA church has surely rejected present truth since 1955-7, by fulfilling all the specifications of Selected Messages, Vol. 1, pp. 204-5, plus removing the Sanctuary and Atonement messages by removal of pillar doctrines and the adoption of the Trinity Doctrine in the early 1930's. In the Alpha, Ellen White saw the Sanctuary and Atonement GONE, and so it is in the Omega.

Sanctuary Gone Atonement Gone -- "In a representation which passed before me, I saw a certain work being done by medical missionary workers. Our ministering brethren were looking on, watching what was being done, but they did not seem to understand. The foundation of our faith, which was established by so much prayer, such earnest searching of the Scriptures, was being taken down, pillar by pillar. Our faith was to have nothing to rest upon--the sanctuary was gone, the atonement was gone." E.G. White, The Upward Look,152.

"I saw the nominal church and nominal Adventists, like Judas, would betray us to the Catholics to obtain their influence to come against the truth. The saints then will be an obscure [hidden] people, little known to the Catholics but the churches and nominal Adventists who know of our faith and customs (for they hate us on account of the Sabbath, for they could not refute it) will betray the saints and report them to the Catholics as those who disregard the institutions of the people that is, that they keep the Sabbath and disregard Sunday.

Note: It is now time to become obscure for obvious reasons. A word to the wise is sufficient. End note.

“Then the Catholics bid the Protestants to go forward, and issue a decree that all who will not observe the first day of the week, instead of the seventh day, shall be slain.

White, Dorchester ,Maine , October 23, 1850, Spalding--Magan's Unpublished Mss. Testimonies, pp. 1, 2.

“I saw that God has honest children among the nominal Adventists and the fallen churches, and before the plagues shall bepoured out, ministers and people will be called out from these churches and will gladly receive the truth. Satan knows this andbefore the loud cry of the third angel is given, he raises an excitement in these religious bodies, that those who have rejected the truth may think that God is with them. He hopes to deceive the honest and lead them to think that God is still working for the churches. But the light will shine, and all who are honest will leave the fallen churches, and take their stand with the remnant -Early Writings: p. 261.

"At Oswego ,New York , September 7, 1850, the Lord showed me that a great work must be done for His people before they could stand in the battle in the day of the Lord. I was pointed to those who claim to be Adventists, but who reject the present truth, and saw that they were crumbling and that the hand of the Lord was in their midst to divide and scatter them now in the gathering time, so that the precious jewels among them, who have formerly been deceived, may have their eyes opened to see their true state. And now when the truth is presented to them by the Lord's messengers, they are prepared to listen, and see its beauty and harmony, and to leave their former associates and errors, embrace the precious truth and stand where they can define their position." -Early Writings69.2

"I saw a number of companies that seemed to be bound together by cords. Many in these companies were in total darkness; their eyes were directed downward to the earth, and there seemed to be no connection between them and Jesus. But scattered through these different companies were persons whose countenances looked light, and whose eyes were raised to heaven. Beams of light from Jesus, like rays from the sun, were imparted to them. An angel bade me look carefully, and I saw an angel watching over every one of those who had a ray of light, while evil angels surrounded those who were in darkness. I heard the voice of an angel cry, 'Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come.'

"A glorious light then rested down upon these companies, to enlighten all who would receive it. Some of those who were in darkness received the light and rejoiced. Others resisted the light from heaven, saying that it was sent to lead them astray. The light passed away from them, and they were left in darkness. Those who had received the light from Jesus joyfully cherished the increase of precious light which was shed upon them. Their faces beamed with holy joy, while their gaze was directed upward to Jesus with intense interest, and their voices were heard in harmony with the voice of the angel, 'Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come.' As they raised this cry, I saw those who were in darkness thrusting them with side and with shoulder. Then many who cherished the sacred light, broke the cords which confined them and stood out separated from those companies. As they were doing this, men belonging to the different companies andrevered by them passed through, some with pleasing words, and others with wrathful looks and threatening gestures, and fastened the cords which were weakening. These men were constantly saying, 'God is with us. We stand in the light. We have the truth.' I inquired who these men were, and was told that they were ministers and leading men who had rejected the light themselves, and were unwilling that others should receive it." -Early Writings 240.1&2.

“The Spirit is poured out upon all who will yield to its promptings, and casting off all man’s machinery, his binding rules and cautious methods, they will declare the truth with the might of the Spirit’s power. Multitudes will receive the faith and join the armies of the Lord…The safeguards which false shepherds have thrown around their flocks with become as naught; thousands will step out into the light, and work to spread the light.” -Review and Herald, vol 3, p 272-275 (July 16 & 23, 1895).

“In the representations the Lord has given me, I have seen those who follow their own desires, misrepresenting the truth, oppressing their brethren, and placing difficulties before them. Characters are now being developed, and men are taking sides, some on the side of the Lord Jesus Christ, some on the side of Satan and his angels. The Lord calls for all who will be true and obedient to His law to come out of and away from all connection with those who placed themselves on the side of the enemy.” -Letter 256, August 1, 1906 & Last Day Events from the Letters and Manuscripts of E.G. White, p 94 & This Day With God, p. 222.

“Of those who are constantly working to undermine faith in the message God is sending to His people, I am instructed to say, ‘Come out from among them, and be ye separate’ [2 Corinthians 6:17] Come into light, brethren, and lead others to the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Those who in faith accept the leadings of the Spirit of God will see where their dangers lie, and will make decided moves in the right direction.” -Review and Herald, vol 5, p 435 (July 23, 1908).

“We shall be called to meet those who notwithstanding definite reproof and warning through the Testimonies have gone on in an evil course. We are bidden of God to hold ourselves separate and distinct from these men who have not given heed to His warning… For they deceive, if possible, the very elect. -Letter 330, November 11, 1906 & Manuscript Releases, vol 7, 196.

“Now those who have had years in this same experience, know not God nor Jesus Christ whom He has sent, and should such go forth as representatives of Jesus Christ? These men will never give the right mold to other minds; they have grown up to the full stature of men and women in Christ. They simply have the name of Christians but are not fitted for the work of God, and never will be until they are born again, and learn the A.B.C. in true religion of Jesus Christ. There is a little hope in one direction: Take the young men and women, and place them where they will come as little in contact with our churches as possible, that the low grad of piety which is current in the day shall not leaven their ideas of what it means to be a Christian.” -Letter 16f, May 9, 1892 & Manuscript Releases, vol 12, pp. 332-333.

Sister White said of these people that stay in such a church...

It is impossible for any one to become a true follower of Jesus Christ, without distinguishing himself from the worldly mass of unbelievers. If the world would accept of Jesus, then there would be no sword of dissension; for all would be disciples of Christ and in fellowship one with another, and their unity would be unbroken. But this is not the case. Here and there an individual member of a family is true to the convictions of his conscience, and is compelled to stand alone in his family or in the church to which he belongs, and is finally compelled, because of the course of those with whom he associates, to separate himself from their companionship. The line of demarkation is made distinct. One stands upon the word of God, the others upon the traditions and sayings of men. -Review & Herald, July 24, 1894, para. 3.

QUESTION:

Christ’s followers must be found spending their time, effort, and money on spreading the Three Angels’ Messages, not in the courts of the land fighting for a name of a church which they have chosen to separate from. Brethren, let us be about our work for God in spreading His truth, and not be sidetracked by Satan into spending our time, effort, and money in trying to cling to an idol. (the NAME) There is no valid Biblical reason why God would desire any of His separated people to defend their right and waste precious time and money to call themselves "Seventh-day Adventist." I would like ask those that believe it is time to leave the SDA church, and at the same time feel we must "keep the name" Seventh-day Adventist to respond to the following Scripture and SOP facts.

"I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts...And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord God shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name." Isaiah 65:2, 15.

"Not by its name, but by its fruit, is the value of a tree determined. If the fruit is worthless, the name cannot save the tree from destruction." DA p.107.

Are you claiming the name simply because you want the NAME? Or is it because you embrace the SDA theology of old? Prayerfully the latter is your reason. Now see this...

Romans 2:29, "But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God."

Babylon is said to be a harlot;" 4sp p. 232

The fruits of the SDA church speak volumes unto it being BABYLON .

For this cause there is weakness, and strength is lacking." 8T 250.2.

Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

Revelation 18:1-5, "And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

In the above document I have added statements that appear in a document from the following link. Ron
