The lies of Colossians 1:15-16 and 1 Corinthians 8:6 EXPOSED!

let us now look at the verses in question:

Colossians 1:15-16
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation
16 For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

There are few important points to notice here:

1-  Jesus being the "image" of GOD is nothing new nor unique in the Bible.  Man too was created from the Image of GOD Almighty in the Old Testament.  And the "Image" of GOD Almighty is clearly defined also in the Old Testament to be His

  • Holiness.
  • Righteousness.
  • Goodness.
  • So Jesus Christ being the Image of GOD Almighty does not make him GOD Almighty Himself.  And again, Jesus himself said that no one in the entire Universe can has a Goodness like that of GOD Almighty, and I (Jesus Christ) included BECAUSE HE WAS MADE TO BE SIN FOR US SO THAT WE COULD BE MADE RIGHTEOUS THROUGH HIM.

2-  Jesus being the "firstborn" of GOD Almighty.

  • Exodus 4:22 "Thus saith Jehovah, Israel is my son, even my firstborn."
  • Jeremiah 31:9 "I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn."
  • Psalm 2:7 "....Jehovah had said onto me, thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee."

  • to bear, bring forth, beget

People often think of Jesus as being the son of God in heaven before he was born, and his life on earth as a stage during in his life. The Bible does speak of Jesus in this way:

    1. Proverbs 8:30 "Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;"
    2. Galatians 4:4 "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,"
    3. John 16:28  "I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father."
    4. Psalm 90:2Proverbs 8:24 "When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water."
STRONGS on Proverbs 8:24: "BROUGHT FORTH2342a. chul or chil, to whirl, dance, writhe. Short Definition: anguish. anguish (6), (1), birth to you in pain (1), born (1), brings forth (1), brought forth (4), burst (1), calve (1), calving (1), gave you birth (1), gave birth (2), giving birth (1), labor (1), travailed (4),

1 Timothy 2:5 "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"

After being born of the Flesh, the virgin Mary: "And Jesus grew in wisdom, and stature, and in favour with men and God". (Luke 2:52)

A warning to those who do not believe that as spoken of in John 3:16, that GOD really had a Son to give, because GOD loved the world... For God SO LOVED the WORLD, that HE GAVE His ONLY Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, might be saved...

John 8:24 "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins." and in 1 John 2:22 (KJV) "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

"Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;"

Truth is determined by what God says, not by what man thinks God says ("Let God be true and every man a liar" - Romans 3:4).

First, Revelation 3:14 states that Jesus is "the beginning of the creation by God" (NWT). This means that Jesus was the first being to exist in the order of creation. Second, Colossians 1:15 states that Christ "is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation" (NWT). It is argued that the text calls Jesus the first one born in all of creation. Thirdly, Proverbs 8:22-25 states, "Jehovah himself produced me (Wisdom) as the beginning of his way, the earliest of his achievements of long ago . . . I was brought forth as with labor pains" (NWT).  (1) that Jesus is the "wisdom" of God (1 Corinthians 1:24) and (2) the wisdom being referred to in this passage. Now this passage states that this wisdom was "brought forth." Thus Jesus's existence is contingent upon God's creative act. Lastly, Jesus Himself declared that "the Father is greater than I am" (John 14:28; NWT). Therefore, Jehovah MADE Jesus equal with Him, and, consequently, not the same being.

Not only many were called "firstborn" and "Son" of GOD Almighty, but they were also called GODs:

  • Psalm 82:6 "I said, 'You are "gods"; you are all sons of the Most High.' "
"gods" here in Hebrew is "Elohim", which is plural of "EL".  It is the same exact thing as "EL" used for Jesus in Isaiah 9:6, since "gods" is a combination of several "EL"s.  And as clearly shown here, for someone to be called "god" or "God" in the Bible it wouldn't make him GOD Almighty Himself, the LORD or Jehovah.  I also want to point out that the "Son of GOD" in the Bible is a "god" or "God" as clearly shown in Psalm 82:6. Jesus was exalted to be equal with God Himself, yet Jesus is not the immortal, eternal GOD, His Father, and our Father.
  • So again, Jesus being called GOD Almighty's "firstborn" does not make him GOD Almighty Himself.

It is also quite possible that those who inserted their own corruption in the books of Colossians and 1 Corinthians misunderstood Jesus Origins.  Jesus was CREATED/Begotten/Brought forth/firstborn of Creation by GOD from His Word.  Jesus was a Word from the Word according to the New Testament.  Since GOD Almighty's Word creates all things through His Divine Command when He, the Almighty, Says for something: "Be" and it becomes, then it is quite possible that the corruptors of the Bible thought that Jesus was the entire Word of GOD Almighty; something that is both wrong and blasphemous according to Jesus Christ himself as shown in the links above.
