The Bible TRUTH about God

Is it REALLY so important to KNOW what God I worship? Let’s let the Bible answer the question. Get your Bible out and find John 17:3.

John 17:3 KJV says, “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the ONLY true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou has sent.” “Eternal life” sounds pretty important to me! I am sure you would agree.
So, how do I know for sure what God I worship? Let’s let the Bible answer the question:  2 Timothy 2:15 KJV says "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." And in Jeremiah 29:13 KJV "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."

God says in Jeremiah 33:3 KJV “Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV) "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."

Finding & having a relationship with God is better than winning the lottery or anything else you could do in this world! Study your Bible. Learn to pray. Talk to God as your best friend, because He REALLY loves you. He had plans for you before He created this world.

Should we ask God or people for answers? The Bible says in Isaiah 2:22 “Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he?” Ask God for answers! Send up a quick prayer, right now, and ask the living God of Heaven to enlighten your mind, just now to the truth about God.

Luke 8:12, "Those by the wayside are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved."

The word of the Lord, spoken through His servants, is received by many with questionings and fears. And many will defer their obedience to the warning and reproofs given, waiting till every shadow of uncertainty is removed from their minds. The unbelief that demands perfect knowledge will never yield to the evidence that God is pleased to give.He requires of His people faith that rests upon the weight of evidence, not upon perfect knowledge. Those followers of Christ who accept the light that God sends them must obey the voice of God speaking to them when there are many other voices crying out against it. It requires discernment to distinguish the voice of God.

Those who will not act when the Lord calls upon them, but who wait for more certain evidence and more favorable opportunities, will walk in darkness, for the light will be withdrawn. The evidence given one day, if rejected, may never be repeated.Testimonies for the Church Volume 3, p. 258.2

2 John 1:9 "He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath BOTH the Father and the Son."

John 5:23 "That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him."

Luke 10:16

"Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me."

1 John 2:23

No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

"It may be objected, If the Father and the Son are two distinct beings, do you not, in worshipping the Son and calling him God, break the first commandment of the decalogue? "No; it is the Father's will 'That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father.' We cannot break the commandment and dishonor God by obeying him. The Fathers says of the Son, 'Let all the angels of God worship him.' Should angels refuse to worship the Son, they would rebel against the Father. Children inherit the name of their Father. The Son of God 'hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than' the angels. That name is the name of his Father. The Father says to the Son, 'Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever.' Heb.1. The Son is called 'The mighty God.' Isa. 9:6. And when he comes again to earth his waiting people will exclaim, 'This is our God.' Isa. 25:9.

It is the will of the Father that we should thus honor the Son. In doing so we render supreme honor to the Father. If we dishonor the Son, we dishonor the Father; for he requires us to honor his son. "But though the Son is called God yet there is a 'God and Father of our lord Jesus Christ' 1Pet. 1:3. Though the Father says to the Son, 'Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever,' yet, that throne is given him of his Father; and because he loved righteousness and hated iniquity, he further says, 'Therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee.' Heb. 1:9. 'God hath made that same Jesus both Lord and Christ.' Acts. 2:36. The Son is 'the everlasting Father,' not of himself, nor of his Father, but of his children. His language is, 'I and the children which God hath given me.' Heb. 2:13." Review and Herald, June 1, 1869.

John 5:23

that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.

John 8:19

Then they asked him, "Where is your father?" "You do not know me or my Father," Jesus replied. "If you knew me, you would know my Father also."

John 16:3

They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me.

John 17:3

Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

1 John 4:2

This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,

1 John 4:15

If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.

1 John 5:1

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.

1 John 5:20

We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

2 John 1:9

Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

1 Timothy 2:5-6 KJV "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."

Hebrews 1:3 KJV "Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high."

Try these two verses as well. I really like the two you sent...how can you "assume" and just by "faith" believe something totally contrary to the Bible? Did you watch those 2 or 3 videos I sent you lately? They are interesting, I think.

Here's the other two verses I like:

John 14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Who is God? 1 Cor 8:6 tells is very plainly: "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him."

John 6:44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.

“To assert that the sayings of the Son and his apostles are the commandments of the Father, is as wide from the truth as the old trinitarian absurdity that Jesus Christ is the very and eternal God.” {James White, Aug 5, 1852, Review and Herald – Vol. 3 No. 7 P 52 Par 42}"''

"Are you filled with sorrow today? Fasten your eyes on the Sun of Righteousness. Do not try to adjust all the difficulties, but turn your face to the light, to the throne of God. What will you see there?--The rainbow of the covenant, the living promise of God. Beneath it is the mercy seat, and whosoever avails himself of the provisions of mercy that have been made, and appropriates the merits (worthiness) of the life and death of Christhas in the rainbow of the covenant a blessed assurance of acceptance with the Father as long as the throne of God endures.

Faith is what you need. Do not let faith waver. Fight the good fight of faith, and lay hold on eternal life. It will be a severe fight, but fight it at any cost; for the promises of God are yea and amen in Christ Jesus. Put your hand in the hand of Christ. There are difficulties to be overcome, but angels that excel in strength will cooperate with the people of God. Face Zion, press your way to the city of solemnities. A glorious crown, a robe woven in the loom of heaven, awaits the overcomer. Though Satan would cast his hellish shadow athwart your pathway, and seek to hide the mystic ladder from your view that stretches from earth to the throne of God, on which ascend and descend the angels who are ministering spirits to those who shall be heirs of Salvation (deliverance, freedom, rescue, healing and restoration), yet press your way upward, plant your feet on one round after another, and advance to the throne of the Infinite."

- Signs of the Times, May 2nd, 1895
Ellen White

Bear in mind that the time will never come when the shadow of Satan will not be cast athwart our pathway to obstruct our faith and eclipse the light coming from the Sun of Righteousness. Our faith must not staggerbut cleave through that shadow. We have an experience that is not to be buried in the darkness of doubt. Our faith is not in feeling, but in Truth (Thy Word is Truth ! - John 17:17). None of us need flatter ourselves that while the world is progressing in wickedness we shall have no difficulties.

It is these very difficulties that bring us to the audience chamber of the Most High, to seek counsel of the One who is infinite in wisdomHe loves to have us seek Him; He loves to have us trust Him and believe His Word. If we had no perplexities, no trials, we would become self-sufficient and lifted up in ourselves. The true saints will be purified, and made white, and tried.”

- 1NL p. 59 (Letter 58, 1909)

"O what great privileges belong to those who are believers and doers of the words of ChristIt is a knowledge of Christ as the sin-bearer, as the propitiation (atonement) for our iniquitiesthat enables us to live a life of holinessThis knowledge is the safeguard for the happiness of the human family.

Leviticus is about how everyday human beings can live in close proximity to a holy God. Are you living upon the PER MISSIVES OR THE PROMISES OF GOD TODAY?

"In grains, fruits, vegetables, and nuts are to be found ALL the food elements that we need." Counsels on Diet and Foods, p. 92.2

THE PLEDGE
“I solemnly promise, before God, to abstain from tobacco, spirituous liquors, snuff, tea, coffee, flesh-meats, butter, spices, rich cake, mince pies, a large amount of salt, and animal fat of all kinds, baking powder, soda or saleratus in any form, and cheese, and from all exciting articles of food, and to abstain from eating between meals, and to do all I can to induce others to do likewise.”

"Grains, fruits, nuts, and vegetables constitute the diet chosen for us by our Creator. These foods, prepared in as simple and natural a manner as possible,  are the most healthful and nourishing. They impart a strength, a power of endurance, and a vigor of intellect, that are not afforded by a more complex and stimulating diet. [The Ministry of Healing, p. 296.1 (1905)]

"The indulgence of appetite affects them in all the relations of life. It is seen in their family, in their church, in the prayer meeting, and in the conduct of their childrenIt has been the curse of their lives. You cannot make them understand the truths for these last days." —Counsels on Health, p. 152.

Leviticus 11:44-45

11:44  For I [am] the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I [am] holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

11:45  For I [am] the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I [am] holy.

Trinitarians have rejected Jesus, and despised his saints. The filthy must remain filthy forever. The last tear for sinners had been shed, the last agonizing prayer offered, the last burden borne, the last warning given. Mercy had stepped from the golden throne, no longer to intercede for the guilty sinner.   "All the men of that generation were not in the fullest sense of the term heathen idolaters. Many had a knowledge of God and his law; but they not only rejected the message of the faithful preacher of righteousness themselves, but used all their influence to prevent others from being obedient to God. To every one comes a day of trial and of trust. That generation had their day of opportunity and privilege while Noah was sounding the note of warning of the coming destruction; but they yielded their minds to the control of Satan rather than of God, and he deceived them, as he did our first parents. He set before them darkness and falsehood in the place of light and truth; and they accepted his sophistry and lies, because they were acceptable to them, and in harmony with their corrupt liveswhile truth that would have saved them was rejected as a delusion.” ST April 1, 1886, par. 3

"We invite all to compare the testimonies of the Holy Spirit through Mrs. W., with the word of God. And in this we do not invite you to compare them with your creedThat is quite another thingThe TRINITARIAN may compare them with his creed, and because they do not agree with it, condemn them. The observer of Sunday, or the man who holds eternal torment an important truth, and the minister that sprinkles infants, may each condemn the testimonies' of Mrs. W. because they do not agree with their peculiar views. And a hundred more, each holding different views, may come to the same conclusion. But their genuineness can never be tested in this way." {James White RH June 13, 1871}

Ellen G. White held her husband, James S. White up as an example for others to follow. She, of all people knew he vehemently rejected the trinity doctrine as unbiblical. She said James White was a type of Moses, that he was KEEN, NOBLE & TRUE and that he had been given GREAT light also, and was to speak and WRITE it out for OTHERS. She, as a true prophet of God would not ask others to follow her husband's leading if she herself did not believe the trinity was error. Remember? She stated that ALL of the pioneers came into harmony and were UNITED in the TRUTH! That included herself too! New truths do NOT contradict old truths or new light does not contradict OLD LIGHT, it only enhances the old light! When they came to something they all did not agree and understand, they would pray together, and God would show her the truth. They all worked together to hammer out the foundations of the early SDA church beliefs. "Whatever contradicts God's word, we may be sure proceeds from Satan." Patriarchs and Prophets, page 55, paragraph 2. "There is one straight chain of truth without one heretical sentence in that which I have written." — Ellen G. White, Letter 329A, 1905. (references: MS 135, 1903. (The Early Years, p. 145; James S. White, "type of Moses", Testimonies for the Church Volume 3, Page 85; "Moses was a type of Christ." {Patriarchs & Prophets, Chapter 43, p. 480-481; James White was "Keen, Noble & True" and was given "GREAT LIGHT also" and "he was to speak and WRITE it out for OTHERS", Selected Messages bk.1, p. 206-7 1904; As Moses was a type of Christ leading the ancient children of Israel, so James White, says Ellen White, was a type of Moses, leading the modern spiritual children of Israel into the Heavenly Canaan.

"Like the Jews, many have closed their eyes lest they should see; but there is as great peril now, in closing the eyes to light, and in walking apart from Christ, feeling need of nothing, as there was when he was upon earth." {RH, Aug. 26, 1890}. "A clear conception of what God is, and what He requires us to be, will give us humble views of self." {RH June 2, 1896} "The same arguments are still urged against all who dare to present, in opposition to established errors, the plain and direct teachings of God's word." {GC p. 148} "I saw that the strength of the children of God is in their humility. When they are little in their own eyes, Jesus will be to them their strength and their righteousness, and God will prosper their labors." 3 Testimonies p. 307

And there's LOTS of fig leaves needed to cover nakedness? "Naked" means to be WITHOUT GOD.

"The fig leaves represent the arguments used to cover disobedience." Manuscript Releases Volume Twenty-one [Nos. 1501-1598], p. 193.4

"I saw those who have been baptized as a door into the churches, would have to be baptized again as a door into the faith. Those who have not been baptized since 1844 will have to be before Jesus comes. And some I saw would not make progress till the duty was performed." Spalding and Magan Collection, p. 3.8

"You are getting the coming of the Lord too far off. I saw the latter rain was coming as [suddenly as] the midnight cry, and with ten times the power." Spalding and Magan Collection, p. 2.1

I have a deep interest for every individual who is now making decisions to obey the word of the Lord. It is not the will or word of man that is to be received and believed, it is a “Thus saith the Lord.” The controversy is with the Lord. 21MR 193.1

Satan will use every subtle argument to deceive men and women as he did in Eden to deceive Adam and Eve. A lie will be made to appear a very desirable fact. “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” Satan said to Eve: [Genesis 3:2-5, quoted]. 21MR 193.2

Adam and Eve both ate of the fruit and obtained a knowledge, which, had they obeyed God, they would never have had—an experience in disobedience and disloyalty to God—the knowledge that they were naked. The garments of innocence, the presence of light which surrounded them, a covering from God, had departed. They supplied the place of the heavenly garments by sewing together fig leaves for aprons. 21MR 193.3

This is the covering that all who have transgressed the law of God have used since the days of Adam and Eve’s disobedience. They have sewn together fig leaves to cover their nakedness caused by transgression and sin. The fig leaves represent the arguments used to cover disobedience. When the Lord calls the attention of men and women to the truth, the making of fig leavesinto aprons will commence in order to hide the nakedness of the soul of every transgressor. 21MR 193.4

The Lord Jesus Christ has prepared a covering, the robe of His own righteousness, that He will put on every repenting, believing soul who by faith will receive it. Said John, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” Sin is the transgression of the law. Christ died to make it possible for every man to have his sins taken away. 21MR 193.5

A fig-leaf apron will never cover our nakedness. Sin must be taken away, and the garment of Christ’s righteousness must cover the transgressor of God’s law. Then when the Lord looks upon the believing sinner, He sees, not the fig leaves covering him, but Christ’s own robe of righteousness, which is perfect obedience to the law of Jehovah. Man has hidden his nakedness, not 21MR 193.6

Hope has been set before us, even the hope of Eternal Life. Nothing short of this Blessing for us will satisfy our Redeemer; but it is our part to lay hold upon this hope by faith in Him Who has promised. We may expect to suffer; for it is those who are partakers with him in his sufferings, who shall be partakers with him in his glory. He has purchased forgiveness and immortality for the sinful, perishing souls of men; but it is our part to receive these gifts by faithBelieving in Him, we have this hope as an anchor of the soul, sure and steadfast. We are to understand that we may confidently expect God's favor not only in this world, but in the heavenly world, since He paid such a price for our Salvation (deliverance, freedom, rescue, healing and to make whole again) !

Faith in the atonement (to make one again) and intercession of Christ will keep us steadfast and immovable amid the temptations that press upon us in the church militant. Let us contemplate the glorious hope that is set before us, and by faith lay hold upon it.

We must not permit Satan to cast his hellish shadow athwart our pathway, and accomplish his purpose of eclipsing the bright views of our future reward. Let us not look upon his shadow of darkness . We gain heaven not through our own merits, but through the merits (value, worthiness) of Jesus Christ. We cannot find Salvation in our own individual selves; we are to look unto Jesus, Who is the Author and Finisher of our faith, and as we look, we live!

Shall we not give up our sinsand let them go? Shall we not turn from them and hate them, and still remember that Christ regards His human agents as of great value? We cannot calculate the estimate placed upon the soul. Then take your eyes off yourself, and encourage hope and confidence in Christ. Let your hope not be centered in yourself, but in Him Who has entered within the vail (ref: Hebrews 10:16-20, 4:16, 6:17-20, 9:8-12).

Our hope of Salvation (deliverance, freedom, rescue, healing, restoration) is an anchor to the soul, both sure and steadfast, when it entereth into that which is within the vail. Anchored in Christ, the soul, like a ship amid the raging elements, tempest-tossed and driven, is immovable. It is not driven on the rocks or drawn into the whirlpool.

"Wherefore didst thou doubt?" said Christ to the sinking Peter. The same question may be addressed to usWhy do we dishonor God with our shameful unbelief? The Lord has pledged Himself to give us strength to enable us to stand.

As we search the Scriptures, we find ground for confidence, provision for sufficiency. It is our privilege to say boldly, yet humbly, The Lord is my helper, therefore I shall not be moved from my steadfastness. My life is hid with Christ in God. Because He lives, I shall live also

Let us not think that Jesus is the Saviour of some one else, but that He is our personal friend. Entertain the precious thought that Jesus loves me. In this way the cloud of despondency and gloom will be rolled back from the soul, and we shall be enabled to make melody in our hearts unto God. We may triumph in the Lord, every day acknowledging the fact that our heavenly treasure, our everlasting portion, is sure to us through the atonement and righteousness of Jesus Christ. Believing this ourselves, we shall be able to aid others to see that their only help is in God, and encourage them to flee for refuge to Christ, laying hold on the hope set before us in the gospel!" - Review & Herald, June 9, 1896

If we are to put God first in our lives/marriages, should not our questions be, Who IS God? Who IS Jesus?

God desires that we have a monogamous relationship, a covenant relationship with Him. He desires that we consecrate ourselves to Him. He is jealous for us. We are to focus on the things that have eternal value because to Him we have eternal value. He wants us to store up our treasures in heaven because He can protect them until our time comes and if our treasures are in heaven so too will be our hearts. If we store up a good foundation, we can lay hold of eternal life. Our commitment to live by His Word and Spirit in the example of Jesus Christ will be rewarded by His promise of eternal glory. He maintains us.

God desires that we believe in Him, that we trust in Him and His promises. His perfect love has cast out fear. All of our faith will be placed in His hands for the purpose of progressing His kingdom and His will and to stand as evidence of His victory. Our faith is the confident expectation of our hope in Him. He expects that in all things we seek His purpose and His will and give all our worries to Him. He protects us and cares for us.

But it was not merely to accomplish the redemption of man that Christ came to the earth to suffer and to die. He came to "magnify the law" and to "make it honorable." Not alone that the inhabitants of this world might regard the law as it should be regarded; but it was to demonstrate to all the worlds of the universe that God’s law is unchangeable. Could its claims have been set aside, then the Son of God need not have yielded up His life to atone for its transgression. The death of Christ proves it immutable. And the sacrifice to which infinite love impelled the Father and the Son, that sinners might be redeemed, demonstrates to all the universe—what nothing less than this plan of atonement could have sufficed to do—that justice and mercy are the foundation of the law and government of God.

Isaiah 8:20 = To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them.

Jeremiah 6:16 This is what the LORD says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, 'We will not walk in it.'

Micah 3:6 Therefore night will come over you, without visions, and darkness, without divination. The sun will set for the prophets, and the day will go dark for them.

Psalm 78:5 He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children,

Christ is called the faithful and true Witness in contrast to the church in Laodicea (Laodicea=SDA Corp & Philadelphia=Zion/144,000 final true church) which was neither faithful nor true. Christ had been earlier introduced as “the faithful witness” in 1:5 and as “he that is true” in 3:7. The fact that Christ is both a faithful and a true witness gives special solemnity to the words which follow.

Finally, He is described as “the beginning of the creation of God.” As “the beginning” (Gr., arche), He is not the first of creation but He is before all creation.

As Alford observes, arche„ out of this context could possibly mean “that Christ is the first created being: see Gen. 49:3; Deut. 21:17; and Prov. 8:22.” While some took it this way, the whole context of Revelation indicates that Christ is appointed to be a God, equal with His Father GOD, the Son of the eternal, immortal Creator rather than a created being. As Alford states, “In Him the whole creation of God is begun and conditioned: He is its source and primary fountain-head.”

Who IS God? Who IS the God we should worship?

Is Jesus God’s Son?

1. This question goes beyond the mere usage of words. There is Son and there is son. Son by title (or mere designation) is not the same as son by adoption; neither of which are the same as son by creation; and none of the above are the same as Son - only begotten.

2. This question goes to the heart of all that is professed as Christianity. The Christian gospel declares that God so loved... that He gave His only begotten Son (John 3:16). The measure of God’s love for humanity is manifested in the gift of His only begotten Son (1John 4:9). If, therefore, Jesus Christ is not, truly, the only begotten Son of God, then God did not sacrifice as much as is presented to us; and if He did not sacrifice as much, then , He did not so love after all.

3. So critical is this issue that it determines who is antichrist. "He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son." 1 John 2:22.

4. The Scriptures are absolutely clear that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. Jesus declared "I proceeded forth and came from God." John 8: 42. Of Christ, "the wisdom of God" (1 Cor. 1:24) it is also declared: "The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way.... When there were no depths, I was brought forth.... Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him. Prov. 8:22-24, 30.

5. The vast majority of professed Christians deny that Jesus Christ was truly begotten of God before He came into the world as a babe. By the belief that God is a Trinitypersons deny that Jesus Christ is the begotten Son of God and that JEHOVAH is the Father of Jesus Christ.

6. Prophets of the Bible have referred to the Father as "the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Pet. 1:3; 2 Cor. 11:31).

7. The Trinity declares that there is one God, a single Being who is simultaneously Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This idea immediately creates confusion as to who is the God that gave His Son and who was the Son that was given. Indeed, it raises a question as to whether it was really a Son that was given. This is nothing else but "denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ" (Jude 4) against which we have been warned.

8. Furthermore, if God is a Trinity and Jesus Christ is, therefore, himself the Supreme Being or he is co-equal with the Supreme Being, then it implies that Jesus did not truly die. The Supreme Being is described as the one "Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see." 1Tim. 6:15,16. If such applied to Jesus then he did not truly die, but was very much alive while foisting a delusion on humanity, thus making all our professions about the death and resurrection of Christ mere vanity and illusion.

9. The Bible is clear as to who is the One God. "But to us there is but one God, the Father" (1 Cor. 8:6).

10. The Bible is clear as to who is the only begotten Son of the One God; "and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ" (1 John 1:3).

11. The Bible is clear that the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, is related to God in the same way that the spirit of man is related to man; "For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God" (1 Cor. 2:11). The Holy Spirit is therefore not an inanimate force; neither is the Holy Spirit a distinct and separate consciousness from JEHOVAH Himself. Rather, the Holy Spirit is an integral aspect of JEHOVAH’S own being. Hence, when one grieves the Holy Spirit, it is JEHOVAH Himself that is grieved and not someone else.

12. The Bible is clear as to who are the only two Beings in the universe to whom worship is due; "And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it." Rev. 21:22. It is clear that the Lord God Almighty is not the same Being as the Lamb, even though the Lamb is worshipped alongside the Lord God Almighty. The reason for this is that the Lamb is the only begotten Son of the Lord God Almighty and it is the will of the Father that His Son should likewise be worshipped; John 5:22, 23.

13. JEHOVAH is divine. His only begotten Son could not be other than divine also. "……the great mistake of Trinitarians, in arguing this subject is this: they make no distinction between a denial of a Trinity and a denial of the divinity of Christ. They see only the two extremes, between which the truth lies; and take every expression referring to the pre-existence of Christ as evidence of a Trinity. The Scriptures abundantly teach the pre-existence of Christ and his divinity; but they are entirely silent in regard to a trinity" - J.H. Waggoner, Review and Herald. Nov.10, 1863.

14. God has used what is undoubtedly one of the closest and most endearing of human relationships - that of parent and offspring - to define the relationship between Himself and His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. But human beings have presumptuously undertaken to speculate in relation to God, describing the relationship as a Trinity and promulgating such human philosophy as giving a more accurate description than that which God himself has chosen to give. In the process the gospel of salvation is distorted and made obscure.

15. It is only a degraded concept of JEHOVAH that leads individuals to think that it is somehow demeaning to Jesus Christ to be the literal Son of the Supreme Being.

16. The Bible is clear that even after an end is put to sin "then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all." 1Cor. 15:28.

17. Must the selflessness and benevolence of the Great JEHOVAH in exalting His Son to full equality with Himself, giving Him a place on His own throne (Rev. 3:21), giving Him all authority and power (Matt. 28:18) and giving Him JEHOVAH’S own name (Ex. 23:20, 21; Phil. 2:9; Heb.1:4) ) be used as a means of detracting from JEHOVAH in declaring that Jesus Christ is too exalted to be JEHOVAH’S own Son? God forbid! Such is the highest evidence that God is love (1 John 4:8), because it is out of love for His own Son that He has done all this. Yet He has spared not His own Son, but has delivered Him up for us all (Rom. 8:32), because of His great love for us also, that we might be adopted as sons and daughters of His, to be joint heirs with His only begotten Son (Rom. 8:17). Marvel 0 heavens!

18. Jesus Christ is indeed worthy of adoration and honour because, while he could have perverted His powers and endowments as Lucifer did, He did not. He has humbled Himself and submitted to His Father without reserve, being drawn to love His Father even more. Jesus Christ is truly great, and His greatness is most evident in His submission to His Father. Only a true Son would so single-heartedly love, adore and submit to His Father in the face of His Father so unselfishly and unreservedly exalting Him.

19. Jesus is truly the Son of God. Upon this rock the Church is built and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Matt. 16:16-18. "Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?" 1 John 5:5.

20. Be not deceived. Our assurance that God loves us is that God gave His only begotten Son whom He loves, in order to save us. "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" Rom. 8:32. God has even offered to make us partakers of the divine nature (2 Pet. 1:4) by offering us His Holy Spirit, an integral aspect of JEHOVAH’S own Being. What marvellous love ! As the songwriter says "Love so amazing, so divine, demands my life, my soul, my all"

The Bible talks about Jesus in Daniel 7:14 "He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed."

The Truth About God

In an attempt to study a subject like this one there are two basic facts we need to bear in mind. The first is  that the Bible, the Holy Scriptures, are the words of God, and are referred to more specifically as, "The written word." The second fact is that Jesus is also called "The Word" (John. 1:1,2,14) and He is referred to more specifically as "The Living Word."

With these two basic facts in mind. Let us look at the deeper aspects of what God has revealed to us about Himself in His own inspired word (2 Tim. 3:16).

In Mark 12:28 the Bible tells of a scribe who came to Jesus with a question. His question was simply this: "Which is the greatest commandment of all?" Jesus responded to his question by quoting Deuteronomy 6:4. In verse 29 Jesus answered him this way:

‘The first of all the commandments is, hear O Israel the Lord our God is one Lord."

Having heard this answer, the scribe said to Jesus,

"Well Master Thou hast said the truth, for there is one God and there is none other but He."

(Mark 12:32)

Jesus said of His Heavenly Father that He was ‘ONE’ singular, and the scribe said He was absolutely correct.

In His last prayer recorded by John in the 17th chapter of the book of John, Jesus made the same declaration, listen to what He said in verse 3:- "And this is Life eternal that they might know Thee the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent." Jesus did not refer to Himself as God, did He? Jesus called HIS Heavenly Father the ONLY true God, didn’t He? And Jesus made a distinction between Himself and the only true God, didn’t He? Sure He did!

In Matt 19:16,17 there was a rich young ruler who wanted to know what to do to get eternal life so he came to Jesus and he did not call Him by His earthly name. Let’s see how he greeted Jesus, and how Jesus responded. "And behold one came and said unto him, Good Master..." What did he call Jesus? Sure! "GOOD MASTER." And what was Jesus’ response? He (Jesus) said unto him, "why callest Thou me good? There is none good but One that is God!"

This question may really sound strange but let’s answer it anyway. If a couple means two how many does ONE mean? You are probably thinking how strange that question is. One is one, and it cannot be anymore. Right?

Some time ago back in the Old Testament the children of Israel were held as slaves in Egypt for about four hundred years. They were living right in the heart of pagan sun worship, and this corrupted their true concept of God. After delivering them from the Egyptian bondage God had to deal with one of the most insidious falsehoods ever fostered on mankind. So from the top of Mount Sinai He thundered down this command in Loud and clear tones. "Thou shalt have no other Gods before ME." What was the very Last word in that statement! Sure it is "ME" – singular. Read it carefully and make sure it does not say "US" plural.

It is a known fact that the Egyptians were pagan sun worshippers and under the leadership of Nimrod the grandson of Noah they built a city called Babylon (Babel). Nimrod got the people to love him and eventually to worship him as god. His wife Semiramis and her son Tammuz were also worshipped. They were worshipped together as the ‘Heavenly Trio.’ So God had an important message for His people. As they stood at the foot of the mount He told them they had one God and one God only.

Before his death. Moses gathered all the people together and like a father speaking to his children, Moses told them that there was only one way that they could have a long, happy and prosperous life. In Deuteronomy 6:4,5 he says this,

"Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord, and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul and with all thy might."

Moses wanted the people to understand that our heavenly Father is to get the major portion of our love and affections in order that we may be happy and prosperous. Thus a full understanding of who God is, is very important. Remember the scribe in Mark 12? When Jesus heard his testimony about God, He said to him "Thou art not far from the Kingdom of God." (vs 34) – Likewise in His last prayer in John 17:3, the Lord tells us that eternal life hangs upon our concept of God and our acceptance of Him. In other words it is more than a matter of simply losing your life, here and now. It is a matter of either living eternally or not ever existing again,

Paul understood the truth of scripture that there is only one God, so in writing to the Corinthians, he said this:

"But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things and we in Him, and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by Him"

(1 Cor. 8:6)

In his letter to Timothy Paul says this:

"Now unto the King eternal , immortal invisible, the only wise God, be glory and honour forever and ever amen."

(1 Tim 1:17) He also stated in 1 Tim. 2:5:-

"For them is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

In writing to the Christians at Ephesus Paul told them the same truth about the Father. In Ephesians 4:4–6 he says this:

"There is one body and one spirit even as you are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, ONE GOD and Father of all who is above all and through all and in you all."

Do you know why we have been looking at these Biblical statements? In order for you to grasp the tremendous significance of this widely accepted falsehood, that there are three Gods in one and one God in three. Can you see that it is a concrete fact that our heavenly Father is the foremost being in the entire universe? He is the one supreme Being and from Him comes all life and force. The Bible tells us that God the Father is the only true God... period!

What about Jesus, Who is He?

Let us see the answer God has already given us in one New Testament statement. You will find it in Matt. 3:16,17.

"And Jesus when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water and lo the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon Him and a voice from heaven saying this is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased."

Who did God say Jesus was! Sure, His Son, right? God’s word has a lot to say about Christ’s true relationship to God. Probably one of the most familiar and most quoted verses in the Bible is John 3:16. Before you start to quote it look at it again and particularly one crucial phrase we usually skim over:

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only BEGOTTEN SON. . ." In the original language from which the Bible was translated, the word translated as only begotten also means "only offspring" or "only."

Thus Jesus was the only offspring or seed of God! In the 5th Chapter of John. Jesus says this of Himself in vs. 36:

"1 have greater witness than that of John (the baptist) for the works which the Father has given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me that the Father hath sent me."

He made the same claim He made in vs. 30, which is, "the Father hath sent me."

In the 14th chapter of John. Jesus spake of His departure from this world and His return again. Look at what He says in vs 28:

"ye have heard how I said to you, l go away and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I go unto the Father: For My Father is greater than I."

Add to that what He said in John 14:10:

"I speak not of Myself; but the Father that dwelleth in me. He doeth the work."

Did you grasp those amazing claims Jesus just made? He said that He spoke only the things His heavenly Father taught Him. Another time He said He could do nothing of Himself. But the most amazing thing He said was that the Father was dwelling in Him while He was here on earth!

GOD’S SPIRIT WAS IN HIM!!!

In the divine program and government of God there is an unmistakable chain of command. Unquestionably, God our heavenly Father reigns supreme, and our Lord Jesus Christ stands next to Him. Jesus said, "For my Father is greater than I."

There are two superimportant passages we must Examine before we go any further, because they show clearly when Jesus was brought forth and when He was crowned as equal to God. The first passage is found in the New Testament in Heb. 1:1-5. See if you can picture this overwhelming scene.

"God who at sundry (various) times and in divers (different) manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, By whom also He made the worlds (Look at this next statement); who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person (He looked just like His Father), and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they (God gave His Son an inheritance isn’t that great! Lets see What that inheritance was). For unto which of the angels said He at any time, thou art my son, this DAY have I BEGOTTEN thee?"

Just think beloved that there was a certain specific day when God brought forth His Son .... Way, way back (even though it is impossible to think back that far into the past) God brought forth His Son! There was a time when Christ was not in existence! Way back at sometime far beyond our comprehension and imagination Christ Jesus issued forth from God the Father. Amazing isn’t it,

Continuing with the questions. This question was asked in vs. 6.

"And again I will be to Him a Father and He shall be to Me a Son. And again when he bringeth in the FIRST BEGOTTEN into the world He saith and let all the angels of God worship Him."

At a specific point in time, God the Father brought His Son Christ Jesus right beside Him and told all the angels that now Christ was to be worshipped like Himself. This is proclaiming Christ as Divine and worthy of praise and adoration. Therefore there was a point and time when Christ was set up as equal divinity. Vs. 8 makes this clear: "But unto His Son He saith Thy throne 0 God is forever and ever." It will last forever. Isn’t it amazing how we read something in scripture that was always there and when the truth of it reaches you, it seems new?

There is an astonishing Old Testament passage that is almost a perfect parallel to what we just read in Heb. 1, only this passage goes on to tell us when these thing happened to Christ Jesus. That passage is found in Prov. 8:22-30. Here is what it says,

"The Lord (God the Father) possessed me in the beginning of His way before His works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was"

When did the Father set His Son before the angels of heaven and all the unfallen Universe and tell them that He was now to be worshipped like He Himself was? Sure! Before the earth was created. Let’s continue and we will see this clearly.

"When there was no depths (of the sea) I was brought forth: when there was no fountains (rivers and lakes) abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, was I brought forth."

That is quite clear isn’t it? It was before the creation of the earth. As we read on it becomes more evident that it was before planet earth and our solar system were created.

"While as yet He had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest parts of the dust of the world, when He prepared the heavens (surrounding our planet) I was there. When He set a compass upon the face of the deep, when he established the clouds above, when He strengthened the fountains of the deep; when He gave to the sea His decree, that the waters should not pass His commandment; when We appointed the foundations of the earth: then I was by Him, (watch this) as one brought up with Him and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him." (Prov. 8:22-31)

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ declares that He existed before He came to this earth. We know that, because He said so several times in the New Testament. But in this passage He takes us back to the time He was BEGOTTEN. Look again at what He said:

"Then I was by Him as one brought up with Him and I was daily His delight rejoicing always before Him."

God’s word establishes the fact that there is only one supreme being. One God over and above all. It clearly tells us that God brought forth a Son and He came into being through His Father’s omnipotent miraculous powers. Therefore the Son has not been in existence as long as His Father, because naturally the Father is always older than His Son.

THE MISSING THIRD PERSON

To come to a full understanding of this tremendous truth, that God is inspiring humans to re-discover in these closing days of time, Let’s look first at a strange and puzzling revelation. In Matt 25:31 Jesus says:

"When the Son of man shall come in all His glory and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory."

Add to that text Rev 3:21 which says,

"To Him that overcometh will 1 grant to sit with Me in My throne even as I also overcame and am set down with My Father in His throne"

So far you have seen that God has a throne and His Son has a throne. NO ONE ELSE!!

There are two reminders of this fact in the last book of the Bible, Revelation. In chapter 21:22, 23 we read:

"And 1 saw no temple therein for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb (Jesus Christ) are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun neither of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God did lighten it and the Lamb is the light thereof."

There was no temple, sun or moon, because God and His Son were there! Of course you will realize that the term Lamb is a symbolic term for Jesus who was slain as a lamb for you and me. OK! In Rev. 22:1,3 John says:

"And he showed me a pure river of water of life clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. And there shall be no more curse; but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it."

This is so strange at first because there is nowhere in the entire Bible that tells of any one else having a throne in heaven but God and His Son!! Then it is even more strange when you cannot find any dignitaries on the new earth except God, His Son, the faithful angels and the redeemed. There is someone missing, Isn’t there? I mean if the doctrine of the Trinity is correct, then there must be another throne for the third God or even if He doesn’t have a throne He should even be mentioned as being in heaven or on the new earth!!

According to the scripture Satan has always wanted to be leader in heaven and in all the universe. God quoted Lucifer’s evil ambitions in Isaiah 14:14, "1 will be Like the Most High." And one of the most dangerous blasphemous Lies ever to be fostered on the unsuspecting people of planet earth is the one designed to place Satan in that position where he fulfills his obsessions to be like God! Let me explain: When the Roman Catholic church made real compromises with the pagan Romans, in order to get them to become Christians they allowed those sun worshippers to became members and still cling to their beliefs. Gradually the church changed many of its own beliefs and modified them so the pagan worshippers would be more comfortable. One of the most drastic alterations of true Christianity was the acceptance of the pagan concept of three Gods in one and one God in three persons. The sun worshippers had Nimrod, Semiramis and Tammuz, as a pagan Trinity, so it was easy for them to accept, God the Father, God the Son, and (Watch this) God the Holy Spirit!!! Satan had a trinity and now the Catholic Church has a trinity which she has established in every denomination and religious body.

Nowhere in scripture will you find it even hinting that there are three separate distinct Gods. The Bible does not suggest that there were three individuals involved in the creation of the world! John 1:10 and Heb. 1:2 and many other passages makes it clear that there were two and just two: God the Father and Jesus Christ His Son.

If that sounds really wayout, then let’s consider the facts. The book is St. John and the place is chapter 14. May I say this is one of the most reassuring statements Jesus made to us before He left earth to go back to heaven. In this passage Jesus said some things that the vast majority of Christians have missed for centuries! John 14:16 reads this way,

"And I will pray the Father and He will give you another Comforter that He may abide with you forever."

Who did Jesus say will live with us forever? Was it the Comforter, or was it Christ, the Comforter, lets see the answer. Vs. 17.

"Even the Spirit of Truth: whom the world cannot receive because it seeth Him not neither knoweth Him. But ye know him, for (or because) He dwelleth with you (present) and shall be in you (future)."

Wait a minute! Did you see that friend? Who did the disciples know then? Pentecost had not yet come. Who was dwelling with them? Wasn’t it Jesus? Sure it was! Now if that is not clear enough, look at verse 18: "I will not leave you comfortless. I will come to you." Man that’s strong!!! Now you see, don’t you? Jesus said He would be the Comforter. Thus the Comforter would simply be the INVISIBLE CHRIST that would be in them.

The reason why the Bible speaks of Jesus and the Holy Ghost as one, and the same, is because they are really the same. Here is further proof. In Hebrews 3:7-11, you will find the same author talking about the Holy Ghost leading the children of Israel through the wilderness. Yet you know that it was Jesus Christ. Paul goes on to quote Jesus and contributes it to the Holy Spirit. In Romans 8:9 Paul brings out a stunning truth. Here it is:

"But ye art not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the SPIRIT OF GOD dwell in you. Now if any man have not the SPIRIT OF CHRIST he is none of His."

God’s word said that the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ are the same.

Because of this fact an amazing explanation explodes before us. The reason why we find the term "Holy Spirit" is simply because God and Christ Jesus are Holy. It is their Spirit, so you have the term "Holy Spirit". Remember John 20:22? Jesus came to His disciples and did something. Let us see what He did:

"And when He (Jesus) had said this. He breathed on them (the disciples) and said receive ye the Holy Ghost."

They did receive Christ’s Spirit, didn’t they! David asked the Lord a question and went on to answer. In Psalm 139:7-10 you’ll find this recorded:

"Whither shall I go from Thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from Thy presence?"

David said the Lord’s Spirit is the same as His presence.

"If I ascend up into heaven thou art there; If I make my bed in hell behold thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there shall Thy hand lead me and thy right hand shall hold me."

Therefore the Spirit of God is His real, tangible, personal presence.

In Jeremiah 23:23,24 God says He can be right here with us in a personal way and be in heaven, all at the same time.

"Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? Saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? Saith the Lord."

Therefore, God can pour out His Spirit on any believer anywhere in the entire universe. His Spirit guides, impresses and convicts human beings just as strongly as if He were present physically and visibly.

All through the scriptures we read of the Spirit of God and of the Spirit of Christ. If the Holy Spirit was a real tangible God as the Father and His Son, why do we not read of the Spirit of the Spirit? Think about that!!!

Therefore the disciples could not realize the presence of the Holy Spirit as long as Jesus was with them. But when He went away, the Spirit came. This made Jesus present with everyone everywhere. Jesus could now be with one individual in one city, and with another believer in another city in another country all at the same time. Let me put it another way. Christ Jesus is our personal Saviour. Where ever we may be He will go with us. He is also the Comforter He promised to send to us from the Father. Only it is another form of Himself.

Satan through the Catholic Church has sold to the world a counterfeit sanctuary service; a counterfeit salvation and a counterfeit holy day of rest and worship. DON’T LET HIM SELL YOU A COUNTERFEIT COMFORTER !!! And don’t sell yourself out to him through the false doctrine of the TRINITY.

THE GODHEAD

By now you probably have seen enough Bible facts to have a solid foundation of faith, and you probably have also come to the realization that there is absolutely no such doctrine as the "TRINITY" in the Bible. So then you are now ready to discover the truth about a widely used term "THE GODHEAD." In the entire Bible you’ll find this word mentioned just three times. Let’s look at all three briefly.

The first is Acts 17:29.

"For as much then as we are the offspring of God we ought not to think that the GODHEAD is like unto gold, or silver, or stone graven by art and man’s device."

The second is Romans 1:20.

"For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made even His eternal power and GODHEAD."

The third is Col. 2:9.

"For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the GODHEAD bodily."

Now please answer this question. Were those passages talking about three Gods in one and one God in three? Before you answer, examine this fact: In each one of those passages where the word GODHEAD is found, it comes from the Greek root word THEOS. And THEOS simply means Divinity, Divine, Divine Nature, or Deity. From this word THEOS, we get the word theology which means the study of Divinity. When you examine those three verses you find that they are all talking about God, the Father, the Supreme Deity. And the plain simple truth is that the Father is the GODHEAD. That’s what Paul says in 1 Cor. 11:3.

"But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ and the head of the woman is the man, and (Watch this) the HEAD OF CHRIST IS GOD."

Therefore God the Father is the Godhead. His Divinity dwells in Christ.

Thus the plan of salvation can be summed up in two scripture passages.

The first is 2 Cor. 5:19

". . .God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself."

The second Col. 1:27

" ... Christ in you the hope of glory."

Beloved you are faced with a decision of eternal consequences. Will you obey the word of God or the word of man? Surely you will accept the word of God and reject this false satan-inspired, man-made Trinity doctrine. WONT YOU?

Putting the pieces together Third Person of the Godhead

Third Person of the Godhead

“Putting The Pieces Together” article.

third person of the GodheadThe prince of the power of evil can only be held in check by the power of God in the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit.–Special Testimonies, Series A, No. 10, p. 37. (1897) {Evangelism, p. 617}

The “third person of the Godhead” does not mean a third person in the Godhead. The “third person of the Godhead” was understood by Ellen White to be none other than the glorified life of Christ (His very own life), not another individual being different to Christ and the Father. Only this life of Christ can give us victory over sin (no one else in the universe can do it). This she calls the “third person of the Godhead.” When we follow the divine instruction and make use of the key for the Testimonies many misunderstandings will be resolved. The expression “third person of the Godhead” is today explained by many to mean a third individual god-being equal to the Father and Son. Let us allow the prophet (rather than anyone else) to explain to us what she meant by that expression. This is the safest thing to do if we truly desire to know the truth.

Who is the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead?

Christ tells us that the Holy Spirit is the Comforter, and the Comforter is the Holy Ghost, “the Spirit of truth, which the Father shall send in My name.” … This refers to the omnipresence of the Spirit of Christ, called the Comforter. {E. G. White, Manuscript Releases Vol.14, p. 179}

Now let us read a similar statement with more context around it:

The Spirit was given as a regenerating agency, and without this the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail. The power of evil had been strengthening for centuries, and the submission of man to this satanic captivity was amazing. Sin could be resisted and overcome only through the mighty agency of the third person of the Godhead, who would come with no modified energy, but in the fullness of divine power. It is the Spirit that makes effectual what has been wrought out by the world’s Redeemer. It is by the Spirit that the heart is made pure. Through the Spirit the believer becomes a partaker of the divine nature. Christ has given his Spirit as a divine power to overcome all hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil, and to impress his own character upon the church.{E. G. White, Review and Herald, May 19, 1904 par. 3}

Christ’s spirit is a divine power. It is “His own character” (His own life) not a different person to Him. What is the only power that can break the hold of evil from our hearts?

Our condition through sin has become preternatural, and the power that restores us must be supernatural, else it has no value. There is but one power that can break the hold of evil from the hearts of men, and that is the power of God in Jesus Christ. {E. G. White, Testimonies Volume 8, p. 291}

“The divine Spirit that the world’s Redeemer promised to send is the presence and power of God. {E. G. White, ST November 23, 1891, par. 1Ye Shall Receive Power, p. 39.5}

"The Holy Spirit is the Spirit OF God; it is also the Spirit OF Christ." U. Smith, GC. Daily Bulletin Vol. 4, March 14,1891, pp. 146,147

"Here we find that the Holy Spirit is both the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ." E.J. Waggoner, Christ and His Righteousness, p. 23. 1890

"We learn from this language that when we speak of the Spirit of God, we are really speaking of his presence and power." J.N. Loughborough, Review and Herald, September 13,1898

"In giving us His Spirit, God gives us Himself."-Testimonies, Vol. 7, p. 273.

If Christ be IN us, we are partakers of the DIVINE NATURE of GOD Himself! The Holy Spirit is come INTO us - which is God sent through Christ (their power (character) becomes our power (character)) BOTH living inside us. When we ask HimJesus imparts the Holy Spirit (God Himself, his Divine Influences and power (character) -God IS a Spirit) to us

'The Holy Spirit is the breath of spiritual life in the soul. The impartation of the Spirit is the impartation of the life of Christ.' It (GOD the Father's own Spirit=Himself) thus makes Christ everywhere present." (Psalm 139:7)

Therefore, the power of God, which is in Christ, is present in the third person. It is Christ and His power in the third person of the Godhead. It is not another person in the Godhead, no, it is the third person of (not in) the Godhead.

There must be a power working from within, a new life from above, before men can be changed from sin to holiness. That power is Christ. His grace alone can quicken the lifeless faculties of the soul, and attract it to God, to holiness. {E. G. White, Steps to Christ, p. 18}

Christ declared that after his ascension, he would send to his church, as his crowning gift, the Comforter, who was to take his place. This Comforter is the Holy Spirit,–the soul of his life, the efficacy of his church, the light and life of the worldWith his Spirit Christ sends a reconciling influence and a power that takes away sin. {E. G. White, Review and Herald, May 19, 1904 par. 1}

Notice now how clearly she says that the life of Christ is what helps us resist temptation. The life of Christ is His spirit (not someone else!). This is the Comforter, this is the Holy Spirit, and this is what is called the “third person of the Godhead.”

“The only defense against evil is the indwelling of Christ in the heart through faith in His righteousness.” {E. G. White, The Desire of Ages, p. 324}

Not until the life of Christ becomes a vitalizing power in our lives can we resist the temptations that assail us from within and from without. {E. G. White, The Ministry of Healing, p. 130}

This life of Christ is a holy, spotless, blameless life. Since life is the spirit (John 6:63), therefore this holy life of Christ is His Holy Spirit!

Christ is the source of every right impulse. He is the only one who can arouse in the natural heart enmity against sinHe is the source of our power if we would be saved. No soul can repent without the grace of Christ. The sinner may pray that he may know how to repent. God reveals Christ to the sinner, and when he sees the purity of the Son of God, he is not ignorant of the character of sin. By faith in the work and power of Christ, enmity against sin and Satan is created in his heart. {E. G. White, Review and Herald, April 1, 1890 par. 5}

“The Holy Spirit, which proceeds from the only begotten Son of God, binds the human agent, body, soul, and spirit, to the perfect, divine-human nature of Christ. {E. G. White, Review and Herald, April 5, 1906 par. 16}

From the Bible we should have known this fact already from (Acts 3:26).

Therefore, if the power of evil can be held in check only by the power of God in the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit, and it is Jesus who turns away every one of us from his iniquities (evil), then it is an obvious conclusion that Jesus aids us in this battle by giving us his very own holy life, his very own Holy Spirit (not another being different to Him). This Holy life of Christ is termed “the third person of the Godhead.”

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS TO DWELL INSIDE US and SURROUNDING US. THIS IS WHAT THE HOLY SPIRIT IS:

"Our condition through sin is unnatural, and the power that restores us must be supernatural, else it has no value. There is but One Power (character) that can break the hold of evil from the hearts of men, and that is the power (character Gal 5:23-24) of God in Jesus ChristOnly through the blood of the Crucified One is there cleansing from sinHis Grace alone can enable us to resist and subdue the tendencies of our fallen nature !" - Ministry of Healing p. 428

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." II Cor. 3:17.

Scripture says that there is but ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT:

Hbr 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

1Cr 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

1Cr 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Eph 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

"The Holy Spirit is the breath of spiritual life in the soul. The impartation of the Spirit is the impartation of the life of Christ. It imbues the receiver with the attributes of Christ. Only those who are thus taught of God, those who possess the inward working of the Spirit, and in whose life the Christ-life is manifested, are to stand as representative men, to minister in behalf of the church." Desire of Ages, 805.

Christ IMPARTS His Father's characteristics (power)/presence (a Holy ETERNAL Spirit) through Himself to us - Christ is our doorway back to God - the Holy Spirit IS  "God's" presence and POWER (characteristics/qualifications) - sent to us through the "door" or "Christ" = "our only mediator" you see - if we do not "get" this - we miss out on becoming Overcomers or Saints - because this is the ONLY thing we take to Heaven with us IS our character (thoughts and feelings - a "right Spirit" that transforms us into God's Character by Jesus giving us the Father's character/power embodied by the Father's Law (Ten Commandments) Gal 5:23-24.

(characteristics/qualifications="power" received from God through Christ)
A quality or accomplishment that makes someone suitable for a particular job or activity. We become qualified to do this through Christ: "they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. Revelation 7:15

Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Look! God's dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.

Who is Telling the Truth About God?

Who is Telling the Truth About God give extensive evidence from the Scriptures regarding the doctrine of God. This is followed with comparative statements from Ellen G. White, the early Adventists pioneers, and contrasting statements from the present S.D.A. Church, independent ministries, and the Catholic Church. This is a great document for Bible reference and source material.

Are You an evolutionist?

A.T. Jones
The following article is an extract from a sermon prepared by A.T. Jones for the Week of Prayer meetings of 1899. It was published in the Review and Herald of Feb. 21, 1899. We encourage you to read the message in its entirety.

============================

From what I have read, you see that whoever lets any time pass between the word spoken and the thing done, is an evolutionist. The word of God to you is, Man, "thy sins are forgiven thee." Woman, "thy sins are forgiven thee." [Elder Corliss: "Didn't it say, Thy sins shall be forgiven?"] No, sir. "Thy sins are forgiven thee"--present tense, with an emphasis. "Thy sins are forgiven." I thank God this is so, because the creative energy is in that word "forgiven" to take away all sin and create the man a new creature. I believe in creation. Do you? Do you believe in the creative energy that is in the word "forgiven" spoken to you? Or are you an evolutionist and do you say, I cannot see how that can be, because I am so bad? I have been trying to do right, but I have made many failures. I have had many ups and downs and have been down a good many more times than up. If that is what you say, you are an evolutionist, for that is evolution.

Many people have been longing and longing for a clean heart. They say, “I believe in the forgiveness of sin and all that and I would take it all, if I was sure that I could hold out, but there is so much evil in my heart and so many things to overcome that I do not have any confidence.” But there stands the word, “Create in me a clean heart.” A clean heart comes by creation and by no other means; and that creation is wrought by the word of God. For He says, “A new heart also will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you.” Are you a creationist now or are you an evolutionist? Will you go out of this house with an evil heart or with a new heart created by the word of God, which has in it creative energy to produce a new heart? It speaks to you a new heart. To every one it speaks just that way, and if you allow a moment to pass between the speaking of the word and the new heart, you are an evolutionist. When you allow any time to pass between the word spoken and the fulfillment of that thing in your experience, then you are an evolutionist.

There are those in this house who have said, Yes, I want it. I am going to have it. I believe the word will accomplish it, but they have lengthened out the time until the next meeting and on and on, passing over years, and so they are just this much evolutionists. “While so many are hovering about the mystery of faith and godliness, they could have solved the matter by proclaiming [speaking abroad, telling it out], “I know that Jesus Christ is my portion forever.” The power to produce this is in the word of God, and when this is accepted, the creative energy is there producing the thing that is spoken. So you can settle the whole matter of the mystery of faith and godliness by proclaiming that you know that Christ is your portion forever.

There is a mystery in how God can be manifest in such sinful flesh as yours. But, mind you, the question is not now about the mystery; the question is, Is there such a thing as creation? Is there such a thing as a Creator, who can create in you a clean heart? Or is the whole thing simply evolution? Just now and among Seventh-day Adventists, the question from this day until the end of the world must be, Do you believe in the Creator? And when you believe in the Creator, how is it that He creates? Of course you say, it is by the word of God. Very good. Now does He create things for you by His word? Are you a creationist for the other evolutionists and then an evolutionist for the other creationists? How is it?

Another thing. The word says, “Be ye clean.” He said, back yonder, “Let there be light, and there was light.” He said to the leper, “Be thou clean,” and “immediately” he was clean. He says now to you, “Be ye clean,” and what now? Every one of you—what do you say? [Voice: “It is so.”] Then for your soul's sake put yourself upon that creative word. Recognize the creative energy in the word of God which comes to you in the Bible, for this word of God in the Bible is the same here to you today that it was when it spoke into space the worlds on high and brought light out of darkness and cleansing to the leper. That word spoken to you today, if received, creates you new in Christ Jesus. That word, spoken in the dark waste and void space of your heart, if received, produces there the light of God; that word spoken today to you afflicted with the leprosy of sin, if received, immediately cleanses you. Let it. Let it.

How shall I be clean? By the creative energy of that word, “Be ye clean.” Therefore it is written, “Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.” John 15:3. Are you? Will you from this moment be a creationist? Or will you go on being an evolutionist?

See what a blessed thing this is. When you read the word, receive the word, and think upon the word, what is it to you all the time? O, it is creation! The creative energy is in you producing the things which the word speaks, and you are living in the very presence of the power of creation. Creation is going on in your life. God is creating in you righteousness, holiness, truth, faithfulness—every good and gracious thing.

And when this is so, your Sabbath-keeping will amount to something, because the Sabbath is a memorial of creation—the sign that He who observes it knows the Creator and is acquainted with the process of creation. But as certainly as you are an evolutionist, your Sabbath-keeping is a fraud.

Unless you recognize the word of God day by day as a creative energy in your life, your Sabbath-keeping is a fraud, because the Sabbath is a memorial of creation. It is “a sign between me and you, that [by which] ye may know that I am the Lord your God,” the Creator of all things.

In the second chapter of Ephesians, eighth to tenth verses, we read, “For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

You need not expect to get any good works out of yourself. You have been trying. The evolutionist tries and is always trying without accomplishing it. Why go about trying to do good works, when you know you fail? Listen. There will never be any good thing in you of any kind whatever from now till the world's end, except it is created there by the Creator Himself, by His word, which has in it the creative energy. Do not forget that. Do you want to walk in good works when you go out of this house? It can be done only by being created in Jesus Christ unto those good works. Stop trying. Look to the Creator and receive His creative word. “Let the word of God dwell in you richly,” then those good works will appear; you will be a Christian. Then, because you live with the Creator and are in the presence of the creative energy, you will have that pleasant, quiet peace and genuine strength and building up that belong to a Christian.

When He tells you that “we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them,” then recognize the Creator, recognize only the good works that are created in you, paying no attention whatever to any work that is not created there, because there is nothing good but what is created by the Lord.

Now you are created new in Christ Jesus. He says so. Thank Him that it is so. What! Will you be an evolutionist on that verse? That is the present tense, “We are his workmanship.” We are created in Christ Jesus unto good works. Are you? The word is spoken. It is the creative word. How much time are you going to allow between that word of God and your being created new? Of the creation in the beginning, you said that any man who allows even a minute to pass between the word and the thing is an evolutionist. What are you now as to this word of God, which creates men in Christ Jesus unto good works? Are you an evolutionist here? Come, let us all be creationists.

Do you not see that in this way it will not require a long, tedious wearing process to be made ready to meet the Lord in glory? So many people are looking at themselves. They know that, in the nature of things it must take them an exceedingly long time to get fully ready to meet Him. If it is done by evolution, it will never be done. But when it is done by creation, it will be both surely and quickly done. That word I have before referred to is the word everyone here may take to himself. “While so many are hovering about the mystery of faith and godliness, they could solve the matter by proclaiming abroad [by telling it out], ‘Jesus Christ is my portion forever.'”

Do you see how much we have been evolutionists? shall we quit? Come now, let us be creationists and be done with it. Let us be Sabbath-keepers truly. Let us believe the Lord. He speaks forgiveness. He speaks a clean heart. He speaks holiness; He creates it. Let Him create it in you. Stop being an evolutionist and let that creative word work for you, let that creative energy work in you, that which the word pronounces, and before you leave this house, God can get you ready to meet Him. Indeed, in that very thing you do meet Him. And when you have thus met Him and do thus meet Him every day, are you not then ready to meet Him? Do you believe that? You believe He made the worlds when He spoke, that light came by His word when He spoke, and that the leper was “immediately” cleansed when he spoke, but with yourself you think considerable time must elapse between the time when the word is spoken and the fact is accomplished. O, why will you be an evolutionist? Creation, creation—that is the thing.

You and I are to call people to the supper; we are to say to all people, “Come, for all things are now ready.” How can I call to a man that all things are now ready, when I myself am not ready? It is a falsehood to start with. My words will not reach him. They are but an empty sound. But O, when there is in that call the creative energy of the word that has made us ready, that has cleansed us from sin, that has created us unto good works, that holds us as the sun is held in the course which God has marked out—then when we go forth and say to the world lying in wickedness, “Come, for all things are now ready,” they will hear. They will hear in the call the tones of the voice of the Good Shepherd, and will be cheered to come to Him for creative energy for themselves, to make them new creatures and prepare them for the supper to which they have been called.

This is where we are in this world's history. God's mark is being set upon the people. But remember, He will never set His mark upon one who is not cleansed from every defilement. God will not set His seal to something that is not true, that is not good. Would you ask Him to set His seal to righteousness that is altogether unrighteousness? You would not have the face to do that. You know that He is too righteous to do such a thing. Then He must cleanse you so that He can put His seal to His own work. He cannot put His seal to your work. His seal belongs only to a document which He Himself has approved. Let Him write His character upon your heart and then He can set His seal there. He can write His seal of approval upon your heart, only when His creative word has accomplished its purpose in your heart.

You can see in what a Presence we are; you can see in a measure how long it would take half to exhaust such a subject as this. But, brethren, when we do stop, let us stop in the presence of creation. Let us be no more evolutionists. Let not a moment pass between the word of God spoken to you and the accomplishment of the thing in you. Thus, living in the presence of creation, walking with the Creator, upheld by creative power, inspired by the creative energy—why, with a people such as that, God can move the world in a little while.

If at the beginning you thought this was a queer subject for such an occasion as today [it was the closing service of the week of prayer] you can now see that it is a strictly present truth. There are only the two ways. There is no halfway ground. Every man and woman in the world is either a creationist or an evolutionist. Evolution is infidelity; it is death. Creation is Christianity; it is life. Choose Creation, Christianity, and Life, that you may live. Let us be creationists only and creationists forever. And let all the people say, Amen (Review and Herald, 2/21/1899)
