Trinity Disproved

Dear Reader,

My objective is to disprove the trinity doctrine. My prime purpose toward that end is to interpret Ellen White's statements on the Godhead so that nothing contradicts. In an effort to do that very thing, I will prove how the trinity doctrine destroys the Atonement and the Sanctuary Service messages and thereby the entire Christian economy.

There are some E.G. White statements on the Godhead that "appear" to contradict. There are some E.G. White statements on the Human Nature of Christ that "appear" to contradict. Some devious men such as LeRoy Froom and Roy Alan Anderson, searched out such "apparently contradictory" statements to try to make it appear that SDAs hold the same position on the Godhead and the Human Nature of Christ, as do the Evangelicals. They did this in order to be spared the scorn of being called a cult in Walter Martin's book Kingdom of the Cults. For example, LeRoy Froom gathered together eight or nine statements by Ellen White on the Human Nature of Christ that "appeared" to support the belief that Christ took the nature of man BEFORE the fall. That was a dastardly and abominable piece of scholarship in light of the living fact that there are about 400 statements by Ellen White that clearly say that Christ took the nature of Adam AFTER the fall.

The same ruse was devised for the trinity doctrine on the Godhead. Froom gathered together about the same number of quotes, five or six in this instance, that make it "appear" that Ellen White believed in the trinity doctrine. However, if these statements are interpreted so that nothing contradicts, and this can be done, then it can be proven that she never accepted and taught the trinity doctrine errors, and that the trinity doctrine is contrary to everything she ever taught on the Sanctuary truth, the Atonement, the Incarnation and the Human Nature of Christ.

Here are the statements that are misconstrued to covey the notion that Ellen White finally believed, taught, and corrected the other pioneers on the trinity doctrine of the Godhead:

"The Godhead was stirred with pity for the race, and the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit gave Themselves to the working out of the plan of redemption. In order fully to carry out this plan, it was decided that Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, should give Himself an offering for sin. What line can measure the depth of this love? God would make it impossible for man to say that He could have done more. With Christ He gave all the resources of heaven, that nothing might be wanting in the plan for man's UPLIFTING. Here is love--the contemplation of which should fill the soul with inexpressible gratitude! Oh, what love, what matchless love! The contemplation of this love will cleanse the soul from all selfishness. It will lead the disciple to deny self, take up the cross, and follow the Redeemer." E.G. White, Counsels on Health, 222.

The notion is taken from the above statement that since the Holy Spirit was present when the working out of the plan of redemption ensued, there must have been three persons existing to the Godhead since all eternity. The truth of the matter is that the ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT existed from eternity and constitutes the personhood of each person of the Godhead. There would be no person without the life, blood, breath and soul supplied by the ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT ESSENCE of the Godhead, which is innate to the Godhead. The fact that Ellen White refers to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit as giving THEMSELVES to the working out of the plan of redemption, does not prove three persons, any more than Genesis 1:2 proves that "the Spirit of God moving upon the face of the waters" was a third person. Jesus was the Creator in Genesis 1, and it was His ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT that moved on the waters, because there is only one eternal spirit. No third person of the Godhead moved upon the waters. Such cannot be proven from Genesis 1:2, although many have tried to do so for millenniums and they are still trying to do so.

There has been an attempt on Internet SDA chat groups, to proffer Genesis 1:2, as proof that the Holy Spirit existed AS A THIRD PERSON from eternity AS A THIRD PERSON DISTINCT FROM THE SON, the Creator. There is no doubt from this verse that the Holy Spirit existed from eternity as the essence of the Godhead because God is Spirit and there is ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT. However, if the word Spirit in Genesis 1:2 is interpreted to mean another THIRD, DISTINCT PERSON apart from the Son, then we have a co-Creator with the Son, and He was not the sole creator as we have been taught by Scripture and Ellen White. The truth of the matter is that the Spirit of Genesis 1:2, that breathed upon the waters, was non-other than the Holy Spirit of Christ, that was innate to His Being and that of the Father.

The plural pronoun THEMSELVES in the above EGW quote, is referring to Christ and the Father and their innate one, eternal, Holy Spirit. It is in the same vein that Ellen White refers to the heavenly dignitaries in other statements. However, another very crucial factor is that when Ellen White wrote the above statement, she was writing after the fact of the Incarnation, at which time the Holy Spirit had become a third person, because the Son laid off His Holy Spirit as a gift to us. So in this fashion, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the very Spirit of Christ, the very personhood of Christ, was present when the Father and Son hewed out the Everlasting Covenant. Additional proof that this is the case of the matter is the following statement by Ellen White:

"As the divine Sufferer hung upon the cross, angels gathered about Him, and as they looked upon Him, and heard His cry, they asked, with intense emotion, 'Will not the Lord Jehovah save Him?' ... Then were the words spoken: 'The Lord hath sworn, and He will not repent. FATHER AND SON ARE PLEDGED TO FULFILL THE TERMS OF THE EVERLASTING COVENANT. God so loved the world, that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.' Christ was not alone in making His great sacrifice. It was the fulfillment of the covenant made between Him and His Father before the foundation of the world was laid. With clasped hands they had entered into the solemn pledge that Christ would become the surety for the human race if they were overcome by Satan's sophistry." E.G. White, The Faith I Live By, p. 76.

Why does the above statement not say that the Holy Spirit also was pledged to fulfill the terms of the Everlasting Covenant? Because it is implied that of course their ONE ETERNAL AND HOLY SPIRIT was involved, because that spirit was innate to both the Father and the Son. But, again, why does Ellen White not say that the Father Son and Holy Spirit was pledged? The answer is clear to me. The Covenant was made between the Father and the Son, and something about the Son had to die forever, and He died to His original state of being.

Since the White Estate admits that Ellen White never used the word "TRINITY," that word was supplied by the White Estate in the heading to the following statement, which lends to the credence of the error that Ellen White believed in a trinity as taught by the Nicene Creed:

"The Eternal Dignitaries of the Trinity.--The eternal heavenly dignitaries--God, and Christ, and the Holy Spirit--arming them [the disciples] with more than mortal energy,... would advance with them to the work and convince the world of sin." Evangelism, 616.

The Eternal Dignitaries, God, Christ and their innate ONE ETERNAL HOLY SPIRIT were present with the disciples of Christ, arming them with more than mortal energy,..to advance with them to the work and convince the world of sin.

"Personality of the Holy Spirit.--We need to realize that the Holy Spirit, who is as much a person as God is a person, is walking through these grounds. The Holy Spirit is a person, for He beareth witness with our spirits that we are the children of God. When this witness is borne, it carries with it its own evidence. At such times we believe and are sure that we are the children of God.... The Holy Spirit has a personality, else He could not bear witness to our spirits and with our spirits that we are the children of God. he must also be a divine person, else He could not search out the secrets which lie hidden in the mind of God. 'For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God." Evangelism, 616, 617.

The Holy Spirit, the Personal Holy Spirit of the Son of God prior to His Incarnation, was just as much a person as God His Father was a person, because they both were the ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT. The Holy Spirit, even though it is now the "Holy Ghost) of the Son's original life, is just as much a person as the Father is a person, even after the Incarnation of the Son, at which time the Son laid aside His life, breath, and soul for us.

"Christ gives them the breath of HIS OWN SPIRIT, the life of HIS OWN LIFE. The HOLY SPIRIT puts forth its highest energies to work in the heart and mind." Desire of Ages, 827.

The breath of His own Spirit is equated with the life of His own life. The Holy Spirit is the one eternal spirit that Christ possessed before His Incarnation--the life of His own life.

"Christ declared that after His ascension, he would send to his church, as his crowning GIFT, the comforter, who is the Holy Spirit,--THE SOUL OF HIS LIFE, THE EFFICACY OF HIS CHURCH, THE LIGHT AND LIFE OF THE WORLD. With HIS SPIRIT Christ sends a reconciling influence and a power that takes away sin. In the gift of the Spirit, [HIS LIFE--THE SOUL OF HIS LIFE] Jesus gave to man the highest good that heaven could bestow." E.G. White, Review and Herald, May 19, 1904. Book 5, p. 42.

"The Holy Spirit is the breath of spiritual life in the soul. The impartation of the Spirit is the impartation of the life of Christ. It imbues the receiver with the attributes of Christ. Only those who are thus taught of God, those who possess the inward working of the Spirit, and in whose life the Christ-life is manifested, are to stand as representative men, to minister in behalf of the church." Desire of Ages, 805.

Lev 17:11 For the life of the flesh [is] in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it [is] the blood [that] maketh an atonement for the soul.

“Cumbered with humanity Christ could not be in every place personally, therefore it was altogether for their advantage that He should leave them to go to His Father and send the Holy Spirit to be His successor on earth. The Holy Spirit is Himself divested of the personality of humanity and independent thereof. He would represent Himself as present in all places by His Holy Spirit.” E.G. White, (Manuscript Releases Volume 14 (No’s 1081-1135) MRNo.1084.

It is clear from the above statement that Christ was able to be every place personally before being cumbered with humanity. But when He became so cumbered, that was when His Holy Spirit, innate to His original state of Being, became His successor on earth. But that Successor, the Holy Ghost, was divested of the personality of humanity and independent thereof, because the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit innate to Christ before the Incarnation, never partook of Humanity as the Son partook of it at His Incarnation. Christ would henceforth represent Himself as present in all places by His both human and Divine Holy Spirit which He had innately before His Incarnation, but which was truncated by His combination with humanity--a new form of Being. The Son of God in a NEW SENSE.

Strong's on the word "Ghost" as in Holy Ghost:

(Jesus' own) spirit 6,
(Jesus' own) ghost 2, misc 21; 385

"The Spirit was given as a regenerating agency, and without this the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail." E.G. White, Review and Herald, May 19, 1904, The Promise of the Spirit, pr. 3,

If Christ had not given His original life Holy Spirit as a regenerating agency, His sacrifice on the Cross would have been of no avail, because man could never have overcome and the Sanctuary would never have been cleansed. The Cross provided justification for sins past, but the Holy Spirit life, breath and soul of Christ, which He possessed before His Divine Incarnation, was absolutely necessary for sanctification, overcoming, and the final cleansing of the Sanctuary so that we could be made Divine and Human like Christ was made human and Divine. Without this gift the Sanctuary, our body, would never be cleansed. This is what Ellen White meant when in the Alpha of Apostasy, she saw THE SANCTUARY GONE--THE ATONEMENT GONE. In other words, if Christ did not give us His both human and Divine Spirit as a regenerating agency, the Atonement could have never been complete and would have been of no avail.

Sanctuary Gone Atonement Gone -- "In a representation which passed before me, I saw a certain work being done by medical missionary workers. Our ministering brethren were looking on, watching what was being done, but they did not seem to understand. The foundation of our faith, which was established by so much prayer, such earnest searching of the Scriptures, was being taken down, pillar by pillar. Our faith was to have nothing to rest upon--the sanctuary was gone, the atonement was gone." E.G. White, The Upward Look, 152.

This is what the Omega Heresy of the trinity doctrine has achieved. It completely denies that Christ sacrificed His very life, His both human and divine life. This makes the Atonement and the Sanctuary Service null and void, because it is by His both human and divine Holy Spirit that sanctification is effected.

The trinity doctrine teaches that Christ did not sacrifice His personal Divine and Human Holy Spirit. The Trinity teaches that the Holy Spirit was another separate and distinct person from the person of the both Human and Divine Son. Without the sacrifice of the Son's personal both human and Divine Holy Spirit, at His death on the cross, as a regenerating agency, the entire sacrifice of Christ was null and void and the requirement of the death of the Testator of the Covenant was not met.

The One Eternal Spirit--There is One Spirit

"The Power of God in the Third Person.--The prince of the power of evil can only be held in check by the power of God in the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit." Evangelism, 617.

"In Co-operation With the Three Highest Powers.--We are to co-operate with the three highest powers in heaven,--the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost,--and these powers will work through us, making us workers together with God." Evangelism, 617.

All of the above statements by Ellen White, must be interpreted with the following statements which were interestingly IGNORED and LEFT OUT by LeRoy Froom, when he was trying to prove that Ellen White believed and taught the trinity doctrine error:

The real answer to this conundrum is that the Holy Spirit was and is the life, breath and soul of the Son of God, until the Son gave up this first Divine only Holy Spirit to be forever linked with humanity at His Incarnation. To be both HUMAN AND DIVINE. Blended. Mixed. Divinity with Humanity. Since the Son of God was given to mankind and God overshadowed Mary and implanted the His See, the Son of God into her and she conceived and bare God's Son, the twice born Son of God, now living in a human body forever. This is the only answer that makes all Ellen White statements on the subject of the Godhead, interpret so that nothing contradicts. The Holy Spirit was there at the hewing out of the Everlasting Covenant, in the express person of the Son. This explains Genesis 1:2. The Spirit of God that moved on the face of the waters was that of the Son, and it was the Son who was the creator of all things. This was the Spirit of the Son and the Spirit of the Father. God and His Son are two separate bodies and they both come to live in us by their Spirit. (See John 14:20) The Holy Spirit is a person, because it the Spirit of the Son of God, and did not become a third person, YET NOT A PERSON, but like a person, but rather the Spirit of Christ, NOW blended into both a human and divine Holy Spirit, which was prior to only a Divine Spirit until Christ became both human and Divine, AT HIS INCARNATION. Then the Son's Holy Spirit, became His ghost or survivor--blended, mixed with both human and Divine, by Christ being BOTH HUMAN AND DIVINE, which died completely and was raised by His Father and God and MADE a human and Divine QUICKENING Spirit (1 Cor 15:45, Romans 8:9)  a life giving human and Divine Spirit, which satisfied the Testator agreement of the Everlasting Covenant, which agreement said that the agreement was not valid as long as the Testator lived. The two-fold purpose was to prove the self-sacrificing nature of the Godhead, and to give man the greatest gift the Son and the Father could bestow upon man. The human and Divine Spirit of Christ! Mankind has been made like God, knowing BOTH good and evil forever.

The Testator Agreement in The Everlasting Covenant

Hbr 9:16 For where a testament [is], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

Hbr 9:17 For a testament [is] of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

The Holy Spirit comes from God through Christ into us. It is Both the Father and Son's Spirit that lives in us through the Son's Spirit. The both human and Divine for 2000 years is the very person of the Son, His life, blood, breath and soul. This Spirit of Christ is omnipresent, able to be present everywhere constantly, that constitutes a person, yet is not a person, but like a person, it is the Spirit of Christ sent down to us, it is Christ Himself, who has been made a Divine and Human fountain of influences. Christ is personally, in the Most Holy Place, but comes to us by His own Spirit, His own life to live in our body, when we accept Christ as our Comforter, helper, Advocate, Son of God living inside our body. When that person, the ghost of Christ's original life Being, was walking the grounds, as Ellen White puts it, this was actually Christ's original life which He had prior to His Incarnation, walking the grounds at Avondale School in His people. In the believers body, Evangelism, 616.

The One Eternal Spirit

Both the Son and the Father are Spirit. God is Spirit. The Holy Spirit was and is the Spirit of the Father and the Son.

Hbr 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

  • 1Cr 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body {John 14:20}, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit [of Christ who is both human and divine for 2,000 years now].
