We are to pray, "Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?" Acts 9:6.

Psalm 90:1
A Prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.

"The eternal God is a dwelling place (refuge) -[see John 14:20], And underneath are the everlasting arms; And He drove out the enemy from before you, And said, 'Destroy!' Deuteronomy 33:27.

I prayed that we might be baptized into Christ's sufferings, that we might not shrink at trials, but bear them with patience and joy, knowing what Jesus had suffered that we through His poverty and sufferings might be made rich. Said the angel, "Deny self; ye must step fast" Early Writings, p. 67.2 (Ellen G. White).

"Pray that the mighty energies of the Holy Spirit, with all their quickening, recuperative, and transforming power, may fall like an electric shock on the palsy-stricken soul, causing every nerve to thrill with new life, restoring the whole man from his dead, earthly, sensual state to spiritual soundness. You will thus become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust; and in your souls will be reflected the image of Him by whose stripes you are healed." Testimonies for the Church Volume 5, p. 267.2

"Let the latter rain come into my vessel. Let the light of the glorious angel which unites with the third angel shine upon me; give me a part in the work; let me sound the proclamation; let me be a colabourer with Jesus Christ." Thus seeking God, let me tell you, He is fitting you up all the time, giving you His grace.--UL 283 (1891).

“You know I cannot do this work in my own strength. You must work in me, and by me and through me, sanctifying my tongue, sanctifying my spirit, sanctifying my words, and bringing me into a position where my spirit shall be susceptible to the movings of the Holy Spirit of God upon my mind and character.” (Manuscript Release, Vol.7, pgs. 267, 268 (Ms 95, 1906, pp. 8-12, 14-17; "Lesson from Romans 15," October 20, 1906.)

"All may come to Him, and receive of His fullness. He says, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matt. 11:28). Then why not cast aside all unbelief and heed the words of Jesus? You want rest; you long for peace. Then say from the heart, "Lord Jesus, I come, because Thou hast given me this invitation." Believe in Him with steadfast faith, and He will save you. Have you been looking unto Jesus, who is the author and finisher of your faith? Have you been beholding Him who is full of truth and grace? Have you accepted the peace which Christ alone can give? If you have not, then yield to Him, and through His grace seek for a character that will be noble and elevated. Seek for a constant, resolute, cheerful spirit. Feed on Christ, who is the bread of life, and you will manifest His loveliness of character and spirit" First published in April 1893, and reprinted in Selected Messages, Book 1, pp. 396-398.

"Many think that they must wait for a special impulse in order that they may come to Christ; but it is necessary only to come in sincerity of purpose, deciding to accept the offers of mercy and grace that have been extended to us. We are to say: "Christ died to save me. The Lord's desire is that I should be saved, and I will come to Jesus just as I am without delay. I will venture upon the promise. As Christ draws me, I will respond." The apostle says, "With the heart man believeth unto righteousness" (Rom. 10:10). No one can believe with the heart unto righteousness, and obtain justification by faith, while continuing the practice of those things which the Word of God forbids, or while neglecting any known duty" First published in April 1893, and reprinted in Selected Messages, Book 1, pp. 396-398.

We Christians are to Act in His stead.  Wow, what a revelation.  Here let's build on this thought.

"When, in the midst of his blind error and prejudice, Saul was given a revelation of the Christ whom he was persecuting, he was placed in direct communication with the church, which is the light of the world. In this case Ananias REPRESENTS CHRIST, and also represents Christ’s ministers upon the earth, who are APPOINTED TO ACT IN HIS STEAD. IN CHRIST'S STEAD Ananias touches the eyes of Saul, that they may receive sight. IN CHRIST'S STEAD he places his hands upon him, and, as he prays in Christ’s name, Saul receives the Holy Ghost. ALL IS DONE IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF CHRIST. CHRIST IS THE FOUNTAIN; THE CHURCH IS THE CHANNEL OF COMMUNICATION. AA 122.4

"The Father's building Himself into us

The Father's plan for building Himself into us is striking. We must take Jesus' place. We must learn to act in His stead. There must be the conscious training of our spirits to be His actual representatives. Col. 1 :9-12 gives us an intimation of the passion of the Father to make Himself known to us in such a real way that we can enter into all the riches of the fullness of His Life that belongs to us. Here is a prayer of the Spirit through the lips of Paul

"For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray and make request for you, that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding."
The word knowledge in the Greek is "epignosis." It means full knowledge, complete knowledge, exact knowledge. We should have that kind of Knowledge, for it is in this Revelation. We have the Holy Spirit who inspired it as our teacher. He has never left His position as an instructor. He is here in my heart and yours, and He longs to fill us with the exact knowledge of the Father's will in all Spiritual Wisdom and Understanding.

It will be Wisdom to use the knowledge of this Revelation in our daily walk. It will be Wisdom to know how to use the statements of fact as well as the promises in the Gospels. It will be Wisdom to know how to make this message known in an attractive way. We are to have "knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom," a deeper insight into the very heart of the Father. I Cor. 2:9, 10 may throw some light on this. "Things which eye saw not, the ear heard not, and which entered not into the heart of man, whatsoever things God prepared for them that love him."

These are revealed to us today in this Revelation through the Spirit, for the Holy Spirit is able to search all things, yea, the deep things of God, and our recreated spirit is enabled to follow the Holy Spirit in this searching of the Riches of His Grace. Most of these riches are in the Pauline Revelation. In Eph. 3:8 we catch a glimpse of where Paul said, "Unto me, who am less than the least of 'all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ."
These unsearchable riches belong to us, but, like pearls, we have to search for them.

1 Cor. 2:11, 12 "For who among men knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of the man, which is in him? even so the things of God none knoweth, save the Spirit of God." Now note carefully the next verse: "But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God; that we might know the things that were freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Spirit teacheth."

We are learning to grasp this exact truth by the aid of the Spirit. We find that in Col. 1:9, 10 this knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding is to enable us to walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing. Our walk is before the world. We might say that it is a two-fold walk. One phase of it is before the Father, and the other is before the world. I am to walk worthy of the Lord before men so they will recognize this New Life in me.

I am so Jesusized (if we could coin the word), that they will become Jesus-conscious in my presence. I knew a woman that found Christ through my ministry over the air. Her husband was a godless man and she had been a fit companion in his worldliness, but now she had found Christ. It went on for several weeks until finally one morning before he went to work, he said, "Do you know, woman, that I have been living and sleeping and eating with Jesus Christ for the last two weeks."

She was a keen-minded woman, and she said, "How do you enjoy it?" Tears filled his eyes. He said, "I wish I was like that. I wish I had that something that has come into your life." You see, Jesus had so lived in her that the man could feel the presence of the Master in her. Two young men were working in a shop. One of them was studying the Word in our classes. The fellow working on a lathe next to him said to him one morning, "Harry-. I would like to ask you something that is personal. What have you in your life that makes you so different from all the other men here in the room?"

The boy answered, "Jesus." "Oh," he said, "that is religion; I don't believe in that. And the young boy said, "It is not religion, it is the Living Christ." Christ magnified in my body, said Paul; Christ made large in my daily walk. In Phil. 1:20, 21 he said, "For to me to live is Christ." Once those words burned in my heart for months. The Master was saying to me, "I want to be magnified in you. I want to absorb your personality. I want to take possession of your dreams and ambitions. I want the first place in your life." I was afraid of Him. I spoke out, "Lord, I don't dare let you have control of me for if I do I will never achieve the things for which I am so ambitious.

And I shall never forget, a voice in my heart said, "I love you more than you love yourself. I am more ambitious for your success than you are. I have the ability to put you over."
I said, "Lord, don't make me preach on the streets. You will send me down into the slums. I don't want to go there Lord." I struggled again, but He was tender with me. His `Wisdom became so apparent. Often in my extremities He had helped me. When I would get into difficulties He would lift me out.

One day I said, "Master, I will go with you. Here I am; take all of my ability. Swallow up my ambition with your own, but give me Love like your Love. Help me to so live that men can see you in me, feel you, that when I speak it will be your voice. When I lay hands on the sick it will be your hands." And then I heard a Scripture in Gal. 2:20: "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I that live, but Christ liveth in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith which is in your Master, who loved me, and gave himself up for me."

Then I said, "Now Master, I trust you and I give myself up to you." You see, when we come quietly in our heart-life to the place where we say "Yes" to Him, then He reveals Himself in us. It is not forced upon us. He doesn't drive us. He doesn't force us with sickness or the loss of property. The sickness comes because we are not aware that He can shield us. We have gone the way of our inclinations. We have gone the way of our own desires and our plans have been worked out, reasoned out with sense knowledge."

Psalm 78:69
He built his sanctuary (mankind, our BODY, TEMPLE, BOTTLE, VESSEL, "Church Triumphant") like the heights, like the earth that he established forever.

Repentance is a gift of God. Acts 5:31 says: "Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, for to GIVE repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins." "...for he shall save his people from their sins." Matthew 1:21. So we see that we must ask for and receive or accept that gift. Then Acts 5:32 says: "And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him."

The holy spirit of Jesus abides in us when we "obey him." We "obey him" when we "die daily" to self, and instead of doing what we want, we do the works that the holy spirit inspires us to do. "Seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened unto you..." "You receive not because you ask not."

When John's disciples had been baptized with John's "baptism of repentance," some later joined the disciples, and they were baptized again into Jesus' baptism of repentance. In other words, they were baptized into allowing Jesus to abide in them to give them the POWER to REPENT.

So is the baptism of Jesus today! "Let this mind be in  you that was also in Christ JESUS!" Those who receive the Spirit of Christ as their savior from sin, are receiving Him into their own MIND, in order to allow him to do HIS works in them.

Just as your past experience with the different churches reveals, the FORM of baptism is USELESS, if not being a baptism that gives you JESUS abiding within to OVERCOME sin in you, and if YOU do not "ALLOW this mind to be in you that was also in CHRIST JESUS."

It is required of us that we ALLOW Jesus to save us from our sins. The word REPENTANCE means a changing of our minds. We are required to leave the mind of satan, and accept the mind of Jesus so that he can save us from our sins. If we ourselves DO NOT REJECT THE MIND OF SATAN and ACCEPT THE MIND OF JESUS, we have not ACCEPTED JESUS AS OUR SAVIOR FROM SIN.

"Sin is the transgression of the law." "The law" is the torah, which is "every word that proceeds (by inspiration) from the mouth of God," "all that the prophets have spoken," and even more specifically the "TEN COMMANDMENTS" are called "the law." So this means that we must OBEY God. "The wages of sin (transgression of God's commandments) is death." Romans 6:23. In order for Jesus to "save his people from their sins," he must save them from breaking his 10 commandments. Acts 5:31 says: "Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, for to GIVE repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins." So Jesus' job today that he desires to do for all of us is to GIVE repentance to us so that he can change our minds from breaking God's commandments to keeping God's commandments. We MUST ALLOW his mind to dwell in us.

The reason John the baptist's disciples needed to be rebaptized was because his baptism of repentance was insufficient without "Jesus" to save his people from their sins." In other words, Jesus had the power, but they themselves had NO POWER to REPENT without Jesus GIVING them repentance. It is the same for us today.

imbued (impregnated with the Seed of God) Words are as seeds which are planted.

My WORDS are Spirit and they ARE LIFE! The WORDS or PROMISES of GOD are ACTIVE, full of LIFE giving POWER. Christ IS the Wisdom and POWER of God! He IS the WORD OF GOD! Christ is the thoughts of God made audible to us!

The faith OF Jesus IS claiming precious Bible promises (2 Peter 1:4/Luke 21:15/John 6:37) as our very own ticket to Heaven. Tracing our fingers over them and praying them over ourselves, friends and family - even our enemies! Pray for our enemies. God says to do this. Praise God for our trials. It is these trials that truly are our greatest blessing. In the heat of the battle it's hard to remember - but this is what we must do. In ALL things give thanks for this is the will of God concerning you.

#1   Cultivate the habit of speaking well of others. Dwell upon the good qualities of those with whom you associate, and see as little as possible of their errors and failings.

#2   Cultivate the habit of talking with the Saviour when you are alone, when you are walking, and when you are busy with your daily labor. Let the heart be continually uplifted in silent petition for help, for light, for strength, for knowledge. Let every breath be a prayer" MH 510.1.

"Are there not many claiming to keep the commandments who are living in transgression of the sacred precepts? We cannot keep the law of God unless we give to our creator and redeemer our undivided affection. It is impossible to keep the last six commandments unless we keep the first four" The Signs of the Times, September 22, 1890.

"When the human agent feels his need of the sun of righteousness, when he comes to Jesus saying, Lord, I am sinful, unworthy, hopeless; save me, or I perish, he is accepted in the beloved, and his heart is warmed by the rays of divine love. In this sincere coming to Christ he opens the door to him who has long been saying, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." He is accepted by faith, and he knows what it means to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus"--Ms 164, 1898, pages 1, 4; 6 MR 5.

"Most startling messages will be borne by men of God's appointment, messages of a character to WARN the people, to AROUSE them. And while some will be PROVOKED by the warning, and led to RESIST LIGHT AND EVIDENCE, we are to see from this that we ARE giving the TESTING MESSAGE FOR THISTIME. Messages will be given OUT OF THE USUAL ORDER." Testimonies,Vol. 9, p. 136.

"The work (John 6:29/1 John 3:9) which the church (144k) has failed to do in a time of peace and prosperity, she will have to do in a terrible crisis, under most discouraging, forbidding, circumstances. The warnings that worldly conformity has silenced or withheld, must be given under the fiercest opposition from enemies of the faith. And at that time the superficial, conservative class, whose influence has steadily retarded the progress of the work, will renounce the faith, and take their stand with its avowed enemies, toward whom their sympathies have long been tending. These apostates will then manifest the most bitter enmity, doing all in their power to oppress and malign their former brethren, and to excite indignation against them. This day is just before us. The members of the church will individually be tested and proved. They will be placed in circumstances where they will be forced to bear witness for the truth. Many will be called to speak before councils and in courts of justice, perhaps separately and alone. The experience which would have helped them in this emergency they have neglected to obtain, and their souls are burdened with remorse for wasted opportunities and neglected privileges"—Testimonies for the Church 5:463.

"testing" definition: requiring maximum effort or ability <a most difficult and testing problem Reveal the strengths or capabilities of (someone or something) by putting them under strain: "such behavior would test any marriage".

A Message to Startle People to Study—"The testing message for this time is to be borne so plainly and decidedly as to startle the hearers, and lead them to desire to study the Scriptures."—Testimonies For The Church 9:109 (1909).

"Bear in mind that as you deliver the testing message for this time, your own heart will be softened and quickened by the subduing influence of the Holy Spirit, and you will have souls for your hire. As you stand before multitudes in the cities, remember that God is your helper, and that by His blessing you may bear a message of a character to reach the hearts of the hearers."—Manuscript 53, 1910.

"The same law that was engraved upon the tables of stone is written by the Holy Spirit upon the tables of the heart. Instead of going about to establish our own righteousness we accept the righteousness of Christ. His blood atones for our sins. His obedience is accepted for us. Then the heart renewed by the Holy Spirit will bring forth “the fruits of the Spirit.” Through the grace of Christ we shall live in obedience to the law of God written upon our hearts. Having the Spirit of Christ, we shall walk even as He walked. Through the prophet He declared of Himself, “I delight to do Thy will, O My God: yea, Thy law is within My heart.” Psalm 40:8. And when among men He said, “The Father hath not left Me alone; for I do always those things that please Him.” John 8:29" PP 372.

"When we learn the power of His word, we shall not follow the suggestions of Satan in order to obtain food or to save our lives. Our only questions will be, What is God's command? and what His promise? Knowing these, we shall obey the one, and trust the other" DA 121.2.

"Servants of God, with their faces lighted up and shining with holy consecration, will hasten from place to place to proclaim the message from heaven. By thousands of voices, all over the earth, the warning will be given. Miracles will be wrought, the sick will be healed, and signs and wonders will follow the believers .... Thus the inhabitants of the earth will be brought to take their stand" (GC 612),

The measure of the Holy Spirit we receive will be proportioned to the measure of our desire and the faith exercised for it, and the use we shall make of the light and knowledge that shall be given to us.—The Review and Herald, May 5, 1896.

Dear Cindy,
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Psa 133:2  It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
Psa 133:3  As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

this psalm reminds me of John 17,can you see any resemblance?

someone sent me the poem,i did not write it..Nice eh! go ahead and use it if you need it..
thanks for your prayers...

yea the end is near...courage in the Lord... how old are your daughters ?

the SDA church in Hong Kong has almost totally rejected the health message very sad pray for Hong Kong

   And so, viewing the wisdom of the world--wisdom in which he had formerly trusted--in the light of the cross, Paul "determined not to know anything, . . . save Jesus Christ, and him crucified." Throughout his later ministry, Paul never lost sight of the Source of his wisdom and strength. Hear him, years afterward, still declaring, "For me to live is Christ." And again: "I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, . . . that I may win Christ, and be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings."  {RH, March 30, 1911 par. 14}

"Most startling messages will be borne by men of God’s appointment, messages of a character to warn the people, to arouse them. And while some will be provoked by the warning and led to resist light and evidencewe are to see from this that we are giving the testing message for this time."  Testimonies for the Church Volume 9, p. 137.1

We are living in the closing scenes of this earth’s history. Prophecy is fast fulfilling. The hours of probation are fast passing. We have no time—not a moment—to lose. Let us not be found sleeping on guard. Let no one say in his heart or by his works: “My Lord delayeth His coming.” Let the message of Christ’s soon return sound forth in earnest words of warning. Let us persuade men and women everywhere to repent and flee from the wrath to come.

"The Lord has given to some ministers the ability to gather and to hold large congregations. This calls for the exercise of tact and skill. In the cities of today, where there is so much to attract and please, the people can be interested by no ordinary efforts. Ministers of God’s appointment will find it necessary to put forth extraordinary efforts in order to arrest the attention of the multitudes. And when they succeed in bringing together a large number of people, they must bear messages of a character so out of the usual order that the people will be aroused and warned." Gospel Workers 1915, p. 354.1

The heart that has once tasted the love of Christ, cries out continually for a deeper draft, and as you impart you will receive in richer and more abundant measure. Every revelation of God to the soul increases the capacity to know and to love. The continual cry of the heart is, "More of Thee," and ever the Spirit's answer is, "Much more." Romans 5:9, 10. For our God delights to do "exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think." Ephesians 3:20. To Jesus, who emptied Himself for the salvation of lost humanity, the Holy Spirit was given without measure. So it will be given to every follower of Christ when the whole heart is surrendered for His indwelling. Our Lord Himself has given the command, "Be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18), and this command is also a promise of its fulfillment. It was the good pleasure of the Father that in Christ should "all the fullness dwell," and "in Him ye are made full." Colossians1:19, R.V.; 2:10, R.V. {MB 20.3}

" 'The words that I speak are spirit and life' John 6:63. Christ is not here referring to His doctrine, but to His person, the divinity of His character” 1 Selected Messages p. 249.

"Christ is to be known by the blessed name of Comforter.” {Ms7-1902 (January 26, 1902) par. 10} - EGW

"WE WANT THE HOLY SPIRIT, WHICH IS JESUS CHRIST.” {Lt66-1894 (April 10, 1894) par. 18} - EGW

“Laying up treasure in heaven will give nobility to the character; it will strengthen benevolence, encourage mercy; cultivate sympathy, brotherly kindness, and charity. It will unite the soul of man with Christ, by links that can never be broken.” The Review and Herald, September 18, 1888.

In fact, your relationship to Christ will be closer than angels that have never fallen. “Because we believe and act out that we are members of the Royal Family, children of the Heavenly King, bound to Jesus.” Mind, Character and Personality, vol. 1, 175.

It was a wonderful thing for God to create man, to make mind. The glory of God is to be revealed in the creation of man in God’s image, and in his redemption. One soul is of more value than a world. God created man that every faculty might be the faculty of the divine mind. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Author of our being, and He is also the Author of our redemption, and everyone who will enter the kingdom of God will develop a character that is the counterpart of the character of God. None can dwell with God in the holy heaven but those who bear His likeness. Those who are to be redeemed are to be overcomers; they are to be elevated, pure, one with Christ.Lt55-1895 (September 19, 1895) par. 14

Our people are constantly retrograding upon health reform. Satan sees that he can not have such a controlling power over them as he could if appetite were indulged. Under the influence of unhealthful food, the conscience becomes stupefied, the mind becomes darkened, and its susceptibility to impressions is blunted. But because violated conscience is benumbed and becomes insensible, the guilt of the transgressor is not lessened. TSDF 164.1

Satan is corrupting minds and destroying souls through his subtle temptations. Will our people see and feel the sin of indulging perverted appetite? Will they discard tea, coffee, flesh-meats, and all stimulating food, and devote the means expended for these hurtful indulgences to spreading the truth? These stimulants do only harm; and yet we see that a large number of those who profess to be Christians are using tobacco. These very men will deplore the evil of intemperance, and while speaking against the use of liquors will eject the juice of tobacco. While a healthy state of mind depends upon the normal condition of the vital forces, what care should be exercised that neither stimulants nor narcotics be used. TSDF 164.2

Tobacco is a slow, insidious poison, and its effects are more difficult to cleanse from the system than those of liquor. What power can the tobacco-devotee have to stay the progress of intemperance? There must be a revolution in our world upon the subject of tobacco before the ax is laid at the root of the tree. We press the subject still closer. Tea and coffee are fostering the appetite which is developing for stronger stimulants, as tobacco and liquor. And we come still closer home, to the daily meals, the tables spread in Christian households. Is temperance practiced in all things? Are the reforms which are essential to health and happiness carried out there? Every true Christian will have control of his appetite and passions. Unless he is free from the bondage and slavery of appetite, he can not be a true, obedient servant of Christ. It is the indulgence of appetite and passion which makes the truth of none effect upon the heart. It is impossible for the spirit and power of the truth to sanctify a man, soul, body, and spirit, when he is controlled by appetite and passion. TSDF 164.3

Testimonies for the Church 4:44

In the wilderness of temptation Christ met the great leading temptations that would assail man. There He encountered, single-handed, the wily, subtle foe, and overcame him. The first great temptation was upon appetite; the second, presumption; the third, love of the world. Satan has overcome his millions by tempting them to the indulgences of appetite. Through the gratification of the taste, the nervous system becomes excited and the brain power enfeebled, making it impossible to think calmly or rationally. The mind is unbalanced. Its higher, nobler faculties are perverted to serve animal lust, and the sacred, eternal interests are not regarded. When this object is gained, Satan can come with his two other leading temptations and find ready access. His manifold temptations grow out of these three great leading points. TSDF 164.4

The "TRINITY" IS MENTIONED IN SISTER WHITE'S WRITINGS and is referencing 1 John 2:16:

But beware of that which the old writers called the world’s trinity—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. {Lt43-1898 (May 19, 1898) par. 25}

"For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world" 1 John 2:16.

the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

We are all on trial during probationary time, and those who consent to receive the moral image of God become like Him in character. But if they refuse the character of Christ, heaven is lost to them. And when we have so gracious an opportunity of working out our own victory through our choice of the character we form, why will we not lay hold of the Saviour, and by faith receive His merits, and perfect a character like His? Satan is playing the game of life for every soul; Christ is at work for every soul. “As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them which believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Lt55-1895 (September 19, 1895) par. 10

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.” These words are written of Christ. He is our representative before the Father. Whatsoever was given to Christ—the “all things” to supply every need of fallen man—was given to Him as the head and representative of humanity. Who will be the receivers of eternal life? All who before the universe of heaven are adjudged to have in Christ endured the penalty of the law, and in Him fulfilled its righteousness. We are to be one in character with Christ. He said, “The glory (character) which thou gavest me, I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them as thou hast loved me.” Mark these words. Lt55-1895 (September 19, 1895) par. 11

There is a heaven of bliss, free from all dissension, free from all selfishness, free from poverty, sickness, oppression. Then I entreat you who have a heaven to gain and a hell to shun, Do not be presumptuous. Link up in the closest relationship with Christ, and depart from every species of iniquity. That character which expresses the glory, the character of Christ, will be received into the Paradise of God. A renovated race will walk with Christ in white, for they are worthy. The likeness of Christ’s character is revealed in every soul. There is a new heaven, and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. O shall we not here form characters after the divine similitude? Shall we not become transformed into the likeness of God? If Christ died to destroy the works of the devil, it is essential for us to understand what these works are. Lt55-1895 (September 19, 1895) par. 12

Concerning the separation of the Presbyterian Church from Rome, Dr. Guthrie writes: “Three hundred years ago, our church marched out from the gates of Rome with an open Bible on her banner and this motto, ‘Search the Scriptures,’ on her scroll.” Then LF 160.8

This is Revelation Chapter 6 – what is – under Chapter 6 in the Comments/helps

By Ellen White .  starting at verse 9 (the comments/helps on verse 9:

Opening of the Fifth Seal.—When the fifth seal was opened, John the Revelator in vision saw beneath the altar the company that were slain for the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.  After this came the scenes described in the eighteenth of Revelation, when those who are faithful and true are called out from Babylon (Rev. 1-5 quoted) MS 39, 1906).

Then read  Rev 18:1-5 and then see EGW comments on Romans 12:19) which says under verse 19—

Protector and Avenger.—

When the defiance of God’s law is almost universal, when His people are pressed in affliction by their fellow men, God will interposeThen will the voice be heard from the graves of martyrs, represented by the souls that John saw slain for the Word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ, which they heldthen the prayer will ascend from every true child of God: “It is time for thee, Lord, to work: for they have made void thy law.”

The fervent prayers of His people will be answered: for God loves to have His people seek Him with all the heart, and depend upon Him as their deliverer.  He will be sought unto to do these things for His people, and He will arise as their protector and avenger. “Shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him”  (RH Dec. 21, 1897)?

The Law of God

I cannot express upon paper how deeply my heart is stirred as I realize that time is so short. Let no one read the Bible indifferently. The fulness of iniquity will be reached when piety and the truth of the Word of God are ignored, and then the words of David are appropriate: “It is time for Thee, Lord, to work; for they have made void Thy law.”Ms39-1906 1.3900

Any fallacy is likely to be received by a people who make void the law of God. There is a crisis just ahead of those who are acting on a short-sighted policy. The rulers of the land will take their position above the great Creator of the world. The claims of a false Sabbath will be brought to the front, and the rulers and the people will act upon the principle of a short-sighted policy. The false Sabbath, the first day of the week, will be accepted, and the rulers will unite with the man of sin to restore his lost ascendancy. Laws enforcing the observance of Sunday as the Sabbath, will bring about a national apostasy from the principles of republicanism upon which the government has been founded. The religion of the Papacy will be accepted by the rulers, and the law of God will be made void.Ms39-1906 1.3900

When the fifth seal was opened, John the Revelator in vision saw beneath the altar the company that were slain for the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. After this came the scenes described in the eighteenth of Revelation, when those who are faithful and true are called out from Babylon. And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.”Ms39-1906 1.3900

Shall we turn from every commercial inducement that hinders us from giving the testing message for this time to the poor souls who are under the very influences described in this scripture? The Lord has plainly stated their danger; but they have rejected the Word of the Lord to follow after the deceptive influences of human and satanic agencies combined, and they have fallen into Satan’s snare.Ms39-1906 1.3900

I am sorry for A. T. Jones, who has been warned over and over again. Notwithstanding these warnings, he has allowed the enemy to fill his mind with thoughts of self-importance. Heed not his words, for he has rejected the plainest light and has chosen darkness instead. The Holy One hath given us messages clear and distinct, but some poor souls have been blinded by the falsehoods and the deceptive influences of satanic agencies and have turned from truth and righteousness to follow these fallacies of satanic origin.Ms39-1906 1.3900

Let the true-hearted youth come out from under the influence of every man who has refused the light of truth and who has accepted fables instead. The Holy One has given us rules for the guidance of all who will keep the way of the Lord. The law is God’s standard, from which there can be no swerving without sin. Where God’s will and way are not paramount, the first principles of holiness have yet to be learned. The rule of heaven, which must be observed with unswerving obedience, is, “They shall keep the way of the Lord.” Every other path is that of the destroyer. The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked. Some whose eyes are now blinded by Satan seem to be proud of their smartness and keenness, as revealed in their deceptive, fraudulent, underhand dealings. But a day will come when the Word of God, as summed up in His law, will be vindicated.
