What Prophetic Event Occurs March 19, 2013 to Sept. 19, 2016 that is cut short in righteousness to Aug 5, 2016?

"God's people are now to have their eyes fixed on the heavenly sanctuary, where the final ministration of our great High Priest in the work of the judgment is going forward,--where He is interceding for His people." —Life Sketches, 278

You are at war!

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after (by) the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (weak and fleshly), but mighty through God (Deity) to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ . . . !"     II Corinthians 10:4-5

March 19, 2013 until Sept. 19, 2016 cut short in Rightousness by 25 days which comes to Aug 5, 2016: "There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for forty-two months (3.5 years) was given to him." Revelation 13:5

Sept. 19, 2016 - falls on a Hebrew/Jewish day of atonement from what I can tell. The day of atonement started on October 22, 1844 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Investigative_judgment#Derivation_of_1844_date) and possibly ends on September 19, 2016. Which would mean: "When Christ ceases His intercession in the sanctuary, the unmingled wrath threatened against those who worship the beast and his image and receive his mark (Revelation 14:9, 10), will be poured out....The Great Controversy 1888, p. 627.2

"These plagues are not universal, or the inhabitants of the earth would be wholly cut off." The Great Controversy 1888, p. 628.2

"These plagues are not universal, or the inhabitants of the earth would be wholly cut off. Yet they will be the most awful scourges that have ever been known to mortals. All the judgments upon men, prior to the close of probation, have been mingled with mercy. The pleading blood of Christ has shielded the sinner from receiving the full measure of his guilt; but in the final judgment, wrath is poured out unmixed with mercy." The Great Controversy, p. 627-629

"The work of the investigative judgment and the blotting out of sins is to be accomplished before the second advent of the Lord." However, "silently, unnoticed as the midnight thief, will come the decisive hour which marks the fixing of every man's destiny, the final withdrawal of mercy's offer to guilty men."[63]

--The Sanctuary in heaven (GC 324-29, 351-53, 398-400, 409-36, PP 351-58) with 2 apartments (Hebrews 9 & 10)--the holy place (Revelation 4:1-5, Hebrews 9:2, 6, 12, 6:19, Leviticus 16:15) and most holy place (Revelation 11:19, Hebrews 9:3-5, 7, Psalms 28:2, 1 Kings 6:16, 8:6, 2 Chronicles 5:7, Exodus 40:3).

--Christ's work of atonement in the most holy place, or the 2nd apartment of heavenly sanctuary, going on since October 22, 1844 at the ending of the 2300 days, and not final until He finishes His work just prior to His coming (GC 400, 419-22, EW 251-54, 7BC 933, PP 355-58, 5T 472-73).

--Christ as the Head or first Minister of His church (6BC 1083, AA 360, 1SM 93, 1T 78, 4T 393, DA 288, SD 303), also our high Priest, and Mediator between God and man (Hebrews 7, 8 & 10, 5BC 1145, 6BC 1061, 1077-78, 1116, 1SM 243, 332).

--The true church of God, being founded only on Christ and His truth (DA 413, AA 175-76, 595-96, 9T 147, PK 595-96), with the marks of the true church listed in Revelation 12:17 and 14:12; which "keep the commandments of God," the "faith of Jesus," and the "testimony of Jesus Christ" (GC 453-54) which is "the spirit of prophecy" (Revelation 19:10) or the writings of Ellen G. White (TM 114, 1SM 27, 41, Ev 257, 4T 13).  Hence these writings have their continuing purpose, and are still to be followed today (1SM 48-50, LS 198, Publishing Ministry, p 361, 5T 64, 654, 672-91, 3T 257, 260)!

--The Righteousness of Christ: this precious conditional gift (SD 189, 1SM 377, COL 223, PK 591, SD 369) is imputed by faith to every repentant sinner (6BC 1071-72, 1SM 392, 397, 317, 363, SD 240, 5T 469, 3T 371-72, GW 161, 8T 208-09, MLT 311, MB 115-16, MM 115), and enables us to be accepted back to God (PP 353), and then to receive His grace (PP 431, 1SM 351).  This grace enables us to overcome all sin, perfecting holiness in the fear of God before Christ's second coming (PK 175, 4T 567, TM 92, 150, 3T 528, DA 555-56, 1SM 395, AA 531, SD 315, 5T 744).  We must use our will power to take the first step in obedience to God before His grace comes to help us overcome (Joshua 3:13, 15-17, MLT 100) and Christ's righteousness imparted to us (7BC 972, Ev 596, 6BC 1096, 1SM 241, TM 92, MYP 35, DA 439).  The law of God is still binding upon the Christian today, and Christ's keeping of it does not free us from having to keep it also (TM 94, SD 240, TM 131, 6BC 1073).  Perfection is not instantaneous (SL 10, 92, MYP 114, 3T 325, 8T 312-13, 1T 340, 2T 472, AA 560-61, 7BC 947, COL 65-66, 1SM 317), but is progressive throughout the lifetime while striving and advancing upward on the straight and narrow pathway to heaven (AA 533, 560-61, 2T 170, 408-09, 479, MYP 73, 144-45, 1SM 28, FE 218, COL 315, 5BC 1085, TM 150).  Thus while we are on the earth, no one is saved, or can they say or feel that they are saved until they are in heaven (1SM 314, 3SM 354).  Christ's robe of righteousness will not cover any unrighteousness nor one unconfessed sin.  Hence no one can find salvation in Jesus while continuing in sin (FLB 113, COL 312, 2RH 232, 2ST 307, 3ST 363, 1SM 396, LHU 150, 6BC 1072, DA 555-56).

The end of the Investigative Judgment is termed "the close of probation" by Seventh-day Adventists.[62] At this point in time, "the destiny of all will have been decided for life or death".[63] There will be no further opportunity for unbelievers to repent and be saved. Revelation 22:11 is considered to describe the close of probation: "Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy."

Following the close of probation will be a "time of trouble",[68] which will be a period of intense conflict and persecution for God's people (Revelation 13:15-17; 7:14). Shortly afterward, Christ will return in glory (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10) and raise the righteous dead (the "first resurrection", Revelation 20:4-5), whom he will take to heaven together with the righteous living to share his millennial reign (Revelation 20:6). Just who these "righteous" are will, of course, have been revealed during the course of the Investigative Judgment. During the millennium, Satan will be imprisoned on earth alone with his demons (Revelation 20:1-3). During this period God's redeemed will be in heaven, having 1000 years to examine the books of Judgment for themselves, ensuring that God has acted fairly in His dealings with humanity. Judgment is committed to those who have walked in human shoes to ensure that the lost have indeed rejected God (Revelation 20:4). At the end of the millennium, Christ will again return to earth with His redeemed to raise the wicked (the "second resurrection", Revelation 20:5). Satan will then deceive the wicked into attacking God's people (Revelation 20:7-9). At this time, Christ will sit down in final Executive Judgment and the books will be open for all (sinner and saved alike) to see and judge (Revelation 20:11-13). Once all have acknowledged the justice and love of God, the execution of the judgment proceeds. Having already thrown Satan and his demonic henchmen into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10), God now consigns those who have rejected forgiveness to incineration and eternal death (Revelation 20:15). Those who have accepted forgiveness inherit a recreated, perfect, new earth. (Revelation 21:1-5). Adventists feel that their eschatological message is to sound the cry of Revelation 22:17: "The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come.' And let him who hears say, 'Come.' And let him who is thirsty, let him come. And whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life."

The Leviticus 16 "Day of Atonement" model where the scope for the term "Atonement" involves not only the sacrifice of the sin offering (Christ's completed atoning sacrifice) - but also the work of the High Priest in the Sanctuary.

The close of probation for mankind does not come before the fulfillment of certain eschatological prophecies predicted in the Book of Revelation and still future to human history. Judgment continues in heaven as long as there are individuals that accept salvation until the close of probation.

Parallels between the Old Testament Day of Atonement and Christ's heavenly ministry

Leviticus 16Hebrews
Thus shall Aaron [the High Priest] come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering. (16:3)But Christ being come an high priest... Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (9:11,12)
And he shall take a censer full of burning coals...and bring it within the veil: And he shall put the incense upon the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat... (16:12,13)...which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (6:19,20)
Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat: And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins... (16:15,16)For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? ... It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these... (9:13,14, 23)
And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness. (16:21,22)...the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all...for he shall bear their iniquities. (Isaiah 53:6,11)
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many... Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. (9:28, 13:12,13)
For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD. (16:30)By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. (10:10,12,14)

"This door was not opened until the mediation of Jesus was finished in the holy place of the sanctuary in 1844. Then Jesus rose up and shut the door of the holy place, and opened the door into the most holy, and passed within the second veil, where He now stands by the ark, and where the faith of Israel now reaches. I saw that Jesus had shut the door of the holy place, and no man can open it; and that He had opened the door into the most holy, and no man can shut it." (Rev. 3:7,8). Early Writings, p. 42

"So when Christ entered the holy of holies to perform the closing work of the atonement, He ceased His ministration in the first apartment." (Great Controversy, p. 428)

"Investigative judgment"/"heavenly sanctuary" = Psalms 100:4 NIV "Enter His GATES with THANKSGIVING and His COURTS with PRAISE!" Gates outer sanctuary and Most Holy is the "courts" with Praise that we are to enter into with Jesus.

Mar 19, 2013 - The Roman Catholic Church has a new Pope and his name his Jorge Mario Bergoglio. Henceforth, he wants to be know as “Pope Francis.

Is Pope Francis the FINAL Pope – Petrus Romanus?

The new Pope augurs great changes for the Vatican. Will they be positive changes? Or a radical shift in Roman Catholic aims  and power politics? What do we know about this Pope from the  “end of the earth,” Argentina? What was his role in the “Dirty  War”? What does Bible prophecy say about the final Pope?

Under the Garb of Christianity

"We are approaching the end of this earth's history, and Satan is working as never before. He is striving to act as director of the Christian world. With an intensity that is marvellous he is working with his lying wonders. Satan is represented as walking about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. He desires to embrace the whole world in his confederacy. Hiding his deformity under the garb of Christianity, he assumes the attributes of a Christian, and claims to be Christ Himself."--8MR 346 (1901).

Arrogant words and blasphemies: “The Pope is not simply the representative of Jesus Christ: On the contrary, he is Jesus Christ himself, under the veil of flesh.” 1893 Pontiff Pius X.

Prophetically, Satan dressed in angel robes impersonates Christ at the close of time. He has so far fulfilled this prophecy of acting like Jesus, washing peoples feet, being humble, not living in the Pope's normal opulent dwelling. Although Bergoglio seems to show piety, humility, and a love for the poor on the surface, as he is widely proclaimed to have rare meekness and concern for the poor, because he travels on public transport, cooks his own meals, has lived in a relatively humble abode, and rejects the trappings of the normal papacy, what kind of man is he really? Jesuit Pope Francis has acted the part of Christ since the start of His reign on 3/13/16.  But what he SAYS, to transgress the 10 Commandments, the law of God shows out his true identity"The Word of God declares that when it suits the enemy's purpose, he will through his agencies manifest so great a power under a pretence of Christianity that, "if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect" [Matt. 24:24].--Ms 125, 1901.

Revelation 13:5 "There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and
, and authority to act for forty-two months (3.5 years) was given to him."

People will stare at him and say, but I thought you were a MAN! Isaiah 14:16 NIV "Those who see you stare at you, they ponder your fate: "Is this THE MAN who shook the earth and made kingdoms tremble?"

“I saw an angel come down from Heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled; and after that he must be loosed a little season.” [Revelation 20:1-3.]

"Satan will use every opportunity to seduce men from their allegiance to God. He and the angels who fell with him will appear on the earth as men, seeking to deceive. God's angels also will appear as men, and will use every means in their power to defeat the purposes of the enemy."--8MR 399 (1903).

"Satan . . . will come personating Jesus Christ, working mighty miracles; and men will fall down and worship him as Jesus Christ. We shall be commanded to worship this being, whom the world will glorify as Christ. What shall we do? Tell them that Christ has warned us against just such a foe, who is man's worst enemy, yet who claims to be God, and that when Christ shall make His appearance it will be with power and great glory, accompanied by ten thousand times ten thousand angels and thousands of thousands, and that when He shall come we shall know His voice."--6BC 1106 (1888).

March 19, 2013 to Sept. 19, 2016 (see this page for more info about this) - This is one Humble Cardinal. He's "humble", because they plan for him to be a Christ type figure. He takes the bus, cooks his own meals, cares about the poor, will baptize single parent children, etc. THIS is giving him a Christ like demeanor. Not to mention, this does remind me, how Christ rode on a donkey. That was lowliness, humility. Remember, the world will look for a SAVIOUR in chaos.  (ABC) kept on insisting that he will have a "universal" appeal. Why are these things important? Well, if he comes across as a Christ type figure, then the world will be open for deception. Meaning, he can perform many lying signs and wonders, which will make him look even more like Christ and the masses will buy it.

"Satan, clothed in angel robes, will deceive, if possible, the very elect." Testimonies for the Church Volume 5, p. 80.1

"At this age, the Antichrist appears as the true Christ, and then the law of God in the nations of the world completely abolished. Rebellion against God's holy Law is fully mature. But the true leader of this whole rebellion is Satan, disguised as an angel of light. People will be deceived and exalted him to the place of God and declare him a god. However, the omnipotence of those hits and apostate churches, which combine the exaltation of Satan, the verdict: "That's why one day come to his wounds, death, and crying with hunger, and be burned with fire: for strong is the Lord who is he that condemns." (TM 62)

“Some are looking too far off for the coming of the Lord. Time has continued a few years longer than they expected; therefore they think it may continue a few years more, TIME CAN LAST BUT A VERY LITTLE LONGER”. Early Writings, p. 58.1

The Harlot and the Second Beast
We read in the book of Revelation of a great worldwide political empire which will rise up in the “end of days.” It is called “the beast,” and is a union of nations with “ten horns and seven heads” (Rev.13:1). See our article in the January-February 2005 issue of Prophecy Flash on the “Beast with Seven Heads and Ten Horns.” This “beast”
will rule the world for a period of “forty two months” or 3 ½ years (Rev.13:5).
After seeing this great beast rise up, John says, “Then I saw another beast rising up out of the land [itself]; he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke (roared) like a dragon. He exerts all the power and right of control of the former beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell upon it to exalt and deify the first beast [the coming world dictator!], whose deadly wound was healed, and to worship him” (Rev.13:11-12).

The second “beast” is a world religious leader or USA protestant group?. He looks on the surface like a “lamb” – that is, a Christian – but talks like the devil himself! The lamb-like beast is Satan himself rather than the United States (3 SM, 393).

The two beasts of Revelation 13 (the leopard beast and the lamblike beast) have been clearly identified in the Spirit of Prophecy. There was no changeover from one position to the other. The first beast is the papacy and the second is the United States. Revelation 13 is based on, and sequentially, follows Revelation 12. In that chapter there is a dragon-like creature, which Revelation 12:9 and the Spirit of Prophecy identify as Satan. In Revelation 13, we see the dragon working through the leopard and lamb-like beasts. In order to do that effectively, he gives power to do his will more effectively.

Pope says power should be moved away from Vatican

Pope says power should be moved away from Vatican

Telegraph.co.uk ‎- 3 hours ago 11/26/13
Pope Francis uses first major document of papacy to call for fundamental reform of "confined" Church and attack global capitalism.
Francis said it was time for "a conversion of the papacy," adding that "excessive centralization, rather than proving helpful, complicates the Church's life."
Pope Francis has called for power in the Catholic Church to be devolved away from the Vatican, in the first major work he has written in the role.
In the document, he says he is open to suggestions to changes in the power of the papacy.
He also warns that rising global economic inequality is bound to explode in conflict.
"Romanism in the Old World, and apostate Protestantism in the New, will pursue a similar course toward those who honor all the divine precepts. The Great Controversy 1888, p. 613.2
"By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy (keep Sunday holy Law) in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness (truth). When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold unionour country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near." Testimonies for the Church Volume 5, p. 451.1

The leopard beast of Revelation 13 represents the papacy (GC 439, 442, 443, 445, 578; SR 381-382). The leopard beast of Revelation 13 also represents Satan. The papacy is a gigantic system false religion and a masterpiece of Satan (GC 50). It is a monument of Satan's effort to rule the earth according to his will (GC 50). It has not changed (GC 571). It conceals the invariable venom of the serpent beneath the variable appearance of the chameleon (GC 571), and its work is done under Satan's special direction (7 BC 911).

The lamblike beast of Revelation 13 represents the United States of America (GC 440-441, 445, 578-579, SR 381-382). The lamblike beast of Revelation 13 also represents Satan. It speaks with a voice like a dragon (GC 441-442). Satan speaks through its apparent wonders (3 SM 393, quoted above).

Will be repeated, dual application:
In GC 439 she stated that the 42 months spoken of in Revelation 13:5 began in 538 and ended in 1798. Later, after quoting Revelation 13:4-10 she clearly placed this time period in the future: This entire chapter is a revelation of what will surely take place. (See 7 BC 979).

Who then do those two beasts represent? They primarily represent the papacy or United States; yet, behind the scenes, they represent Satan working through both of these earthly powers.
This religious leader “performs great signs (startling miracles), even making fire fall from the sky to the earth in men’s sight. And because of the signs (miracles) which he is allowed to perform in the presence of the [first] beast, he deceives those who inhabit the earth, commanding them to erect a statue (an image) in the likeness of the beast who
was wounded by the [small] sword and still lived” (verses 13 -14).

"Disguised as an angel of light, it will (Satan) to walk the earth as a miracle worker. Beautiful language will make a noble idea. Will speak kind words and perform good deeds. It will masquerade as Christ, but at one point will be a distinct difference. Satan will keep people from the law of God." (FE 471472)

It will claim that the Sabbath was changed from the seventh to the first day of the week, and as a master on the first day of the week will present this Saturday for a false test of loyalty to him. (MS 153, 1902)

“The hour has come when the demon is authorized to act…the present hour is the hour of Satan.” Allegedly spoken by Our Lady at Medjugorje

“The beast was given … authority to act for forty-two months” (Rev 13:5)

“This century [which I hypothesize is the short time of Satan, the time, times, and a half-time] is under the power of the devil, but when the secrets confided to you come to pass, his power will be destroyed.” Allegedly spoken by Our Lady at Medjugorje

“I, Daniel, looked and saw two others, one standing on either bank of the river. One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was upstream, ‘How long shall it be to the end of these appalling things?’
I heard the man speak who was dressed in linen, standing further up the stream: he raised his right hand and his left to heaven and swore by him who lives for ever, ‘A time and two times, and half a time; and that, when the power of the destroyer of the holy people [Satan] was brought to an end, all these things should end.”

It is impossible to give an idea of the experience of God's people, living on earth, which will mix the heavenly glory and renewed persecution, as we know from the past. They walk in the light rising from the throne of God. Through the angels between heaven and earth permanent connection. And Satan, who will be surrounded by evil angels, and will be claiming to be God, the miracles of all kinds, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. God's people can not find their certainty in the operation of miracles, for Satan imitates the miracles that will be made. God tested and tried people find their strength in a sign of where it says in Exodus 31,12-18. They occupy their positions on the living word "is written." This is the only basis on which they can become safe. (9T 16)

More blasphemous names: The Pope, a.k.a Papa, Vicar of Christ, Vicar of Peter, Holy Father, Bishop of Rome, Servant of the servants of God, Supreme Pastor, His Holiness, The Rock, Supreme Pontiff, Father of Kings, Governor of the World, Successor of St. Peter, Shepherd of the Universal Church, His office is often referred to as the papacy. The Pope is called God in the veil of Human Flesh, also Our Lord and God. Seems like blasphemy to me, allocating divinity to Man! Fathers Know Best tract, Peter the Rock. He is also known as the Patriarch of the West. Holy See and Apostolic See refer to the Pope’s ecclesiastical jurisdiction, etc.

“The Pope is not simply the representative of Jesus Christ:
On the contrary, he is Jesus Christ himself, under the veil of flesh.” Pope Pious X

2 Corinthians 11:14 (KJV) "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."

Amp: Is. 14:12 How have you fallen from heaven, O alight-bringer and daystar, son of the morning! How you have been cut down to the ground, you who weakened and laid low the nations [O blasphemous, satanic king of Babylon!]

Roman Caesar 8th King 1st Jesuit Pope Francis I is the one that goes down into the bottomless pit and then perdition, eternal death.

The 8th King started his reign of terror March 19, 2013 and it ends on September 19, 2016. Which not coincidentally, is the Jewish calendars Day of Atonement – (9 Tishri = September 13) meaning the day Michael our High Priest stands up? Revelation 22:11 saying “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.”

"I WAS pointed down to the time when the third angel's message was closing [Sept 19, 2016? cut short in righteousness like the first Dark Ages only by 25 days now - comes to Aug 5, 2016]. The power of God had rested upon His people; they had accomplished their work and were prepared for the trying hour before them. They had received the latter rain, or refreshing from the presence of the Lord, and the living testimony had been revived. The last great warning had sounded everywhere, and it had stirred up and enraged the inhabitants of the earth who would not receive the message." Early Writings, p. 279.1

The "Close of Probation" is determined by the time of The Day of Atonement in the Hebrew Sanctuary services.  In 1844, Jesus began the Judgment on October 22, which was a Day of Atonement,  and Jesus will declare, "It is finished", on a Day of Atonement in the year that He returns because, "Type must meet its Anti-type at the time pointed out in the symbolic service" of the Sanctuary.  This is proven by the fact that at His crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus specifically observed the spring feasts with exact attention to the day and time the feast was to take place!  See the book, The Great Controversy PP. 399 - 400.

Satan is determined to continue the fight until the end. Come as an angel of light and claims to be Christ, rips the world. But his triumph will be short. No storm or thunderstorm can not move those whose feet are firmly built on the principles of eternal truth. They are capable of competing at that time almost universal apostasy. (6BC 1106)

We are warned in recent days will work miracles and lying wonders. And we will continue these miracles until completion of the test (ie the period of grace), so that they could point to as proof that he is an angel of light, not darkness. (RH 17 November 1885)

A Sketch of the Christian Experience and Views of Ellen G.  White, p 47-48 (EW 59-60)
I saw that soon it would be considered blasphemy to speak against the rapping, and that it would spread more and more, and Satan's power would increase, and some of his devoted followers would have power to work miracles, and even to bring down fire from heaven in the sight of men.  I was shown that these modern magicians would yet account for all the miracles wrought by our Lord Jesus Christ by the rapping and mesmerism, and many would believe that all the mighty works of the Son of God, when he was on the earth, were accomplished by this same power.  I was pointed back to the time of Moses, and saw the signs and wonders which God wrought through him before Pharaoh, most of which were imitated by the magicians of Egypt; and that just before the final deliverance of the saints God would work powerfully for his people, and these modern magicians would be permitted to imitate the work of God.

The Spirit of Prophecy, Volume Four, p 429-30 (Ev 700-01, Mar 20)
The angel who unites in the proclamation of the third message is to lighten the whole earth with his glory.  A work of world-wide extent and unwonted power is here brought to view.  The Advent movement of 1840-44 was a glorious manifestation of the power of God; the first message was carried to every missionary station in the world, and in this country there was the greatest religious interest which has been witnessed in any land since the Reformation of the sixteenth century; but these are to be far exceeded by the mighty movement under the loud cry of the third message.  The work will be similar to that of the day of Pentecost.  Servants of God, with their faces lighted up and shining with holy consecration, hasten from place to place to proclaim the warning from Heaven.  By thousands of voices, all over the earth, the message will be given.  Miracles are wrought, the sick are healed, and signs and wonders follow the believers.  Satan also works with lying wonders, even bringing down fire from heaven in the sight of men.  Thus the inhabitants of the earth are brought to take their stand.

The Signs of the Times, 07-21-87 (2SM 49)
We must not trust the claims of men.  They may, as Christ represents, profess to work miracles in healing the sick.  Is this marvelous, when just behind them stands the great deceiver, the miracle-worker who will yet bring down fire from heaven in the sight of men?  Nor can we trust impressions.  The voice or spirit that says to a man.  You are under no obligation to obey the law of God; you are holy and sinless, while he is trampling on the divine law, is not the voice of Jesus; for he declares: "I have kept my Father's commandments."  And John testifies: "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."  Then how can these manifestations of great power, and these wonderful impressions, be accounted for, except on the ground that they are given through the influence of that miracle-working spirit that has gone forth to deceive the whole world, and infatuate them with strong delusion that they shall believe a lie?  He is pleased when men and women claim to possess great spiritual power, and yet disregard the law of God, because through their disobedience they mislead others, and he can use them as effective agents in his work.

Selected Messages, Book 3, p 408-09
Those who look for miracles as a sign of divine guidance are in grave danger of deception.  It is stated in the Word that the enemy will work through his agents who have departed from the faith, and they will seemingly work miracles, even to the bringing down of fire out of heaven in the sight of men.  By means of "lying wonders" Satan would deceive, if possible, the very elect.-Letter 410, 1907.

The Southern Watchman, 03-01-04
The record of Christ's contest with Satan was chronicled for the help and encouragement of the people of God to-day.  In this contest Christ worked no miracle and gave no sign.  His only dependence was God and his word.  In the future, Satan is to come down with great power, to work signs and wonders.  He will bring down fire from heaven in the presence of his devotees, and, to those who have allowed themselves to be led away from the only true foundation,-the word of God,-will give proof of his authority.  He will deceive if possible the very elect.  Those who are standing firm upon the word of the everlasting God will meet Satan with the weapon with which Christ met him,-"It is written."  This will be of more power than the working of miracles.  The people of God will conquer through the Holy Spirit's working, which is stronger than miracles or aught else.  It is from the Lord that we are to obtain power.

October 22, 1844 to Sept 19, 2016 represents the giving of the three angels messages.

The lamb-like beast is the USA and Satan uses the USA to bring fire power down from heaven. The USA will cooperate with Satan in somehow bringing fire down from heaven in the sight of the beast, the U.S.A. Both are beast powers--Satan being the dragon and the USA being the lamb-like beast. They will operate in concerted effort to deceive with miracles. Satan will cause all to worship the first beast, Rome, who will reach across the gulf to clasp hands with "lamb-like" protestant USA. Satan will persuade the U.S.A. lamb-like beast to enforce Sunday-sacredness in honor of the first beast and receive his mark--his counterfeit day.

In 1898 Ellen said that Daniel 7:25, a companion text to Revelation 13, was an event that was yet future. 6) GC 480 talks about 1844 being the time when "the judgment was set and the books opened." On page 666, less than 200 pages later, Ellen describes the same scene, but shows it taking place at the end of the millennium.

Ellen White clearly stated that certain prophesies of Daniel and Revelation will have a dual fulfillment. Revelation 13:3-5, involves a period of 1260 literal days (forty and two months--30 days to the month) AFTER THE WOUND IS HEALED, and of course the wound is healed - the Pope addressing congress Sept 24, 2015 and will not be until the papacy returns to its former wielding of power in getting Sunday-keeping enforced at penalty of death for violation of that false day of worship.

Ellen White's application of the 42 month prophecy as beginning in the sixth century, is a secondary dual, historic, day for a year, historic application of the prophecy. Of course Daniel 7:25, a companion text to Revelation 13:3-5, is applicable to Rome's ancient past record, as well as her future role after her wound is fully healed. This is a dual prophecy. Both are valid.

Day for A Year Prophecy Versus Literal Days

Ellen White clearly stated that there would be no more prophetic time (day for a year) time after 1844. This is the only way to interpret her statement on this issue so that she does not contradict Revelation 13:3-5, WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY LITERAL TIME.

As regards GC 480 wherein Ellen White speaks of the judgment being set and the books opened (the pre-Advent judgment), and on p. 666, describing the same scene but showing the judgment occurring at the end of the millennium, both are correct because Christ first judges and seals those who are sighing and crying for the abominations and afflicting themselves because of sin (Ezekiel 9), and then, at the end of the millennium when judgment will be administered by sentence of the guilty. Both are correct.

First Angels Message 1831 to 1844 - "The first angel ushers in the hour of God's judgment by a solemn announcement to all the inhabitants of the earth that it has actually commenced. But the second and third angels, who unite with the proclamation, deliver their messages in the judgment hour itself, and they address themselves to men still in probation....There is no doubt that the hour of God's judgment announced in Rev. 14 is the time when God sits in judgment as described in Danl 7:9-14. p. 46. The first angel's message, sounded prior to 1844 all over the world.

In 3 SM 426, she says: "Trumpet after trumpet is to be sounded; vial after vial poured out one after another upon the inhabitants of the earth."

In the 1886 edition of The Great Controversy, page 335, Ellen stated that the fall of the Ottoman Empire or Turkey was the "exactly fulfilled prediction" sounded by the sixth trumpet of Revelation.

Both statements are correct!

In 7C 968 she says: "When the fifth seal was opened, John the Revelator in vision saw beneath the altar the company that were slain for the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. After this came the scenes described in the eighteenth of Revelation, when those who are faithful and true are called out from Babylon." Again in 7C 984, Ellen said, "The prophecies in the eighteenth of Revelation will soon be fulfilled."

Ellen White clearly said that the call out of Babylon would be repeated. Matthew 25 says that call will be repeated, because there was to be a tarrying time after the first call. Some of the seals were opened in a secondary fulfillment of the signs of Christ's coming, but the primary fulfillment of the seal is yet to come. Ellen White fully understood that.
The Midnight Cry Repeated

"My mind was carried to the FUTURE, when the signal WILL BE GIVEN, 'Behold, the Bridegroom cometh; God ye out to meet Him.'" E.G. White, Review and Herald, Vol. 3, p. 331, Feb. 11, 1896.

Notice the date, February 11, 1896.

"The parable of the wise and foolish virgins comes as a solemn warning to EVERY CHURCH. In the parable, all the ten virgins went out to meet their Lord. All had lamps, and vessels for oil. For a time there was seen no difference between them. So with the church that lives just before Christ's second coming. All have a knowledge of the Scriptures. All have heard the message of Christ's soon approach, and confidently expect His appearing. But as in the parable, so it is NOW. A time of waiting intervenes [the tarrying time], faith is tried; and WHEN THE CRY IS HEARD, [FUTURE] 'BEHOLD, THE BRIDEGROOM COMETH; GO YE OUT TO MEET HIM,' MANY ARE UNREADY. They have no oil in their vessels with their lamps. They are destitute of the Holy Spirit. Working, waiting, watching, and praying,==this constitutes genuine Christianity." E.G. White, Review and Herald, Vol. 4, pp. 373-4, January 21, 1902.

Notice the date, January 21, 1902. This was long after the cry of 1844--and the tarrying time still continues to the next Midnight Cry of Revelation 18.

God’s people are sustained by Heavenly power and protection as they go through the time of trouble (tribulation). The time of trouble (Jacobs trouble or 6th trumpet) begins when Jesus makes the pronouncement in heaven: “He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.” Revelation 22:11.

This solemn announcement is heard when Jesus stops his work of presenting His blood on behalf of confessing sinners, for everyone has made their final decision—those who would ever repent of their sins and give their lives fully to God have done so, never to choose to sin again, and those who would not repent up to this time have fully hardened their heart. Now those who have chosen to keep their loyalties on Satan’s side feel the wrath of God:

When Christ ceases His intercession in the sanctuary, the unmingled wrath threatened against those who worship the beast and his image and receive his mark (Revelation 14:9, 10), will be poured out. The plagues upon Egypt when God was about to deliver Israel were similar in character to those more terrible and extensive judgments which are to fall upon the world just before the final deliverance of God’s people. Says the revelator, in describing those terrific scourges: “A foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image.” The sea “became blood as of a dead man; and every living creature in the sea died.” And “the rivers and springs of water . . . became blood.” Terrible as these inflictions are, God’s justice stands fully vindicated. The angel of God declares: “You are righteous, O Lord, . . . because You have judged these things. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due.” Revelation 16:2-6. By condemning the people of God to death, they have as truly incurred the guilt of their blood as if it had been shed by their hands. In like manner Christ declared the Jews of His time guilty of all the blood of holy men which had been shed since the days of Abel; for they possessed the same spirit and were seeking to do the same work with these murderers of the prophets.

In the plague that follows, power is given to the sun “to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat.” Verses 8, 9. [See also Joel 1:10-12, 17-20; Amos 8:3.]

These plagues are not universal, or the inhabitants of the earth would be wholly cut off. Yet they will be the most awful scourges that have ever been known to mortals. All the judgments upon men, prior to the close of probation, have been mingled with mercy. The pleading blood of Christ has shielded the sinner from receiving the full measure of his guilt; but in the final judgment, wrath is poured out unmixed with mercy.

The Great Controversy, p. 627-629

Satan Personates Christ

The enemy is preparing to deceive the whole world by his miracle-working power. He will assume to personate the angels of light, to personate Jesus Christ.--2SM 96 (1894).

If men are so easily misled now, how will they stand when Satan shall personate Christ, and work miracles? Who will be unmoved by his misrepresentations then--professing to be Christ when it is only Satan assuming the person of Christ, and apparently working the works of Christ?--2SM 394 (1897).

Satan will take the field and personate Christ. He will misrepresent, misapply, and pervert everything he possibly can.--TM 411 (1898).

A power from beneath is working to bring about the last great scenes in the drama--Satan coming as Christ, and working with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in those who are binding themselves together in secret societies.--8T 28 (1904).

Satan Resembles Christ in Every Particular

There is a limit beyond which Satan cannot go, and here he calls deception to his aid and counterfeits the work which he has not power actually to perform. In the last days he will appear in such a manner as to make men believe him to be Christ come the second time into the world. He will indeed transform himself into an angel of light. But while he will bear the appearance of Christ in every particular, so far as mere appearance goes, it will deceive none but those who, like Pharaoh, are seeking to resist the truth.--5T 698 (1889).

As the crowning act in the great drama of deception, Satan himself will personate Christ. The church has long professed to look to the Saviour's advent as the consummation of her hopes. Now the great deceiver will make it appear that Christ has come. In different parts of the earth, Satan will manifest himself among men as a majestic being of dazzling brightness, resembling the description of the Son of God given by John in the Revelation. (Rev. 1:13-15). The glory that surrounds him is unsurpassed by anything that mortal eyes have yet beheld. The shout of triumph rings out upon the air: "Christ has come! Christ has come!"

The people prostrate themselves in adoration before him, while he lifts up his hands and pronounces a blessing upon them, as Christ blessed His disciples when He was upon the earth. His voice is soft and subdued, yet full of melody. In gentle, compassionate tones he presents some of the same gracious, heavenly

truths which the Saviour uttered; he heals the diseases of the people, and then, in his assumed character of Christ, he claims to have changed the Sabbath to Sunday, and commands all to hallow the day which he has blessed.--GC 624 (1911).

Satan Pretends to Answer the Saints' Prayers

Satan sees that he is about to lose his case. He cannot sweep in the whole world. He makes one last desperate effort to overcome the faithful by deception. He does this in personating Christ. He clothes himself with the garments of royalty which have been accurately described in the vision of John. He has power to do this. He will appear to his deluded followers, the Christian world who received not the love of the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness (transgression of the law), as Christ coming the second time.

He proclaims himself Christ, and he is believed to be Christ, a beautiful, majestic being clothed with majesty and, with soft voice and pleasant words, with glory unsurpassed by anything their mortal eyes had yet beheld. Then his deceived, deluded followers set up a shout of victory, "Christ has come the second time! Christ has come! He has lifted up His hands just as He did when He was upon the earth, and blessed us.". . .

The saints look on with amazement. Will they also be deceived? Will they worship Satan? Angels of God are about them. A clear, firm, musical voice is heard, "Look up."

There was one object before the praying ones--the final and eternal salvation of their souls. This object

was before them constantly--that immortal life was promised to those who endure unto the end. Oh, how earnest and fervent had been their desires. The judgement and eternity were in view. Their eyes by faith were fixed on the blazing throne, before which the white-robed ones were to stand. This restrained them from the indulgence of sin. . . .

One effort more, and then Satan's last device is employed. He hears the unceasing cry for Christ to come, for Christ to deliver them. This last strategy is to personate Christ, and make them think their prayers are answered.--Ms 16, 1884.

How the Counterfeit Differs From the Genuine

Satan is not permitted to counterfeit the manner of Christ's advent.--GC 625 (1911).

Satan . . . will come personating Jesus Christ, working mighty miracles; and men will fall down and worship him as Jesus Christ. We shall be commanded to worship this being, whom the world will glorify as Christ. What shall we do? Tell them that Christ has warned us against just such a foe, who is man's worst enemy, yet who claims to be God, and that when Christ shall make His appearance it will be with power and great glory, accompanied by ten thousand times ten thousand angels and thousands of thousands, and that when He shall come we shall know His voice.--6BC 1106 (1888).

Satan is striving to gain every advantage. . . .Disguised as an angel of light, he will walk the earth as a wonder-worker. In beautiful language he will present lofty sentiments; good words will be spoken by him and good deeds performed. Christ will be personified. But on one point there will be a marked distinction--Satan will turn the people from the law of God. Notwithstanding this, so well will he counterfeit righteousness that, if it were possible, he would deceive the very elect. Crowned heads, presidents, rulers in high places, will bow to his false theories.--FE 471, 472 (1897).

Miracles Will Be Performed

The sick will be healed before us. Miracles will be performed in our sight. Are we prepared for the trial which awaits us when the lying wonders of Satan shall be more fully exhibited?--1T 302 (1862).

Men under the influence of evil spirits will work miracles. They will make people sick by casting their spell upon them, and will then remove the spell, leading others to say that those who were sick have been miraculously healed. This Satan has done again and again.--2SM 53 (1903).

Wonderful scenes, with which Satan will be closely connected, will soon take place. God's Word declares that Satan will work miracles. He will make people sick, and then will suddenly remove from them his satanic power. They will then be regarded as healed.

These works of apparent healing will bring Seventh-day Adventists to the test.--2SM 53 (1904).

Satan can, through a species of deceptions, perform wonders that will appear to be genuine miracles. It was this he hoped to make a test question with the Israelites at the time of their deliverance from Egypt.--2SM 52 (1907).

Fire From Heaven

We must not trust the claims of men. They may, as Christ represents, profess to work miracles in healing the sick. Is this marvellous, when just behind them stands the great deceiver, the miracle worker who will yet bring down fire from heaven in the sight of men?--2SM 49 (1887).

It is the lying wonders of the devil that will take the world captive, and he will cause fire to come down from heaven in the sight of men. He is to work miracles, and this wonderful, miracle-working power is to sweep in the whole world.--2SM 51 (1890).

Satan will come in to deceive if possible the very elect. He claims to be Christ, and he is coming in, pretending to be the great medical missionary. He will cause fire to come down from heaven in the sight of men to prove that he is God.--MM 87, 88 (1903).

It is stated in the Word that the enemy will work through his agents who have departed from the faith,

and they will seemingly work miracles, even to the bringing down of fire out of heaven in the sight of men.--2SM 54 (1907).

"He doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, and deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do" (Rev. 13:13, 14). No mere impostures are here foretold. Men are deceived by the miracles which Satan's agents have power to do, not which they pretend to do.--GC 553 (1911).

Satan Will Be Deified

In this age antichrist will appear as the true Christ, and then the law of God will be fully made void in the nations of our world. Rebellion against God's holy law will be fully ripe. But the true leader of all this rebellion is Satan clothed as an angel of light. Men will be deceived and will exalt him to the place of God, and deify him. But Omnipotence will interpose, and to the apostate churches that unite in the exaltation of Satan, the sentence will go forth, "Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and  mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her" [Rev. 18:8].--TM 62 (1893).

As the second appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ draws near, satanic agencies are moved from beneath. Satan will not only appear as a human being, but he will personate Jesus Christ, and the world that

has rejected the truth will receive him as the Lord of lords and King of kings.--5BC 1105, 1106 (1900).

Miracles Prove Nothing

Go to God for yourselves, pray for divine enlightenment, that you may know that you do know what is truth, that when the wonderful miracle-working power shall be displayed, and the enemy shall come as an angel of light, you may distinguish between the genuine work of God and the imitative work of the powers of darkness.--3SM 389 (1888).

The way in which Christ worked was to preach the Word, and to relieve suffering by miraculous works of healing. But I am instructed that we cannot now work in this way,[2. MIRACLES WILL ACCOMPANY THE MINISTRY OF GOD'S PEOPLE UNDER THE LOUD CRY (SEE CHAPTER 14), BUT THEY WILL NOT HAVE THE SIGNIFICANCE THEY DID IN CHRIST'S DAY. THE PERFORMING OF MIRACLES WILL NO LONGER BE A PROOF OF DIVINE ENDORSEMENT.] for Satan will exercise his power by working miracles. God's servants today could not work by means of miracles, because spurious works of healing, claiming to be divine, will be wrought.--2SM 54 (1904).

God's people will not find their safety in working miracles, for Satan will counterfeit the miracles that will be wrought.--9T 16 (1909).

Miracles Cannot Supersede the Bible

If those through whom cures are performed are disposed, on account of these manifestations, to excuse

their neglect of the law of God and continue in disobedience, though they have power to any and every extent, it does not follow that they have the great power of God. On the contrary, it is the miracle-working power of the great deceiver.--2SM 50, 51 (1885).

The Bible will never be superseded by miraculous manifestations. The truth must be studied, it must be searched for as hidden treasure. Wonderful illuminations will not be given aside from the Word or to take the place of it. Cling to the Word, receive the engrafted Word which will make men wise unto salvation.--2SM 48 (1894).

The last great delusion is soon to open before us. Antichrist is to perform his marvellous works in our sight. So closely will the counterfeit resemble the true that it will be impossible to distinguish between them except by the Holy Scriptures. By their testimony every statement and every miracle must be tested.--GC 593 (1911).

The Deception Is Almost Universal

There is now need of earnest, working men and women who will seek for the salvation of souls, for Satan as a powerful general has taken the field, and in this last remnant of time he is working through all conceivable methods to close the door against light that God would have come to His people. He is sweeping the whole world into his ranks, and the few who are faithful to God's requirements are the only ones

who can ever withstand him, and even these he is trying to overcome.--3SM 389 (1889).

The forms of the dead will appear, through the cunning device of Satan, and many will link up with the one who loveth and maketh a lie. I warn our people that right among us some will turn away from the faith and give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, and by them the truth will be evil spoken of.

A marvellous work shall take place. Ministers, lawyers, doctors, who have permitted these falsehoods to overmaster their spirit of discernment, will be themselves deceivers, united with the deceived. A spiritual drunkenness will take possession of them.--UL 317 (1905).

    "Babylon will make all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication (errors). Every nation will be involved. Of this time John the Revelator declares: [Revelation 18:3-7; 17:13, 14, quoted]. "These have one mind." There will be a universal bond of union, one great harmony, a confederacy of Satan's forces. "And shall give their power and strength unto the beast." Thus is manifested the same arbitrary, oppressive power against religious liberty--freedom to worship God according to the dictates of conscience--as was manifested by the papacy, when in the past it persecuted those who dared to refuse to conform with the religious rites and ceremonies of Romanism."--3SM 392 (1891) {LDE 136.4}

A great crisis awaits the people of God. A great crisis awaits the world. The most momentous struggle of all the ages is before us. Events which for more than half a century we have, upon the authority of the prophetic Word, declared to be impending, are now taking place before our eyes. An amendment to the Constitution restricting liberty of conscience, has long been urged upon the legislators of the nation; and the question of enforcing Sunday observance has become one of national importance. Are we ready for the issue involved in the Sunday movement?

Many who are working for Sunday enforcement have never understood the claims of the Bible Sabbath, and the false foundation on which the Sunday institution rests. And they are blinded to the results of Sunday legislation. They do not see that it would be a blow against religious liberty. But any movement in favor of religious legislation is really an act of concession to the Papacy, which for so many ages has steadily warred against liberty of conscience. Sunday owes its existence as a so-called Christian institution to the “mystery of iniquity;” and its enforcement will be a virtual recognition of the principles which are the very corner-stone of Romanism. When our nation shall so abjure the principles of its government as to enact a Sunday law, Protestantism will in this act join hands with the Papacy; it will be giving life to the tyranny which has long been eagerly watching its opportunity to spring again into active despotism.

As this struggle progresses, it may appear to human sight that Satan is triumphant and that truth is overborne with falsehood and error. In the country which has been an asylum for the conscience-oppressed servants of God and defenders of His truth, religious freedom may be placed in jeopardy, and the people over whom God has spread His shield, may meet suffering and trial. But God would have us recall His dealings with His people in the past, to save them from their enemies, and trust in Him. He has always chosen extremities, when there seemed no possible hope for deliverance from Satan’s workings, for the display of His power. Man’s necessity is God’s opportunity.

While the Protestant world is making concessions to Rome, and danger is increasing on every hand, let us arouse to comprehend the situation, and to see the contest before us in its true bearings. Let the watchmen lift up the voice, and give with clearness the message which is present truth for this time. “For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?” Let us show the people where we are in prophetic history, and seek to arouse the spirit of true Protestantism, awaking the world to a sense of the value of the religious liberty they have so long enjoyed."  ST November 28, 1900, par. 2

September 19, 2016 cut short by 25 days to Aug 5, 2016, The Great Tribulation –time of Jacobs trouble starts - The Sixth Trumpet.

The Beast, his image and his mark - He that hath an ear, let him hear ?

Prophecy is rapidly being fulfilled !

"And I saw another beast (power) coming up out of the earth ; and he had two horns like a Lamb,
but he spake as a dragon . . . . And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast (Rome) before him . . . . and causeth the earth
and they that dwell therein to worship (bow in homage, to serve and obey) the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed . . . !"
    Revelation 13:11-18

Are we seeing these two beasts growing closer than ever before. And hands are reaching across the abyss to join with
    the Roman power . . .?
"And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship (give homage to, serve and obey) him (the beast - the Roman power/doctrines/traditions/wine of error), whose names are not written in the book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world . . . . If any man have an ear, let him hear . . . !"
    Revelation 13:8

REVELATION 9:13-15 Mercy had stepped from the golden throne, no longer to intercede for the guilty sinner. The hand of God closes the door of the ark for all mankind?

What are the messages that are given to us as the everlasting gospel?

Everlasting Gospel includes a three part message:

    a) Revelation 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Note: The Everlasting Gospel includes the message by the first angel which is:

    1) Fear God
    2) Give glory to him
    3) The hour of judgment is come
    4) Worship the creator of heaven and earth

    b) Revelation 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying,Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Note: The Everlasting Gospel includes the message by the second angel which is:

    - Babylon is fallen

    c) Revelation 14:9-11 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb

Note: The Everlasting Gospel includes the message by the third angel which warns against:

    - Worshipping the beast and receiving his Mark.

The Word of God forbids praying and teaching in an unknown tongue (I Cor.14:9).
    9. The Bible teaches that we pray to God alone. In the primitive church never were there
prayers directed to Mary, or to dead saints. This practice began in the Roman Church about......................................................................................................................................600
    (Matt.11:28; Luke 1:46; Acts 10:25-26; 14:14-18)
    10. The Papacy is of pagan origin. The title of pope or universal bishop, was first given to the bishop of Rome by the wicked emperor Phocas, in the year.....................................................610
This he did to spite Bishop Ciriacus of Constantinople, who had justly excommunicated him for having caused the assassination of his predecessor emperor Mauritius. Gregory I, then bishop of Rome, refused the title, but his successor, Boniface III, first assumed title "pope".
Jesus did not appoint Peter to the leadership of the apostles and forbade such notion.
    (Luke 22:24-26; Eph.1:22-3;Col.1:18; I Cor.3:11 ).
    11. The kissing of the Pope's feet began in.........................................................................709
It had been a pagan custom to kiss the feet of emperors. The Word of God forbids such practices. (Read Acts 10:25-26; Rev.19:10; 22:9).
    12. The Temporal power of the Popes began .....................................................................750
When Pepin, the usurper of the throne of France, descended into Italy, called by Pope Stephen II, to war against the Italian Lombards, he defeated them and gave the city of Rome and surrounding territory to the pope. Jesus expressly forbade such a thing, and He Himself refused worldly kingship (Read Matt.4:8-9; 20:25-26; John 18:38).
    13. Worship of the cross, of images and relics was authorized in........................................788
This was by order of Dowager Empress Irene of Constantinople, who first caused to pluck the the eyes of her own son, Constantine VI, and then called a church council at the request of Hadrian I, pope of Rome at that time.
Such practice is called simply IDOLATRY in the Bible, and is severly condemned (Read Ex.20:4; 3:17; Deut.27:15; Psalm 115).
    14. Holy Water, mixed with a pinch of salt and blessed by the priest, was authorized in .........850
    15. The veneration of St.Joseph began in............................................................................890
    16. The baptism of bells was instituted by Pope John XIV, in the year...................................965
    17. Canonization of dead saints, first by Pope John XV in...................................................995
Every believer and follower of Christ is called saint in the Bible (Read Rom.1:7; I Cor.1:2).
    18. Fasting on Fridays and during Lent were imposed in the year.........................................998
Imposed by popes said to be interested in the commerce of fish. (Bull, or permit to eat meat), some authorities say, began in the year 700. This is against the plain teaching of the Bible (Read Matt.15:10; I Cor.10:25; I Tim.4:1-3).
    19. The Mass was developed gradually as a sacrifice; attendance made obligatory in the 11th century.
The Bible teaches that the sacrifice of Christ was offered once and for all, and is not to be repeated, but only commemorated in the Lord's Supper (Read Heb.7:27; 9:26-28; 10:10-14).
    20. The celibacy of the priesthood was decreed by Pope Hildebrand, Boniface VIII, in ......1079
Jesus imposed no such rule, nor did any of the apostles. On the contrary, St.Peter was a married man, and St.Paul says that bishops were to have wife and children (Read I Tim.3:2,5 and 12; Matt.8:14-15).
    21. The Rosary, or prayer beads was introduced by Peter the Hermit, in the year 1090. Copied from Hindus and Mohammedans.
The counting of prayers is a pagan practice and is expressly condemned by Christ (Matt.6:5-13).
    22. The Inquisition of heretics was instituted by the Council of Verona in the year 1184. Jesus never taught the use of force to spread His religion.................................................................1184
    23. The sale of Indulgences, commonly regarded as a purchase of forgiveness and a permit to indulge in sin, began in the year..............................................................................................1190
Christianity, as taught in the Bible, condemns such a traffic, and it was the protest against this traffic that brought on the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century.
    24. The dogma of Transubstantiation was decreed by Pope Innocent III, in the year...........1215
By this doctrine the priest pretends to perform a daily miracle by changing a wafer into the body of Christ, and then he pretends to eat Him alive in the presence of his people during Mass. The Bible condemns such absurdities; for the Lord's Supper is simply a memorial of sacrifice of Christ. The spiritual presence of Christ is implied in the Lord's Supper. (Read Luke 22:19-20; John 6:35; I Cor.11:26).
    25. Confession of sins to the priest at least once a year was instituted by Pope Innocent III, in the Lateran Council, in the year.............................................................................................1215
The Bible commands us to confess our sins direct to God. (Read Psa.51:1-10; Luke 7:48; 15:21; I John 1:8-9).
    26. The adoration of the wafer (Host), was decreed by Pope Honorius in the year..............1220
So the Roman Church worships a god made human hands. This is plain idolatry and absolutely contrary to the spirit of the gospel. (Read John 4:24).
    27. The Bible forbidden to layman and placed in the Index of forbidden books by the
    Council of Valencia in...........................................................................................................1229
Jesus commanded that the Scriptures should be read by all (John 5:39; I Tim.3:15-17).
    28. The Scapular was invented by Simon Stock, an English monk, in the year.......................1287
It is a piece of brown cloth, with the picture of the Virgin and supposed to contain supernatural virtue to protect from all dangers those who wear it on naked skin. This is fetishism.
    29. The Roman Church forbade the cup to the laity, by instituting the communion of one kind in the Council of Constance in 1414
The Bible commands us to celebrate the Lord's Supper with unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine (Read Matt.26:27; I Cor. 11:26-29).
    30. The doctrine of Purgatory was proclaimed as a dogma of faith by the
    Council of Florence in...........................................................................................................1439
There is not one word in the Bible that would teach the purgatory of priests. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth us from all sins. (Read I John 1:7-9; 2:1-2; John 5:24; Rom.8:1).
    31. The doctrine of 7 Sacraments affirmed in ......................................................................1439
The Bible says that Christ instituted only two ordinances, Baptism and the Lord's Supper. (Read Mt.28:19-20; 26:26-28).
    32. The Ave Maria, part of the last half in ..........................................................................1508
It was completed 50 years afterward and finally approved by Pope Sixtus V., at the end of the 16th century.
    33. The Council of Trent, held in the year 1545, declared that Tradition is of equal authority
    with the Bible........................................................................................................................1545
By tradition is meant human teachings. The Pharisees believed the same way, and Jesus bitterly condemned them, for by teaching human tradition, they nullify the commandments of God (Read Mark 7:7-13; Col.2:8; Rev.22:18).
    34. The apocryphal books were added to the Bible also by the Council of Trent in...............1546
These books were not recognized as canonical by the Jewish Church (See Rev.22:8-9).
    35. The Creed of Pope Pius IV was imposed as the official creed 1528 years after
Christ and the apostles, in ....................................................................................................1560
True Christians retain the Holy Scriptures as their creed. Hence their creed is more than 1528 older than the creed of Roman Catholics (Read Gal.1:8).
    36. The Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary was proclaimed by Pope Pius IX in .....1854
The Bible states that all men, with the sole exception of Christ, are sinners. Mary herself had need of a Saviour (Read Rom.3:23; 5:12; Psa.51:5; Luke 1:30, 46, 47).
    37. In the year 1870 after Christ, Pope Pius IX proclaimed the dogma of Papal Infallibility..1870
This is a blasphemy and a sign of the apostasy and of the anti-christ predicted by St.Paul (Read II Th. 2:2-12; Rev. 17:1-9; 13:5-8,18).
    Many Bible students see the number of the beast (Rev.13:18), 666 in the Roman letters of the Pope's title:"VICARIVS FILII DEI". - V-5, I-1, C-100, I-1, V-5, I-1, L-50, I-1; D-500, I-1 - Total, 666.
    38. Pope Pius X, in the year 1907, condemned together with "Modernism", all the discoveries
of modern science which are not approved by the Church....................................................1907
Pius IX had done the same thing in the Syllabus of 1864.
    39. In the year 1930 Pius XI, condemned the Public Schools.............................................1930
    40. In the year 1931 the same pope Pius XI, reaffirmed the doctrine that Mary is
    "the Mother of God".........................................................................................................1931
This doctrine was first invented by the Council of Ephesus in the year 431. This heresy contrary by Mary's own words (Read Lk. 1:46-49; Jn. 2:1-5).
    41. In the year 1950 the last dogma was proclaimed by Pope Pius XII, the
    Assumption of the Virgin Mary.........................................................................................1950

What does the gospel do to those who believe?

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ : for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth

Note: Gospel is the power of God to save everyone from sin, that believeth in Jesus. The word Gospel [Gr. euaggelion] means “GOOD NEWS”. The good news is the message of salvation from sin [both power and guilt] through Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 54:14 “In righteousness (truth) shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.”

“Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones."— 9T 11 (1909).

Romans 9:28 (KJV) "For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth."

Another heavenly being exclaimed with firm and musical voice, “They have come out of great tribulation. They have walked in the fiery furnace in the world, heated intensely by the passions and caprices of men who would enforce upon them the worship of the beast and his image, who would compel them to be disloyal to the God of heaven. They have come from the mountains, from the rocks, from the dens and caves of the earth, from dungeons, from prisons, from secret councils, from the torture chamber, from hovels, from garrets. They have passed through sore affliction, deep self-denial, and deep disappointment. They are no longer to be the sport and ridicule of wicked men. They are to be no longer mean and sorrowful in the eyes of those who despise them. Remove the filthy garments from them, with which wicked men have delighted to clothe them. Give them a change of raiment, even the white robes of righteousness, and set a fair mitre upon their heads.”

They were clothed in richer robes than earthly beings had ever worn; they were crowned with diadems of glory such as human beings had never seen. The days of suffering, of reproach, of want, of hunger, are no more; weeping is past. Then they break forth in songs, loud, clear, and musical; they wave the palm branches of victory, and exclaim, “Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.”

Oh, May God endue us with his spirit and make us strong in his strength! In that great day of supreme and final triumph it will be seen that the righteous were strong, and that wickedness in all its forms and with all its pride was a weak and miserable failure and defeat. We will cling close to Jesus, we will trust him, we will seek his grace and his great salvation. We must hide in Jesus, for he is a covert from the storm, a present help in time of trouble.—Letter 6, 1884, pp. 1-4. (To G. I. Butler and S. N. Haskell, January 20, 1884.)

    Released August 29, 1962.

"Today is the day of salvation," is the message of the third angel. The only escape from "the wrath to come" is obedience to the truth as it is in Jesus (1 Thess. 1:10).

"Do not allow your minds to be diverted from the all-important theme of the righteousness of Christ by the study of theories." RH, April 5, 1892

    "We are not to know the definite time either for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit or for the coming of Christ."--Review and Herald, March 22, 1892. {Ev 221.1}

Its No Time for Time Excitement [PG21]) by Vance Ferrell:

Said the angel: “If light come, and that light is set aside or rejected, then comes condemnation and the frown of God; but before the light comes, there is no sin, for there is no light for them to reject.” Testimonies for the Church Volume 1, p. 116.1

In these thought-provoking and challenging times in which we are living, we need to be informed and discerning like “the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do…” (1 Chronicles 12:32).

Review and Herald, April 14, 1893: “The events of the future WILL be discerned by prophecy, and WILL be understood.

"We can know just where we are in this world’s history." Sermons and Talks Volume Two, p. 48.5

Jesus said;  Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to Me.  Mathew 25:34-45

"Christ is your Advocate. In this powerful, hearty recognition of God's love, take the hand of Christ, and hold it fast. His hand holds you much firmer than you can hold His hand." Letter 182,1901.

"Our need of Christ's intercession is constant. Day by day, morning and evening, the humble heart needs to offer up prayers to which will be returned answers of grace and peace and joy. 'By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually.' Hebrews 13:15." 6 Bible Commentary, p. 1078.

"As the word of life is spoken, let your heartfelt response testify that you receive the message as from heaven. This is very old-fashioned, I know; but it will be a thank offering to God for the bread of life given to the hungry soul. This response to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit will be a strength to your own soul and an encouragement to others. It will give some evidence that there are in God's building living stones that emit light.

"While we review, not the dark chapters in our experience, but the manifestations of God's great mercy and unfailing love, we shall praise far more than complain. We shall talk of the loving faithfulness of God as the true, tender, compassionate shepherd of His flock, which He has declared that none shall pluck out of His hand. The language of the heart will not be selfish murmuring and repining. Praise, like clear-flowing streams, will come from God's truly believing ones. 'Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.' 'Thou shalt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but Thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside Thee.' Psalms 23:7; 73:24, 25.

"Why not awake the voice of our spiritual songs in the travels of our pilgrimage? Why not come back to our simplicity and life of fervor? The reason why we are not more joyful is that we have lost our first love. Let us then be zealous and repent, lest the candlestick be moved out of its place.

"The temple of God is opened in heaven, and the threshold is flushed with the glory which is for every church that will love God and keep His commandments. We need to study, to meditate, and to pray. Then we shall have spiritual eyesight to discern the inner courts of the celestial temple. We shall catch the themes of song and thanksgiving of the heavenly choir round about the throne. When Zion shall arise and shine, her light will be most penetrating, and precious songs of praise and thanksgiving will be heard in the assemblies of the saints. Murmuring and complaining over little disappointments and difficulties will cease. As we apply the golden eyesalve we shall see the glories beyond. Faith will cut through the heavy shadow of Satan, and we shall see our Advocate offering up the incense of His own merits in our behalf. When we see this as it is, as the Lord desires us to see it, we shall be filled with a sense of the immensity and diversity of the love of God." 6 Testimonies; pp. 366-368.

"Children of the Lord, how precious is the promise! How full the atonement of the Saviour for our guilt! The Redeemer, with a heart of unalterable love, still pleads His sacred blood in the sinner's behalf. The wounded hands, the pierced side, the marred feet, plead eloquently for fallen man, whose redemption is purchased at such an infinite cost. Oh, matchless condescension! Neither time nor events can lessen the efficacy of the atoning sacrifice. As the fragrant cloud of incense. rose acceptably to heaven, and Aaron sprinkled the blood upon the mercy seat of ancient Israel and cleansed the people from guilt, so the merits of the slain Lamb are accepted by God today as a purifier from the defilement of sin." 4 Testimonies p. 124.

"Let us put our trust in Him. He understands all about the situation in which we are placed, and He will work in our behalf. He is honored when we trust in Him, bringing to Him all our perplexities. 'Whatsoever ye shall ask in My name: Christ says, 'that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son: John 14: 13. God's appointments and grants in our behalf are without limit. The throne of grace itself is occupied by One who permits us to call Him Father.

When the protection of human laws shall be withdrawn from those who honor the law of God, there will be, in different lands, a simultaneous movement for their destruction. As the time appointed in the decree draws near, the people will conspire to root out the hated sect. It will be determined to strike in one night a decisive blow, which shall utterly silence the voice of dissent and reproof.

The people of God--some in prison cells, some hidden in solitary retreats in the forests and the mountains--still plead for divine protection, while in every quarter companies of armed men, urged on by hosts of evil angels, are preparing for the work of death. It is now, in the hour of utmost extremity, that the God of Israel will interpose for the deliverance of His chosen. Saith the Lord; "Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth . . . to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the Mighty One of Israel. And the Lord shall cause His glorious voice to be heard, and shall show the lighting down of His arm, with the indignation of His anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones." Isaiah 30:29, 30.

With shouts of triumph, jeering, and imprecation, throngs of evil men are about to rush upon their prey, when, lo, a

dense blackness, deeper than the darkness of the night, falls upon the earth. Then a rainbow, shining with the glory from the throne of God, spans the heavens and seems to encircle each praying company. The angry multitudes are suddenly arrested. Their mocking cries die away. The objects of their murderous rage are forgotten. With fearful forebodings they gaze upon the symbol of God's covenant and long to be shielded from its overpowering brightness.

By the people of God a voice, clear and melodious, is heard, saying, "Look up," and lifting their eyes to the heavens, they behold the bow of promise. The black, angry clouds that covered the firmament are parted, and like Stephen they look up steadfastly into heaven and see the glory of God and the Son of man seated upon His throne. In His divine form they discern the marks of His humiliation; and from His lips they hear the request presented before His Father and the holy angels: "I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am." John 17:24. Again a voice, musical and triumphant, is heard, saying: "They come! they come! holy, harmless, and undefiled. They have kept the word of My patience; they shall walk among the angels;" and the pale, quivering lips of those who have held fast their faith utter a shout of victory.

It is at midnight that God manifests His power for the deliverance of His people. The sun appears, shining in its strength. Signs and wonders follow in quick succession. The wicked look with terror and amazement upon the scene, while the righteous behold with solemn joy the tokens of their deliverance. Everything in nature seems turned out of its course. The streams cease to flow. Dark, heavy clouds come up and clash against each other. In the midst of the angry heavens is one clear space of indescribable glory, whence comes the voice of God like the sound of many waters, saying: "It is done." Revelation 16:17.

That voice shakes the heavens and the earth. There is a

mighty earthquake, "such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great." Verses 17, 18. The firmament appears to open and shut. The glory from the throne of God seems flashing through. The mountains shake like a reed in the wind, and ragged rocks are scattered on every side. There is a roar as of a coming tempest. The sea is lashed into fury. There is heard the shriek of a hurricane like the voice of demons upon a mission of destruction. The whole earth heaves and swells like the waves of the sea. Its surface is breaking up. Its very foundations seem to be giving way. Mountain chains are sinking. Inhabited islands disappear. The seaports that have become like Sodom for wickedness are swallowed up by the angry waters. Babylon the great has come in remembrance before God, "to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath." Great hailstones, every one "about the weight of a talent," are doing their work of destruction. Verses 19, 21. The proudest cities of the earth are laid low. The lordly palaces, upon which the world's great men have lavished their wealth in order to glorify themselves, are crumbling to ruin before their eyes. Prison walls are rent asunder, and God's people, who have been held in bondage for their faith, are set free.

Graves are opened, and "many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth. . . awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt." Daniel 12:2. All who have died in the faith of the third angel's message come forth from the tomb glorified, to hear God's covenant of peace with those who have kept His law. "They also which pierced Him" (Revelation 1:7), those that mocked and derided Christ's dying agonies, and the most violent opposers of His truth and His people, are raised to behold Him in His glory and to see the honor placed upon the loyal and obedient.

Thick clouds still cover the sky; yet the sun now and then breaks through, appearing like the avenging eye of Jehovah.

Fierce lightnings leap from the heavens, enveloping the earth in a sheet of flame. Above the terrific roar of thunder, voices, mysterious and awful, declare the doom of the wicked. The words spoken are not comprehended by all; but they are distinctly understood by the false teachers. Those who a little before were so reckless, so boastful and defiant, so exultant in their cruelty to God's commandment-keeping people, are now overwhelmed with consternation and shuddering in fear. Their wails are heard above the sound of the elements. Demons acknowledge the deity of Christ and tremble before His power, while men are supplicating for mercy and groveling in abject terror.

Said the prophets of old, as they beheld in holy vision the day of God: "Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty." Isaiah 13:6. "Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of His majesty. The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon everyone that is proud and lofty, and upon everyone that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low." "In that day a man shall cast the idols of his silver, and the idols of his gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; to go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of His majesty, when He ariseth to shake terribly the earth." Isaiah 2:10-12, 20, 21, margin.

Through a rift in the clouds there beams a star whose brilliancy is increased fourfold in contrast with the darkness. It speaks hope and joy to the faithful, but severity and wrath to the transgressors of God's law. Those who have sacrificed all for Christ are now secure, hidden as in the secret of the Lord's pavilion. They have been tested, and before the world and the despisers of truth they have evinced their fidelity to Him

who died for them. A marvelous change has come over those who have held fast their integrity in the very face of death. They have been suddenly delivered from the dark and terrible tyranny of men transformed to demons. Their faces, so lately pale, anxious, and haggard, are now aglow with wonder, faith, and love. Their voices rise in triumphant song: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof." Psalm 46:1-3.

While these words of holy trust ascend to God, the clouds sweep back, and the starry heavens are seen, unspeakably glorious in contrast with the black and angry firmament on either side. The glory of the celestial city streams from the gates ajar. Then there appears against the sky a hand holding two tables of stone folded together. Says the prophet: "The heavens shall declare His righteousness: for God is judge Himself." Psalm 50:6. That holy law, God's righteousness, that amid thunder and flame was proclaimed from Sinai as the guide of life, is now revealed to men as the rule of judgment. The hand opens the tables, and there are seen the precepts of the Decalogue, traced as with a pen of fire. The words are so plain that all can read them. Memory is aroused, the darkness of superstition and heresy is swept from every mind, and God's ten words, brief, comprehensive, and authoritative, are presented to the view of all the inhabitants of the earth.

It is impossible to describe the horror and despair of those who have trampled upon God's holy requirements. The Lord gave them His law; they might have compared their characters with it and learned their defects while there was yet opportunity for repentance and reform; but in order to secure the favor of the world, they set aside its precepts and taught others to transgress. They have endeavored to compel

God's people to profane His Sabbath. Now they are condemned by that law which they have despised. With awful distinctness they see that they are without excuse. They chose whom they would serve and worship. "Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth Him not." Malachi 3:18.

The enemies of God's law, from the ministers down to the least among them, have a new conception of truth and duty. Too late they see that the Sabbath of the fourth commandment is the seal of the living God. Too late they see the true nature of their spurious sabbath and the sandy foundation upon which they have been building. They find that they have been fighting against God. Religious teachers have led souls to perdition while professing to guide them to the gates of Paradise. Not until the day of final accounts will it be known how great is the responsibility of men in holy office and how terrible are the results of their unfaithfulness. Only in eternity can we rightly estimate the loss of a single soul. Fearful will be the doom of him to whom God shall say: Depart, thou wicked servant.

The voice of God is heard from heaven, declaring the day and hour of Jesus' coming, and delivering the everlasting covenant to His people. Like peals of loudest thunder His words roll through the earth. The Israel of God stand listening, with their eyes fixed upward. Their countenances are lighted up with His glory, and shine as did the face of Moses when he came down from Sinai. The wicked cannot look upon them. And when the blessing is pronounced on those who have honored God by keeping His Sabbath holy, there is a mighty shout of victory.

Soon there appears in the east a small black cloud, about half the size of a man's hand. It is the cloud which surrounds the Saviour and which seems in the distance to be shrouded in darkness. The people of God know this to be the sign of the Son of man. In solemn silence they gaze upon it as it

draws nearer the earth, becoming lighter and more glorious, until it is a great white cloud, its base a glory like consuming fire, and above it the rainbow of the covenant. Jesus rides forth as a mighty conqueror. Not now a "Man of Sorrows," to drink the bitter cup of shame and woe, He comes, victor in heaven and earth, to judge the living and the dead. "Faithful and True," "in righteousness He doth judge and make war." And "the armies which were in heaven" (Revelation 19:11, 14) follow Him. With anthems of celestial melody the holy angels, a vast, unnumbered throng, attend Him on His way. The firmament seems filled with radiant forms--"ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands." No human pen can portray the scene; no mortal mind is adequate to conceive its splendor. "His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of His praise. And His brightness was as the light." Habakkuk 3:3,4. As the living cloud comes still nearer, every eye beholds the Prince of life. No crown of thorns now mars that sacred head; but a diadem of glory rests on His holy brow. His countenance outshines the dazzling brightness of the noonday sun. "And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, King of kings, and Lord of lords." Revelation 19:16.

Before His presence "all faces are turned into paleness;" upon the rejecters of God's mercy falls the terror of eternal despair. "The heart melteth, and the knees smite together, . . . and the faces of them all gather blackness." Jeremiah 30:6; Nahum 2:10. The righteous cry with trembling: "Who shall be able to stand?" The angels' song is hushed, and there is a period of awful silence. Then the voice of Jesus is heard, saying: "My grace is sufficient for you." The faces of the righteous are lighted up, and joy fills every heart. And the angels strike a note higher and sing again as they draw still nearer to the earth.

The King of kings descends upon the cloud, wrapped in flaming fire. The heavens are rolled together as a scroll, the earth trembles before Him, and every mountain and island

is moved out of its place. "Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about Him. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people." Psalm 50:3,4.

"And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every freeman, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" Revelation 6:15-17.

The derisive jests have ceased. Lying lips are hushed into silence. The clash of arms, the tumult of battle, "with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood" (Isaiah 9:5), is stilled. Nought now is heard but the voice of prayer and the sound of weeping and lamentation. The cry bursts forth from lips so lately scoffing: "The great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" The wicked pray to be buried beneath the rocks of the mountains rather than meet the face of Him whom they have despised and rejected.

That voice which penetrates the ear of the dead, they know. How often have its plaintive, tender tones called them to repentance. How often has it been heard in the touching entreaties of a friend, a brother, a Redeemer. To the rejecters of His grace no other could be so full of condemnation, so burdened with denunciation, as that voice which has so long pleaded: "Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die?" Ezekiel 33:11. Oh, that it were to them the voice of a stranger! Says Jesus: "I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out My hand, and no man regarded; but ye have set at nought all My counsel, and would none of My reproof." Proverbs 1:24, 25. That voice awakens memories which they would fain blot out--warnings despised, invitations refused, privileges slighted.

There are those who mocked Christ in His humiliation. With thrilling power come to their minds the Sufferer's words, when, adjured by the high priest, He solemnly declared: "Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven." Matthew 26:64. Now they behold Him in His glory, and they are yet to see Him sitting on the right hand of power.

Those who derided His claim to be the Son of God are speechless now. There is the haughty Herod who jeered at His royal title and bade the mocking soldiers crown Him king. There are the very men who with impious hands placed upon His form the purple robe, upon His sacred brow the thorny crown, and in His unresisting hand the mimic scepter, and bowed before Him in blasphemous mockery. The men who smote and spit upon the Prince of life now turn from His piercing gaze and seek to flee from the overpowering glory of His presence. Those who drove the nails through His hands and feet, the soldier who pierced His side, behold these marks with terror and remorse.

With awful distinctness do priests and rulers recall the events of Calvary. With shuddering horror they remember how, wagging their heads in satanic exultation, they exclaimed: "He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He be the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him. He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him." Matthew 27:42, 43.

Vividly they recall the Saviour's parable of the husbandmen who refused to render to their lord the fruit of the vineyard, who abused his servants and slew his son. They remember, too, the sentence which they themselves pronounced: The lord of the vineyard "will miserably destroy those wicked men." In the sin and punishment of those unfaithful men the priests and elders see their own course and their own just doom. And now there rises a cry of mortal agony. Louder than the shout, "Crucify Him, crucify Him," which rang through the streets of Jerusalem, swells the awful,

despairing wail, "He is the Son of God! He is the true Messiah!" They seek to flee from the presence of the King of kings. In the deep caverns of the earth, rent asunder by the warring of the elements, they vainly attempt to hide.

In the lives of all who reject truth there are moments when conscience awakens, when memory presents the torturing recollection of a life of hypocrisy and the soul is harassed with vain regrets. But what are these compared with the remorse of that day when "fear cometh as desolation," when "destruction cometh as a whirlwind"! Proverbs 1:27. Those who would have destroyed Christ and His faithful people now witness the glory which rests upon them. In the midst of their terror they hear the voices of the saints in joyful strains exclaiming: "Lo, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us." Isaiah 25:9.

Amid the reeling of the earth, the flash of lightning, and the roar of thunder, the voice of the Son of God calls forth the sleeping saints. He looks upon the graves of the righteous, then, raising His hands to heaven, He cries: "Awake, awake, awake, ye that sleep in the dust, and arise!" Throughout the length and breadth of the earth the dead shall hear that voice, and they that hear shall live. And the whole earth shall ring with the tread of the exceeding great army of every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. From the prison house of death they come, clothed with immortal glory, crying: "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" 1 Corinthians 15:55. And the living righteous and the risen saints unite their voices in a long, glad shout of victory.

All come forth from their graves the same in stature as when they entered the tomb. Adam, who stands among the risen throng, is of lofty height and majestic form, in stature but little below the Son of God. He presents a marked contrast to the people of later generations; in this one respect is shown the great degeneracy of the race. But all arise with the freshness and vigor of eternal youth. In the beginning, man

was created in the likeness of God, not only in character, but in form and feature. Sin defaced and almost obliterated the divine image; but Christ came to restore that which had been lost. He will change our vile bodies and fashion them like unto His glorious body. The mortal, corruptible form, devoid of comeliness, once polluted with sin, becomes perfect, beautiful, and immortal. All blemishes and deformities are left in the grave. Restored to the tree of life in the long-lost Eden, the redeemed will "grow up" (Malachi 4:2) to the full stature of the race in its primeval glory. The last lingering traces of the curse of sin will be removed, and Christ's faithful ones will appear in "the beauty of the Lord our God," in mind and soul and body reflecting the perfect image of their Lord. Oh, wonderful redemption! long talked of, long hoped for, contemplated with eager anticipation, but never fully understood.

The living righteous are changed "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye." At the voice of God they were glorified; now they are made immortal and with the risen saints are caught up to meet their Lord in the air. Angels "gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." Little children are borne by holy angels to their mothers' arms. Friends long separated by death are united, nevermore to part, and with songs of gladness ascend together to the City of God.

On each side of the cloudy chariot are wings, and beneath it are living wheels; and as the chariot rolls upward, the wheels cry, "Holy," and the wings, as they move, cry, "Holy," and the retinue of angels cry, "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty." And the redeemed shout, "Alleluia!" as the chariot moves onward toward the New Jerusalem.

Before entering the City of God, the Saviour bestows upon His followers the emblems of victory and invests them with the insignia of their royal state. The glittering ranks are drawn up in the form of a hollow square about their King, whose form rises in majesty high above saint and angel,

whose countenance beams upon them full of benignant love. Throughout the unnumbered host of the redeemed every glance is fixed upon Him, every eye beholds His glory whose "visage was so marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men." Upon the heads of the overcomers, Jesus with His own right hand places the crown of glory. For each there is a crown, bearing his own "new name" (Revelation 2:17), and the inscription, "Holiness to the Lord." In every hand are placed the victor's palm and the shining harp. Then, as the commanding angels strike the note, every hand sweeps the harp strings with skillful touch, awaking sweet music in rich, melodious strains. Rapture unutterable thrills every heart, and each voice is raised in grateful praise: "Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever." Revelation 1:5, 6.

Before the ransomed throng is the Holy City. Jesus opens wide the pearly gates, and the nations that have kept the truth enter in. There they behold the Paradise of God, the home of Adam in his innocency. Then that voice, richer than any music that ever fell on mortal ear, is heard, saying: "Your conflict is ended." "Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."

Now is fulfilled the Saviour's prayer for His disciples: "I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am." "Faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy" (Jude 24), Christ presents to the Father the purchase of His blood, declaring: "Here am I, and the children whom Thou hast given Me." "Those that Thou gavest Me I have kept." Oh, the wonders of redeeming love! the rapture of that hour when the infinite Father, looking upon the ransomed, shall behold His image, sin's discord banished, its blight removed, and the human once more in harmony with the divine!

With unutterable love, Jesus welcomes His faithful ones to the joy of their Lord. The Saviour's joy is in seeing, in the kingdom of glory, the souls that have been saved by His agony and humiliation. And the redeemed will be sharers in His joy, as they behold, among the blessed, those who have been won to Christ through their prayers, their labors, and their loving sacrifice. As they gather about the great white throne, gladness unspeakable will fill their hearts, when they behold those whom they have won for Christ, and see that one has gained others, and these still others, all brought into the haven of rest, there to lay their crowns at Jesus' feet and praise Him through the endless cycles of eternity.

As the ransomed ones are welcomed to the City of God, there rings out upon the air an exultant cry of adoration. The two Adams are about to meet. The Son of God is standing with outstretched arms to receive the father of our race--the being whom He created, who sinned against his Maker, and for whose sin the marks of the crucifixion are borne upon the Saviour's form. As Adam discerns the prints of the cruel nails, he does not fall upon the bosom of his Lord, but in humiliation casts himself at His feet, crying: "Worthy, worthy is the Lamb that was slain!" Tenderly the Saviour lifts him up and bids him look once more upon the Eden home from which he has so long been exiled.

After his expulsion from Eden, Adam's life on earth was filled with sorrow. Every dying leaf, every victim of sacrifice, every blight upon the fair face of nature, every stain upon man's purity, was a fresh reminder of his sin. Terrible was the agony of remorse as he beheld iniquity abounding, and, in answer to his warnings, met the reproaches cast upon himself as the cause of sin. With patient humility he bore, for nearly a thousand years, the penalty of transgression. Faithfully did he repent of his sin and trust in the merits of the promised Saviour, and he died in the hope of a resurrection. The Son of God redeemed man's failure and fall; and

now, through the work of the atonement, Adam is reinstated in his first dominion.

Transported with joy, he beholds the trees that were once his delight--the very trees whose fruit he himself had gathered in the days of his innocence and joy. He sees the vines that his own hands have trained, the very flowers that he once loved to care for. His mind grasps the reality of the scene; he comprehends that this is indeed Eden restored, more lovely now than when he was banished from it. The Saviour leads him to the tree of life and plucks the glorious fruit and bids him eat. He looks about him and beholds a multitude of his family redeemed, standing in the Paradise of God. Then he casts his glittering crown at the feet of Jesus and, falling upon His breast, embraces the Redeemer. He touches the golden harp, and the vaults of heaven echo the triumphant song: "Worthy, worthy, worthy is the Lamb that was slain, and lives again!" The family of Adam take up the strain and cast their crowns at the Saviour's feet as they bow before Him in adoration.

This reunion is witnessed by the angels who wept at the fall of Adam and rejoiced when Jesus, after His resurrection, ascended to heaven, having opened the grave for all who should believe on His name. Now they behold the work of redemption accomplished, and they unite their voices in the song of praise.

Upon the crystal sea before the throne, that sea of glass as it were mingled with fire,--so resplendent is it with the glory of God,--are gathered the company that have "gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name." With the Lamb upon Mount Zion, "having the harps of God," they stand, the hundred and forty and four thousand that were redeemed from among men; and there is heard, as the sound of many waters, and as the sound of a great thunder, "the voice of harpers harping with their harps." And they sing "a new

song" before the throne, a song which no man can learn save the hundred and forty and four thousand. It is the song of Moses and the Lamb--a song of deliverance. None but the hundred and forty-four thousand can learn that song; for it is the song of their experience--an experience such as no other company have ever had. "These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth." These, having been translated from the earth, from among the living, are counted as "the first fruits unto God and to the Lamb." Revelation 15:2, 3; 14:1-5. "These are they which came out of great tribulation;" they have passed through the time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation; they have endured the anguish of the time of Jacob's trouble; they have stood without an intercessor through the final outpouring of God's judgments. But they have been delivered, for they have "washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." "In their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault" before God. "Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them." They have seen the earth wasted with famine and pestilence, the sun having power to scorch men with great heat, and they themselves have endured suffering, hunger, and thirst. But "they shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." Revelation 7:14-17.

In all ages the Saviour's chosen have been educated and disciplined in the school of trial. They walked in narrow paths on earth; they were purified in the furnace of affliction. For Jesus' sake they endured opposition, hatred, calumny. They followed Him through conflicts sore; they endured self-denial and experienced bitter disappointments. By their

own painful experience they learned the evil of sin, its power, its guilt, its woe; and they look upon it with abhorrence. A sense of the infinite sacrifice made for its cure humbles them in their own sight and fills their hearts with gratitude and praise which those who have never fallen cannot appreciate. They love much because they have been forgiven much. Having been partakers of Christ's sufferings, they are fitted to be partakers with Him of His glory.

The heirs of God have come from garrets, from hovels, from dungeons, from scaffolds, from mountains, from deserts, from the caves of the earth, from the caverns of the sea. On earth they were "destitute, afflicted, tormented." Millions went down to the grave loaded with infamy because they steadfastly refused to yield to the deceptive claims of Satan. By human tribunals they were adjudged the vilest of criminals. But now "God is judge Himself." Psalm 50:6. Now the decisions of earth are reversed. "The rebuke of His people shall He take away." Isaiah 25:8. "They shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord." He hath appointed "to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness." Isaiah 62:12; 61:3. They are no longer feeble, afflicted, scattered, and oppressed. Henceforth they are to be ever with the Lord. They stand before the throne clad in richer robes than the most honored of the earth have ever worn. They are crowned with diadems more glorious than were ever placed upon the brow of earthly monarchs. The days of pain and weeping are forever ended. The King of glory has wiped the tears from all faces; every cause of grief has been removed. Amid the waving of palm branches they pour forth a song of praise, clear, sweet, and harmonious; every voice takes up the strain, until the anthem swells through the vaults of heaven: "Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb." And all the inhabitants of heaven respond in the ascription: "Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and

thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever." Revelation 7:10, 12.

In this life we can only begin to understand the wonderful theme of redemption. With our finite comprehension we may consider most earnestly the shame and the glory, the life and the death, the justice and the mercy, that meet in the cross; yet with the utmost stretch of our mental powers we fail to grasp its full significance. The length and the breadth, the depth and the height, of redeeming love are but dimly comprehended. The plan of redemption will not be fully understood, even when the ransomed see as they are seen and know as they are known; but through the eternal ages new truth will continually unfold to the wondering and delighted mind. Though the griefs and pains and temptations of earth are ended and the cause removed, the people of God will ever have a distinct, intelligent knowledge of what their salvation has cost.

The cross of Christ will be the science and the song of the redeemed through all eternity. In Christ glorified they will behold Christ crucified. Never will it be forgotten that He whose power created and upheld the unnumbered worlds through the vast realms of space, the Beloved of God, the Majesty of heaven, He whom cherub and shining seraph delighted to adore--humbled Himself to uplift fallen man; that He bore the guilt and shame of sin, and the hiding of His Father's face, till the woes of a lost world broke His heart and crushed out His life on Calvary's cross. That the Maker of all worlds, the Arbiter of all destinies, should lay aside His glory and humiliate Himself from love to man will ever excite the wonder and adoration of the universe. As the nations of the saved look upon their Redeemer and behold the eternal glory of the Father shining in His countenance; as they behold His throne, which is from everlasting to everlasting, and know that His kingdom is to have no end, they break forth in rapturous song: "Worthy, worthy is the Lamb

that was slain, and hath redeemed us to God by His own most precious blood!"

The mystery of the cross explains all other mysteries. In the light that streams from Calvary the attributes of God which had filled us with fear and awe appear beautiful and attractive. Mercy, tenderness, and parental love are seen to blend with holiness, justice, and power. While we behold the majesty of His throne, high and lifted up, we see His character in its gracious manifestations, and comprehend, as never before, the significance of that endearing title, "Our Father."

It will be seen that He who is infinite in wisdom could devise no plan for our salvation except the sacrifice of His Son. The compensation for this sacrifice is the joy of peopling the earth with ransomed beings, holy, happy, and immortal. The result of the Saviour's conflict with the powers of darkness is joy to the redeemed, redounding to the glory of God throughout eternity. And such is the value of the soul that the Father is satisfied with the price paid; and Christ Himself, beholding the fruits of His great sacrifice, is satisfied.

The living righteous are changed “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.” At the voice of God they were glorified; now they are made immortal and with the risen saints are caught up to meet their Lord in the air. Angels “gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Little children are borne by holy angels to their mothers’ arms. Friends long separated by death are united, nevermore to part, and with songs of gladness ascend together to the City of God.

On each side of the cloudy chariot are wings, and beneath it are living wheels; and as the chariot rolls upward, the wheels cry, “Holy,” and the wings, as they move, cry, “Holy,” and the retinue of angels cry, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty.” And the redeemed shout, “Alleluia!” as the chariot moves onward toward the New Jerusalem.

Before entering the City of God, the Saviour bestows upon His followers the emblems of victory and invests them with the insignia of their royal state. The glittering ranks are drawn up in the form of a hollow square about their King, whose form rises in majesty high above saint and angel, whose countenance beams upon them full of benignant love. Throughout the unnumbered host of the redeemed every glance is fixed upon Him, every eye beholds His glory whose “visage was so marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men.” Upon the heads of the overcomers, Jesus with His own right hand places the crown of glory. For each there is a crown, bearing his own “new name” (Revelation 2:17), and the inscription, “Holiness to the Lord.” In every hand are placed the victor’s palm and the shining harp. Then, as the commanding angels strike the note, every hand sweeps the harp strings with skillful touch, awaking sweet music in rich, melodious strains. Rapture unutterable thrills every heart, and each voice is raised in grateful praise: “Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.” Revelation 1:5, 6.

Before the ransomed throng is the Holy City. Jesus opens wide the pearly gates, and the nations that have kept the truth enter in. There they behold the Paradise of God, the home of Adam in his innocency. Then that voice, richer than any music that ever fell on mortal ear, is heard, saying: “Your conflict is ended.” “Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
