Packing Your Suitcase for Heaven
With Jesus, Our Savior, You Can Be a Child of a King

"Sara Mae, are you ready to go?" Mom asked. "Oh, yes, Mommy. I am ready. My suitcase is packed. I am ready and waiting for Jesus to come," replied Sara Mae. "I am so glad to hear that," Mommy said. "Each one of my girls, Mindy, Melissa, Mikaela, Sara are the apple of God's eye and a Child of the King. I love you so much!" Daddy said. "It won't be long, and Jesus will be here to get all of us who are ready to go," Daddy said.

"Let your imagination soar! Packing your suitcase for Heaven, really means filling our mind with what God wants us to know and do to be ready for Heaven", Daddy said. "We can think of our mind as our suitcase." Mommy said.

"Daddy, I am so glad you read the Bible to us, so we would know what we needed to pack in our suitcase. I sure would hate to miss out on this trip to Heaven," Mikaela said. "I am so glad you listened and obeyed," Daddy answered. "Girls, what is the only thing we can take to Heaven with us?" Mom asked. "Our character," Sara Mae answered. "What two things does our character consist of"? Mommy asked. Excitedly, Mikaela answered, "I know, I know! Our character is our thoughts and our feelings."

"Melissa, can you tell us that verse again in the Holy Bible that you memorized several years ago that told us what we needed to pack in our suitcase?" Daddy asked. "Sure, Daddy, I'll be happy to," Melissa said. "But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and temperance (being careful of what we put into our body - like foods, drinks, tv programs, music etc). Galatians 5:22" "Oh, thank you, Melissa. So, If we have the Holy Spirit, will we be packing our suitcase for Heaven with the fruits that the Holy Spirit has produced in our lives?" Daddy asked. Melissa answered, "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." Jesus said in Matthew 7:20."

When God's spirit dwells inside of a person, the person bears spiritual fruit - which shows that the person is changed to be like Jesus. So we can be like a fruit that bears seed - the seeds we plant are our words and actions of love, joy, peach, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, temperance. We should show spiritual fruit - if we follow God - we will show fruit - all of these things make us sweet - and people will want to hang out with you! I really like to plant the seeds that bear fruit - spiritual fruit - helping others with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and temperance! When Jesus comes inside of us - Jesus is our farmer - he helps us to be patient and kind and show forth fruit. When we read and study the Bible and pray - Jesus helps us to be like him. When people wonder how you can be patient and kind and loving - you can tell them that it is Jesus living inside you helping you to show forth His fruit. If you truly believe in Jesus your relationship will grow and you will become closer and closer to God and His Son Jesus.

"But how do we receive the Holy Spirit?" Mom asked. "You'll be surprised to learn we cannot be good on our own, or get ready for Heaven without help from God," Daddy said. "Remember? We all learned to ask God first thing every morning, Take me, O Lord, as wholly Thine. I lay all my plans at Thy feet. Use me today in Thy service. Abide with me, and let all my work be wrought in Thee," Sara Mae said.

"Yes, but what did each one of us do first, to get the Holy Spirit?" Mom asked. "It's as easy as One, Two, Three to give your life to Christ," Mindy said. " 1. Believe in Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God and that the Father and God of Jesus raised Him from the dead, and say with your mouth that "Christ is Lord". 2. Admit you are a sinner and need forgiveness. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and rose from the grave. 3. Through prayer, confess that Jesus Christ is the only way to God, and commit to live for Him for the rest of your life." Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me," in John 14:6

Mom said, "So, how do we receive the Holy Spirit? We receive the Holy Spirit by simply receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior (John 3:5-16) and ...after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. Eph 1:13 and "So if you ...know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him," Jesus says in Luke 11:13"

Feeling excited, Mindy clung to Mom's hand and said, "What really helped me to understand and be able to talk to God better, was to think of Him as my "Heavenly Daddy". It was like having a whole new way of thinking about God. This Bible verse, found in Matthew 7:11 explains, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?". "Yes, it really made me think," Mom said. "God is a lot like Santa Claus, only much, much better - the real deal!" "God made you, he knows exactly what you want and need!

All we have to do is earnestly seek Him with all of our heart, and God will help you pack your suitcase for Heaven," Daddy said. "God will love you and be your friend at all times. Are you a friend of God?" "Heaven is cheap enough," Daddy said. "Remember the verse in the Bible that says, "it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him? 1 Corinthians 2:9 and then the one in James 1:12 where it says, Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him". "I think reading the Bible is like learning the language of Heaven," Mikaela said.

"What an opportunity! It's really an easy choice and God even promises to help us pack our suitcase," Mommy said. "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. " Jer. 33:3 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:" John 10:27 "Come to think of it," Mikaela said, "The truth is with all of the fun people to meet and exciting things to do in Heaven, who would not want to be there? I cannot imagine! The best part will be seeing Jesus and God!"

I'm inviting you to get your suitcase packed for Heaven before it's too late! Why don't you pray with me right now. Say, "Our dear Heavenly Daddy, I choose you to be in control of my life now and every single day. Take me as your child and give me the Strength and Power to make it to Heaven. Help me to have my suitcase or mind packed with the fruits of your Holy Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. Help me to be ready and waiting when Jesus comes to get us and take us to Heaven." Remember, With Jesus our Saviour, You are a Child of the King!

Spiritual fruit grows in our lives when we open our lives to God's control.
God gives us patience!
God gives us love!
God gives us kindness! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
od gives us gentleness!
God gives us temperance!
God gives us goodness!
God gives us faith!
Prayers themselves are a fruit of faith

Spiritual fruit is a result of being kissed by the Son of God - Son kissed! We should plant ourselves in Christ so we can grow like Him. When we develop our spiritual fruits, by reading the Bible, praying and singing - we become like Jesus. By beholding Jesus we become changed into His Character! We put on His righteousness and His merits - put on Christ today. Ask Jesus to take you as his own child.
