Who IS the Holy Spirit?

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord, "You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?"

The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, the times when you have seen only one set of footprints, is when I carried you."

(The "Holy" Spirit is a person...God is a Spirit and He sends His Spirit through His Son into US. Yes, but NOT someone besides God or His dear Son Jesus - "He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath BOTH the Father and the Son." 2 John 1:9=it does not say three - both means two) IT is not some other person who has not "been there and done that" - he has experienced all of our temptations and trials. He did not send someone else to care for His little flock. Jesus sends us His OWN Spirit to encircle us and live in the midst of us to comfort and help us. The disciples had a hard time understanding the "Holy" Spirit also, as do many today.  The disciples did not believe the "Holy" Spirit was anyone other than ChristWe are not alone in this aspect of understanding Jesus being able to walk invisibly with us by His Spirit either. He is in the most Holy place advocating, mediating before His Father on our behalf and yet He is with us by His Spirit invisibly - walking beside us - and carrying us through our toughest times. Remember the famous poem? Footprints in the Sand?

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever--John 14:16 (Jesus often spoke of Himself in the third person...) Example: 1After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:  "Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 2For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.

There are a number of places where Jesus refers to himself in the third person. The most common is when he uses the title 'Son of Man' (by my count, there are some 78 times Jesus uses that title in the gospels!). For example Matthew 16:13 (NIV): When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?"

but He spoke in the 'third person' by calling Himself:

For example: ‘The Father loves The Son and has given everything into His hand’ (John
3:35). Jesus could have said, “My Father loves Me and has given everything into My hand”
but that was not the way Jesus spoke.

He never exalted Himself.

God expressly commanded us to, “Listen to Him.” That word ‘listen’ in this context, means more than just
hearing Jesus’ words. That means to listen, pay attention, obey, yield to His authority as
God the Father’s divine representative on this earth. If we disobey any directive given by
Jesus, we are disobeying God the Father. ‘And so each of us will have to give an account
of himself to God’ (Romans 14:12). We need to take Jesus seriously.

The disciples could not understand how Jesus could go to Heaven yet be with them here too by His Spirit. If you have Jesus, you also have His Father also. 1 John 2:23 "No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also." I certainly do not want to deny that Jesus is truly the literal Son of God - he was and is not just "role playing" as the SDA church claims today....1 John 4:15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God." 1 John 5:1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well."

"At that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you." John 14:20

2 John 1:9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

New International Version (©1984)
"Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven." Matthew 10:32

Matthew 10:32-33

King James Version (KJV)

32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

By denying that Jesus truly is the literal Son of God who God SENT from Heaven to reconcile us back to Himself, we ARE denying Jesus. By denying Jesus is the Son of God, we are denying the Father also. I certainly do not want to deny them! We need them both desperately! "He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath BOTH the Father and the Son." 2 John 1:9

This shows that Ellen White believed Christ to be the Son of God BEFORE Bethlehem.

John 17:3 (KJV) "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."

John 17:3 Amplified Bible (AMP) "And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent."

Jeremiah 9:24 (KJV) "But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth andknoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD."

Jeremiah 9:24 Amplified Bible (AMP) "But let him who glories glory in this: that he understands and knows Me [personally and practically, directly discerning and recognizing My character], that I am the Lord, Who practices loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the Lord."

God is the Father of Christ; Christ is the Son of God. To Christ has been given an exalted position. He has been made equal with the Father. All the counsels of God are opened to His Son. 8T 268

Based on my intense study of this topic over the past 1.5 years, I believe Jesus has been MADE equal with His/our Father and His/our God for the PURPOSE of reconciling us back to GOD. Christ has been MADE equal with His Father for a short time - Christ has been GIVEN ALL AUTHORITY in Heaven and earth for the purpose of reconciling us back to His Father and God. AFTER the plan of Salvation is COMPLETED, then Christ will give His authority that he was given - BACK to His Father and His God - so that all things will be subject unto the Father and God of ALL. One Sovereign being who is the ONLY wise, IMMORTAL (meaning He can NEVER die) invisible God.

1Cor 15:28 "The Son of God was next in authority to the great Lawgiver. He knew that His life alone could be sufficient to ransom fallen man." --Spirit of Prophecy, vol. 2, page 9, also in Lift Him Up, page 24

There are many reasons that Jesus life ALONE could ransom fallen man: the biggest one that comes instantly to my mind is that Jesus' Father and GOD could not die, because HE is IMMORTAL. Immortal means He CANNOT ever die.

"Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen." 1 Timothy 1:17. "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." 1 Corinthians 8:6

"He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath
BOTH the Father and the Son." 2 John 1:9

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, andwe will come unto him, and make our abode with him." John 14:23

Is Jesus God? The answer of course is "Yes".

God is the Father of Christ; Christ is the Son of God. To Christ has been given an exalted position. He has been made equal with the Father. All the counsels of God are opened to His Son. 8T 268

1 Corinthians 8:5 "For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)"

But does Jesus have a God & Father?

1.) The testimony of the Apostles says yes; 1Pet 1:3, Eph 1:3, 2Cor 11:31

2.) The testimony of Jesus says yes; Jn 20:17, Rev 3:12, Isa 49:4-5

3.)  The testimony of God the Father says yes; Heb 1:9

Here we see perfect harmony from the Apostles to Jesus and the Father, all testifying that Jesus has a God and Father.

Matthew 11:27 "All things have been handed over to me by My Father..."

Jesus has been made a God by His God and Father to be our bond, our surety, our redeemer, he has paid the price of our sin their (God and Jesus) great plan of Salvation. After this plan has been completed, Jesus will give His authority back to His Father. See 1Cor 15:28, which deals with, after the plan of salvation is over.

"And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all." 1 Cor 15:28

“Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye believe in God, believe ALSO in me!”—John 14:1

God has made His Son equal with Him -a surety or a bond for fallen mankind- so Jesus has been MADE a mighty God, not made into His Father, the supreme sovereign GOD over all, but a God equal with Himself, until this great plan of Salvation is over.  1 Corinthians 8:5 "For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)" Then Jesus will give BACK His authority as stated in  "And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all." 1 Cor 15:28

This is a special JOB, (redeeming mankind or reconciling mankind back to His Father from Satan) God has given His Son, and His Son was in agreement and even volunteered for the JOB and even pleaded with His Father for this JOB. We (redeemed mankind) are part of Jesus inheritance, given to Jesus by His Father & supreme, Sovereign GOD of ALL.

Jesus says in John 20:17 (KJV) “Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to MY God and your God.'"

Christ volunteered and pleaded with His Father for the job of saving mankind. God was reconciling us back to Himself through His only begotten son! Do you think that the Father yielded up His dearly beloved Son without a struggle? No, no. It was even a struggle with the God of heaven, whether to let guilty man perish, or to give His beloved Son to die for him.

Christ ALONE was able to represent the Deity to mankind. He who had been in the presence of the Father from the beginning, He who was the express image of the invisible God, was alone sufficient to accomplish this work. No verbal description could reveal God to the world. Through a life of purity, a life of perfect trust and submission to the will of God, a life of humiliation such as even the highest seraph in heaven would have shrunk from, God Himself must be revealed to humanity. In order to do this, our Saviour clothed His divinity with humanity. He employed the human faculties, for only by adopting these could He be comprehended by humanity. Only humanity could reach humanity. He lived out the character of God through the human body which God had prepared for Him. He blessed the world by living out in human flesh the life of God, thus showing that He had the power to UNITE humanity to divinity.

“It was a difficult task for the Prince of life to carry out the plan which He had undertaken for the salvation of man, in clothing His divinity with humanity. He had received honor in the heavenly courts, and was familiar with absolute powerIt was as difficult for Him to keep the level of humanity as for men to rise above the low level of their depraved natures and be partakers of the divine nature.”

Christ’s life on this earth was like the born again Christian’s must be—a life of perfect trust in God. He trusted Himself to His Father; we trust ourselves to Him. He lived without depending upon His perfect nature which He had set aside before He left heaven. We must live, realizing as He did, that of ourselves we can do nothing. We die to our old nature and live by Christ who dwells within us. Christ refused to use His divine (natural) nature!

We must never revert to using our human (natural) nature which is dead, which we must keep dead continuously. 2 Cor. 4: 10 -12

Satan tempted both Christ and us in the same way, by trying to break our relationship or dependence upon God. This is why we must constantly think positionally and not conditionally. Being justified, we are members of God’s family—a fact we must never forget. Whenever we do wrong Satan tries to use our failure as evidence that our position is not real but only imaginary. He also tried to force Christ to think the same way.

"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:18-20

HOLY SPIRIT. Jesus said "And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age" John 17:23 "I in them, and you in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them, as you have loved me

"Cumbered with humanity, Christ could not be in every place personally; therefore it was altogether for their advantage that He should leave them, go to His father, and send them Holy Spirit to be His successor on earth. The Holy Spirit is Himself divested of the personality of humanity and independent thereof. He would represent Himself as present in all places by His Holy Spirit, as the Omnipresent. "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall (although unseen by you), [THIS PHRASE WAS ADDED BY ELLEN WHITE.] teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you" [John 14:26]. "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will come not unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you" [John 16:7]. {14MR 23.3}

“It is through the Spirit that Christ dwells in us; and the Spirit of God, received into the heart by faith, is the beginning of the life eternal.” Desire of Ages, page 388. “They beheld Him ‘whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.’ John 14:17. The only way in which we can gain a more perfect apprehension of truth is by keeping the heart tender and subdued by the Spirit of Christ.” Ibid p. 494.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and WE will come unto him, and make OUR abode with him. (Notice it's the Father and the Son who makes their home INSIDE US? Not three, only two beings live inside us by their Spirit.)

Romans 8:9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

The disciples had a hard time understanding the "Holy" Spirit also, as do many today. The disciples did not believe the "Holy" Spirit was anyone other than Christ.

"The Saviour has given the promise of His presence to all who labor in the spirit of true service. "All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth," He says; "go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." As you present the Word to your hearers, claim this promise of Christ's presenceThere is no day, no hour of the day, when He will not be near you by His Holy SpiritHe is in every meeting that is held in His name. His promise is given for as long as time shall last." AUCR, December 30, 1907 par. 3

"Christ gave his followers a positive promise that after his ascension he would send them his Spirit. "Go ye therefore," he said, "and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father [a personal God], and of the Son [a personal Prince and Saviour], and of the Holy Ghost [sent from heaven to represent Christ]: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world."" RH, October 26, 1897 par. 9

Note from the two quotes above that it is Christ who is with us by His own "Holy" Spirit. This truth is also confirmed from "The Desire of Ages":

While Jesus ministers in the sanctuary above, He is still by His Spirit the minister of the church on earth. He is withdrawn from the eye of sense, but His parting promise is fulfilled, "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Matt. 28:20. While He delegates His power to inferior ministers, His energizing presence is still with His church. DA 166

Answer; The Holy Spirit is certainly a living person. It is the person of Christ, His Spirit very life with His church. Jesus lives inside consecrated commandment keeping bodies. It is Jesus INVISIBLE, walking UNSEEN beside us and living INSIDE us, helping us to be SIN-FREE!

Incarnation Taxes Highest Powers of Mind

"This earth has been honored and blessed with presence of the Son of God. In the Scriptures we red of His INCARNATION, His teaching, His miracles, His death, and His resurrection. The effort to understand these wonderful subjects puts to the tax the highest powers of the mind, and then there is an infinity beyond which can not be exhausted. The oftener the mind is called to this study, the stronger and clearer it will become. In the daily life will be revealed the mysteries of godliness, which may be experienced, but can not be explained. Throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity the redeemed will study these subjects, ever gaining from them a deeper and clearer knowledge of God and of Christ." E.G. White, The Signs of the Times, 04-26-05, Pr. 01.

"It requires considerable effort to climb hills, to get upon the rock. And so we find that it will require the exercise of all our abilities, of every spiritual nerve and muscle, to get upon the Living Rock, the Saviour of mankind. It will require all our mental and spiritual power to understand the Word of God, to understand the INCARNATION of Christ, to understand the great plan of redemption. The mind may faint beneath the effort, and yet, there is an infinity beyond. You have only then touched the surface." E.G. White, Manuscript Releases Volume Nine, pr. 3, P. 68.

Incarnation --Satan would Mystify: "This is a great mystery, a mystery that will not be fully, completely understood in all its greatness until the translation of the redeemed shall take place. Then the power and greatness and efficacy of the gift of God to man will be understood. But the enemy is determined that this gift shall be so mystified that it will become as nothingness." E.G. White, SDA Bible Commentary,Vol. 7A, p. 444.

"There is no one who can explain the mystery of the incarnation of Christ. Yet we know that He came to this earth and lived as a man among man. The man Christ Jesus was not the Lord God Almighty, yet Christ and the Father are one. The deity did not sink under the agonizing torture of Calvary, yet it is nonetheless true that 'God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." E.G. White, Lift Him Up, p. 235.

James White on the Trinity.

James Springer White"Jesus prayed that his disciples might be one as he was one with his Father. This prayer did not contemplate one disciple with twelve heads, but twelve disciples, made one in object and effort in the cause of their master. Neither are the Father and the Son parts of the “three-one God.” They are two distinct beings, yet one in the design and accomplishment of redemption. The redeemed, from the first who shares in the great redemption, to the last, all ascribe the honor, and glory, and praise, of their salvation, to both God and the Lamb." (James White, 1868, Life Incidents, page 343)

IF you say you don't worship the same trinity god as the Catholic - that you believe in three gods? God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit...this breaks the ten commandments Where God says "Thou Shalt have NO OTHER gods before ME".  According to James 2:10 if we break one commandment we've broken them all.

"As the worker studies the life of Christ, and the character of His mission is dwelt upon, each fresh search will reveal something more deeply interesting than has yet been unfolded. The subject is inexhaustible. The study of the incarnation of Christ, His atoning sacrifice and mediatorial work, will employ the mind of the diligent student as long as time shall last.Gospel Workers, p. 251. SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 7a, p. 444.

"No one can search the Scriptures in the spirit of Christ without being rewarded. When man is willing to be instructed as a little child, when he submits wholly to God, he will find the truth in His word. If men would be obedient, they would understand the plan of God's government. The heavenly world would open its chambers of grace and glory for exploration. Human beings would be altogether different from what they now are, for by exploring the mines of truth men would be ennobled.  The mystery of redemption, THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST, HIS ATONING SACRIFICE, would not be as they are now, vague in our minds. They would be not only better understood, but altogether more highly appreciated."  E.G. White, Christ's Object Lessons, p. 114.

The death which was ours is eternal, not three days and nights in a tomb.

The Truth About God

In an attempt to study a subject like this one there are two basic facts we need to bear in mind. The first is  that the Bible, the Holy Scriptures, are the words of God, and are referred to more specifically as, "The written word." The second fact is that Jesus is also called "The Word" (John. 1:1,2,14) and He is referred to more specifically as "The Living Word."

With these two basic facts in mind. Let us look at the deeper aspects of what God has revealed to us about Himself in His own inspired word (2 Tim. 3:16).

In Mark 12:28 the Bible tells of a scribe who came to Jesus with a question. His question was simply this: "Which is the greatest commandment of all?" Jesus responded to his question by quoting Deuteronomy 6:4. In verse 29 Jesus answered him this way:

‘The first of all the commandments is, hear O Israel the Lord our God is one Lord."

Having heard this answer, the scribe said to Jesus,

"Well Master Thou hast said the truth, for there is one God and there is none other but He."

(Mark 12:32)

Jesus said of His Heavenly Father that He was ‘ONE’ singular, and the scribe said He was absolutely correct.

In His last prayer recorded by John in the 17th chapter of the book of John, Jesus made the same declaration, listen to what He said in verse 3:- "And this is Life eternal that they might know Thee the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent." Jesus did not refer to Himself as God, did He? Jesus called HIS Heavenly Father the ONLY true God, didn’t He? And Jesus made a distinction between Himself and the only true God, didn’t He? Sure He did!

In Matt 19:16,17 there was a rich young ruler who wanted to know what to do to get eternal life so he came to Jesus and he did not call Him by His earthly name. Let’s see how he greeted Jesus, and how Jesus responded. "And behold one came and said unto him, Good Master..." What did he call Jesus? Sure! "GOOD MASTER." And what was Jesus’ response? He (Jesus) said unto him, "why callest Thou me good? There is none good but One that is God!"

This question may really sound strange but let’s answer it anyway. If a couple means two how many does ONE mean? You are probably thinking how strange that question is. One is one, and it cannot be anymore. Right?

Some time ago back in the Old Testament the children of Israel were held as slaves in Egypt for about four hundred years. They were living right in the heart of pagan sun worship, and this corrupted their true concept of God. After delivering them from the Egyptian bondage God had to deal with one of the most insidious falsehoods ever fostered on mankind. So from the top of Mount Sinai He thundered down this command in Loud and clear tones. "Thou shalt have no other Gods before ME." What was the very Last word in that statement! Sure it is "ME" – singular. Read it carefully and make sure it does not say "US" plural.

It is a known fact that the Egyptians were pagan sun worshippers and under the leadership of Nimrod the grandson of Noah they built a city called Babylon (Babel). Nimrod got the people to love him and eventually to worship him as god. His wife Semiramis and her son Tammuz were also worshipped. They were worshipped together as the ‘Heavenly Trio.’ So God had an important message for His people. As they stood at the foot of the mount He told them they had one God and one God only.

Before his death. Moses gathered all the people together and like a father speaking to his children, Moses told them that there was only one way that they could have a long, happy and prosperous life. In Deuteronomy 6:4,5 he says this,

"Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord, and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul and with all thy might."

Moses wanted the people to understand that our heavenly Father is to get the major portion of our love and affections in order that we may be happy and prosperous. Thus a full understanding of who God is, is very important. Remember the scribe in Mark 12? When Jesus heard his testimony about God, He said to him "Thou art not far from the Kingdom of God." (vs 34) – Likewise in His last prayer in John 17:3, the Lord tells us that eternal life hangs upon our concept of God and our acceptance of Him. In other words it is more than a matter of simply losing your life, here and now. It is a matter of either living eternally or not ever existing again,

Paul understood the truth of scripture that there is only one God, so in writing to the Corinthians, he said this:

"But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things and we in Him, and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by Him"

(1 Cor. 8:6)

In his letter to Timothy Paul says this:

"Now unto the King eternal , immortal invisible, the only wise God, be glory and honour forever and ever amen."

(1 Tim 1:17) He also stated in 1 Tim. 2:5:-

"For them is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

In writing to the Christians at Ephesus Paul told them the same truth about the Father. In Ephesians 4:4–6 he says this:

"There is one body and one spirit even as you are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, ONE GOD and Father of all who is above all and through all and in you all."

Do you know why we have been looking at these Biblical statements? In order for you to grasp the tremendous significance of this widely accepted falsehood, that there are three Gods in one and one God in three. Can you see that it is a concrete fact that our heavenly Father is the foremost being in the entire universe? He is the one supreme Being and from Him comes all life and force. The Bible tells us that God the Father is the only true God... period!

What about Jesus, Who is He?

Let us see the answer God has already given us in one New Testament statement. You will find it in Matt. 3:16,17.

"And Jesus when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water and lo the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon Him and a voice from heaven saying this is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased."

Who did God say Jesus was! Sure, His Son, right? God’s word has a lot to say about Christ’s true relationship to God. Probably one of the most familiar and most quoted verses in the Bible is John 3:16. Before you start to quote it look at it again and particularly one crucial phrase we usually skim over:

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only BEGOTTEN SON. . ." In the original language from which the Bible was translated, the word translated as only begotten also means "only offspring" or "only."

Thus Jesus was the only offspring or seed of God! In the 5th Chapter of John. Jesus says this of Himself in vs. 36:

"1 have greater witness than that of John (the baptist) for the works which the Father has given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me that the Father hath sent me."

He made the same claim He made in vs. 30, which is, "the Father hath sent me."

In the 14th chapter of John. Jesus spake of His departure from this world and His return again. Look at what He says in vs 28:

"ye have heard how I said to you, l go away and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I go unto the Father: For My Father is greater than I."

Add to that what He said in John 14:10:

"I speak not of Myself; but the Father that dwelleth in me. He doeth the work."

Did you grasp those amazing claims Jesus just made? He said that He spoke only the things His heavenly Father taught Him. Another time He said He could do nothing of Himself. But the most amazing thing He said was that the Father was dwelling in Him while He was here on earth!

GOD’S SPIRIT WAS IN HIM!!!

In the divine program and government of God there is an unmistakable chain of command. Unquestionably, God our heavenly Father reigns supreme, and our Lord Jesus Christ stands next to Him. Jesus said, "For my Father is greater than I."

There are two superimportant passages we must Examine before we go any further, because they show clearly when Jesus was brought forth and when He was crowned as equal to God. The first passage is found in the New Testament in Heb. 1:1-5. See if you can picture this overwhelming scene.

"God who at sundry (various) times and in divers (different) manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, By whom also He made the worlds (Look at this next statement); who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person (He looked just like His Father), and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they (God gave His Son an inheritance isn’t that great! Lets see What that inheritance was). For unto which of the angels said He at any time, thou art my son, this DAY have I BEGOTTEN thee?"

Just think beloved that there was a certain specific day when God brought forth His Son .... Way, way back (even though it is impossible to think back that far into the past) God brought forth His Son! There was a time when Christ was not in existence! Way back at sometime far beyond our comprehension and imagination Christ Jesus issued forth from God the Father. Amazing isn’t it,

Continuing with the questions. This question was asked in vs. 6.

"And again I will be to Him a Father and He shall be to Me a Son. And again when he bringeth in the FIRST BEGOTTEN into the world He saith and let all the angels of God worship Him."

At a specific point in time, God the Father brought His Son Christ Jesus right beside Him and told all the angels that now Christ was to be worshipped like Himself. This is proclaiming Christ as Divine and worthy of praise and adoration. Therefore there was a point and time when Christ was set up as equal divinity. Vs. 8 makes this clear: "But unto His Son He saith Thy throne 0 God is forever and ever." It will last forever. Isn’t it amazing how we read something in scripture that was always there and when the truth of it reaches you, it seems new?

There is an astonishing Old Testament passage that is almost a perfect parallel to what we just read in Heb. 1, only this passage goes on to tell us when these thing happened to Christ Jesus. That passage is found in Prov. 8:22-30. Here is what it says,

"The Lord (God the Father) possessed me in the beginning of His way before His works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was"

When did the Father set His Son before the angels of heaven and all the unfallen Universe and tell them that He was now to be worshipped like He Himself was? Sure! Before the earth was created. Let’s continue and we will see this clearly.

"When there was no depths (of the sea) I was brought forth: when there was no fountains (rivers and lakes) abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, was I brought forth."

That is quite clear isn’t it? It was before the creation of the earth. As we read on it becomes more evident that it was before planet earth and our solar system were created.

"While as yet He had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest parts of the dust of the world, when He prepared the heavens (surrounding our planet) I was there. When He set a compass upon the face of the deep, when he established the clouds above, when He strengthened the fountains of the deep; when He gave to the sea His decree, that the waters should not pass His commandment; when We appointed the foundations of the earth: then I was by Him, (watch this) as one brought up with Him and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him." (Prov. 8:22-31)

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ declares that He existed before He came to this earth. We know that, because He said so several times in the New Testament. But in this passage He takes us back to the time He was BEGOTTEN. Look again at what He said:

"Then I was by Him as one brought up with Him and I was daily His delight rejoicing always before Him."

God’s word establishes the fact that there is only one supreme being. One God over and above all. It clearly tells us that God brought forth a Son and He came into being through His Father’s omnipotent miraculous powers. Therefore the Son has not been in existence as long as His Father, because naturally the Father is always older than His Son.

THE MISSING THIRD PERSON

To come to a full understanding of this tremendous truth, that God is inspiring humans to re-discover in these closing days of time, Let’s look first at a strange and puzzling revelation. In Matt 25:31 Jesus says:

"When the Son of man shall come in all His glory and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory."

Add to that text Rev 3:21 which says,

"To Him that overcometh will 1 grant to sit with Me in My throne even as I also overcame and am set down with My Father in His throne"

So far you have seen that God has a throne and His Son has a throne. NO ONE ELSE!!

There are two reminders of this fact in the last book of the Bible, Revelation. In chapter 21:22, 23 we read:

"And 1 saw no temple therein for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb (Jesus Christ) are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun neither of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God did lighten it and the Lamb is the light thereof."

There was no temple, sun or moon, because God and His Son were there! Of course you will realize that the term Lamb is a symbolic term for Jesus who was slain as a lamb for you and me. OK! In Rev. 22:1,3 John says:

"And he showed me a pure river of water of life clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. And there shall be no more curse; but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it."

This is so strange at first because there is nowhere in the entire Bible that tells of any one else having a throne in heaven but God and His Son!! Then it is even more strange when you cannot find any dignitaries on the new earth except God, His Son, the faithful angels and the redeemed. There is someone missing, Isn’t there? I mean if the doctrine of the Trinity is correct, then there must be another throne for the third God or even if He doesn’t have a throne He should even be mentioned as being in heaven or on the new earth!!

According to the scripture Satan has always wanted to be leader in heaven and in all the universe. God quoted Lucifer’s evil ambitions in Isaiah 14:14, "1 will be Like the Most High." And one of the most dangerous blasphemous Lies ever to be fostered on the unsuspecting people of planet earth is the one designed to place Satan in that position where he fulfills his obsessions to be like God! Let me explain: When the Roman Catholic church made real compromises with the pagan Romans, in order to get them to become Christians they allowed those sun worshippers to became members and still cling to their beliefs. Gradually the church changed many of its own beliefs and modified them so the pagan worshippers would be more comfortable. One of the most drastic alterations of true Christianity was the acceptance of the pagan concept of three Gods in one and one God in three persons. The sun worshippers had Nimrod, Semiramis and Tammuz, as a pagan Trinity, so it was easy for them to accept, God the Father, God the Son, and (Watch this) God the Holy Spirit!!! Satan had a trinity and now the Catholic Church has a trinity which she has established in every denomination and religious body.

Nowhere in scripture will you find it even hinting that there are three separate distinct Gods. The Bible does not suggest that there were three individuals involved in the creation of the world! John 1:10 and Heb. 1:2 and many other passages makes it clear that there were two and just two: God the Father and Jesus Christ His Son.

If that sounds really wayout, then let’s consider the facts. The book is St. John and the place is chapter 14. May I say this is one of the most reassuring statements Jesus made to us before He left earth to go back to heaven. In this passage Jesus said some things that the vast majority of Christians have missed for centuries! John 14:16 reads this way,

"And I will pray the Father and He will give you another Comforter that He may abide with you forever."

Who did Jesus say will live with us forever? Was it the Comforter, or was it Christ, the Comforter, lets see the answer. Vs. 17.

"Even the Spirit of Truth: whom the world cannot receive because it seeth Him not neither knoweth Him. But ye know him, for (or because) He dwelleth with you (present) and shall be in you (future)."

Wait a minute! Did you see that friend? Who did the disciples know then? Pentecost had not yet come. Who was dwelling with them? Wasn’t it Jesus? Sure it was! Now if that is not clear enough, look at verse 18: "I will not leave you comfortless. I will come to you." Man that’s strong!!! Now you see, don’t you? Jesus said He would be the Comforter. Thus the Comforter would simply be the INVISIBLE CHRIST that would be in them.

The reason why the Bible speaks of Jesus and the Holy Ghost as one, and the same, is because they are really the same. Here is further proof. In Hebrews 3:7-11, you will find the same author talking about the Holy Ghost leading the children of Israel through the wilderness. Yet you know that it was Jesus Christ. Paul goes on to quote Jesus and contributes it to the Holy Spirit. In Romans 8:9 Paul brings out a stunning truth. Here it is:

"But ye art not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the SPIRIT OF GOD dwell in you. Now if any man have not the SPIRIT OF CHRIST he is none of His."

God’s word said that the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ are the same.

Because of this fact an amazing explanation explodes before us. The reason why we find the term "Holy Spirit" is simply because God and Christ Jesus are Holy. It is their Spirit, so you have the term "Holy Spirit". Remember John 20:22? Jesus came to His disciples and did something. Let us see what He did:

"And when He (Jesus) had said this. He breathed on them (the disciples) and said receive ye the Holy Ghost."

They did receive Christ’s Spirit, didn’t they! David asked the Lord a question and went on to answer. In Psalm 139:7-10 you’ll find this recorded:

"Whither shall I go from Thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from Thy presence?"

David said the Lord’s Spirit is the same as His presence.

"If I ascend up into heaven thou art there; If I make my bed in hell behold thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there shall Thy hand lead me and thy right hand shall hold me."

Therefore the Spirit of God is His real, tangible, personal presence.

In Jeremiah 23:23,24 God says He can be right here with us in a personal way and be in heaven, all at the same time.

"Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? Saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? Saith the Lord."

Therefore, God can pour out His Spirit on any believer anywhere in the entire universe. His Spirit guides, impresses and convicts human beings just as strongly as if He were present physically and visibly.

All through the scriptures we read of the Spirit of God and of the Spirit of Christ. If the Holy Spirit was a real tangible God as the Father and His Son, why do we not read of the Spirit of the Spirit? Think about that!!!

Therefore the disciples could not realize the presence of the Holy Spirit as long as Jesus was with them. But when He went away, the Spirit came. This made Jesus present with everyone everywhere. Jesus could now be with one individual in one city, and with another believer in another city in another country all at the same time. Let me put it another way. Christ Jesus is our personal Saviour. Where ever we may be He will go with us. He is also the Comforter He promised to send to us from the Father. Only it is another form of Himself.

Satan through the Catholic Church has sold to the world a counterfeit sanctuary service; a counterfeit salvation and a counterfeit holy day of rest and worship. DON’T LET HIM SELL YOU A COUNTERFEIT COMFORTER !!! And don’t sell yourself out to him through the false doctrine of the TRINITY.

THE GODHEAD

By now you probably have seen enough Bible facts to have a solid foundation of faith, and you probably have also come to the realization that there is absolutely no such doctrine as the "TRINITY" in the Bible. So then you are now ready to discover the truth about a widely used term "THE GODHEAD." In the entire Bible you’ll find this word mentioned just three times. Let’s look at all three briefly.

The first is Acts 17:29.

"For as much then as we are the offspring of God we ought not to think that the GODHEAD is like unto gold, or silver, or stone graven by art and man’s device."

The second is Romans 1:20.

"For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made even His eternal power and GODHEAD."

The third is Col. 2:9.

"For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the GODHEAD bodily."

Now please answer this question. Were those passages talking about three Gods in one and one God in three? Before you answer, examine this fact: In each one of those passages where the word GODHEAD is found, it comes from the Greek root word THEOS. And THEOS simply means Divinity, Divine, Divine Nature, or Deity. From this word THEOS, we get the word theology which means the study of Divinity. When you examine those three verses you find that they are all talking about God, the Father, the Supreme Deity. And the plain simple truth is that the Father is the GODHEAD. That’s what Paul says in 1 Cor. 11:3.

"But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ and the head of the woman is the man, and (Watch this) the HEAD OF CHRIST IS GOD."

Therefore God the Father is the Godhead. His Divinity dwells in Christ.

Thus the plan of salvation can be summed up in two scripture passages.

The first is 2 Cor. 5:19

". . .God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself."

The second Col. 1:27

" ... Christ in you the hope of glory."

Beloved you are faced with a decision of eternal consequences. Will you obey the word of God or the word of man? Surely you will accept the word of God and reject this false satan-inspired, man-made Trinity doctrine. WONT YOU?

--

I pray "that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: Ephesians 1:17

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!” —John 14:12-14

Authority on Earth. For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. (Mark 13: 34)

“They that forsake the law praise the wicked.” Proverbs 28:4. When those who are uniting with the world, yet claiming great purity, plead for union with those who have ever been the opposers of the cause of truth, we should fear and shun them as decidedly as did Nehemiah. Such counsel is prompted by the enemy of all good. It is the speech of timeservers, and should be resisted as resolutely today as then. Whatever influence would tend to unsettle the faith of God’s people in His guiding power, should be steadfastly withstood.

In Nehemiah’s firm devotion to the work of God, and his equally firm reliance on God, lay the reason of the failure of his enemies to draw him into their power.

The soul that is indolent falls an easy prey to temptation; but in the life that has a noble aim, an absorbing purpose, evil finds little foothold. The faith of him who is constantly advancing does not weaken; for above, beneath, beyond, he recognizes Infinite Love, working out all things to accomplish His good purpose. God’s true servants work with a determination that will not fail because the throne of grace is their constant dependence.

God has provided divine assistance for all the emergencies to which our human resources are unequal. He gives the Holy Spirit to help in every strait, to strengthen our hope and assurance, to illuminate our minds and purify our hearts. He provides opportunities and opens channels of working. If His people are watching the indications of His providence, and are ready to co-operate with Him, they will see mighty results." --{Prophets and Kings, Page 660}

Ecclesiastes 12:13 "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."

--
Yours in hope of immortality at the appearing of Jesus,

Leviticus 20:26 "And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine." This Scripture has been termed "the forgotten commandment".

John 6:29: Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him (Jesus) whom he hath sent.

"We are to ask blessings from God that we may communicate to others. The capacity for receiving is preserved only by imparting. We cannot continue to receive heavenly treasure without communicating to those around us." Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 142.3

“Bear in mind that the time will never come when the shadow of Satan will not be cast athwart our pathway to obstruct our faith and eclipse the light coming from the Sun of Righteousness. Our faith must not stagger, but cleave through that shadow. We have an experience that is not to be buried in the darkness of doubt. Our faith is not in feeling, but in Truth (Thy Word is Truth ! - John 17:17). None of us need flatter ourselves that while the world is progressing in wickedness we shall have no difficulties.

It is these very difficulties that bring us to the audience chamber of the Most High, to seek counsel of the One who is infinite in wisdom. He loves to have us seek Him; He loves to have us trust Him and believe His Word. If we had no perplexities, no trials, we would become self-sufficient and lifted up in ourselves. The true saints will be purified, and made white, and tried.” - 1NL p. 59 (Letter 58, 1909)

When perplexities arise, and difficulties confront you, look not for help to humanity. Trust all with GodThe practice of telling our difficulties to others only makes us weak, and brings no strength to them. It lays upon them the burden of our spiritual infirmities, which they cannot relieve. We seek the strength of erring, finite man, when we might have the Strength of the unerring, infinite God!

You need not go to the ends of the earth for wisdom, for God is near. It is not the capabilities you now possess or ever will have that will give you success. It is that which the LORD can do for you. We need to have far less confidence in what man can do and far more confidence in what God can do for every believing soulHe longs to have you reach after Him by faith.

With your Bible in your hands say, I have done as Thou hast said. I present Thy Promise, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you."

We must not only pray in Christ's name, but by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. This explains what is meant when it is said that the Spirit "maketh intercession for us, with groanings which cannot be uttered." Romans 8:26Such prayer God delights to answer. When with earnestness and intensity we breathe a prayer in the name of Christ, there is in that very intensity a pledge from God that He is about to answer our prayer "exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think." Ephesians 3:20.

Christ has said, "What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."  Mark 11:24. "Whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." John 14:13

And the beloved John, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, speaks with great plainness and assurance: "If we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us: and if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him." 1 John 5:14, 15. Then press your petition to the Father in the name of Jesus. God will honor that name.

The rainbow round about the throne is an assurance that God is True, that in Him is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. We have sinned against Him, and are undeserving of His favor; yet He Himself has put into our lips that most wonderful of pleas, "Do not abhor us, for Thy name's sake; do not disgrace the throne of Thy glory; remember, break not Thy Covenant with us." Jeremiah 14:21

Proverbs 3:5-6

King James Version (KJV)

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Habakkuk 1:5 (KJV) "Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you."

John 14:6

King James Version (KJV)

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (Jesus the Son of God).

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (Jesus the Son of God).

Jesus was the only offspring or seed of God - the word translated as only begotten also means "only offspring" or "only." unique = one of a kind! John 3:16, 1 John 3:9.

The blood of Christ is the very LIFE of Christ. There is POWER in the blood of Christ.

"For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul" Leviticus 17:11.

Hebrews 9:22
In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Hebrews 9:14
How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

Hebrews 13:12
And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate (holy City - New Jerusalem=144,000) to make the people holy through his own blood.

Hebrews 10:10
And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Hebrews 10:22
let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

"And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit" 1 Corinthians 15:45.

The Father was "in" Him
He was "in" the Father
The Father and Son will be "in" us
We will be "in" Christ
"At that day you shall know that I am in my Father, AND you in me, AND I in you" John 14:20.

John 6:63 "

"'The words that I speak are spirit and life' John 6:63. Christ is not here referring to His doctrine, but to His person, the divinity of His character.” 1 Selected Messages p. 249.

John 17:23 "in them, and thou in me, that they may be MADE perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me." in another translation: "in them and Youin Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me."John 17:23 Amplified Bible (AMP)
"One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."  Ephesians 4:6.

John 5:21
For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.

John 6:57
Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.

"WE WANT THE HOLY SPIRIT, WHICH IS JESUS CHRIST” {Lt66-1894 (April 10, 1894) par. 18} - EGW.

"Finite men should beware of seeking to control their fellow men, taking the place assigned to the Holy Spirit (invisible Spirit of Jesus, His Soul/Life). Let not men feel that it is their prerogative to give to the world what they suppose to be truth, and refuse that anything should be given contrary to their ideas. This is not their work. Many things will appear distinctly as truth, which will not be acceptable to those who think their own interpretations of the Scripture always right. Most decided changes will have to be made in regard to ideas which some have accepted as without a flaw. These men give evidence of fallibility in very many ways; they work upon principles which the word of God condemns" Lt 38, 1896 (May 30, 1896) par. 39; Special Testimony to Battle Creek Church, p. 17.2 (Ellen G. White).

"Christ is to be known by the blessed name of Comforter” {Ms7-1902 (January 26, 1902) par. 10} - EGW.

1903: "Will they permit this man to present doctrines that deny the past experience of the people of God? The time has come to take decided action” Selected Messages Book 1, p. 204.1 (Ellen G. White).

"The truth as it is in Jesus is obedience to every precept of Jehovah. It is heart workBible sanctification is not the spurious sanctification which will not search the Scriptures, but will trust to good feeling and impulses rather than to the seeking for truth as for hidden treasure. Bible sanctification will lead its possessors to know the requirements of God and to OBEY them. There is a pure and holy heaven in store for those who keep God's commandments. It is worth lifelong, persevering, untiring effort. Satan is on your right hand and on your left; he is before you and behind. He supplies his falsehoods to every soul who is not cherishing the truth as it is in Jesus” RH, February 8, 1898.

"To live for self is to perish. Covetousness, the desire of benefit for self's sake, cuts the soul off from life. It is the spirit of Satan to get, to draw to self. It is the spirit of Christ to give, to sacrifice self for the good of others. “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” 1 John 5:11, 12CHRIST’S OBJECT LESSONS, PAGE 259.

"Satan works through men who are under his control. The sanitarium, the church, and other institutions at Battle Creek have less to fear from the infidel and the open blasphemer than from inconsistent professors of Christ. These are the Achans in the camp, who bring shame and defeat. These are the ones who keep back the blessing of God and dishearten the zealous, self-denying workers in the cause of Christ." Testimonies for the Church, vol. 4, p. 563.4.

"The deadly sin that led to Achan's ruin had its root in covetousness, of all sins one of the most common and the most lightly regarded. While other offenses meet with detection and punishment, how rarely does the violation of the tenth commandment so much as call forth censure. The enormity of this sin, and its terrible results, are the lessons of Achan's history." Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 496.2.

  • " 1 John 3:9.

  • "Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures" James 1:18. (James 1:18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.)
  • "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise" Ephesians 1:13.

"The same law that was engraved upon the tables of stone is written by the Holy Spirit upon the tables of the heart. Instead of going about to establish our own righteousness we accept the righteousness of Christ. His blood atones for our sins. His obedience is accepted for us. Then the heart renewed by the Holy Spirit will bring forth “the fruits of the Spirit.” Through the grace of Christ we shall live in obedience to the law of God written upon our hearts. Having the Spirit of Christ, we shall walk even as He walked. Through the prophet He declared of Himself, “I delight to do Thy will, O My God: yea, Thy law is within My heart.” Psalm 40:8. And when among men He said, “The Father hath not left Me alone; for I do always those things that please Him.” John 8:29" PP 372.

"Satan deceives many with the plausible theory that God's love for His people is so great that He will excuse sin in them; he represents that while the threatenings of God's word are to serve a certain purpose in His moral government, they are never to be literally fulfilled. But in all His dealings with His creatures God has maintained the principles of righteousness by revealing sin in its true character—by demonstrating that its sure result is misery and death. The unconditional pardon of sin never has been, and never will be. Such pardon would show the abandonment of the principles of righteousness, which are the very foundation of the government of God. It would fill the unfallen universe with consternation. God has faithfully pointed out the results of sin, and if these warnings were not true, how could we be sure that His promises would be fulfilled? That so-called benevolence which would set aside justice is not benevolence but weakness" PP 522.

"His word shall be ever unfolding. While “the secret things belong unto the Lord our God,” “those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children.” Deuteronomy 29:29. The idea that certain portions of the Bible cannot be understood has led to neglect of some of its most important truths. The fact needs to be emphasized, and often repeated, that the mysteries of the Bible are not such because God has sought to conceal truth, but because our own weakness or ignorance makes us incapable of comprehending or appropriating truth. The limitation is not in His purpose, but in our capacity. Of those very portions of Scripture often passed by as impossible to be understood, God desires us to understand as much as our minds are capable of receiving. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God,” that we may be “thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16, 17.

It is impossible for any human mind to exhaust even one truth or promise of the Bible. One catches the glory from one point of view, another from another point; yet we can discern only gleamings. The full radiance is beyond our vision.

As we contemplate the great things of God's word, we look into a fountain that broadens and deepens beneath our gaze. Its breadth and depth pass our knowledge. As we gaze, the vision widens; stretched out before us we behold a boundless, shoreless sea.

Such study has vivifying power. The mind and heart acquire new strength, new life. This experience is the highest evidence of the divine authorship of the Bible. We receive God's word as food for the soul, through the same evidence by which we receive bread as food for the body. Bread supplies the need of our nature; we know by experience that it produces blood and bone and b
rain. Apply the same test to the Bible; when its principles have actually become the elements of character, what has been the result? what changes have been made in the life? “Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17. In its power, men and women have broken the chains of sinful habit. They have renounced selfishness. The profane have become reverent, the drunken sober, the profligate pure. Souls that have borne the likeness of Satan have been transformed into the image of God. This change is itself the miracle of miracles. A change wrought by the word, it is one of the deepest mysteries of the word. We cannot understand it; we can only believe, as declared by the Scriptures, it is “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27.

A knowledge of this mystery furnishes a key to every other. It opens to the soul the treasures of the universe, the possibilities of infinite development.

And this development is gained through the constant unfolding to us of the character of God—the glory and the mystery of the written word. If it were possible for us to attain to a full understanding of God and His word, there would be for us no further discovery of truth, no greater knowledge, no further development. God would cease to be supreme, and man would cease to advance. Thank God, it is not so. Since God is infinite, and in Him are all the treasures of wisdom, we may to all eternity be ever searching, ever learning, yet never exhaust the riches of His wisdom, His goodness, or His power" EDUCATION, PAGE 171.

"But the Son of God, who was with the Father before the world was, took pity upon us in our lost condition, and offered to step in between us and the wrath of an offended God" The Youth’s Instructor August 1, 1852 paragraph 6 (Ellen G. White).

Before this world was created the Son of God existed in Heaven. God created everything through His only Son.

"The Lord has shown me that Satan was once an honored angel in heaven, next to Jesus Christ. His countenance was mild, expressive of happiness like the other angels. His forehead was high and broad, and showed great intelligence. His form was perfect. He had a noble, majestic bearing. And I saw that when God said to his Son, Let us make man in our image, Satan was jealous of Jesus. He wished to be consulted concerning the formation of man. He was filled with envy, jealousy and hatred. He wished to be the highest in heaven, next to God, and receive the highest honors. Until this time all heaven was in order, harmony and perfect subjection to the government of God" Spiritual Gifts, vol. 1, p. 17.1 (Ellen G. White).

Mind and Heart. Don't let your heart rule your mind, let your mind rule your heart.
Heart means your desires. Mind is to be the MIND or TRUTH of Christ in you.

"The typical shadows of the Jewish tabernacle no longer possess any virtue. A daily and yearly typical atonement is no longer to be made, but the atoning sacrifice through a mediator is essential because of the constant commission of sin. Jesus is officiating in the presence of God, offering up His shed blood, as it had been a lamb slain. Jesus presents the oblation offered for every offense and every shortcoming of the sinner.

Christ, our Mediator, and the Holy Spirit are constantly interceding in man's behalf, but the Spirit pleads not for us as does Christ, who presents His blood, shed from the foundation of the world; the Spirit works upon our hearts, drawing out prayers and penitence, praise and thanksgiving. The gratitude which flows from our lips is the result of the Spirit's striking the cords of the soul in holy memories, awakening the music of the heart.

The religious services, the prayers, the praise, the penitent confession of sin ascend from true believers as incense to the heavenly sanctuary, but passing through the corrupt channels of humanity, they are so defiled that unless purified by blood, they can never be of value with God. They ascend not in spotless purity, and unless the Intercessor, who is at God's right hand, presents and purifies all by His righteousness, it is not acceptable to God. All incense from earthly tabernacles must be moist with the cleansing drops of the blood of Christ. He holds before the Father the censer of His own merits, in which there is no taint of earthly corruption. He gathers into this censer the prayers, the praise, and the confessions of His people, and with these He puts His own spotless righteousness. Then, perfumed with the merits of Christ's propitiation, the incense comes up before God wholly and entirely acceptable. Then gracious answers are returned.

Oh, that all may see that everything in obedience, in penitence, in praise and thanksgiving, must be placed upon the glowing fire of the righteousness of Christ. The fragrance of this righteousness ascends like a cloud around the mercy seat." SELECTED MESSAGES BOOK 1, PAGE 344.

Romans 8:26(KJV) 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

He was born again, and was made partaker of the human nature, that we might be born again, and so made partakers of the divine nature. He was born again, unto earth, unto sin, and unto man, that we might be born again unto heaven, unto righteousness, and unto God" The Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, vol. 76 August 1, 1899, page 487 par. 3

"To every human being, life should be a serious problem. The character formed in this world determines the destiny for eternity. The element of value in the life in this world will be of value in the world to come. Our future is determined by the way in which we now allow ourselves to be influenced. If we cherish hereditary and cultivated tendencies to wrong, indulging appetite and passion, we can never enter the kingdom of God. But if we strive to repress evil inclinations, if we are willing to be governed by the Spirit of Christ, we are transformed. We take Christ’s yoke upon us, and learn his Way. Thus we become strengthened, as were Joseph, Samuel, and Daniel. We show that we are God’s husbandry, God’s building, and that we are using only solid timbers in our character-building" The Youth’s Instructor August 17, 1899 paragraph 7.

Here are a few Bible verses that very plainly states that Jesus is "THE WAY" which was why the disciples were persecuted and most killed for because they were of "THE WAY" which was considered a "SECT". Just like the early pioneers of the SDA church were and those who believe like them today will be called "heretics" and part of a "cult" or a "sect".

To Paul:
Acts 28:22
But we want to hear what your views are, for we know that people everywhere are talking against this sect."

Acts 28:23
They arranged to meet Paul on a certain day, and came in even larger numbers to the place where he was staying. He witnessed to them from morning till evening, explaining about the kingdom of God, and from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets he tried to persuade them about Jesus.

This verse is one my girls and I are memorizing:

Acts 24:14 "But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call HERESY, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:"

2 Peter 2:2
Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the WAY of truth into disrepute.

WHO IS "THE WAY"? or called "A SECT" or "HERESY" also known as a "CULT"? Jesus "The Way"!!!

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the WAY, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but byME."

To Paul:
Acts 28:22
But we want to hear what your views are, for we know that people everywhere are talking against this sect."

More about this here:

'The Holy Spirit is the breath of spiritual life in the soul. The impartation of the Spirit is the impartation of the life of Christ.' It thus makes Christ everywhere present." (Psalm 139:7)

"The Spirit of God, with its vivifying power, must be in every human agent, that every spiritual muscle and sinew may be in exercise. Without the Holy Spirit, without the breath of God, there is torpidity of conscience, loss of spiritual life. Many who are without spiritual life have their names on the church records, but they are not written in the Lamb's book of life. They may be joined to the church, but they are not united to the Lord. They may be diligent in the performance of a certain set of duties, and may be regarded as living men; but many are among those who “have a name that thou livest, and art dead.” Unless there is genuine conversion of the soul to God; unless the vital breath of God quickens the soul to spiritual life; unless the professors of truth are actuated by heaven-born principle, they are not born of the incorruptible seed which liveth and abideth forever. Unless they trust in the righteousness of Christ as their only security; unless they copy his character, labor in his spirit, they are naked, they have not on the robe of his righteousness. The dead are often made to pass for the living; for those who are working out what they term salvation after their own ideas, have not God working in them to will and to do of his good pleasure. This class is well represented by the valley of dry bones Ezekiel saw in vision. Those who have had committed to them the treasures of truth, and yet who are dead in trespasses and sin, need to be created anew in Christ Jesus" The Review and Herald January 17, 1893 paragraph 9 (Ellen G. White).

"The Holy Spirit is the breath of life in the soul. The breathing of Christ upon his disciples was the breath of true spiritual life. The disciples were to interpret this as imbuing them with the attributes of their Saviour, that in purity, faith, and obedience, they might exalt the law, and make it honorable. God's law is the expression of his character. By obedience to its requirements we meet God's standard of character. Thus the disciples were to witness for Christ. The impartation of the Spirit was the impartation of the very life of Christ, which was to qualify the disciples for their mission. Without this qualification their work could not be accomplished. Thus they were to fulfil the official duties connected with the church. But the Holy Spirit was not yet fully manifested, because Christ had not yet been glorified. The more abundant impartation of the Holy Spirit did not take place till after Christ's ascension" The Review and Herald June 13, 1899, Art. A paragraph 6 (Ellen G. White).

“The Word of God is to be taught. The life of a man upon whom is laid the work of teaching the Word of the Lord is to be an illustration of the power and righteousness of the principles that he offers to others. He who masters the art of educating others will himself prove a success by succeedingHe who wears the mantle, not of Elijah, but of Christ, will give evidence that he keeps his eye fixed on the Saviour. Imbued with Christ's Spirit, he is fitted to teach. He is constantly under the influences ("character is influence" 2MR98.3) of the high and holy impressions made by God. Elisha received a double portion of the spirit that had rested on Elijah. In him the power of Elijah's spirit was united with the gentleness, mercy, and tender compassion of the spirit of Christ" Spalding and Magan Collection, p. 231.7.

"'The words that I speak are spirit and life' John 6:63. Christ is not here referring to His doctrine, but to His person, the divinity of His character.” 1 Selected Messages p. 249.

"Almost immediately after the resurrection of our Lord, He urged upon His disciples the blessing of spiritual baptism in His words, Receive ye the Holy Ghost. By that action of breathing upon them, they received the Spirit of Christ into their inner lives. The expiration of the Spirit by the Lord of life is the inspiration of every Christian. As the Lord breathed the breath into the clay He had formed, the vital, living element gave life to the clay and it became a living soul. So Jesus Christ breathed upon His disciples and they became His living witnesses. Christ gives the life to every human worker—to His ministers who bear the most solemn message ever to be given to man to impart to man. We are to have, in these last days, life and vitality by the Holy Spirit’s quickening influence. Every minister in Word and doctrine needs to be breathed upon by the Lord Jesus. His Word is life and vitality, yes, eternal life to all who eat His flesh and drink His blood. Then all who love God and keep His commandments, through practicing His Word, pluck and eat of the leaves of the tree of life which are for the healing of the nations. The Lord has laid upon His ministers in these last days the burden of a world, and He has equipped them for the work, a spiritual work, that must be done. Endowed with power from on high, we can be successful. The reception of the Holy Spirit in the heart (desires) of the worker is the sure method of working; success is certain. There are souls to be saved, and we need to be so closely connected with our Saviour that we do know that we are doing His willWhile praying this morning my faith laid hold of the Strength of Israel, and I was blessed in believing for the work that would be done in Geelong. God can bless by few as by many. It is “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts” Zechariah 4:6" Lt 201, 1900 (April 1, 1900) par. 3.

"God is the owner of the body; and when the body, purchased at infinite cost, is made to serve the customs and practices of this world, by following the fashions of this degenerate age, the testimony is borne to the world that pride and sin reign in the heart, that Christ does not abide in the soul-temple. The Lord Jesus will not be made to serve with your sins. He claims the undivided throne of the heart, and would banish from the life every worldly, unsanctified action, whose influence would tell against the fact that you are his sons and daughters. We must remember that we are the purchase of Christ's blood. Body, soul, and spirit are his, and we are to be his agents, and not serve sin and the world, but yield to him, that we may be wholly sanctified. “Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The moment the eye of faith is turned away from Christ, and there is a seeking after the world in conforming to health-and-life-destroying fashions, that moment the soul begins a course that will lose for it the favor of God. Ye cannot serve God and Baal. The Lord Jesus died in order that we might have tender consciences through committing ourselves to God, and having our mind and will in harmony with God's mind and will. The reason why so many have a crippled experience in the things of God, is that they do not commit themselves, soul and body, to do God's will, to be conformed to God's way. The world is permitted to creep into the heart, and is there cherished as a welcome guest. When the world holds control over us, the atmosphere we breath is of a dark, murky character, and body and soul deteriorate. The soul becomes diseased, and spiritual life is infected with spiritual consumption (spiritual
pulmonary tuberculosis (TB)? Think about it! Definition of consumption: The process in which the substance of a thing is completely destroyed, used up, or incorporated or transformed into something else). The world steals the thought, and self is served and indulged, and views of the purity, goodness, and matchless love of Jesus, are eclipsed and dimmed. Peace is gone, and the soul is no longer committed to Christ in simple trust, and the whole Christian life becomes wavering and uncertain. The Holy Spirit of God is not welcomed into the soul as a reprover and comforter. The eye is no longer fixed steadfastly upon Jesus, but turned upon self, and thus contemplates the spiritual weakness of the natural character separated from God. The time that should be spent in communion with God, is spent in looking at the feelings. The moment the eye is turned from Jesus, darkness is seen, darkness is felt; for Jesus only is light and life and peace and assurance forever. “If therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” What is it to have a single eye?—It is to have a disposition to look upon Christ; for by beholding, we become changed from glory to glory, from character to character.

As we keep Christ in view, the bright rays of the Sun of Righteousness shine upon us, and flood the chambers of the mind and heart, and fill the soul-temple with light. As the Light of the world shines upon us, we diffuse it to those around, “as when the bright shining of a candle doth give light.” The soul that is stayed upon God, commits to Christ all that perplexes, all that annoys, all that gives anxiety. The light of Christ shines in the soul in all goodness and peace; for in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Those who behold Christ will never plead that their own will may be done, or that their old ways and habits may be left undisturbed. As they behold Jesus, his image becomes engraved on heart and soul, and in all their practices they reflect his example upon the world. Day by day, the hands, the feet, the tongue, follow the dictates of the spiritual nature, and faith makes their path a path that grows brighter and brighter unto the perfect day. Everything that keeps us from attaining unto the likeness of Christ, is working out for us eternal loss. Then let no one plead for a continuance of his own way. Let no one seek to excuse his deficiencies of character by saying, It is “my way.” Cooperate with Jesus Christ, and you will see that your own way is a way full of deficiency and fault, and that if it is not corrected, it will cause you to put into your character-building, traits that will be as rotten timbers that will not stand the test of the judgment. Let none of your own way appear; let nothing of these defects of character be found in your building. Build on the rock Ch
rist Jesus" The Youth’s Instructor September 14, 1893 paragraph 8 (Ellen G. White).

“We are laborers together with God; ye are God’s husbandmen, ye are God’s building.” The disinterested love manifested in the life of Christ was the means of drawing many to Him. All who are imbued with the Spirit of Christ will look upon those who in self-denial and self-sacrifice are doing His work, as did Christ when the information was brought to Him, “Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.” He had a lesson to give right at this point, a lesson which was to have a telling influence through the ages. “And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! Whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.” Christ identifies His interest with that of all who believe in Him. And every one who is imbued with the spirit of the cross and ready to sacrifice property, life in its service, will reveal Himself as bound up in Christ. He will not rob God in life or in death. He does not live for self, for he who makes self first is not a Christian. The character of the Christian is to be a reproduction of the character of Christ; the Saviour’s love and tender solicitude for souls is to live in the words and works of those who are laborers together with God" Lt 9, 1891 (May 15, 1891) par. 8.

"The worker for God must be imbued with the spirit of Christ. His love for souls must be fervent, and his faith strong and unwavering. His faith must be that which works by love. He must continually cultivate the graces of the Spirit of God, repressing all unbelief. Under the guidance and control of the Holy Spirit, the powers of the missionary of the Lord are to be put to their very highest use. It is thus that man may become a laborer together with God. All whom God has endowed with reasoning powers may become intellectual Christians. God has given abundant evidence of the truth of his word, and he requires that those who would be counted as the followers of Christ should study the Scriptures, that they may be able to give to every man a reason of the hope that is in them, with meekness and fear. He has not required any one to believe without evidence. Let the inquirer after truth put to the stretch his mental powers in diligent study of the word of God. To neglect this duty is to place the soul in peril of eternal death. Each one is required to understand the conditions upon which eternal life depends. We must know what saith the Lord, that we may be able to live “by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord.” We cannot afford to have another settle questions of such momentous import as those concerning our soul's salvation. We must open the Scriptures for ourselves, searching the word of God prayerfully, that we may KNOW the truth as it is in Jesus. We cannot afford to trust to the ministers, to follow idle traditions, to subject our souls to human authority, but we must know for ourselves what God has said. We are to be laborers together with God, and we must know, we must be determined to know, what are the conditions upon which we may become heirs of salvation. If we neglect this important duty, we shall die in our sins" The Medical Missionary May 1, 1892 paragraph 5 (Ellen G. White).

"Character IS power.” {COL 340.2} defined further in Gal 5:23-24

What does “Character” consist of exactly?

"The thoughts and feelings combined make up the moral character."  Messages to Young People, p. 92.1

Merriam-Webster says “Character” is “The mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual.” Also known as  our  nature, personality, temper, figure, disposition.

CHURCH MILITANT VS THE CHURCH TRIUMPHANT

R. & H., Book 2, p. 530: - "Compassion beamed from his [that is, Christ - compiler] countenance, and his conduct was characterized by grace, humility, truth, and love. Every member of his church militant must manifest the same qualities, if he would join the church triumphant." {RH, November 17, 1891 par. 12}

"Those who think that the church militant is the church triumphant make a GREAT mistake." E.G. White, The Upward Look, 152.

"The members of the church triumphant (144,000),—the church in heaven—will be permitted to draw near to the members of the church militant (Laodiceans/Foolish Virgins), to aid them in their necessity" The Southern Watchman September 8, 1903 paragraph 2 (Ellen G. White).
