"I saw that they were in terrible conflict as to whether to take their stand for or against the light that God has permitted me to bear to the worldIt seemed to me like a life-and-death question. I cannot describe it, but the conflict was a terrible one. The seductive presentations framed by satanic agencies were presented by subtle reasoning, and their minds had well-nigh become overwhelmed when a heavenly messenger let light shine forth. There came to them the thought, “Review the past experience of the people of God; review the history of the work from the first, as if you were beholding it in a mirror. Has this work been what it has been represented to you to be?
Then another and still another scene was presented before them by the heavenly messenger, until they saw truth bearing the signature of the heavenly (Most Holy Place in the Third Heaven) in the past, then present, and still more decidedly in the future. The words were spoken, “Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, that leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Broad is the road and wide is the gate that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat”
Manuscript Releases, vol. 13 [Nos. 1000-1080], p. 369.1 (Ellen G. White).

The "secret place" prepared of God is in the Most Holy Place in the Third Heaven that we are to ENTER BY FAITH: "The truths that we received in 1841, '42, '43, and '44 are now to be studied and proclaimedThe messages of the first, second, and third angels will in the future (now 2016) be proclaimed with a loud voice. They will be given with earnest determination and in the power of the Spirit (risen Life of Christ living in them writing the Law of God to our hearts desires, our daily little choices per Romans 8:9; 1 Cor 15:45)." (15MR Ltr 75 1905)

"Review the past experience of the people of God; review the history of the work from the first, as if you were beholding it in a mirror. Has this work been what it has been represented to you to be?"  Lt 100, 1911 (November 21, 1911) par. 9.

“The history of the early experiences (historical SDA foundation doctrines 1841-1846) in the message will be a power to withstand the masterly ingenuity of Satan's deceptions” —EGW, Letter 99, 1905.

"Those who think that the church militant is the church triumphant make a GREAT mistake." E.G. White, The Upward Look, 152.

"The members of the church triumphant--the church in heaven--will be permitted to draw near to the members of the church militant (laodiceans/foolish virgins)to aid them in their necessity." E. G. White, The Southern Watchman, Sep. 8, 1903.

"We who believe the truth should be very careful to give no occasion for our good to be evil spoken of. We should know that every step we take is in accordance with the Bible; for those who hate the commandments of God will triumph over our missteps and faults, as the wicked did in 1843" EW 70.1.

“The third angel's message was, and still is, a WARNING to the saints to "hold fast," and not go back, and "receive" the marks which the virgin band (early SDA pioneers) got rid of, during the second angel's cry.” A Word to the "Little Flock" JAMES WHITE, Topsham, Maine April 21, 1847.

What are we to hold fast? "The “mystery of iniquity” began to work in the church in Paul’s day. It finally crowded out the simplicity of the gospel, and corrupted the doctrine of Christ, and the church went into the wilderness. Martin Luther, and other reformers, arose in the strength of God, and with the Word and Spirit, made mighty strides in the Reformation. The greatest fault we can find in the Reformation is, the Reformers stopped reforming. Had they gone on, and onward, till they had left the last vestige of Papacy behind, such as natural immortality, sprinkling, the trinity, and Sunday- keeping, the church would now be free from her unscriptural errors." (James White, February 7, 1856, Review & Herald, vol. 7, no. 19, page 148, par. 26).

"As foretold in the eighteenth of Revelation, the third angel's message is to be proclaimed with great power by those who give the final warning against the beast and his image."--8T 118 (1904).

"The power which stirred the people so mightily in the 1844 movement will again be revealed. The third angel's message will go forth, not in whispered tones, but with a loud voice."--5T 252 (1885).

"I saw that this message will close with power and strength far exceeding the midnight cry."--EW 278 (1858).

"A 'Thus saith the Lord' is not to be set aside for a 'Thus saith the church.' AA 69 (cf. GC 204)

The truth is a sanctifying power...it is our individual duty to walk humbly with God.

Ellen White writes, "All these truths are immortalized in my writings. The Lord never denies His word. Men may get up scheme after scheme, and the enemy will seek to seduce souls from the truth, but all who believe that the Lord has spoken through Sister White, and has given her a message, will be safe from the many delusions that will come in in these last days."  {8MR 320.2} In RH October 8, 1867, she wrote: “Although I am as dependent upon the Spirit of the Lord in writing my views as I am in receiving them, yet the words I employ in describing what I have seen are my own, unless they be those spoken to me by an angel, which I always enclose in marks of quotation” (1SM 37; cf. 2SG 293).

“The history of the early experiences (historical SDA foundation doctrines 1841-1846) in the message will be a power to withstand the masterly ingenuity of Satan's deceptions” —EGW, Letter 99, 1905.

“Let the aged men who were pioneers in our work speak plainly, and let those who are dead speak also, by the reprinting of their articles in our periodicals.”—Manuscript 62, 1905, cited in “The Integrity of the Sanctuary Message.”

"We are to REPEAT THE WORDS of the pioneers in our work, who knew what it cost to search for the truth as for hidden treasure, and who labored to lay the foundation of our work. .. . The word given me is, Let that which these men have written in the past be reproduced.”—Review and Herald, May 25, 1905.

Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings (1843 and 1850 SDA pioneer charts = 1st, 2nd and 3rd Angel's Anti-pope message Rev. 14:6-12) as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
