Hijab

The hijab — or headscarf — is a symbol of modesty and dignity. When Christian women wear headscarves (like the Mother of Jesus), they are readily identified as followers of the true Son of God, called The Way.

Our body is a sacred temple for the Spirit of Christ (Romans 8:9; 1 Cor 15:45) and His Father to dwell in:

"Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him" John 14:23.

"But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering" 1 Corinthians 11:15.

1 Corinthians 11:13
Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?

1 Corinthians 11:14
Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him,

Luke 12:57
"Why don't you judge for yourselves what is right?

1 Corinthians 11:16
If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice--nor do the churches of God.

John 8:49
"I am not possessed by a demon," said Jesus, "but I honor my Father and you dishonor me.

1 Corinthians 14:34
Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.

Genesis 3:16
To the woman he said, "I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."

1 Corinthians 11:5
But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head--it is the same as having her head shaved.

1 Corinthians 11:13
Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?

1 Corinthians 14:21
In the Law it is written: "With other tongues and through the lips of foreigners I will speak to this people, but even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord."

1 Corinthians 14:35
If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

Ephesians 5:22
Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.

1 Timothy 2:11
A woman should learn in quietness and full submission.

1 Timothy 2:12
I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.

1 Peter 3:1
Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives,

1 Corinthians 6:15-20 (KJV):

15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit (words), which are God's.

"Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey--whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?" Romans 6:16.
