"Fear" God! What does this mean? “Fear of the Lord” = “knowledge of God”

What does it mean to "fear" God?

"Fear" God, means to KNOW God. To have a intimate, personal relationship with Him.

You can download a excellent study on what the "fear" of God means here.

Is it important and can we know?

Yes!

1. Is God pleased when His people do not know Him?

Hosea 4:1 Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. (Controversy: strife, dispute, quarrel, something against)

2. What is the whole duty of man?

Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear (know) God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

3. What does it mean to “Fear God”?

The bible writers, often used a style of writing called parallelism where they would write a thought and then repeated it using different words yet implying the same meaning.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning (origin Micah 5:2) of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

"But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one (Jesus) who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times" Micah 5:2 NIV.

Whose beginnings (Jesus beginning or origin) were from before this world was created "

Proverbs 8:22
"The LORD brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old;

Proverbs 8:23
I was formed long ages ago, at the very beginning, when the world came to be. ("I was set up (From everlasting, from beginning, from the earliest origin of the earth, I was set up) from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was" KJV)

Christ IS the WISDOM and POWER of GOD, His Father:

"Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God" 1 Corinthians 1:24

Christ IS the "Wisdom of God" (Luke 11:49) and "the Power of God and the Wisdom of God" (1 Corinthians 1:24).

Wisdom (Christ, the Son of God who IS The Word of God) speaks of her origin, her active operations, the part which she bore in the creation of the universe, her relation to God (see Proverbs 1:20 and Proverbs 3:19).

Proverbs 8:22-31 The Son of God declares himself (who is Wisdom/The Word of God) to have been engaged in the creation of the world. How able, how fit is the Son of God to be the Saviour of the world, who was the Creator of it! The Son of God was ordained, before the world, to that great work. Does he delight in saving wretched sinners, and shall not we delight in his salvation?

There is only one man being saved out of this world and that man is the Son of God who was twice born. Once of the Spirit, prior to the origin of this earth and born again of the flesh into a body prepared for Him (Heb 10:5), born of a virgin, called Mary in Bethlehem of Judea. Our only hope is to get into His risen body, by faith, and be transported, like He was ascended to the Most Holy Place, to be IN HIM, in our Spirit/Words (by faith and to understand His work which is to believe John 6:29 "
Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent") so that we can be transformed by the Spirit of Christ written to our hearts, our fleshy desires, our little daily choices so we can fully manifest Christ, just as He fully manifested His Father's Words to us.

We must go by faith today into the Most Holy Place in the Third Heaven and pray the promises of God over our friends, neighbors, enemies...for our war is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities in high places. In other words, our battle is not against our fellow beings, who are in bondage to Satan, but against Satan and his demon angels who inhabit bodies that are sinning or have been given to Satan because of Adam and Eve's sin eating the forbidden apple. It's a warfare against Satan and his demons, NOT against your fellow humans. Satan and his demons comes and pretends to be men or women humans. They are spirits and can also inhabit bodies. So we must "KNOW and UNDERSTAND" GOD like Jer 9:24 and John 17:3 says we must so we can do spiritual warfare on behalf of our fellow humans! We must by faith, enter into the one risen body of Christ and ascend by faith into the Most Holy Place and sit with Christ in His body on the Throne of His Father. Christ IS IN HIS FATHER. We are IN Christ per John 14:20. This is the secret hiding place of the Most High. WHEN we are IN CHRIST and CHRIST'S SPIRIT IS IN US, and we go by faith into the Most Holy Place, which is in Christ's Body -the body prepared for Him per Heb 10:5, Christ is IN HIS FATHER'S BODY which is the MOST HOLY PLACE, in our vantage point in the THIRD HEAVEN, THEN and ONLY THEN are we prepared to do battle against evil spirits in high places. We THEN MUST CLAIM BIBLE VERSE PROMISES. WE CAN BY FAITH TAKE WHOEVER WE ARE PRAYING FOR INTO THE MOST HOLY PLACE WITH US! THINK BIG. TAKE THOSE WITH YOU BY FAITH INTO THE MOST HOLY PLACE WHO YOU ARE PRAYING BIBLE VERSE PROMISES OVER TO BE HEALED!

Learn the Language of Heaven like the Son of God, Jesus did:

  • "I have not spoken on My own, but the Father who sent Me has commanded Me what to say and how to say it" John 12:49.
  • "The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority" John 14:10.
  • "I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me" John 8:28.
  • "what I have heard from him I tell the world" John 8:26.
  • "Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words (PROMISES, Bible verse promises) of eternal life" John 6:68.
  • "I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him" Deuteronomy 18:18.
  • "Jesus gave them this answer: "Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does" John 5:19.
Jesus used the WORDS His Father GAVE HIM to call into existence the WORLD. Jesus uses the WORDS His FATHER GAVE HIM to perform miracles. We can ALSO use the WORDS or PROMISES of GOD to perform miracles! We NEED to learn the language of Heaven which are the exceedingly great and precious Bible verse promises, like 2 Peter 1:4, Luke 21:15 and James 3:2!

In John 6:63 Jesus said "MY WORDS are SPIRIT and they are LIFE"!!! When we incorporate the WORDS God GAVE His Son to GIVE US into our daily choices to speak and do - then we are GIVEN creative power...our tongue has the power of life or death in it.

Jesus, the Wisdom of God, is also called "The Word of God" per Rev 19:13.

Wisdom of Solomon = soul of man solofman or soulofman soul of man.

Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning (origin) of wisdom (Spirit of Christ IN YOU per John 14:20): and the knowledge of the holy is understanding

Holiness means to be in "constant agreement with God".

"Understanding" is "departing from evil" Job 28:28

Evil is Sin. "sin is the transgression of the law" of God per 1 John 3:4.

Proverbs 2:5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

“Fear of the Lord” = “knowledge of God”

4. What is the first message that we are to give in the Last days?

Revelation 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. (A part of the first angels message is to bring back the knowledge of God the people)

5. Is it important to know God?

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

6. Why is knowing God so important?

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

7. What does knowing God involve?

a. Know who God is

Obeying the fourth commandment cleanses us from sin. A set apart people, set apart like Jesus was set apart and set up is cleansed by sin, by being a set apart people who obey all His commands:

"When we learn the power of His word, we shall not follow the suggestions of Satan in order to obtain food or to save our lives. Our only questions will be, What is God's command? and what His promise? Knowing these, we shall obey the one, and trust the other" The Desire of Ages, p. 121.2.

  • 1 Timothy 6:3-5 (KJV) "If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesomewordseven the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

"The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times" -Psalm 12:6.

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
