comforter

Christ often spoke of Himself in grammatical Third Person called Illeism (a linguistic form or the group of linguistic forms referring to this grammatical person, as certain verb forms, pronouns, etc. See more here: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=third+person+definition or just search for the phrase "third person definition" on Google.com). He spoke of  (John 14:16) "another Comforter" speaking of Himself...clearly brought out in verse 18 that "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you".

If read in CONTEXT, reading a text or two before John 14:16 and continuing to verse 18 it plainly reads so we can understand that Christ often spoke of Himself in third person! Many do not enter in at the narrow gate and most followers of wolves in sheep's clothing will be lost because they bow, pray, sing and worship and invite another spirit besides Christ to enter their body spirit house. John 14:17 is very clearly Christ speaking of Himself, because all of the Words Christ spoke were given to him of God and Christ spoke nothing of His own, only the Words His Father and God gave Him to speak.

The apostle says, "For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope" Romans 15:4.

Jesus said, "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of ME" John 5:39.

The Spirit of Jesus IN US, IS OUR COMFORTER! THE "comfort of the Scriptures" is the Word of God IN US! The Spirit of God is the Word of God IN US! We must invoke the Spirit of Christ/the Word of God (Bible verse promises - trace your finger over them and present them to God in the name of His Son the Word of God!) daily if we want to be saved!
