Behold! The Bridegroom comes! Go ye OUT to MEET Him!

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me." (John 14:1) The very nucleus of the gospel and the basis of all Christian faith is presented to the disciples by the author of all salvation, Jesus Christ.

The command contained in this passage is then followed by one of the greatest promises ever given to mankind.

"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." (John 14:2D3)

As Christians we understand verse 1 and believe in Christ, yet we fail to understand verses 2 and 3 because we do not consider them in the same context in which they were given by Christ to His disciples. Instead we superimpose our modern cultural concepts and thereby do not comprehend the full impact of this passage and others which refer to Christ as the bridegroom coming for the church triumphant (144,000 Adventist leaders from 1844 until Sunday law when the number will be made up), depicted as the bride of Christ.

My thesis is that there are crucial comparisons between the Jewish marriage customs, as they were practiced in the time of Jesus Christ, and the time elements involved in the return of our Lord and Savior which, if analyzed and properly understood, will assist in a more accurate exegetical and hermeneutical interpretation of scripture pertaining to His return. In this document I will first examine customs related to the Jewish marriage ceremony and then compare these customs to scriptural references concerning Christ's return. In this manner I will present what I consider to be a scriptural analogy which simplifies understanding of the biblical timetable leading up to the return of Jesus Christ.

Customs Pertaining to the Jewish Marriage

The Betrothal

Jewish marriage, similiar to most other cultures, began with the betrothal. Marriage, to the Jew, conveyed a very formal ritual as well as a very sacred one. Alfred Edersheim, in his book, The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah, sets forth the significance of this relationship saying:

Hosea 2:19 "And I will betroth you to me for ever; yes, I will betroth you to me in righteousness (Christ's Ten Commandment MIND/character becomes your mind), and in judgment, and in loving kindness, and in mercies."

Zephaniah 3:17 "The LORD your God in the middle of you is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over you with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over you with singing."

"It (Jewish marriage) was regarded almost as a Sacra-ment. Entrance into the married state was thought to carry the forgiveness of sins. ...thus the bridal pair on the marriage day symbolized the union of God with Israel."

Betrothal in earlier times had been initiated by parental overtures but by the time of Christ this was no longer considered the norm. The bridegroom would travel from his home to the home of the bride in order to negotiate with his prospective father-in-law, the purchase price of his bride. This price, refered to as the "mohar", had to be paid prior to any other events relating to the marriage. Once paid, the marriage covenant was established and the man and woman were, for all intents and purposes, considered to be husband and wife. From that moment on the bride was declared "consecrated", or "sanctified" set apart exclusively for her bridegroom4.

As a symbol of the covenant relationship which had been established, the groom and bride would drink from a cup of wine over which a betrothal benediction had been pronounced.

The Preparation

Once the marriage covenant had been established, the groom would leave the home of his bride and return to his father's house. He would remain separated from his bride for an indefinite period of time usually not to exceed twelve months. During this time both the groom and the bride had specific preparations which had to be accomplished prior to the wedding ceremony.

The groom was required to prepare living accomodations for him and his new bride.This customarily involved building an addition to his father's house large enough for the two of them to live in. The strong family ties inherent in the Jewish culture of Christ's day normally precluded the building of a separate house away from the family. The groom's preparations would include not only the structure, but also everything needed to set up a household. He would provide all that he could afford in order to offer his bride the most comfort and pleasant living accommodations possible.

The bride, in anticipation of her married life, would busy herself with her trousseau and personal arrangements. Traditionally, during this separation, her mother would teach her all things necessary to fulfill her marital responsibilities. It was a time spent in close fellowship as both recognized their new roles.

The Return for the Bride

As stated earlier, the groom would be separated from his bride-to be for an indefinite period of time usually not exceeding twelve months. Once he had prepared the household and everything was ready for his bride, the groom would prepare himself for the wedding ceremony. He would call his closest friends, including his "best man", and inform them of his immediate intentions so that they, too, could prepare for the wedding procession through the town.

The taking of the bride usually occurred at night. The groom and his friends would form a procession and, with lighted torches, they would proceed through the town so that all the townspeople would be aware of the wedding. Then they would proceed to the home of the unsuspecting bride. The bride, even though anticipating the return of her groom, would never know exactly when he was coming for her and therefore, had to be constantly prepared for his return.

The procession would hush themselves before arriving at the home of the bride in order to surprise her, and the groom would announce his return with a shout. The bride would then send a servant or a member of her household to get her bridesmaids and they would prepare for the journey to the home of the groom where the rest of the festivities took place.

The bride would then gather her necessary belongings (character of Christ by claiming Bible verses like Zach 3:4, Jude 1:4) and join the procession through the town to her new home prepared by her husband. She would be wearing her wedding gown and her face would be veiled. The wedding guests would already be in attendance when the bridal pair arrived. Presumably these guests had heard the procession and went straight to the house to help prepare for the wedding feast.

Consummation of the Marriage

Shortly after their arrival the bridal pair were escorted by their closest friends to the bridal chamber, referred to as the "huppah". These friends making up the wedding party would then wait at the door while the couple consummated the marriage, entering into physical union for the first time. (compare Christ's character/mind given to be in His People, His Spirit-begotten believers=the mind/law of God in our minds/character/attributes by claiming Christ's victory as ours/claiming the Word of God, the Bible as our own prize/gift from God by the faith OF Christ) This would finalize the marital agreement which had been covenanted earlier.

After the consummation the groom would step out (Christ steps out of the Sanctuary and says "It is Finished" let those who are filthy be filthy still and those who are righteous be righteous still - first closes for the house of God at the Sunday law and then those ready give the beautiful truths (Queen Esther/144,000 and guests of the wedding feast) and a short time later probation closes for the World, and the time of Jacobs trouble starts - for about 15 days, the 1/2 hour of silence in Heaven while Christ is putting on His Robes of vengeance =7th and last plague) and announce to the wedding party that the marriage had been finalized and completed. (In later years it became tradition for the groom to bring out the sheet from off of the wedding bed to prove the chastity and virginity of his bride. This was a sign of honor to both him and his new wife.)

The Wedding Feast and the Seven Days of the Huppah

Directly after the groom made his announcement the wedding feast would begin. This feast would last seven days and was called the seven days of the "huppah". During this time the bride and groom were waited on by their friends and all meals were taken in the bridal chamber (Rev 12:6 fed truth in a place prepared for her). Upon completion of the week they would emerge from the bridal chamber and the bride would now be unveiled for all to see.

The Comparison

The promise of John 14:13 was given by Christ to His disciples in the Upper Room Discourse. That they did not immediately understand the passage is clear from Thomas' question, "Lord we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?" (John 14:5) However, in this same discourse Christ tells His disciples He will send them the Holy Spirit (Word of God=Christ's Character=10 Commandments=Bible verse promises that we claim by faith as God's promises to us) who will teach them all things and bring to their remembrance what He had said. Later, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit (My WORDS are Spirit..."the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." John 6:63...Christ's Presence and Character=thoughts and feelings), the disciples understood the promise in its proper context.

As Christians today, we do not understand the concept of Christ the bridegroom as the disciples understood it because we superimpose our own cultural customs of marriage on this promise and thereby miss much of its significance.

The concept is not a difficult one to understand.The idea of God's relationship to man as similar to the relationship of husband and wife has been taught extensively in the Old Testament. Christ, in the parable of the ten virgins, likened His relationship to the Church Triumphant (144,000) as the bridegroom coming for the bride. In answer to the Pharisees' question, "Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink?" Christ refers to Himself as the bridegroom saying, "Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?" The Saviour ate with sinners, he spoke to them the words of life, and many accepted him as their Redeemer. The feast of Christ was holy (Holy WORDS=He spoke only WORDS His Father gave Him...Bible promises claimed, we speak only WORDS Christ gives us = Holy feast vs unholy feast the foolish virgins feast on = criticizing and faultfinding, tearing down the reputations of their fellow beings); but the fasting Pharisees will have their portion with the hypocrites and unbelievers, when Christ shall come in his glory, and those whom they scorned will be gathered into his kingdom.

Let us now compare these marriage customs with what the Bible has recorded about the return of Jesus Christ to see if an analogy does exist.

The Betrothal

In Jewish marriage customs the betrothal occurred when the man took the initiative, left his father's home and went to the home of the prospective bride to negotiate the purchase price. This price, the "mohar," had to be paid prior to anything else relating to the marriage.

"the people of God are said to be GUESTS at the marriage supper." The Great Controversy 1888, p. 426.2

"If guests, they cannot be represented also as the bride." The Great Controversy 1888, p. 426.2Christ in His Sanctuary, p. 104.2

In comparison, Christ left heaven, His Father's house, and came to earth, the home of His bride (144,000), to pay the price for a lost humanity. The "mohar" was His life's blood. We are redeemed by His blood. Ephesians 1:7 states, "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace." Peter, in his epistle also mentions this, "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things...but with the precious blood of Christ..." (1 Peter 1:18,19)

The analogy is not exact here because Christ did not negotiate with the father of this world, Satan, for the purchase price of the believers? The bride-price was determined beforehand by God in the councils with His Son before the foundation of this world/earth. Revelation 13:8/1 Peter 1:20.

You are Complete in Him! – part.2

by Isaiah Ministries

Jesus tomb1     “According as He hath chosen us in Him, before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love . . . wherein He hath made us accepted in the Beloved!”     Ephesians 1:4-6

“For God so loved this world, that He gave His Only-Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life.” John 3:16. This message is for the world, for “whosoever” means that any and all who comply with the conditionmay share the Blessing (ref: Galatians 3:14).

All who look unto Jesus, believing in Him as their personal Saviourshall “not perish, but have everlasting Life.” Every provision has been made that we may have the everlasting reward. Christ is our sacrifice, our Substitute, our Surety, our Divine intercessor; He is made unto us Righteousness, Sanctification, and Redemption. “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures (shadows) of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the Presence of God for us.” Hebrews 9:24 Read more of this post

The groom obtained his bride through the establishment of a marriage covenant. In the same manner, Christ came to the earth to establish a covenant. This covenant, foretold in the Old Testament by the prophet Jeremiah, was established the same night He gave the promise to His disciples. It is the New Covenant established by the shedding of His blood on the cross. This means that we can go directly to Christ - without the animal sacrifices - we should be claiming Bible verses like Jude 1:24, Zach 3:4, John 6:37...where God promises to make us holy/perfect, in constant agreement with God. We need to plead with God to bless us with His character (Ten Commandments) like Jacob wrestled with God until he obtained the victory/blessing.

In the Jewish ceremony a shared cup of wine served as a symbol of the marriage covenant.In the Church today the communion cup is the symbol of the covenant established by Christ to obtain His bride.

When the price had been paid the Jewish bride was considered sanctified, set apart exclusively for her husband. The Church, too, has been declared sanctified, set apart exclusively for Christ. In Ephesians Paul teaches, "Husbands love your wives even as Christ loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word." Even Corinth, the most carnal of churches addressed in the New Testament, was considered sanctified. The author of Hebrews says we are all sanctified through the offering of the body of Christ once for all.

The Preparation

With the establishment of the marriage covenant and the payment of the "mohar" accomplished, the groom would return to his father's house to accomplish the necessary preparations. Christ, after paying the price, also departed to His Father's house to make preparation. The promise of His return in John 14 includes His preparation on our behalf when He said, "I go to prepare a place for you".

The Jewish groom remained separated from his bride for an indefinite period of time. Christ's separation is also for an indefinite period of time.

Here again the analogy does not exactly coincide as the Jewish groom was separated for a time usually not exceeding twelve months; whereas Christ's return has been delayed significantly longer. The Church is now living in this period of separation.

Just as the Jewish groom prepared living accommodations for his new bride in his father's house, Christ is preparing accommodations for us in His Father's house in heaven.

The Jewish bride busied herself with her trousseau and learned about her marital responsibilities. Christ has even taken care of this for the Church, for when He comes we will exchange our corruptible for the incorruptible.

The Return for the Bride

After all necessary preparations had been made, the Jewish groom returned for his bride to take her to be with him in their new home. The taking of the bride occurred at night and the groom would make his presence known by a shout. Christ will return for His bride in like manner. It will undoubtedly be at night for some and day for others as we are told by Paul it will occur in the twinkling of an eye. Christ's presence will be made known by a shout also. Paul tells us through his letter to the Thessalonians, "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel..." (1 Thessalonians 4:16)

In the taking of the bride in the Jewish ceremony, the groom was accompanied by a procession of his friends. Christ will also be accompanied by a procession of an angelic escort and the people of God are also known as "guests", "5 wise virgins" and "Sons and Daughters of God".

Just as the Jewish bride had no idea when her groom would return for her, the Church today has no idea when Christ will return.Paul tells us as he told the Thessalonian believers, "This day will come as a thief in the night." Probation will close or come as a surprise to many.

"When probation ends, it will come suddenly, unexpectedly--at a time when we are least expecting it.  But we can have a clean record in heaven today, and know that God accepts us" (7BC 989).

"The solemn fact is to be kept not only before the people of the world, but before our own churches also, that the day of the Lord will come suddenly, unexpectedly." (FE 336).

Probation closes for professed Adventists at the time the Sunday law legislation is passed and enforced. Then at the Sunday law, the loud cry will go forth in great power.

Just as the Jewish bride had no idea when her groom would return for her, the Church  Triumphant (144,000 Bride of Christ) today has no idea when Christ will return. Paul tells us as he told the Thessalonian believers, "This day will come as a thief in the night." Probation will close or come as a surprise to many. Probation closes for professed the House of God (Adventists) at the time the Sunday law legislation is passed and enforced.

Then at the Sunday law, the loud cry will go forth in great power.

“Isaiah 60:1: Arise, shine; for thy light (living reality experiencing Jesus helping you in your life trials) is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:1. TO THOSE WHO GO OUT TO MEET THE BRIDEGROOM IS THIS MESSAGE GIVEN."  Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 420.3

“Only those who have withstood temptation in the strength of the Mighty One will be permitted to act a part in proclaiming it (the 3rd/4th angels message) when it shall have swelled into the Loud Cry.” (Review and Herald, Nov.19, 1908).

"When the DECREE goes forth and the stamp is impressed, their character will remain pure and spotless for eternity. NOW is the time to prepare." T5, 216.1.

"And at the commencement of the time of trouble (March 19, 2013? Rev 13:5 Pope Francis starts his reign of 42 months), we were filled with the Holy Ghost as we went forth and proclaimed the Sabbathmore fully" Last Day Events, p. 143.1

NOW is the time to prepare. The seal of God will NEVER be placed upon the forehead of an impure man or woman. It will NEVER be placed upon the forehead of the ambitious, world-loving man or woman. It will NEVER be placed upon the forehead of men or women of false tongues or deceitful hearts. All who RECEIVE THE SEAL must be without spot before God,-- candidates for heaven. Search the Scriptures for yourselves, that you may understand the fearful solemnity of the PRESENT HOUR. {CET 191.2}

Only those who have come out of Laodicea/foolish virgin theological tare bundle 501c3 modern Adventism will be given the LOUD CRY message to share with the world about the 7th day Sabbath and their personal experience and reality of KNOWING their husband, the Bridegroom, Christ...

"Pentecost [which] brought them the heavenly illumination. The truths they could not understand while Christ was with them were now unfolded. With a faith and assurance that they had never before known, they accepted the teachings of the Sacred Word. No longer was IT A MATTER OF FAITH with them that Christ was the Son of God. They KNEW that, although clothed with humanity, He was indeed the Messiah, and they told their experience to the world with a confidence which carried with it the conviction that God was with them." The Acts of the Apostles, p. 45.3

having the mind or character of Christ in them, which a transcript or copy of the mind of Christ is the Ten Commandments or the Divine Attributes of Christ and His Bride the 144,000 historical Adventist doctrine believing leaders from October 22, 1844 until the Sunday law.

Scripture presents this close relationship between the Lamb and His bride by asking,

All who have died in faith under the third angel's message come forth from the tomb glorified, TO HEAR GOD'S COVENANT OF PEACE with those who have kept his law. 'They also which pierced Him,' those that mocked and derided Christ's dying agonies, and the most violent opposers of his truth and his people, are raised to behold him in his glory, and to see the honor placed upon the loyal and obedient.” –{The Spirit of Prophecy Volume 4, p. 454.1}.

Similar to the Jewish bride returning with her husband to his father's house, the Church Triumphant (Zion/144,000) will return with Christ to heaven along with all those who have died in Christ. In this way we will inhabit the heavenly dwelling place prepared specifically for us by Christ in heaven. Read more about Heaven and what it will be like here.

When the Jewish bride and groom returned to the father's house, the wedding guests are the PEOPLE OF GOD, the 5 wise virgin Adventists who come out, the Sons and Daughters of God have already congregated in mind by intense bible study and claiming the Word of God as their own gospel in preparation for the literal feast in Heaven. Similarly, when we get to heaven with Christ, I believe some of the wedding guests will already be there and more will be taken when Christ appears in the clouds of Heaven with a shout to raise all the righteous dead. We will find the some special souls of the Old Testament saints there as guests to celebrate with us who were raised at the time of Christ's resurrection.

The Consummation

When the bride and groom entered into physical union for the first time, they consummated the marriage and thereby completed the marriage covenant. Similarly, when the Church is taken to the Father's house in heaven we will enter into spiritual union with Christ thereby consummating the relationship which Christ covenanted with the Church over 1900 years ago.

"They were not to be present in person at the marriage; for it takes place in heaven, while they are upon the earth. The followers of Christ are to "wait for their Lord, when He will return from the wedding." Luke 12:36. But they are to understand His work, and to follow Him by faith as He goes in before God. It is in this sense that they are said to go in to the marriage." The Great Controversy, p. 427.1, Christ in His Sanctuary, p. 105.1

“The great plan of redemption, as revealed in the closing work of these last days, should receive close examination. The scenes connected with the sanctuary above should make such an impression upon the minds and hearts of all that they may be able to impress others. All need to become more intelligent in regard to the work of the atonement, which is going on in the sanctuary above. When this grand truth is seen and understood, those who hold it will work in harmony with Christ to prepare a people to stand in the great day of God, and their efforts will be successful. By study, contemplation, and prayer God’s people will be elevated above common, earthly thoughts and feelings, and will be brought into harmony with Christ and His great work of cleansing the sanctuary above from the sins of the people. Their faith will go with Him into the sanctuary, and the worshipers on earth will be carefully reviewing their lives and comparing their characters with the great standard of righteousness (10 Commandments=Christ the law in our minds, the mind of Christ in us, His character, His merits and attributes are written for us to mold our lives after in the Ten Commandments with His help)They will see their own defects; they will also see that they must have the aid of the Spirit of God if they would become qualified for the great and solemn work for this time which is laid upon God’s ambassadors.” 5T 575

“Thus those who follow in the light of the prophetic word saw that, instead of coming to the earth at the termination of the 2300 days in 1844, Christ then entered the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary to perform the closing work of atonement preparatory to His coming.” (The Great Controversy, p. 422).
“The proclamation, “Behold, the Bridegroom cometh,” in the summer of 1844, led thousands to expect the immediate advent of the Lord. At the appointed time the Bridegroom came, not to the earth, as the people expected, but to the Ancient of Days in heaven, to the marriage, the reception of His kingdom. “They that were ready went in with Him to the marriage: and the door was shut.” They were not to be present in person at he marriage; for it takes place in heaven,while they are upon the earth. The followers of Christ are to wait for their Lord, when He will return from the wedding. Luke 12 : 36. But they are to understand His work, and to follow Him by faith as He goes in before God. It is in this sense that they are said to go in to the marriage.”–  The Great Controversy., p. 427.
“In the summer and autumn of 1844 the proclamation, “Behold, the Bridegroom cometh,” was given. The two classes represented by the wise and foolish virgins were THEN developed — one class who looked with joy to the Lord’s appearing, and who had been diligently preparing to meet Him; another class that, influenced by fear and acting from impulse, had been satisfied with a theory of the truth, but were destitute of the grace (character/law) of God. In the parable, when the bridegroom came, “they that were ready went in with him to the marriage.”– The Great Controversy, p. 426
". . . And all who through the testimony of the Scriptures accept the same truths, following Christ by faith as He enters in before God to perform the last work of mediation, and at its close to receive His kingdom--all these are represented as going in to the marriage." Great Controversy, page 427,428.
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels (144,000=Bride of Christ) shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just." Matthew 13:45-49.

The Bride of Christ are those leaders who LIVE and give the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th angels messages from October 22, 1844 until the Sunday law legislation is enforced = the 144,000 number is then MADE UP, and they go forth in greater power (character) to give the "Sabbath more fully"...

"Many who went forth to meet the Bridegroom under the messages of the first and second angels, REFUSED the third, the last testing message to be given to the world, and a SIMILAR position will be taken when the LAST call is made.” {RH, October 31, 1899 par. 12} )

"I saw a throne, and on it sat the Father and the Son. . . . Before the throne I saw the Advent people--the church and the world. I saw two companies, one bowed down before the throne, deeply interested, while the other stood uninterested and careless." Early Writings, page 54.

 "Now this praying company was in this mortal state, on the earth, yet represented to me as bowed before the throne. I never had the idea that these individuals were actually in the New Jerusalem. Neither did I ever think that any mortal could suppose that I believed that Satan was actually in the New Jerusalem." Early Writings, page 92.

So the pioneers of Adventism WENT IN WITH CHRIST BY FAITH TO THE MARRIAGE. The leaders of Adventism who obeyed the truth in “The truths that we received in 1841, ’42, ’43, and ’44 are NOW to be studied and proclaimed. The messages of the first, second, and third angels will in the future [now 2015-  September 19, 2016! Rev 13:5 the end of the 42 months which started on March 19, 2013] be proclaimed with a loud voice. They will be given with earnest determination and in the power of the Spirit.” {15MR 317.1}

The only church that goes through the great Time of Jacob's trouble, is the church triumphant, the 144,000=Bride of Christ and guests or wise virgins who come out and endure the persecution with us.

The angel that "shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just," is the Third Angel, according to Ellen White:

"Said the angel, 'The third angel is binding, or sealing, them in bundles for the HEAVENLY GARNER.' This little company looked careworn, as if they had passed through severe trials and conflicts [the little time of trouble - March 19, 2013 to September 19, 2016 -remember this is cut short in Righteousness, else no one would be saved alive - Jacobs great time of trouble the time the plagues are falling and the righteous stand in the sight of a holy God without a mediator is 15 days or the space of 1/2 hour - Revelation 8:1"And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour."]. And it appeared as if the sun had just risen from behind a cloud and shone upon their countenances, causing them to look triumphant, as if their victories were nearly won." E.G. White, Early Writings, 88.

"I then saw the THIRD ANGEL (144,000 Bride of Christ, faithful men and women who live and give the 3 angels messages including the 7th day Sabbath message more fully). Said my accompanying angel, 'Fearful is his work. Awful is his mission. He is the angel that is to SELECT THE WHEAT FROM THE TARES, AND SEAL, OR BIND, THE WHEAT FOR THE HEAVENLY GARNER." Early Writings, 118.

The Third Angel as Faithful Men or The Church Triumphant

Of course, faithful men equal faithful men, equal the church triumphant, and not the church militant. So it is clear that it is from a church of faithful men, symbolized the THIRD ANGEL, that all the tares of the world and of the churches will be shaken.

"The angel represented in prophecy as delivering this message, symbolizes a class of FAITHFUL MEN, who, obedient to the promptings of God's Spirit and the teachings of His word, proclaim this warning to the inhabitants of earth. This message WAS NOT to be committed to the religious leaders (501c3 Adventists today) of the people. They had failed to preserve their connection with God, and had REFUSED THE LIGHT FROM HEAVEN." E.G. White, The 1884 Great Controversy, p. 199-200.

Chapter 10—The Little Time of Trouble

A Time of Trouble Before Probation Closes

On page 33 [of Early Writings] is given the following: “... At the commencement of the time of trouble, we were filled with the Holy Ghost as we went forth and proclaimed the Sabbath more fully.”

This view was given in 1847 when there were but very few of the Advent brethren observing the Sabbath, and of these but few supposed that its observance was of sufficient importance to draw a line between the people of God and unbelievers. Now the fulfillment of that view is beginning to be seen. “The commencement of that time of trouble,” here mentioned, does not refer to the time when the plagues shall begin to be poured out, but to a short period just before they are poured out, while Christ is in the sanctuary. At that time, while the work of salvation is closing, trouble will be coming on the earth, and the nations will be angry, yet held in check so as not to prevent the work of the third angel.—Early Writings, 85, 86 (1854).

"And at the commencement of the time of trouble, (not Jacobs time of trouble?) we were filled with the Holy Ghost as we went forth [Hosea 6:2, 3.] and proclaimed the Sabbath more fully. This enraged the church, and nominal Adventists, as they could not refute the Sabbath truth. And at this time, God’s chosen, all saw clearly that we had the truth, and they came out and endured the persecution with us. And I saw the sword, famine, pestilence, and great confusion in the land. [Ezekiel 7:10-19. 2 Esdras 15:5-27] The wicked thought that we had brought the judgments down on them. They rose up and took counsel to rid the earth of us, thinking that then the evil would be stayed. [2 Esdras 16:68-74.] I saw all that “would not receive the mark of the Beast, and of his Image, in their foreheads or in their hands,” could not buy or sell. [Revelation 13:15-17.] I saw that the number (666) of the Image Beast was made up; [Revelation 13:18.] and that it was the Beast that changed the Sabbath, and the Image Beast had followed on after, and kept the Pope’s, and not God’s Sabbath. And all we were required to do, was to give up God’s Sabbath, and keep the Pope’s, and then we should have the mark of the Beast, and of his image. In the time of trouble, we all fled from the cities and villages, [Ezekiel 7:15, 16. Luke 17:30-36. See Campbell’s translation.] but were pursued by the wicked, who entered the houses of the saints with the sword. They raised the sword to kill us, but it broke, and fell, as powerless as a straw. Then we all cried day and night for deliverance, and the cry came up before God. [Luke 18:7, 8.] The sun came up, and the moon stood still. [Habakkuk 3:11.] The streams ceased to flow. [2 Esdras 6:24.] Dark heavy clouds came up, and clashed against each other. [2 Esdras 15:34,35.] But there was one clear place of settled glory, from whence came the voice of God like many waters, which shook the heavens, and the earth. [Joel 3:16. Hebrews 12:25-27.] The sky opened and shut, and was in commotion. [Revelation 6:14. Matthew 24:29.] mountains shook like a reed in the wind, and cast out ragged rocks all around. The sea boiled like a pot, and cast out stones upon the land. [Habakkuk 3:8-10. Isaiah 2:19-21.] And as God spoke the day and hour of Jesus’ coming, [Ezekiel 12:25. Mark 13:32.] and delivered the everlasting covenant to His people, [Ezekiel 20:37. Hebrews 12:22-25.] He spoke one sentence, and then paused, while the words were rolling through the earth! [Jeremiah 25:30, 31.] The Israel of God stood with their eyes fixed upwards, listening to the words as they came from the mouth of Jehovah, and rolled through the earth like peals of loudest thunder! It was awfully solemn. At the end of every sentence, the saints shouted, Glory! Hallelujah! Their countenances were lighted up with the glory of God; and they shone with the glory as Moses’ face did when he came down from Sinai. The wicked could not look on them, for the glory. [Song of Solomon 5:1-5.] And when the never ending blessing was pronounced on those who had honored God, in keeping His Sabbath holy, there was a mighty shout of victory over the Beast, and over his Image. Then commenced the jubilee, when the land should rest. I saw the pious slave rise in triumph and victory, and shake off the chains that bound him, while his wicked master was in confusion, and knew not what to do; for the wicked could not understand the words of the voice of God. [Daniel 12:10.] Soon appeared the great white cloud. [Revelation 14:14.] It looked more lovely than ever before. On it sat the Son of Man. [Luke 21:27.] At first we did not see Jesus on the cloud, but as it drew near the earth, we could behold his lovely person. This cloud when it first appeared was the Sign of the Son of Man in heaven. [Matthew 24:30.] The voice of the Son of God called forth the sleeping saints, [John 5:25-28.] clothed with a glorious immortality. The living saints were changed in a moment, and caught up with them in the cloudy chariot. [1 Thessalonians 4:17.] It looked all over glorious as it rolled upwards. On either side of the chariot were wings, and beneath it wheels. And as the chariot rolled upwards, the wheels cried Holy, and the wings as they moved, cried Holy, and the retinue of Holy Angels around the cloud cried Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty. And the saints in the cloud cried Glory, Hallelujah. And the cloudy chariot rolled upwards to the Holy City. Jesus threw open the gates of the Golden City, and led us in. [Isaiah 26:2.] Here we were made welcome, for we had kept the “Commandments of God,” and had a “right to the tree of life.” [Revelation 22:14.] From your sister in the blessed hope, E. G. White." A Word to the Little Flock, p. 18.4

This spiritual union will be the fulfillment of the promise given to the Corinthian church (and ultimately to all believers through the ages) when Paul told them, "For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."

When the groom came to take his bride to his father's house she went veiled (today represents the covering of Christ's Righteousness, His Character/law), for it would have been considered improper for her face to have been seen in public. The Jewish bride remained veiled until she was in the "huppah", the bridal chamber. In like manner, the Church triumphant, the 144,000 historical doctrine Adventist leaders from October 22, 1844 until the Sunday law is enforced; during this age does not know exactly who (remains veiled until Christ brings her forth to show off the beauty of her great truths given to her in '41, '42' '43 and 1844 until the loud cry goes forth in great power at the Sunday law) the other members of the Church are; as Paul says, "we see through a glass darkly." When Christ comes to take us to heaven though, we shall see each other as face to face. When Christ encircles His people with the rainbow - when He comes back to get us - then the wicked will know who are God's people.

"With shouts of triumph, jeering, and imprecation, throngs of evil men are about to rush upon their prey, when, lo, a dense blackness, deeper than the darkness of the night, falls upon the earth. Then a rainbow, shining with the glory from the throne of God, spans the heavens and seems to encircle each praying company. The angry multitudes are suddenly arrested. Their mocking cries die away. The objects of their murderous rage are forgotten. With fearful forebodings they gaze upon the symbol of God's covenant and long to be shielded from its overpowering brightness.

By the people of God a voice, clear and melodious, is heard saying, "Look up," and lifting their eyes to the heavens, they behold the bow of promise. The black, angry clouds that covered the firmament are parted, and like Stephen they look up steadfastly into heaven and see the glory of God and the Son of man seated upon His throne.

While all the world is plunged in darkness, there will be light in every dwelling of the saints. They will catch the first light of His second appearing." From Maranatha - Page 279

"Those who wait for the Bridegroom’s coming are to say to the people, “Behold your God.” The last rays of merciful light, the last message of mercy to be given to the world, is a revelation of His character of love. The children of God are to manifest His glory. In their own life and character they are to reveal what the grace of God has done for them. The light of the Sun of Righteousness is to shine forth in good works—in words of truth and deeds of holiness." Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 415.5

The wise virgins depart/exit from baptized paganism into the protection of Christ and His angels by JOINING themselves to the Way. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6. The Way is Christ's righteousness (pure unadulterated truth put into practice into our choices/life) and is the only protection/covering from the 7 last plagues.

    The Jewish Wedding Canopy (Huppah)

    huppah--often spelled "chuppah"--is a Jewish wedding canopy with four open sides. A Jewish wedding ceremony typically occurs under a huppah. The huppah typically consists of a square cloth made of silk, wool, velvet or cotton, supported by four poles.
    1. chuppah (Hebrewחוּפָּה‎, pl. חוּפּוֹת, chuppot, literally, "canopy" or "covering"), also huppahchipechupah, or chuppa, is a canopy under which a Jewish couple stand during their Jewish wedding ceremony. It consists of a cloth or sheet, sometimes a tallit, stretched or supported over four poles, or sometimes manually held up by attendants to the ceremony. chuppah symbolizes the home that the couple will build together (Christ's Righteous Character/law covering us). While a Jewish marriage is still considered valid in the absence of a chuppah, chuppah is still considered a basic requirement for a Jewish wedding.

      In a more general sense, chupah refers to the method by which nesuin, the second stage of a Jewish marriage (first part paid bride price - the blood sacrifice of Christ), is accomplished. According to some opinions, it is accomplished by the couple standing under the canopy (the canopy of Christ's Righteousness/law=Christ's Father's mind/law daily choices/truths); however, there are other views.[1][2]

      A traditional chuppah, especially within Orthodox Judaism, recommends that there be open sky exactly above the chuppah.[3] If the wedding ceremony is held indoors in a hall, sometimes a special opening is built to be opened during the ceremony. Many Hasidim prefer to conduct the entire ceremony outdoors. It is said that the couple's ancestors are present at the chuppah ceremony.[4]

      In Yemen, the Jewish practice was not for the groom and his bride to be secluded in a canopy (chuppah) hung on four poles, as is widely practised today in Jewish weddings, but rather in a bridal chamber that was, in effect, a highly decorated room in the house of the groom. This room was traditionally decorated with large hanging sheets of colored, patterned cloth, replete with wall cushions and short-length mattresses for reclining.[5] Their marriage is consummated when they have been left together alone in this room.

    2. This wedding party procession started October 22, 1844 when Christ moved into the "Most Holy Place" our MIND which is also called the "Bridal Chambers" of Christ and His Bride. This is called the marriage of the minds of the 144,000 with Christ. This Bridal procession continues until probation closes for the House of God at the Sunday law when the 144,000 number will be made up. These 144,000 and guests (5 wise virgins) aka Sons and Daughters of God, go forth to the great multitude, "we were filled with the Holy Ghost as we went forth and proclaimed the Sabbath more fully" Last Day Events, p. 143.1.  Then at the close of probation for the world, a dark day happens like happened for the children of Israel during their Exodus from Egypt. The Israelites had light in their homes, just as spiritual Israel will have light in their homes, on the dark day that probation closes for the world. The first light of the 2nd coming of Christ, there will be light in the Spirit-Begotten Believers. 7 last plagues are falling and Christ's second coming, returns with a shout, is the 7th and last plague. Aren't you excited? We are nearly at the END of this wedding party procession! We can see the borders of the Heavenly Canaan! We are well able to go up and posses it through the power/character/victory of Christ!

      Psalm 68:24 “Your PROCESSION, God, has come into view (started on October 22, 1844 when Christ moved into the Most Holy place  - the "huppa" or "covering" Christ's mind in us, which is the law in us, the Divine Attributes of Christ's character - until Christ returns with a shout!), the procession of my God and King into the sanctuary."

      The investigative judgement of the dead and living also runs parallel to the Ten Virgin Parable. Here is a brief summary of that here:
    3. Christ's Bride must stand alone with Christ.

  2. The Huppa covering/Bridal Chamber covering/Sanctuary covering:  "If we humble ourselves and have His converting power every moment, His righteousness will be our covering. "Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; and the glory (character) of the Lord shall be thy rereward" (Isa. 58:8)." Christ Triumphant, p. 62.7

    "Christ works within us, and His righteousness is upon us." Selected Messages Book 1, p. 394.3

"I saw some who were not standing stiffly for present truth. Their knees were trembling, and their feet sliding, because they were not firmly planted on the truth,and the covering of Almighty God could not be drawn over them while they were thus trembling." Early Writings, p. 44.1

Satan was trying his every art to hold them where they were, until the sealing was past, until the covering was drawn over God's people, and they left without a shelter from the burning wrath of God, in the seven last plagues. God has begun to draw this covering over His people, and it will soon be drawn over all who are to have a shelter in the day of slaughter. God will work in power for His people; and Satan will be permitted to work also.

I saw that the mysterious signs and wonders and false reformations would increase and spread. The reformations that were shown me were not reformations from error to truth. My accompanying angel bade me look for the travail of soul for sinners as used to be. I looked, but could not see it; for the time for their salvation is past."Early Writings, p. 44.1

The angel [of Ezekiel 9] is to place a mark upon the forehead of all who are separated from sin and sinners, and the destroying angel will follow, to slay utterly both old and young.” Testimonies, vol 5, p 505.

 “The message presented at this time is the last message of mercy for a fallen world.  Those who have the privilege of hearing this message, and persist in refusing to heed the warning, cast away their last hope of salvation.  There will be no second probation.” Testimonies, vol 6, p 19.

In the traditional Jewish marriage ceremony the marriage was consummated and the announcement was made to the wedding guests. This announcement would signal the beginning the wedding feast.

Just as the Jewish bride remained hidden in the "huppah" for a period of seven days, so will the Church remain hidden for a period of seven - cut short in righteousness?.

Revelation 12:6 "And the woman (144,000 from October 22, 1844 until Sunday law legislation goes into effect) fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days." The SAME time period Pope Francis reigns according to Revelation 13:5 and reigns for 42 months.... March 19, 2013 until September 19, 2016; which is 42 months, 1,260 literal days, or 3.5 years.

"When He leaves the sanctuary (on or before Sept. 19. 2016 =cut short in righteousness?), darkness covers the inhabitants of the earth." –{GC 614}.

“A darkness will cover the inhabitants of the earth when Jesus moves out of the heavenly sanctuary such as enveloped the earth at the time of his crucifixion. This will be an evidence, to those who have known the truth, that probation’s hours are past, and the eternal destiny of every soul is sealed beyond recall; but this will only strike terror to the soul that has failed to heed the warning message, “Prepare to meet thy God”. –{Review & Herald Articles Book 3, page 581. Review and Herald Supplement of June 21, 1898}

Revelation 11:2
But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months.

Revelation 11:3
And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth."

Revelation 12:14
The woman was given the two wings (two charts 1843 and 1850 charts = foundation of Adventism) of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent's reach.

The two charts 1843 and 1850 prophecy charts shown below are the two WINGS (2 charts of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th angels messages) that were given to the Ten Virgins/Adventists to nourish and feed God's people while they were wandering in the wilderness (for 171 years now) from October 22, 1844, going into the promised land, the Heavenly Canaan, into the Sanctuary - the marriage covenant, into the bridal chamber and the gospel feast of the Bread of Life, by claiming the Bible verse promises, the victory of Christ as their own into the protection of Christ and His claiming the precious Bible promises as our very own!

1843 CHART

“First and Second Angels' Messages was 1843-Chart

I have seen that the 1843 chart was directed by the hand of the Lord, and that it should not be altered; that the figures were as He wanted them; that His hand was over and hid a mistake in some of the figures, so that none could see it, until His hand was removed. {EW 74.1}

Prophetic time chart from 1843, about the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation. Originally published by J. V. Himes.

Satan is . . . constantly pressing in the spurious–to lead away from the truth. The very last deception of Satan will be to make of none effect the testimony of the Spirit of God. “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18). Satan will work ingeniously, in different ways and through different agencies, to unsettle the confidence of God’s remnant people in the true testimony.– Letter 12, 1890.  {1SM 48.3}

The Lord’s prophet makes a very important point about how her writings are to be used:

Regarding the testimonies, nothing is ignored; nothing is cast aside; but time and place must be considered. Nothing must be done untimely. Some matters must be withheld because some persons would make an improper use of the light given. Every jot and tittle is essential and must appear at an opportune time. In the past, the testimonies were carefully prepared before they were sent out for publication. And all matter is still carefully studied after the first writing.  {1SM 57.2}

“Time and place” are to be considered when interpreting her writings. The question then is under what circumstances – what “time and place” – was the statement made that angels “assisted and had oversight” of the Review and Herald? This statement was penned in 1850, around the same time that her husband wrote in support of the 2520. She wrote this testimony in the same year that James White was republishing and confirming the Millerite understanding of prophecy; including the 2520.

“Then I saw that the papers [The Review and Herald] would go and that it would be the means of bringing souls to a knowledge of the truth. I saw that James had not borne the burden alone, but that the angels of God had assisted and had oversight of the paper.”– {8MR 221.2}

Below is an excerpt from the paper that “the angels of God” had “oversight of.”

“Our minds were directed to that point of time, from the fact that dating the several prophetic periods from those years in which the best chronologers assign the fulfillment of those events which were to mark their commencement, they all seemed to terminate that year. This was, however, only apparent. We date the “seven times” or 2520 years, from the captivity of Manasseh, which is, with great unanimity, placed by chronologers B.C. 677. This date is the only one we have ever reckoned from, for the commencement of this period; and subtracting B.C. 677 from 2520 years. There remained but A.D. 1843. We, however, did not observe, that as it would require 677 full years B.C. and 1843 full years A.D. to complete 2520 years, that it would also oblige us to extend this period as far into A.D. 1844, as it might have commenced after the beginning of B.C. 677.” {August 1850 JWe, ADRE 2.6}

1850 CHART

On our return to Brother Nichol’s, the Lord gave me a vision and showed me that the truth must be made plain upon tables, and it would cause many to decide for the truth by the third angel’s message with the two former being made plain upon tables. {5MR 203.1}

About this chart E.G. White writes in her book Early Writings on page 74: “I ... This is the original chart from 1850, as drawn by Otis Nichols. It was produced after the example of the 1843 chart but should correct the error on it (the date 1843 on the 1st chart).

This error was an error in addition. THey did not count 0 as a 1 for adding the adding 1 for the 0 fixed the problem.

Luke 10:26: “He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?”

Christ points us to the Word as supplying the answers for all controversies – He points us to inspiration. And inspiration makes the following statements regarding the 1843 and 1850 charts:

I have seen that the 1843 chart was directed by the hand of the Lord, and that it should not be altered; that the figures were as He wanted them; that His hand was over and hid a mistake in some of the figures, so that none could see it, until His hand was removed… – Early Writings pg.74

As early as 1842, the direction given in this prophecy, to “write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it,” had suggested to Charles Fitch the preparation of a prophetic chart to illustrate the visions of Daniel and the Revelation. The publication of this chart was regarded as a fulfillment of the command given by Habakkuk. No one, however, then noticed that an apparent delay in the accomplishment of the vision—a tarrying time—is presented in the same prophecy. After  the disappointment, this scripture appeared very significant: “The vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. . . . The just shall live by his faith.”  {GC88 392.1}

Note- see below: Brother
Nichols Chart was 1850-Chart. “First and Second Angels' Messages was 1843-Chart”, and “the Third Angels' Message was 1850-Chart”.Those who are teaching this are teaching truth. If they are not teaching these charts they are NOT teaching truth. Revelation 12:14 "And to the woman were given two wings (two charts = foundation of Adventism) of a great eagle..."

Revelation 13:5

And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

Revelation 17:3
Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. There I saw a woman (protestants in America - 501c3 Adventist members) sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns.

Both Daniel, in the Old Testament, and Revelation, in the New Testament, give the exact amount of time for this period. This is the time period of Daniel's seventieth seven. It is the period referred to in Revelation as the Tribulation. Revelation gives the exact number of days for the last half of this time period.

At the close of the wedding feast the groom would proudly escort his bride out of the bridal chamber. She would now be unveiled for all to see, in full view. So Christ will bring the Church Triumphant, His Bride out of heaven at the end of the 3.5 years:

All the 144,000 who have died are raised back to life about 15 days or the 1/2 hour before Christ appears in the clouds of Heaven: “All who have died in faith under the third angel's message come forth from the tomb glorified, TO HEAR GOD'S COVENANT OF PEACE with those who have kept his law. 'They also which pierced Him,' those that mocked and derided Christ's dying agonies, and the most violent opposers of his truth and his people, are raised to behold him in his glory, and to see the honor placed upon the loyal and obedient.” –{The Spirit of Prophecy Volume 4, p. 454.1}.

"The graves were opened, and those who had died in faith under the third angel's message (Oct 22, 1844-2nd coming of Christ), keeping the Sabbath, came forth from their dusty beds, glorified, to hear the covenant of peace that God was to make with those who had kept His law." Early Writings, p. 285.1Maranatha, p. 281.2

"God’s ministers (144,000) are symbolized by the seven stars, which He who is the first and the last has under His special care and protection." Gospel Workers 1915, p. 13.3
Christ is represented as holding the seven stars in His right hand. This assures us that no church faithful to its trust need fear coming to nought, for not a star that has the protection of Omnipotence can be plucked out of the hand of Christ.” Acts of the Apostles, p 586.

Revelation 12:1.   “And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:”

 Paul told the Colossians of this event in these words, "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory." (Colossians 3:3-4)

The Significance

The analogy between the Jewish marriage customs and the relationship Christ has with the Church Triumphant (144,000) is a beautiful one and full of significance to Believer and non Believer alike. First, to the Believer this relationship is most significant to the Spirit-Begotten Believer for several reasons. It shows the Believer the sequence of events which have led up to the present time of separation between the Church Triumphant (Bride=144,000=Adventists leaders chosen by God the Father Himself for His Son from October 22, 1844 up to the Sunday law legislation) and Jesus Christ. It gives the Believer hope for the return of Jesus Christ and the re-establishment of the close personal relationship we will share with Him throughout eternity.

It is also significant in what it teaches about our present relationship to the risen Christ. In the Jewish analogy it was possible for the Jewish bride to commit adultery. In the absence of her husband to be she could do this by giving herself to another man. Even though the actual wedding ceremony had not yet taken place, this was still considered adultery. Today it is possible for the Believer to commit spiritual adultery in the absence of Christ. Paul expressed his concern over this issue when He wrote to the Corinthians and said:

For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin. But I am afraid, lest as the Serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds should be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:23)

James also was concerned about the same thing when he wrote that friendship with the world is hostility toward God. The context here seems to indicate one commits spiritual adultery when he becomes more devoted to the godless world system than to Jesus Christ and the things that please Him.

So the significance to be applied personally, is to evaluate your relationship to the risen Lord and determine what it is He would have you to do in His absence.  John 6:29 "Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." Determine if He remains the center of your life and if you are anxiously awaiting His return. Ask yourself if He is controlling your every desire and thought, or if your relationship to the world is of more importance.

If you have been unfaithful in your relationship to Him you can be confident He will forgive you of those actions if you confess them and ask for His forgiveness. 2 Timothy 2:16 affirms his faithfulness toward us despite our actions.If we earnestly seek a closer walk with Him and desire Him to rule in our lives we will readily admit our failure to remain pure. But upon confession we can be assured the Holy Spirit (Christ's Presence and His Character=Ten Commandments is the mind of Christ in us = Divine Attributes=our thoughts and feelings) will renew our devotion and we can wait for His return confidently.

Secondly, to the Unbeliever, if you have never trusted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you have absolutely no part in the foregoing analogy. If you do not establish a relationship with Jesus you can not become one of the 144,000, part of His bride, the Church Triumphant or one of the guests that join the wedding feast (character of Christ through claiming Bible verses 2 Peter 1:4 "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature (Godly character)...") You will not take part in the reunification. Christ died on the cross for your sins, by His shed blood on that cross he paid the price for your sins also. You can enter into this relationship by admitting your need for a Savior and by accepting Him as that Savior.

Just as the proposal of the Jewish bridegroom could be either accepted or rejected, you too, can either reject or accept the offer Christ makes to you each time you hear the gospel. The warning is: if you continue to reject Him, He will reject you and you will spend eternity separated from God and His Son Jesus Christ.

If you accept Christ's proposal your sins will be forgiven and you will enter into (Psalms 100:4) the relationship and be a part of His bride through thanksgiving and praise to God and His Son. You will be gathered together with Him when He returns. Accepting His proposal is really quite simple. You simply believe that Jesus Christ is the literal, true, ONLY son of God, that He came to earth and died to pay the price for your sins, that His Father raised Him from the dead as proof that His sacrifice on your behalf was acceptable to God.
